"Seek and you will find."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today heading our prayers is healing, healing for all who are sick, find the cure. And remember to pray for those who have lost loved ones in our war efforts and in the passing storms. Also pray for the ones in the path of the flooding rivers and those with trees over their homes. Please pray also for Dale and Blanch, Blanch is back in the hospital, pray for pastor Tony and also for my wife Dolores... Pray also for Vicki...
Ask, Seek and Knock: Day Two: Matthew 7:7 - "Seek and you will find." (NIV)
Appearing before God this morning, I hammered on the gate... Knock, Knock... Who's there, the Lord asked? and I said... It's me, it's me, it's me, oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer, It's me, it's me, it's me, oh Lord... Standing in the need of prayer. It not my mother, nor my father, but it me, oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer, not my sister, nor my brother, but it me oh Lord... I am STANDING IN THE NEED OF PRAYER... Oh, yes, Lord, it is me, and as always, Lord, I need your touch... AMEN.
Luke 12:29 - And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink no not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But SEEK His kingdom and these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)
Yesterday we looked at Ask and today Seek, and yes, tomorrow with the good Lord willing we will look at Knock... Today as I talk about seek or seeking I must admit that I seek more now than I did when I was younger. Yes, I seek out the Lord more now, but I seem to be forever seeking my car keys, or house keys or my check book. Seems when I was younger I had a tad more memory or memory that was not used up. I think our brain might be like a computer and only has so much room and once in a while, ok, everyday we need to go to the Lord and CLEAN OUT THE JUNK. When thinking about the computer, I think if people would surf heaven instead of the network and seek out God instead of seeking out things on the computer. But being serious I seem to be always hunting something... In my younger days I could come home, toss the keys to the car down someplace and remember the next day where I put them. Now I am blessed if I can locate the bathroom (in time of course).
But I have found this out to be very true, if I ask the Lord first, talk to Him about my day, I will spend less time seeking things that I seem to have lost or misplaced, and finding more things to do with God and how I can work more for Him. Once again I need to thank my good dear friends Grant and Wanda who showed up yesterday, chain saws in hand and rakes and shovels and cleaned up a big mess. Things went well as we went to God first and then to work..At noon we sat down and had some good veggie soup. During our lunch break, we packed out food for a needy family who came right after lunch for food. So where do you stand today, are you seeking out God as the Bible tells us to do and finding that if we seek God, and seek His will for us, that those other things, those needs and a lot of our wants are furnished?
Let's look one more time at our scripture from Luke...
Luke 12:29 - And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink no not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But SEEK His kingdom and these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)
Look at verse 31 - But seek His kingdom and these things, yes, all these things will be given to you as well... Those last two words, "as well." Meaning to me, there will be more, for the things mentioned in this scripture are just a few of the things God has furnished... I ask that you take a minute today and see what God has furnished for You... Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for filling our plates, and thanks for looking over all of our prayers, our needs and taking care of them according to your will... In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth, seeking God and sharing your blessings. Yes, share those blessings... love ya, Pastor Dan.
