Monday Aug 1, 2011 Heaven or Hell?

"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power."

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters... Today, being Monday, is the day we pray for our President and all of our leaders in Washington (and they sure do need it) and for all those in our State Houses, and Local Governments. I have other prayer requests that I will get to by tomorrow.

I want to give all honor and glory to God and thank all of you who prayed for the wedding I pastored on Saturday past. I was very nervous coming up to this. It was a great day, and a great wedding. It was the largest wedding I did, there was no rehearsal outside on the golf course where the couple got married, plus the couple already had two children together, one four years old and one nine months, and they wanted them in the wedding and then to be dedicated to the Lord. In other words this family came to Jesus. Anyway long story short, I finally did what I preach and turned it all over to our Lord God, I had done my homework, meaning put feet on my prayers but was still a basket case. I went to the Lord in prayer, just Him and me and said, it is all yours, dear Lord, just use me... And it was beautiful. GOD IS GOOD!! So I really do need to be putting to practice what I preach as the saying goes, and I need to turn it all over to Him. Someone shout AMEN.

HEAVEN OR HELL? Day 1: 2 Thessalonians 1:8/9 8 - He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of His power. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, over the next few days or so, I am going to be talking to you about the two places where people might go after leaving this earth. According to the Bible there are but two places one can go, and so often we are told only about the one... This week I would like to bring out a few things. One is we have a choice to make, which place are we going to go to, heaven or hell. As I read it from the word, both places you will have everlasting life. All so often we only hear about everlasting life with Jesus... Many of us over the years have been taught the scripture John 3:16.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life." (NIV) (eternal = everlasting)

So we have over the years been taught what to do to get into heaven and that is great, for we all need to know the steps to go, so we can prepare ourselves through and with Jesus to get there... but so many forget scriptures about Hell like this one that I used today. Let's look at it in part again.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 - They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of His power. (NIV) (everlasting = eternal)

As we go through this week, I hope my writing gets so hot about hell that you will be able to feel the heat. You think it is hot this summer, then you should talk to a firefighter and find out about walking into burning buildings and that still is not hot as in the FIRES OF HELL.

Let me just wrap up today asking you these questions... Would you rather spend eternity, your everlasting life, walking around on streets made of Gold, with a mansion there to live in, and be with Jesus, or would you rather hang out with Satan and burn in hell for ever and ever? Do you want the express up, or the express down? It is your choice, and I am sure of this, and sure as sure can be.

Both Jesus and Satan want you. So stay with me this week, it will get hot for a while and I hope you do feel the heat of the messages.

Dear Father in Heaven, please let me say first... Thank You for just taking over a wedding, and help me learn more and more just to let go and let you take care of it. Just guide my hands and feet and for sure my heart and brain and most of all my mouth. Thanks for the wedding results, please keep your hand on this family that said that day, we want to be a family under God. Lord, please hear our prayers for this day as listed, and please help me each day to write what You want... Now please bless this line. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Go forth and share those blessings, and know that I love ya, Pastor Dan.
