Tuesday 5/21/13 Christian Responsibilities 7

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another great day.  Thanks for all You do for us, and Lord, we are so very blessed, and today I just want to tell you again I love You and appreciate the blessings You send this way.  Lord, please be with those who have been tossed about by the storms that  hit the mid-west.  And Lord, please help me with the message of today.  Thanks again, dear Lord.   In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

"Pastor Dan's Safety Tip."  If you are parked and will need to back out of the parking space, ALWAYS walk behind your vehicle before you get in, looking for things that might be laying behind your vehicle like bikes, toys, pets or a child!  Do the same at shopping centers, food stores, etc.  For a shopping cart or other things could be behind you, again, including a child.

Good Evening, dear brothers and sisters.  A really hot one here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, but no complaints, for we still have our home and a roof on it.  Please send your prayers to God our Father through Jesus His Son for all those who have been hit by storms.  While we have so many needs by others, I would just like to direct our prayers to the mid-west.  I do want to quote two interviews I saw on the news today.  One, "The good Lord gives and the good Lord takes away."  Two, "We put on the motorcycle helmets and got into the closet and prayed like hell, when we got out everything was gone."  Two  quotes, one from the Bible, and one from someone who more than likely does not spend much time praying.  Time permitting, later this week, we will discuss them.  For now, off to the message ... Christian Responsibilities.

Tuesday May 21, 2013, Christian Responsibilities, Day Six.

Romans 12:20 - On the Contrary:  "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.  In doing this, you will  heap burning coals on his head."  21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  (NIV)

Hi, folks, I must tell you the older I get the more I look back, and the more I look back the more I appreciate my late Mamma and Dad.  I know now my parents got their sayings from the Bible but was not sure back when I was little.  If my mamma would have made a direct quote from the Bible I might not have understood i t.  When I look at the verse above I think of how she would tell me to love all people, and if someone did not like my clothes, I was to tell them that I like theirs, and if they would keep it up, I was to tell them, my clothes are clean and paid for.  She would also tell me that I can catch more flies with honey of sugar than with vinegar.  She would say, Danny, you need to win them over with kindness.  Regardless of  how people would think about us, this fine lady would love them, and she raised us that way.  Son, love your neighbor, and said, "I am not asking you to do that, I am telling you."  It was a commandment from God, not a request, so she would tell it to me the same way.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  Trying to overcome evil with evil just does not work.  We have all heard the saying, Two wrongs do not make a right!"  It does not make a difference how much evil you toss on top of evil, it will not make it right.  So our Lord tells us to overcome evil with Good. j Now I will tell you that you will need to work at this, one act of good does not cut it with all the evil out in the world today.  So how do we start out when evil is done?  We take it to the Lord in prayer, we pray and pray.  Look at abortion, my friends, we need to keep praying that this ends.  Just look around you, go out into the world today and before you get far, evil you will see, it is all around us.  Cursing, swearing, fighting, crimes, black against black, brother against brother (that started very early and is recorded in the Bible.)  I could go on and on, a person works hard all week, really works hard, and his pay goes into the bank.  They stop at one of those money machines and gets out some spending cash and get held up before they pull away.  Pray, folks, and stay with the Lord, and remember this.  Read the back of the book, the Bible, and you will find out in the end, GOOD WINS, we who are saved win.  CHRIST WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.  Never, never, never.  Okay, long enough.

Dear Father in Heaven, as You know, I started this last evening but could not stay awake,  You bedded me down, gave me a great night's sleep, and now I can finish the message.  Thanks, dear Lord.  Now please send this out to hands that will learn from it.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings, which is always a good way to work on overcoming evil with Good.  Love ya.  Pass it on.

Pastor Dan

Brothers and sisters, when I say "pass it on" I am talking about God's Love.  If you want to share the message, that is 100% okay and up to you.
