October 8, 2010 In The Beginning 5

And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."

Good Mark 16: 15 Day, my dear brothers and sisters. No, you look it up, but today is Friday and that should give you a hint. For today we pray for those who are working in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. Are you doing your share of the harvest? Please also keep praying for Vicki, for with all the health issues she is behind on her house payments. Zack and Dallas are now both out of ICU (really bad accident a month or so ago). Dallas is having memory problems, thinks he is back in 1998.

I wish that I would have kept a list of all those that we prayed for on this line that were in comas following serious accidents. Folks, God has healed so many people we have prayed for, and it is not us, not me, not this line, it is Jesus and only Jesus who does the healing, but folks, our prayers are being heard and answered... NEVER STOP PRAYING IN FAITH FOR THOSE ON OUR PRAYER LISTS. Amen.

In The Beginning 5: Genesis 1:20 - And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning the Fifth day. (NIV)

Questions on this fine morning and I bet all of you know the answers, but will you reply? These are not trick questions, nor are they related.

When was the last day here in the United States of America where over 3000 people were killed?

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Ok, let's look at the scriptures on this fifth day of creation, and please remember I am going to write tomorrow, yes I am going to work six days on this line and then like God I am going to rest on the seventh. What jumps out at you today? Well first, one thing that jumps out is once again God created all of these things by just speaking. One day not long ago, I was standing in the kitchen of dear friends Charles and Janet and looking at the beautiful birds feasting in their back yard. Some of the prettiest I have seen, little birds with pretty colors. In my back yard, crows, who do love me dearly because they deposit stuff on my cars. No need to explain "stuff" this morning.

Also I remember in my very young days being on a glass bottom boat down in the Bahamas and I remember seeing all those pretty fish. Now I also get to see fish and birds like these in retirement homes as many of them have big, and I mean big fish tanks and bird cages. Now I mention these pretty creatures of God's for this reason, God did not just create this world, He made it really beautiful (hey, he made me) (ok, he messed up once). Kidding aside, take a look around you someday and really, I mean really take time to look. Here at my house, even the weeds are pretty, and remember this, a weed is just a flower growing in the wrong place. Even the poison plants have some of the prettiest colors in the fall season. Watch them.

Ok what else jumps out beside the speaking of these things and the beauty of them? How about the fact that God provided for them before He made them. Think about it, He put things around for the birds to eat, as the seeds of those plants are also used for, and in fact those birds help spread the seed. Not being gross here, but the birds eat the seeds and some get through their system and get deposited other places with the fertilizer coming with them and they grow. I am not kidding on this, birds scatter a lot of the seeds. What else, God created all those fish that live in the seas, and yes, He set up the food chain there, and sorry to say that the bigger fish have little fish for lunch. And so it goes. What else did God do, well he answered the one question about the chicken and the egg... and He also when done once again found it good... "And God saw that it was good." And then He did this... He blessed them. Tomorrow day six. Please do your homework and answer those two questions.

Dear Father in Heaven, bless those this day who work in the fields of Harvest, be it the local pastors or those who travel to prisons and retirement homes, or to the streets here in America or in far off lands. Also for these three guys, dear Lord, bless them and their event this Saturday. Bless Dave, Duane and Neil, and keep them on the road, dear Lord. Be with those on our prayer lists also. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and loving others in the name of Jesus... Amen.
