Dear Father in Heaven: Praise You, Lord, for the great news o Dolores' eyes, and Dear Lord, thank You for opening my eyes to something today. Lord, be with that warrior and help him, please. Lord, I renew our prayers for Patsy and Burt Emig and also their family, Lord. Be with the others on this list, and Lord, help us to learn how to respect others and their feelings. Now, Lord, please help me with the message of today. IN Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Pastor Dan's Safety Tip: Schools will soon be out for the summer, watch for children where you do not normally see them. Drive slow in neighborhoods, children often run into the streets. Remember when you see a ball roll into the street, a child is next, because they are chasing the ball.
Dear brothers and sisters. Please, if you do not read anything else, PLEASE READ THIS. Today, Dolores needed to go back for her day-after follow-up on her eye surgery, and all glory and honor to Jesus, for she can see perfectly without any glasses. Both distant and near. While we were at Dr. Daley's office, my eyes were opened wide. It happened like this. If you have been to Dr. Daley's office, you know it is not a good place to get in. You must drive down a hill to his office, where you can park two cars in the handicapped parking spots. Other than that you need to walk down the hill or have someone drive you down and then go back up and park on top. God was good and when we arrived the spot next to the door was open and Dolores went in for her check-up. Because I have been having a lot of trouble walking, I stayed in the car. I was not there long when I looked in my mirror and this is what I saw. A young man walking down the hill, and it was all he could do to walk ... Out in front of him, an older man with a military style haircut walked backward, holding his hands out to catch this young man if he stumbled. I am starting to cry again. This young man, A WOUNDED WARRIOR, was missing his left arm and both legs and was walking on those new style artificial legs. He had a cane in his right hand to help him walk. He would stumble and his catcher was there but did not baby him at all. He was there to catch him if he started down. This warrior looked to be about 20, maybe 21. I cried ... I should have gone in and thanked him for his service, but I was just beside myself. This man gave two legs and an arm and who knows what else so I can still preach.
Lord, forgive me when I talk about hurting, keep me going the best I can and cause me to not complain. Thanks, Lord, and thanks for that warrior. In Jesus' name.
I am so sick and tired of people who in past wars spit on our warriors when they came home. And I am sick and tired of hearing our military persons called names. Just recently I heard our Marines referred to as JAR HEADS. This young man just might have been a MARINE. I am tired of the names. My wife is an Air Force Veteran and I am proud of that. I have family who served in the Navy and know others who served in the Navy. I also know some who served in the Army, the Marines, the Coast Guard, and even knew some Merchant Marines and our guard units. I am also tired of our Police Officers being referred as "pigs." I don't even like the term "cop." I m tired of the donut jokes about police. I am tired of the slang about our firefighters. They are not "smoke eaters." Over the years when I have heard these terms, I stood silent. NO MORE. When someone refers to Jesus using His name as a curse word, I tell them about it. Jesus died on that tree for me, and they cursed at Him on the cross. He gave His life for us and at least we can stand up for Him. But after what I saw with my own two eyes, and it was in person, not on TV. It was in person. As I wrote the other day, when it comes to our veterans, "some gave all, and all gave some." This "WARRIOR", this young man, gave up his legs and his arm so an old pastor like me can stand in public and talk about Jesus. DON'T ANYONE DARE CALL THEM NAMES IN FRONT OF ME. I will call them down. And if I get "punched out" or worse for it, it is okay, for Jesus gave His life, and this warrior gave his legs and an arm. And brothers and sisters, you can for sure pass that one on. DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?
Jeremiah 32:20 - Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You. (NIV)
Luke 21:33 - "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words remain true." (NIV)
Nothing is too hard for our Lord, nothing and I know it, because it tells me that in my Bible. And also as we know from our Bibles, our Lord Jesus never changes, and His Words will remain true.
Brothers and sisters, I pray that I will hold my PROMISES today, made before you folks and God. Now please share your blessings. I love ya. Pass it on.
