Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us. He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.
Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Thursday and the day we pray for families and schools. Our schools are about to open and we need to be really praying for them, and also for their safety on the highway as millions of children hit the roads in what the kids call "The Cheese" meaning of course that big yellow school bus. Are you out of work and have a clean driving record, check out school bus driving, as good and I said good school bus drivers are always needed.
Now about praying for families, please remember to pray for the family of God, and also please remember my family as we pray for yours. Now about those schools, if you see a lot with school buses parked, go and stand at the entrance, raise your hands to God and pray over the buses and pray for the drivers... Or get on your knees and pray. Do the same at schools, go to that school sign in front of the school, if you have anointing oil, use it on the sign. Pray for all who enter the doors of the school, the kids, the cleaning people, the office staff, the teachers, the parents and pray please for the school board. Back in the heyday of the Central Dauphin School District, then board president Thomas George opened every meeting with prayer. The district was a top shelf place to send your kids to school. Bringing God on board in all you do makes a difference. And none of this silent prayer stuff, let it ring out.
Never Alone: Day 4. 1 John 4:7 - Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed His love among us. He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, as I write this subject for God this week, Never Alone, I find it all based around love. If you don't have love in your heart for others, chances are you might have some very lonely times. God is love, He started it, and yes, He will always have it, it is never ending when you love God. I talked to you about how a few times I felt so alone and I was in a crowd, and I could sense that I did not belong where I was and God wanted me out of the place. You see if you talk to God, and do it often and then you listen, He will talk to your heart, He really will. Let me say this on that subject, if you have never heard God speaking to your heart, you ARE NOT LISTENING. You know a lot of us men are accused by our wives of having selective hearing, meaning we can tune out what we don't want to hear, like a honey-do list. God does not have selective hearing and listens to all who call upon His name. We do need to remember that sometimes God's answer is not what we want to hear, and we also need to remember that "no" is an answer to a prayer sometimes.
Our scripture that God gave me today tells us to "love one another" and sometimes I think men have trouble telling other men they love them. Folks, you got to separate out love and sex, for on today's market people are having sex with people they don't even know, let alone love. I have heard that in some young men today seeing how many girls they can make in the motherly way is like a badge of honor. And the taxpayers pick up the tab for the children. Look close at the scripture today where it tells us that "Whoever does not love, does not know God." Folks, you must love everyone, everyone I say, regardless if they have hurt you in the past, if they are an X, or they did you dirty in the past, you must still love them. Oh yes, let me put that a different way. Think of it as your relationship with God. He loves you regardless if you have hurt him in the past, if you are an X, meaning you walked away from Him. Or if you did Him dirty in the past (cursed His name). He still loves you, for those things, those things that I just pointed out are sins, which is why Jesus came here and died for us... Think of that Cross as the washing machine for a minute, just a minute, each week you take your dirty stuff to the washing machine and if it works right it comes out clean. Each day (I hope) you get a bath, or shower and you wash off all the dirt from that day or that night. You step out. None of those things can wash away your sins of the past, only the blood of Jesus shed on that Old Rugged Cross. Now as I wrap up for today, and speaking of that Old Rugged Cross, let's go out singing, see if you can put this song on your heart, mind and lips for today, sing it out for all to hear...
Dear Father in Heaven, Tide might take out the stains from our clothes, and soap might take the dirt from our bodies, but only the blood of Jesus can wash us up white as snow, so Lord Jesus, give us a bath today that we will remember forever and ever as we sing about that Old Rugged Cross. I love You, Jesus, and Lord, help me love everyone... in the name of Jesus, who first loved me. Amen.
Now go forth singing and sharing your blessings, and folks, all blessings come from God, so share them well. I love ya, Pastor Dan.
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.
To that old rugged cross I will ever be true, its shame and reproach gladly bear; Then He'll call me someday to my home far away where His glory forever I'll share. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.
