Wednesday Aug. 3 2011 Heaven or Hell?

That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. What a great day to be saved and also helping others with their journey to find and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. God is so good.

I always like to remind the readers that as we work to have others be saved, we cannot save them, we can only lead them to the feet of Jesus, or to the cross of Jesus, however you want to put it. There are many, many ways to lead people to Christ, preaching, teaching, singing, helping them in times of need, but I think that the best way to lead others to Christ is to live a life for Him and let others see that in You. AMEN. You see, Jesus set the example for how we should live and follow Him, and we should do the same. I also think this might be one of the hardest things to do, for as the Bible tells us we all fall short of the glory of God. So today as we pray, center those prayers on Your life for Christ and working to get others saved, and if you are on this line and have no clue what I am talking about, please call me on my cell phone, 717 991 0754.

Heaven or Hell? Day 3 Romans 10:9/10 9 - That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (NIV)

So far this week we have been talking about Hell and about it is one of the places that we could spend everlasting life. Today I want to talk to you about that turning point, start heading you toward salvation or stronger in salvation. You see once you are saved, we need to go to work for Jesus.

Philippians 2:12 - Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, CONTINUE TO WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. 14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure children of God. (NIV)

This scripture authored by the Apostle Paul, to the Philippians, but as you look over it, does it not ring true today for all of us? It is telling us to obey God and to continue to work out our salvation. The Bible goes on to say we are to be working our salvation with fear and trembling. We need to have that reverent fear of God, and I know I have that. People will ask me, do you fear God? Why, yes, I do, for I know I am a sinner, and saved by His grace, but I fear His mighty power... Think of it, how many of you have had a fear of a big storm, a twister coming down the street? You are afraid, you fear it, and folks, who caused it? At the same time as we fear Him we must trust Him.

I have told you before I had wonderful God-fearing parents, and they never abused or beat me, but I did have that razor (big wide belt) a time or two. I learned in our home that I needed to love my daddy for he earned that, I needed to respect my daddy for he did set good examples, and I needed to fear him for when I messed up, and I did mess up.

The same goes with our Lord God, I know how He is forgiving, and my daddy was also, but I also know that our Lord Jesus holds that key to heaven, and if we want in we will fear Him and weigh over hard some of the things we do. My daddy and mamma both would tell me if they had to punishment, and I say had now for if they had not punished me then, how would I have turned out?

Our Wonderful Father in Heaven sent us Jesus to save us from self, our rotten filthy sins. Jesus gave examples of how we should live and what we need to do to be saved. Mamma and daddy would also say that when they punished me that it hurt them more than me. You need to be a parent to understand that one, and I feel that Jesus is the same and when He does need to punish us it hurts Him. And how bad to you think it will hurt Him if we need to be turned away at the gates of Heaven?

So, brothers and sisters, as we work for Jesus on this Salvation day, and we work to have others saved, please folks, do as the Bible tells us to do, "CONTINUE TO WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION" and as others see you doing just that it will help them come to Jesus also. Set an example of living for Christ... AMEN.

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray I got the word out as you wanted it put forth... Lord, help us through this day and help us to Continue to work on our own salvation, use us this day to bring in the harvest... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth, living for Jesus, setting examples for others to follow and of course sharing your blessings... love ya, Pastor Dan.
