Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011 Ask, Seek and Knock 3

"Knock and the door will be opened unto you."

There is joy in the camp, for another warrior has gone home. The warrior worked hard for the Lord, He stood in front of flocks and told and talked of his love of Jesus, and now He is with Him face to face.

Please pray today for the family of my dear, dear friend, Pastor Charles Idler, for He went to be with Jesus this past Sunday. About two weeks ago I went to see Pastor Charles at his room at Messiah Village. When I went in, he did not seem to know me, he was in his chair. Pastor Charles had a stroke a few years back and I came to know him when he and his lovely wife Katharine would come to church.

Pastor Charles was quiet and loved the Lord. Me, I make a lot of noise and love the Lord. We hit it off great. We prayed a lot and talked a lot and I really wanted to see and hear him preach again. One day he closed the service for me. When I was over just recently Pastor was very tired, as I said it seemed he did not know me, until I started to sing "How Great Thou Art" and his eyes lit right up. He tried to join in, as we sang some more. We sang the Old Rugged Cross. I said to him, you want to go home, don't you, and he said very, very slowly... H O M E... On Sunday Pastor Charles went home..

Please say a word of prayer for the family, FOR THERE IS JOY IN THE CAMP, ANOTHER WARRIOR HAS GONE HOME. See you soon, Pastor, we are only passing through down here.

Good Morning. my dear brothers and sisters, and it is Wednesday, meaning it is Salvation Wednesday on this line and the day we pray for the unsaved. So today please pray for the unsaved and for God to use those who are saved to help lead in the lost to be saved. Again, I want to remind you that only our Lord Jesus can save a soul, we are His workers and we are to bring in the harvest for Him to save. Please keep praying also for my dear wife as she is in rehab, rehabbing her third new right knee in about 4 years. This one is not easy and we need to pray that depression is not setting in.

Ask, Seek and Knock: Day 3: Matthew 7:7 - "Knock and the door will be opened unto you." (NIV)

Revelation 3:14 - "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15 I know your deeds that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm neither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, 'I am rich, I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich, and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness, and slave to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19 Those who I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me. (NIV)

As we look over Ask, Seek and Knock, I want to ask you this very important question today. Are you hot or cold for the Lord, or are you, well, like the Bible states, just lukewarm? While I ask you this question today, I do caution you that our Lord already knows your heart and I am just trying to work for Him and see if you, and yes, even me, know our own hearts well enough to answer this question today.

Maybe even some have hot and cold spells. Folks, we need to be "hot" for the Lord. We need to be on fire for Him all the time... To do just that we need to repent and get it done. Do you see the words of our scripture today? "But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." Wow, we have money in the bank because someone told us years ago to save for old age, we go to the eye doctor and have 20/20 corrected eye sight, and we dress in really nice clothes. Yet when we are cold, or even lukewarm the Bible tells us we are poor, blind and naked. And even states we are wretched and pitiful. What do we need to do to get this in line, for the Bible, our word for today tells us that Jesus does love us, but He is going to spit us out of His mouth. And what does He want us to do after He spits us out? He wants us to go to Him and buy gold refined in the fire, you then become rich, and you cover your shameful nakedness by being earnest and repenting.

Maybe I can relate this to our food at a fine eating place. Our food comes, and it costs a lot, let's say a big steak, and we are really ready for it. We take the first bite and we spit it out, for it is either cold or just lukewarm. Then we send it back and it is put back on the fire and refined. Our dear Lord loves us, and He wants us, but He does not want us cold for Him or even just lukewarm. We need to repent and get back into or in my words get back on fire or just get on fire if you are a first timer and we need to get that fire stoked up. And how do we stoke up our fire? We need to, well, we need to Ask, Seek and Knock! Wow, God just brought me back to the lesson title. Ask, Seek and Knock.

Ask, well, that would be we going to Him in prayer or just talking to Him and this time not rambling on and on, but getting to the point. I WANT TO BE ON FIRE FOR YOU, LORD, HELP ME PLEASE...

So what are we asking and seeking, we are asking for God to help us to repent of our sins. Because if we really want to seek out the Lord we need to put away our sinful self and get washed so we are not naked and we are white as snow. And then we need to Knock on the door again, and talk to God again and again. And then we need to remember as we repent, that it will be our Lord Jesus who is going to stand at the door and Knock. And when we hear His voice and invite Him in, He will come in and eat with us and us with Him... BEHOLD I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK... Maybe Jesus would like to say, I spit you out once, and I am back because of my dear, dear love for You. Are you ready now, or are you still lukewarm? SO I ASK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN, ARE YOU READY NOW OR ARE YOU STILL EITHER COLD OR LUKEWARM?

In the near future I am going to take a run back at a love of mine, the Bus Museum Board of Directors. As you recall, I was and am still Chaplain and need to get the prayer back on board. I was told we can no longer pray out loud before a meeting (we are not government run or supported). We will have silent prayer and reflection. Code to God, we don't care enough to honor You for what You did for us by talking to You out loud in front of others. I need to do this, for I am tired of being put aside or even put down because I have come to Jesus and I am hot for the Lord, I am on fire for the Lord, and He is and must be first in my life... I messed up on this one, I should have stayed and kept on praying. So pray for me as my hat and more important my heart for Jesus and also for those old vehicles go back into the ring. I have talked to God about this... I have ASKED, I HAVE SOUGHT, AND NOW I AM GOING TO DO SOME KNOCKING... We do have a God of second chances. For if He were not, why would Jesus have died on the cross for us? God hates sin and I do also.

As we pray today in closing, let's do this for Pastor Charles or more so for his family... And you know this is coming... Lord, bless the family of the warrior, Pastor Charles who has come home... and I just know He is singing this...

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art...

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art...

HOW GREAT THOU ART... HOW GREAT T-H-O-U A-R-T...

HOW GREAT THOU ART... HOW GREAT T-H-O-U A-R-T...

Now go forth loving on Jesus, repenting and listening for the knock on your door, and sharing your blessings along the way. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Aug. 30, 2011 Ask, Seek and Knock 2

"Seek and you will find."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today heading our prayers is healing, healing for all who are sick, find the cure. And remember to pray for those who have lost loved ones in our war efforts and in the passing storms. Also pray for the ones in the path of the flooding rivers and those with trees over their homes. Please pray also for Dale and Blanch, Blanch is back in the hospital, pray for pastor Tony and also for my wife Dolores... Pray also for Vicki...

Ask, Seek and Knock: Day Two: Matthew 7:7 - "Seek and you will find." (NIV)

Appearing before God this morning, I hammered on the gate... Knock, Knock... Who's there, the Lord asked? and I said... It's me, it's me, it's me, oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer, It's me, it's me, it's me, oh Lord... Standing in the need of prayer. It not my mother, nor my father, but it me, oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer, not my sister, nor my brother, but it me oh Lord... I am STANDING IN THE NEED OF PRAYER... Oh, yes, Lord, it is me, and as always, Lord, I need your touch... AMEN.

Luke 12:29 - And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink no not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But SEEK His kingdom and these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

Yesterday we looked at Ask and today Seek, and yes, tomorrow with the good Lord willing we will look at Knock... Today as I talk about seek or seeking I must admit that I seek more now than I did when I was younger. Yes, I seek out the Lord more now, but I seem to be forever seeking my car keys, or house keys or my check book. Seems when I was younger I had a tad more memory or memory that was not used up. I think our brain might be like a computer and only has so much room and once in a while, ok, everyday we need to go to the Lord and CLEAN OUT THE JUNK. When thinking about the computer, I think if people would surf heaven instead of the network and seek out God instead of seeking out things on the computer. But being serious I seem to be always hunting something... In my younger days I could come home, toss the keys to the car down someplace and remember the next day where I put them. Now I am blessed if I can locate the bathroom (in time of course).

But I have found this out to be very true, if I ask the Lord first, talk to Him about my day, I will spend less time seeking things that I seem to have lost or misplaced, and finding more things to do with God and how I can work more for Him. Once again I need to thank my good dear friends Grant and Wanda who showed up yesterday, chain saws in hand and rakes and shovels and cleaned up a big mess. Things went well as we went to God first and then to work..At noon we sat down and had some good veggie soup. During our lunch break, we packed out food for a needy family who came right after lunch for food. So where do you stand today, are you seeking out God as the Bible tells us to do and finding that if we seek God, and seek His will for us, that those other things, those needs and a lot of our wants are furnished?

Let's look one more time at our scripture from Luke...

Luke 12:29 - And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink no not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But SEEK His kingdom and these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

Look at verse 31 - But seek His kingdom and these things, yes, all these things will be given to you as well... Those last two words, "as well." Meaning to me, there will be more, for the things mentioned in this scripture are just a few of the things God has furnished... I ask that you take a minute today and see what God has furnished for You... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for filling our plates, and thanks for looking over all of our prayers, our needs and taking care of them according to your will... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth, seeking God and sharing your blessings. Yes, share those blessings... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday Aug, 29, 2011 Ask Seek and Find

Ask and it will be given to you.

Knock, knock ---- Who's There? Jesus who?

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. If Jesus were to appear at your door and you did not know Him and had to ask, Jesus who, wow, I have been messing up on my job getting the word to you. We were hit by the storm, the fourth major time this season (I might as well live on the coast of Florida). Anyway, nothing major, I guess, lots of trees down, and one looks like it totaled our six door limo we use to take seniors on day trips. Just pray for us as we clean up today. We are so blessed by God, I just cannot get upset over this. Right now on the news a house is on fire and they can't get to the house because of high water. Dear brothers and sisters, please count your blessings, for we all are better off than some others, and all for sure better off than those who don't know Jesus.

Remember today to pray for all of our troops, our leaders, and all of those people who have received damage from the storm. I will get into trouble for this, but I want you to think about this. A few years back we had a storm called Katrina, they blamed things on President Bush because help was said to be slow to arrive. The residents of the area sat and waited for government help, and buses were left go under water. This storm, transportation was stopped and people were told to get to safety on their own, and they did. What a difference when people learn to stand on their own two feet, under God, and not always leaning on the government to help. Our governments cannot do it all... BUT JESUS CAN... SOMEONE SHOUT AMEN... and yes, some will drop from the line... Please keep praying for Dolores, now in the Community General Rehap Hospital, 4600 Londonderry Road Harrisburg, Pa. 17109. Thanks for those prayers.

Ask, Seek and Knock: Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you." (NIV)

Don't you just love this scripture... "Ask and it will be given to you." These are the words of Jesus, my dear brothers and sisters. Jesus, who is the same today, is telling us if we need something, want something, I mean He just tells us to ask... Makes me mad at myself a lot of times as I set out to do things sometimes on my own, and don't stop to ask Jesus about it first. So how do we ask Jesus when we really do want something? Well, most often we call it praying, but for today, let's just call it talking to Jesus. Jesus is a friend of mine and yours also, and I don't know about you, but I like to talk to my friends. Where is a good place to talk to Jesus, I mean where should you go to just have a little talk with Jesus? How about right where you are right now? I mean I have had some great talks with Jesus from His throne to mine, or so to speak. One place is just not better than another. At one time I just loved to go to Hope United Methodist Church, Salem Chapel, and sit on a hard bench and talk with Jesus while looking at a big picture of Him on the wall. I could do the same at Bethel United Methodist Church out of Marysville also. The picture has a calming effect on me. It is not needed, just talk to Him... Ask, Jesus said, and it will be given to you. But let me tell you that you might get more than you ask for. Jesus knows us, He knows our hearts and He will give us what we ask for if what we ask for would not hurt us or others.

I want to ask you a question today. If you had, well, let me say, three things to ask for from Jesus, you know sort of like that old genie in the bottle that issues three wishes... First of all, Jesus does not limit us to this and Jesus is not a genie, and I am not trying to say that. Humor me for a tad here... If you had three things and only three things to ask Jesus for or to talk to Him about, what would they be? Come on, pick them quick. To me it would be a no brainer... First I would thank God for Jesus and for Jesus going to the cross. One down, two to go. Then the next would be for Salvation for everyone, everyone and that would include me. And then for God to let me work for Him till He called me home. Let me know what your Asking or talking to Jesus would be about.

Let's talk to Him now... Dear Jesus, let's have a little talk, and first let me thank you for listening to us. Then, Lord, let me ask if You might teach me today how to listen better than I talk. And Lord, thanks for looking after us, and our little flocks. Thanks for this line and our flock at the Bridges. And thanks for Carry The Light Ministries and all who help with it and help by using it. Lord, it needs givers and receivers. And Lord, please watch over our leaders, and Lord, may I ask You this today... Lord, open doors for all of us to go through to work for You. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.

Friday Aug. 26, 2011 A Price To Pay 5

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces. He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God. Smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED.

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. And as we pray today for all those who are heading into the fields of harvest for our Lord God this weekend, let us remember to pray for all those who are in line to be hit by the big storm coming up the East Coast... Again I want to thank all of you for your prayers for Dolores and for our ministry to move on as we have a wounded warrior being healed by God. Yesterday we had a sing-a-long at the Bridges and Wanda stepped in to play for Dolores and we moved forward for God. That is what it is all about, folks. Maybe it is a good time to say you never build your ministry or your church around people, you always build it around God.

A Price To Pay: Day 5: Isaiah 53:3 - He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces. He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. 4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God. Smitten by Him, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED. (NIV)

This week we started out by talking about there being a price to pay to follow Jesus, to be a real disciple of His. We looked at what the Bible has told us, and even if we go to today's world we still see there is a price to pay. Do you know that there will be no prayers on the program on 9/11/11 and the first responders who came running in those buildings ten years ago will not be there either. The New York City Mayor is trying to block all prayers... So, folks, when people do not want us to pray in school buildings, what do we do, well, we pray from home, or if we have business at the school, we pray while we are there... Brothers and sisters, the only time our Lord Jesus can be blocked anyplace is WHEN WE STOP TAKING HIM IN WITH US. YOU AND I, FOLKS. Just think about this, at the exact time on 9/11/11 that those planes went into the buildings and into the corn fields of Pennsylvania, if we, you and I, and all who follow Jesus, would just stop and do this... Do this, pray that Jesus taught us to pray. If at that exact time we would stop and just pray this...

Matthew 6:9 - After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father Who Art In Heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. 10 Thy Kingdome come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. (The Gideon's Edition)

Now that is the prayer that our Lord Jesus taught us to pray and would it be not great if at that time we did just that? Now you know I never, ever tell you to forward things, but what if this got started, what if at the time at the big 10 year event in New York, one person would start it and the rest would join in? Folks, as I talk about a price to pay for following Jesus this is just one of the prices that it costs us, those few, those from the ACLU who try and block us from praying. It can only be done if we, and I mean you and me, let it happen. I, Daniel W. Lehman, will not be SHUT UP, I am not going to pay that price... When I talk about "A Price To Pay" I want to bring this up... No one, I say no one, has ever, nor will they ever, pay the price our Lord Jesus paid for us... SOMEONE SAY AMEN.

We might be stripped of our dollars, our stuff, told we cannot pray, told we cannot wear a shirt to a place that had the word Jesus on it. But Jesus PAID IT ALL for me and for you and it is high time we start fighting back... GET THE WORD OUT, There will be prayer on 9/11/11 because if no one else does it, YOU AND I WILL and if you don't I will, and folks I am really not an I person, in clubs, in places I like team work, I never once saw an I in we or and I in us... But today I see it, and one by one we need to stand as an I so the we can be formed into the we... Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Yes just a few words from a song. Even if we pay big prices to follow Jesus, He paid it all for you and for me. His life, brothers and sisters, and all He has asked of us was to confess and believe (Romans 10:9/10) He just asks us to take the good news to others (Mark 16:15). Those of you who are in the sunny south and near Phil Enloe and the Harvest Church might just hear this scripture this weekend. Jesus was beaten for us, spit on for us, His scars on His back, those stripes that have been beaten in, are the same stripes that HEAL US...

Isaiah 53:3 - He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces. He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. 4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God. Smitten by Him, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by HIS WOUNDS. WE ARE HEALED. (NIV)

Please note the scripture is still the same, we are still healed by Jesus, even if you went to the doctors and the hospitals. GOD IS THE HEALER, THE GREAT HEALER AND WITHOUT HIM NO ONE GETS HEALED AND WITH HIM, ALL OF US WILL BE HEALED... Maybe not here on this earth, but trust and obey, and have faith for one day, one sweet day when we all get together, when we have our homecoming, we will get a new body and have no more pain and suffering. If God wants me to wait to be healed, I can handle that, for we are just passing through down here, Heaven or Hell, your choice is forever and ever... How about that... Jesus paid the price. He paid a debt He did not owe, and I owed the debt that He paid... Think about that, I want to quote it today.

"He paid a debt He did not owe, and I owed the debt that He paid." I am free today, I SAID I AM FREE TODAY BECAUSE HE PAID MY DEBTS... He said I would have a price to pay to follow Him, but as we found out this week, it was mild compared to the debt He paid for us.

"He paid a debt He did not owe, and I owed the debt that He paid." I said "He paid a debt He did not owe, and I owed the debt that He paid." I said "He paid a debt He did not owe, and I owed the debt that He paid." And brothers and sisters He did or is willing to do it for you.... YOUR CHOICE...... Let give thanks.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for saving us, and thanks for teaching us to pray, so Lord, if You don't mind, I just want to close this way... Our Father Who Art In Heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdome come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings and never, ever letting anyone tell you again that you can't pray. If they try, just give them a big old smile and do this.

Amen.

Love ya, see you next week. Pastor Dan

Thursday: Aug. 25, 2011 A Price to Pay 4

Jesus said: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'give me my share of the estate,' so he divided his property between them."

It is Thursday and a beauty at that. God is so good, so let's just start out with a praise report on Dolores... Dolores had her surgery yesterday and according to the doctors it went just wonderfully. Praise be to God, thank you. She was in the operating room for what seemed like a long time. It was nearly three hours. Her kneecap had to be put back and then stitched into place. I think she received just the lower half of the knee. Remember this is her third right knee. So please keep praying.

God is good, please also pray today for Troy who has a drinking problem, and pray please for Sonshine Ministries who help those like that. Our son Matthew lives at Sonshine. Praise God for their outreach. Today is also the day we pray for schools and for families, and please pray for the family of God. God is so good, and each day we must walk with Him, searching out the lost and bringing them in.

A Price to Pay!: Day 4: Luke 15:11 - Jesus said: "There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, 'give me my share of the estate,' so he divided his property between them." (NIV)

If I were to ask you today if you were a prodigal son or daughter, I would think a lot of you would say, "Yes, Pastor Dan, I was one of those." Just to set the record straight, I once was lost, but now I am found. While the story in the Bible talks about a man who went to his father and asked for his share of the estate, I did not do that, but I did walk away from God. Now let me just say this right up front. You might be from a very well blessed family, meaning you have a lot of wealth, dollar wealth, in your family and when your loved ones pass on and all goes well you should receive a lot of dollars.

I want to talk to you today about how God gave this story to me in a different way. As the story goes in the Bible, when the one son decides to walk away from his family he asks to take his share of what might be coming to him upon the death of his family.

"I was raised in a church," and was trained up in the way of the Lord, and as you folks all know I had wonderful parents, and yes, I was a mamma baby, oh, how I loved (and still do) love my mamma. And when we had the big accident back in the 50's I was lost. And yes, I became that lost son, I did not ask for my share of the estate, for we did not have money, and I did not turn to a life of crime, just a life of sin and shame. Yes, if I could, I would love to be able to take those years back and live them out for God. I would do things that were so wrong with God and I knew better, and in fact there were times I would pray to God to be forgiven for the sin I was about to do. Yes, did you hear me on that one? I would pray, dear father in heaven, I am about to sin, please, please forgive me. So I remembered that I needed to pray. Can any of you relate to that one? I was a good provider when it came to going to work, but I was not around to attend ball games and school stuff. And I missed out on all those years of just praising God.

I want to mention this, which occurred last year right before Christmas. It was a busy day at our ministry food panty and we were sorting food and loading it into cars... I hugged my one daughter and said to her something like this... "Do you know we are giving away your inheritance?" And my daughter, and she sort of spoke for the family, said, "That's ok dad, we will be just fine, we have Jesus."

Of course a lot of people support the Food Pantry and in no way am I referring that it is all our dollars that go into the food in the pantry. The truth, the plain truth is, it is all God's food we are giving to the poor and needy.

Anyway, let me get back to the story of the lost son, in this case, me. Slowly I would find myself being called back to God. I would talk to pastors who would be at our service stations for repairs. It is fun to look back and see how the different pastors would handle my questions. Some would give me great answers, and invite me to their churches on Sunday, while others would be more interested in reading the daily paper. Some would talk to me about love and the love of Jesus, while others seemed to just not say much at all. When I look back I see that God might have been using me to put some strength into those pastors. Now you who know me, know I am a blue eyed white guy, and was raised United Brethren. It seems like the ones that would spend the most time with me were the black pastors and the nuns from the local Catholic School, St. Margaret Mary. I was invited to services at "black churches" and was made to feel mighty welcome. The nuns would talk to me about hope and faith through Jesus. And folks, before this day, and as God is feeding me this message, I never had looked at it as God using me to open doors for those pastors and sisters. God is good. Folks, let me inject this right now. We, as Christians, have people placed before us each day. In the doctors office, in hospitals, in the food stores. If you do not find people in the food store and in offices that are hurting, that need comfort, then you are shopping with your eyes closed.

I was a lost son, but I am happy to say I have been back for years and I get to do a lot of witnessing at stores, and in offices while waiting for the doctors. I pray that if you were a "drifter', one who drifted from God, that you are back, and I pray that God will open doors for you to go through and that you will go through them. For one of those doors, one of those places where you might find a person who is lost, you might be working on and praying with someone just like I once was, for I once was lost in sin, but I was found, and I was saved by Jesus. Led in by some of the most unlikely people at the time... God is good, and beside coming back, I learned from it. Folks, in life we are going to mess up, we are going to have events where we might be attending where we are thinking what am I doing here, and then God will have you talking with someone who will give you strength and you will pull from that and you will feed off to them. You will find some other Christians and will witness to each other.

So a lost child, well, this might be a different way of looking at it. But remember as you walk each day, there are people out there who are lost, and need prayer and you can be talking to them. God is good, just keep Him in your mind daily.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for taking care of Dolores and please now help her heal up so she can get back in that suit and back in the pantry, I guess what I am saying is so she can get back to working full time again for You... And Lord, today I pray for our schools, our school families, and our online families, and also the family of God. Use us this day, bring us back to Jesus. AMEN.

Now go forth and share those blessings... and maybe we can put this tune on your mind, heart and lips today... and I want you to know this. My mind is tired today, and this message might be scrambled a tad, I am weary but God is in charge. In a few short hours we are going out singing for the Lord, Wanda Crockett will be at the piano and we will go forth. I want you to know that I love You, all of you... Pastor Dan: Now let's sing and remember this, regardless of where you are standing, you are indeed STANDING ON HOLY GROUND.

We are standing on Holy ground. And I know that there are angels all around. Let us praise Jesus now. We are standing in His presence on Holy Ground.

We are standing on Holy ground. And I know that there are angels all around. Let us praise Jesus now. We are standing in His presence on Holy Ground.

We are standing on Holy ground. And I know that there are angels all around. Let us praise Jesus now. We are standing in His presence on Holy Ground.

Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place. Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place.
Omnipotent Father of Mercy and grace, Thou Art Welcome in This place.

Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place. Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place.
Omnipotent Father of Mercy and grace, Thou Art Welcome in This place.

Have a blessed day, brothers and sisters. I pray my mind will be back in better shape tomorrow...
I LOVE YOU........

Wednesday Aug. 24, 2011 A Price to Pay 3

Wisdom is supreme, therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Good Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, good old Wednesdays, the day of the week we highlight prayers for the unsaved and we pray that God will help us to repent and will use us in the fields of harvest to bring in the lost... Yes, folks, and I just think we need to start on this mission clean, so let us just pray right now for God to clean us from our sins and put us to work bringing in the lost... Also today is the big day for Dolores, at 2:15 PM she is scheduled to have her right knee replaced (for the third time in about six years.) Please keep her in your prayers. Please pray also for the food pantry as letters are now being drafted for our annual appeal.

Dear Father in Heaven, I have had my shower this morning, but Lord, I am still dirty for I am a sinner in need of cleaning. So, dear Lord, wash me over again, and Lord, help me repent of those sins. Lord, it is hard not to sin, as much as we try it seems there is evil all around us and it is easy to get caught up in it, even if it is just in our thoughts. Lord, please help us to repent and stay clean as we work for You in bringing in the lost. Lord, I hurt but I want to wade into the water, go in deeper and deeper to bring out those who have not come forth. Lord, we want to work for You, help us, open doors for us and help us go through working for You. Lord, we had an earthquake yesterday and people ran and ran. Where are they going to run when You return? Lord, there will be no place to run and hide, it will be too late, so help us, dear Lord, to get the word out... Lord, help us not to scare people when we tell them they must be born again. I am happy, Lord, that I am born again and I give thanks to You for dying for me... But I need to work even harder for You. Lord, Lord, help me, help us. And Lord, Dolores belongs to You, please take care of her. In Jesus wonderful Name, Amen.

A Price To Pay: Day 3: Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is supreme, therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. (NIV)

"Talent on loan from God" (Rush Limbaugh), and folks, talent is on loan from God and it can be taken back at any time. General Motors and Ford are not the only makers that do recalls.. Think about it, each and every one of us, will be recalled by our maker. There is no way around it. And folks, you will not receive a recall notice in the mail. However, today you are getting a recall notice by computer, and folks, I would say that you get more than one notice. If you go to a good church and there are churches that are, well, not good, and some in the middle of the road, and there are good ones, and if you go to a good church you will hear the pastor and guest speakers talk about recalls. Oh, they might not put it in words like I do, but they will tell you about being born again, and what you must do to be saved. Maybe a good sign for a reader board in front of a church would be "learn about your recall this week." Oh, and you know when we are told about a recall notice on us, we need to repent of those defects. No one is going to come out and take a wrench to your brain and remove it and put in a new brain that has Wisdom. God has given you a brain with wisdom and also understanding, you just need to get it working for you and for God.
How are you going to take the word of the Lord to the unsaved today? You are going to work on that, right? I mean after all you don't want to put it off. Think about it, there are a lot of unsaved people around you, maybe even in your family, or a dear friend. Or maybe, just maybe, now listen to this... maybe the one who really needs the salvation message today is the one who looks back at you when you shave. (Ladies, when you put on your lipstick.) (I am not saying a thing about that ladies mustache, you are trying to get me into trouble.) Anyway, what if the trump sounds tonight, what if the Lord should be sent back by God our loving Father? No second chances here, folks...

I talked about a price to pay to follow Jesus as a disciple, did that on Monday and Tuesday. That price could be just the loss of family or friends or property as you step out in faith with and for Jesus.

But what about that price you pay if you have not been saved and you miss the call? What if you are out working to get others saved and you have not gotten yourself cleared and your name is not in that big book? I told you this story before, about the preacher who offered Dolores and I his room as we came off the road on our big cycle. We had been caught in a rain storm, and were sitting under the carport of a motel we could not afford. This man walked past, said hello and went in and checked in. After a while he came out, offered us his room key and seemed to be walking about five feet in the air. He told us the story of how he had been preaching and had a church and all. He was saying all the right words to his flock, except he was not saved. Then it happened, he attended a service and was led to the Lord... GOD IS SO GOOD. This preacher man had just found the Lord, even though he was working for Him for years, he just found Him and brought Him into his heart.

I have seen men working as auto mechanics that just were not good mechanics, I have seen doctors that I would not take my cat to. And I have eaten some really bad food, cooked by big name chefs. But wait a minute, I am telling you about a preacher man who did not know the Lord... Well he did not, but he learned of Him and He was really saved. And He was walking on the clouds... His love was now deep for the Lord...

Where do you stand today... ARE YOU SAVED? Before you go to work for the Lord, go to the mirror and take a deep look. ARE YOU BORN AGAIN? I pray you are, I know I am. I love Jesus, I really do. How do you know if you are saved... HOW, YOU ASK? You will have changed, your life will not be the same. You will be different, people who knew the old you will be saying, something happened to our friend... He is different... God is good, and you will be walking with your feet not hitting the floor (just a term folks). The old you will be gone and the new you will be there... Not sure, call me, 991 0754. not sure call me 991 0754. Not sure, call me 991 0754.

Now go forth and share the word of Jesus with others... FOR YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN AND ONCE YOU ARE, guess what, you will want to share your blessings... yes, you will. love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Aug. 23, 2011 A Price To Pay 2

Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.'"

Happy Tuesday to you, my dear brothers and sisters, direct from the Southern Location of the North Pole.

Today we center our prayers on those cures for health problems. So pray for those doctors who work in the laboratories, pray that they work with God, for that is the only way that the cure will be found.

God is so good, God is so good, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes, there are cures out there, and when it is God's will, He and only He will lend that talent to man to invent these things. As Rush has often stated, "Talent on loan from God." And that is how we get our talent, a loan from God.

One talent that God has loaned all of us is to be able to talk to Him, through His Son Jesus. Today, well, let's start right now, and let's just talk, talk or type as this case is to Jesus. Nothing fancy, and then as you go through your day, I ask you to talk to Jesus, and maybe even sing this little song to get started... Ready...

Holy Spirit, Thou Art welcome in this place, Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place. Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace, Thou art welcome in this place.

Holy Spirit, Thou Art welcome in this place, Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this place. Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace, Thou art welcome in this place.

Good Morning, Dear Jesus, We here on this line just want to talk to You a tad this day. We want to, well, we want to buddy up with You. You have given us another day, and a beauty at that. So, Dear Jesus, I, we, want to give back to You just to show You that we appreciate the day. Jesus, we do not want to waste it, we want to talk with You and walk with You and we want to help others in Your name... I, dear Jesus, and I know there are many on this line are ready to work with You and for you. We know that time is drawing near for we see what is going wrong in our very own neighborhoods. So, Lord, guide us, help us, and Lord, may we start today by asking You to clean us from our sins, and helping us to repent. Lord, even if we are not talking to You at the minute, please talk to us, let us hear You. Speak to our hearts as we travel today on the section of the earth You put us on... Lord Jesus, we love You... And we just want to have a talk with You and a walk with You and to work for You. Help us to be the host of the banquet and as people gather to eat, tell them about Jesus... Tell them about Your saving grace... Today I just want to close this prayer differently. I just want to say, I love You, and thanks for hearing from us today. And Lord, we might be off tune, but we are going to sing to You...

Holy Spirit, Thou Art welcome in this place, Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome in this place. Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace, Thou art welcome in this place.

Holy Spirit, Thou Art welcome in this place, Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome in this place. Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace, Thou art welcome in this place.

A Price To Pay: Day 2: Jesus Replied: Luke 14:16 - "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come for everything is now ready.'" (NIV)

I invite you to take time to read Luke 14:15/24 and find out the complete parable of the Great Banquet. But I want to just talk to you about maybe a small banquet or even a good old cookout. Has it ever happened to you, you want to have a big event, maybe a dinner and you invite a lot of people, but those people, even though the dinner is free, and you told them in advance, do not get back to you. It is getting near the event and you have not heard from so many of the people. You know, you know that the date was open when you started to get things together, and you have worked long, long hours to get things together. Then the excuses start, and the phone starts ringing, I am sorry, but something has come up, I can't come to your big event. Now you have one call it seems after the other. You have made plenty of food for the event, you worked and cooked up Turkey Corn Soup, Veggie Soup made with steak, You have hand rolled meatballs, and BBQ ready for a bun. You have made potato salad, and even called your friend Grant to make some homemade potpie.

Plus you will have hotdogs and sauerkraut and lots of pie and cake. But sorry, no booze. Maybe that is why some have gone away, because your event was dry. So you put out the word, lots of food, folks, and not many are coming, so you just dropped the word in the neighborhood and invited in your neighbors. They came, your singer came, God's voice was heard and many who heard the word took time to hear more of it. Maybe some were even saved, but that is up to Jesus, that is His deal, we only held the event.

As you read this Parable of the Great Banquet it is very plain to see that there will be many that will not make it to heaven because they do not accept the invitation to the big event. Yes, we have been invited to come to the feet of Jesus to be saved, and yes, Jesus died on the cross and was risen from the dead for this event... But we said to ourselves that those folks will have another big event and we can go to that one. But this one, well I am going to do something else. Old Joe is having a beer party for a football game tailgate party. So some went for the booze and ball, but others, well, they came to Jesus, and what we get will be better, much better than the booze and ball. In fact it will be better then Grant's Potpie, and that Turkey corn soup and BBQ, for what we are going to get when we come to the big banquet will be JESUS... and someone said AMEN, AMEN, AMEN.

Go read the lesson today, brothers and sisters, what I wrote is just the picture I got from Jesus today. Now I would like to tell you to share your blessings, and someday, someday, please call me and we will sit down for a dog or burger and talk about Jesus... We will share His love with each other... and maybe even sing a tad... like this... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday: Aug. 22, 2011 A Price To Pay!

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a wonderful, beautiful weekend, just great.

It is Monday and the day we set aside to pray for our leaders, our veterans, military, police, firefighters, ambulance attendants, and all those who work so hard to keep us safe and healthy.
Let's put our prayers at the top this morning, before I go to the message...

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and I pray that all others on this line will just join me in saying that again, Father, I love You. Father, please watch over our President and all of our leaders, and please be with those leaders from our states and local governments. Lord, Thank You for our veterans, and please, Lord, take care of all of them, some, Lord, are aging and are from WW2, while others are wounded and just 18 or 19 years old. Lord, they all need Your touch. Lord, heal minds that have been bent and twisted due to wars, and Lord, please, please bring peace. Father, watch over our current military and please be with our police and fire fighters here in our great Nation. Lord, watch over those on the ambulances and those that fly the skies helping the injured. Lord, please bless our family docs and also, Lord, bless those doctors we also call vets as they take care of our animals and pets. Lord, watch over our leaders please and watch over our "little flock" as you referred to it... Father, You have given us Your Kingdom and we thank You for it. Help us to repent of our sins this day and move forward in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

A Price to Pay!: Day one: Luke 14:26 - "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." (NIV)

Ok, I am a disciple of Jesus, I follow Him and I want to work hard for Him for the rest of my life so I must "hate" all of you! Well, that is what the Bible tells us, right? Well, not really. That word hate is a lot of word, and what it really means is we must love others as always, we must just love Jesus much, much more. Back in my days of Sunday School at the 29th Street United Brethren Church at 29th and Derry Streets, I was asked this question. Now I loved my mamma very, very much, in fact I truly was a mamma's baby (a real cute one I must say). One week in Sunday School our teacher was talking about our love for Jesus and asked if we loved anyone more than Jesus and of course little Danny said, yes, I love my mamma more. Now it sort of stumped the teacher a tad, and he said that it was a different kind of love. Folks, it really is not a different kind of love, but it is a lot deeper.

In those two great commandments and let's take a look at them right now.

Matthew 22:37 - Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment 39 and the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself." (NIV)

So we see here that the greatest commandment is to Love the Lord your God. And the second is, well, like it, but it is second and it means to love all others. But God is first, I had to love God above my Mamma, and I learned to do that. So when the Bible in Luke is talking about hate, that is a term used to show that Your love for God must be above that love you have for others such as family. Now that should make it clear, but maybe not. You see, God does not want you to hate anything but evil, and He really does want you to hate that evil. When we really decide to follow Jesus, not just stand and say it for an hour on Sunday morning, but really follow Him in the way you live then you must turn from your old way of life. Now sometimes you will need to make a choice, you will have family and all of us who want to live for Jesus want our family to be with us, and folks, sometimes it is hard for your family to follow. Here is one reason... Let's take me, I walked away from God, and in some ways, my family also. So now that I am back, and I am sure the family likes me better this way, but I think sometimes they say, so now you want us to follow you and God. I hope you can follow me on that one. I truly love each and every one of our children, I really do, and also our friends, but Jesus is first and since I put Jesus first in my life, things have gone much better. There are times when you must put your arms around family and friends and tell them what they are doing is wrong. I had to do that with my brother when that big hunk of a man, the strongest man I ever knew, called me and told me he was dying of cancer. I had to put my arms around him and tell him he had to give up daily sin. He did, and within a few days I married him and his wife.

Folks, you cannot say you are a disciple of the Lord, you are working full time for Him and then on Saturday nights you go out drinking after a night out with the guys. You don't get a day off from following Jesus. Hey, you get the day of rest, but not the day off. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!

This week we are going to look at some of the costs some of the things you might have had to set aside, to go to work for Jesus... Do you want to share any with me on this prayer line? When you became born again, you came to Christ, when you when to work for Him, what did you need to put aside? Let me know...

Now let's go forth and share those blessings, those wonderful blessings that God has lent to you. And gosh, I want to do this again, I just love to end on this note... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art.
HOW GREAT THOU ART, HOW GREAT ----- THOU ART!!!

Friday Aug. 19, 2011 No Worries. 5

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.

Good get to the Fields of Harvest and to work for the Lord, Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday, HAPPY FRIDAY, folks, it is beautiful here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and would you believe that old Santa is getting very busy already. Ok, enough about Santa, we are just not going to worry about that, just keep moving forward. Pastor Tony has been transferred to Manor Care from the hospital for rehab and he really needs our prayers. Likewise pray for his dear wife Ruby. Please keep praying for Dale and Blanch and pray that the property settlement goes well for Josh this afternoon... God bless your new home Josh, take good care of your mamma...

No Worries: Day 5: Luke 12:35 - Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. (NIV)

God led me to this scripture and it took me a tad to put it together in a message about worries, or in trying to talk to you about No worries. Again I say that one of the hardest things for all of us to do is to stop worrying about things... I have told you in the past, I have bundled up worries, and went to the altar of churches and prayed about these things. I put them at the feet of Jesus and prayed and prayed and prayed, and then when finished praying I got up, picked up my bundle of worries and went back to my seat. What good does it do to take something to God if you really do not have the faith in Him to let Him take care of the worries or help you deal with them?

In this scripture today, Luke 12:35 tells us to be dressed and ready for service. I think that a lot of our worries is that we are just not ready. I am talking here things in life that cause worries, and one is of course paying those bills. How many people have what we call a rainy day fund, or money back for the roof if it starts to leak? Most often we need all of what we have to pay the bills. I mean if you are one who goes to the food store a lot, you can see the prices going up daily.
Let's talk some about being dressed and ready. When it comes to money, do you have a budget and do you do your best to follow it? I find it hard to understand and I talk to people about it, but people come to the food pantry in need of food, and of course we help them, but you can smell smoke, so I talk to them about it. Do you know folks, if you give up one pack of smokes you can buy 12 boxes of Mac and Cheese and most kids love Mac and Cheese. MEN, STEP FORWARD PLEASE... We are to head up our house under God and when we head it up under God, then and only then can it become a home. But are we dressed and ready to do this? Dressed and ready MEN, I am talking about a plan here on how you are going to take care of those kids... MEN, STEP FORWARD PLEASE. If you must work at the food store bagging, and then go work the night shift at Mickey Dee's pumping out burgers to feed your family, GET IT DONE. God wants us to do this... LADIES, YOUR TURN... Single Mom, whose fault is it? It makes no difference whose fault it is, you need to STEP FORWARD, PLEASE, and you need to be dressed and ready to take care of the family. If your X or the sperm donor of your kids is absent from the picture, it is up to you to take care of your family, UNDER GOD OF COURSE. LADIES, STEP FORWARD, PLEASE... Go and read the scripture, "Be dressed and ready for service." Gentlemen and Ladies, if you are working with God and you are ready, things will go better, not always perfect, mind you, but it will go better for that is the way God works for those who love Him. Folks, you must put God first in your life and then your family, yes, put God first in your family.

GENTLEMEN AND LADIES, STEP FORWARD PLEASE. No place in the Bible have I found a place where it said we are too poor to help others. In fact if we give from what we have been blessed with, our blessings will grow. This scripture, and I want to repeat it... Luke 12:35 - Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.

What is God telling me about keeping your lamps burning? Well, folks, God is the lamp unto our feet and we are to be Christ-like, (Christian = Christ-like) so we should keep our lamps burning and we should be doing it for God. Have you ever tried to go through your home on a dark night with no lights on at all? You bust your little piggy that goes to market on the corner of the bed, but if you have your lamp burning you can see the way. Poor talk, you might say, but no, it is not, you need to keep your lamp of God burning. One big reason to keep that lamp of God burning is so that others can see Christ in you.. Don't you want your kids to see Christ in you? And what is the Bible talking about when it tells us we need to be ready to open the door immediately when the master returns from the wedding banquet? That one to me is simple... If we are not ready when the Lord knocks on our door for the final call, IT IS TOO LATE FOR US TO GET READY. If Jesus were to show up at your door right now, would you need to get out the Bible and dust it off and put away the Playboy and Playgirl books? OR would you be ready to open the door? When the Lord returns, we need to be ready, not getting ready, we just out and out need to be ready to go. So as this week ends, let us get rid of one worry and know that we are "Born Again." Folks, we need to be dressed and ready to serve the Lord, to do His work, to help others to be saved, but before we can really do that work for God, we need to have our own house in order, we need to be dressed and ready and let me tell you now, God has called on us, He might not have called us home, but He has called us into His service, to be working for Him... Let's pray...

Dear Father in Heaven, please, please forgive me of my sins and hear the prayers of others as they ask for their sins to be forgiven. Help us to help others, help us to get into the fields for You and work on those that need the word, help us work at our own families. Help us, Lord, Lord, help us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, being dressed and ready and sharing your blessings with others... Love ya, Pastor Dan... and yes, I am going to do it again, because I need to do it again... So come on and HIT IT --

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art.

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou Art, How great Thou Art.
HOW GREAT THOU ART, HOW GREAT THOU ART!!
See you next week. Tomorrow a double wedding... pray for it please, Thank you.

Thursday Aug. 18, 2011 No Worries. 4

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor."

Good Thursday, let's get down to praying for our schools and family day, my dear brothers and sisters.

Please pray also today for Dale and Blanch and also for Pastor Tony and Ruby. Blanch, along with her husband Dale, are members of our flock at the Bridges. Blanch has been admitted to the Holy Spirit Hospital as a result of a buildup of fluid in her body. Pastor Tony, who I always refer to as a Pastor's pastor has been admitted to the same hospital with severe abdominal pains. Please pray for Dale and also for Ruby as they stand by their spouses. I must tell you about the Holy Spirit Hospital. I had two major back operations at that hospital, and I always looked forward to my morning visit from a visiting nun. As you know I love to sing, and even hurting after the operations I would be laying in my bed singing about and to the Lord. Well a couple of those nuns loved to sing also, and we would get it going in the morning and the halls would be ringing out with worship songs and songs of praise.

You know what I am talking about, nothing starts out a slow day than just doing something like this right out of the blue... Hey, we closed like it yesterday, come on and HIT IT...

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How Great Thou Art, How Great Thou Art. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, HOW GREAT THOU ART, HOW GREAT THOU ART!!!

I feel better now, gosh, if I would have left that stuck in me, it might have hurt.

No Worries: Day 4: Luke 12:32 - "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor." (NIV)

This verse that God pointed out to me this morning, I think fits us well. As we talk about No Worries, which also can mean "Do not be afraid," we find the term "little flock" being used. Surely we, compared to some, could call this a little flock, and truly it is a very small mailing to about 400 people. However, that could grow if my messages were forwarded, but that is not for me to be concerned about, God will take care of that. Our flock at The Bridges is also small. Have you ever watched a shepherd with his flock, or let's say a farmer with his animals. There are very large farms with lots and lots of animals, and then there are small farms with just a few animals, does God not want those animals on the small farms also taken care of, and does that shepherd who has the small flock trusted to him have just as much concern about them? On today's market when it comes to churches we have big churches, mega churches and we still have some of those circuit churches where the pastor goes from church to church on a Sunday morning. More than likely he drives maybe a Mustang instead of riding on one. When God assigns a pastor to a church or in our words today, assigns a shepherd to a flock of sheep, the size of the flock should not be considered when getting the job done. Both pastors have the same job to do, and that is be sure the flock is ready to get into heaven. Yes, believe it or not, it is all about Salvation and then getting the flock to work for God once you are pretty sure they are saved. Sometimes there is more work at the small church for at the big one, often there is extra help. More pastors have been hired. For me, I still like the small church setting, and really like even going back and singing those old hymns. Something about just going back in time, and worshiping our Lord God. When growing up at the 29th Street (Harrisburg, Pa) United Brethren Church I can remember my mamma taking me to Wednesday night prayer meetings, and often we little ones would be asleep on the pews before the service was over... Funny we did not need playrooms back then you just went to church with your parents.

As I look back at the scripture... "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor." Do you see in it all that is there... Do not be afraid, little flock, or do not be afraid little one, your Father in heaven has been pleased to GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM... God gave it all to us, Think about it now, He created the heavens and the earth and then He more than just trusted us to use it, He gave it to us, all of us.

Then He tells us, sell your possessions and give to the poor. That is hard to do, for as you give to others, God keeps giving back to you. The other year when people were pulling in for food, and we had a big crew here loading cars, I remember talking to our daughters (we have two), and I was pointing out to them, we are loading their inheritance in those cars. And they said, that's ok dad, keep it up.

So I call on all of you today, do not worry, do not be afraid little flock, for your Father in heaven has been pleased to give you The Kingdom...

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks so much for trusting me to do work for You. I promise You this day in front of the little flock on this line and the little flock at the Bridges that You have trusted to us, to work it for You for as long as Dolores and I shall live. We will also share these little flocks with others who have come on board wanting to help. I also will need Your help on this one, Lord, and also the support of all those on this line and at the Bridges to support this effort in prayer daily. I want to repent of my sins and work for You till the setting sun of my life. I want to also support my pastor friends who have also been given flocks to tender, friends like Pastor Larry, and young Tim who works so hard for the Lord. Lord, help us to know when You open new doors and to keep working into them... And now, Lord, please watch over our schools and our families, bless those bus drivers who are about to enter traffic with up to 90 little ones behind them, and keep them safe. And Lord, bless those teachers and office workers, and bless those working with the special needs children. And Lord Jesus, I need to confess this right now and I pray others would do this also. Lord Jesus, "I love You." I love You very, very much and I pray that my love for You grows more and more each day... And although I know I will slip and fall from time to time, help me up. And Lord, when others slip and fall, put me in place to help them up. Lord, Your love for me, well, Lord, it is so special, thanks for dying for me, so I might have a path to heaven... In Jesus' name, please heal Pastor Tony and also Blanch as you watch over Dale and Ruby. And again, wow, Lord, thanks for taking care of our friend Ron... in the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

I just have to do this, I just have to... and Duane, I want to hear those high notes clean from your heart to mine... Tim, take the low part... sing lead with me, Neal... Doug, just jump on in...

Tuesday Aug. 16, 2011 No Worries 2

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. To the one who remembered us in our low estate. His love endures forever. And freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever. And who gives food to every creature. His love endures forever.

Happy, Happy Tuesday, brothers and sisters. Wow, another day, boy, do they seem to fly past. I look back at my days at John Harris High School, in Harrisburg, Pa., back when the old dead sea was still just sick, and the streets were dirt, and I can still remember that old clock on the wall. If my memory serves me right we were dismissed from school at 3:05 PM. In my home room beside the clock hung a sign that read, time will pass, will you? Oh, how slow that clock would move, I would count down the seconds and when the bell rang, out the door to my Hotrod Ford and off to work so I could afford that 18.9 cents per gallon gas. Then I graduated from school (surprise I made it) and the clock went into high gear, in fact, we now use the clock as a big fan (kidding about that one). But really, does it not seem like we just got out of school yesterday? So many things have changed, so many.

Hey, it is Tuesday and the day we pray for people to be healthy, pray for them not to worry, pray for people to pray and come to God. God is love, and as noted above His Love endures.
Please keep praying for Vicki for her health issues. And please pray for the one who has had some heart related issues and pray for her husband also for breathing problems. I have been asked to please pray but not to post names. God sorts it out, folks.

No Worries: Day 2: Psalm 136:1 - Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. 23 To the one who remembered us in our low estate. His love endures forever. 24 And freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever. 25 And who gives food to every creature. His love endures forever. (NIV)

In my opening I remarked about that when I was back in school, and something about my Hotrod Ford. Things have changed so much, gas was just under 19 cents per gallon, my hotrod was a flathead V8 that got over 20 miles per gallon. Schools were good and people cared for each other. Things were nice, houses had locks that used keys that fit each house and your milkman would put the milk in the fridge if you wanted him to. Trash was collected and put in land fills, garbage (food stuffs) were picked up by the garbage man and fed to hogs, and those ashes were stored to put on the bottom of our hill we sledded on. Most things were different, very different. We never had a TV until I was in Junior High School and of course it was black and white and we had Rabbit Ears on top of the set. You had one telephone in the house, and more than likely it was a party line. (Yes, we listened in to our neighbors, what else could a brat like me do?) You wore hand-me-down clothes, and our parents would can things from the garden and then trade with friends. Neighbors helped each other, and a young lady in school by the name of Patricia Wells helped me daily with my homework or I would still be in school watching the clock.
Well, things changed, and changed and changed and with that came higher costs, why, gasoline went all the way up to about 50 cents per gallon by the late 60's and bread was nearly a quarter a loaf. And as things grew and grew and changed and changed those worries and heartaches started to kick. Divorce rates were on the rise, more than likely, and this is my thinking, because for the first time men and women were working side by side in the work place. Things sure have changed but one thing for sure... HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER. Yes, by all means, please read, yes, please read Psalm 136.

And I love this one also...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)

Folks, things change, we change, prices change, looks change, food changes, everything changes except for one thing... OUR GOOD LORD and let's look at it again...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

And in Psalm 136: HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER.

Now some of the really neat things and we will get into more and more of them this week which should help you not to worry... First, God knew us before, I said before, we were in the womb, and God knows how many hairs we have on our head. (He has more to count on my head than Pastor Larry's but that again is changing as for Him to keep track of mine He must check out my brush.)

God knows everything about each and everyone of us, He knows all of our sins and all of our good deeds, and regardless of which He is looking at, HE LOVES US AND THAT WILL NOT CHANGE, FOR and you remember this right... HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER.

Dear Father in Heaven, I am so glad You never change, I have changed so often and You have never failed me, even when I have failed you. You have loved me when I drifted and You were there for me when I came back, and while I was drifting You watched over me and you did the same for all of us. When You send the rains it rains on the garden of the ones who love You and the ones who hate You, because You love us all... I just want to say this to You and pray all of the readers today want to say it also... Thanks, God, for never changing and thanks for watching over me when I change... Please be with Vicki and her family... in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings, share your love of Jesus with others... I love ya, Pastor Dan.
