The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Good let's pray for a cure morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, Tuesday and the day we pray for God to send us a cure for Cancer, heart problems, kidney failure, and all those other bad health things as He sent us a cure years ago for Polio. Be it sent thorough the wonderful hands of our medical people or just killed off by Jesus, it does not make a difference to me. Let's just pray it goes bye-bye. Pray for all those who have cancer. Kathleen, Ron, Dianne, etc.. For kidney failure, Blanch.
Creation Moves Ahead 2: Genesis 2: 4 - This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. 7 The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man because a living being. (NIV)
So what jumps out at you today? Here are a few things that just jump right out at me... First, if you recall last week in our six days of creation, God spoke creation into being. And God said, And God said, And God said, except for man and today we find out that God formed the man from the dust of the ground and Dan now has an excuse for having "ring around the collar." Did I really say that? Yes. When you stop laughing we will take the serious look. God did not speak man into being; He formed us men from the dust of the earth and God then took that first breath for us as He breathed into our nostrils. So God made us from dust, but folks, I want you to look back with me to last week.
Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in His own image. (NIV)
Now folks, I am not concerned that God made me from dust, because I am so happy that He created me in His Own Image. Folks, I want to sing part of this Bible School song to you... "Red or Yellow, Black or White, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the children of the earth." Folks, please note we have people of many colors and we are ALL made in the Image of God. So go run, I mean run to your mirror this morning and be very happy at what you see. Don't get down on yourself for God made you in His image. And if someone else does not like the way you look, shame on them. I can tell you right now that I love the way you all look and most of you I have never had eye to eye contact with. But if you are made in the image of God, and you are, well that is good enough for me. And if you want to know what I look like go to any mall the day after Thanksgiving and look at Santa. Then, picture this very, very pretty, small lady standing beside me, that would be Mrs. Claus. And our six children, four of mine and two of hers, one whom I adopted (the other one I love just as much) are all made in the image of God, as are you and your children... Let's just do this right now.
Thank You, Jesus, for caring enough to make us in Your Image, and Lord, I am so happy that Your Image is always good, even though it might look different in our eyes. Lord, we have known for a long time now and I am so happy about this, that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Thank You, Lord, for making us different for this earth sure would be boring if we all looked alike. In Jesus' name I give thanks for this... What a blessing You gave us, Lord. Amen.
What else jumps at you, folks? How about it has never rained, and again I ask you, when was that first rain? I did not hear from many of you on this last week. Please note that God has now set up the rivers and streams as they came up from the earth. When I was a child (back when the streets were dirt) I can remember how we would follow a little run that would be coming down off a hill. We would play in the waters and build small dams on those runs. We would follow them back to where they would come up out of the ground. It was called a spring. We would then make a small area around that spring for the water to pond in, and then laying on our bellies we would drink from them as a dog drinks. Then we would get up and bark at each other and keep playing. Ok, I am serious about all but the barking thing. God still has springs that feed the streams and the streams will feed larger streams, and they keep growing and growing till they get to the ocean.
You see how God set it up for all of us. Years ago when we would find those springs we did not understand how they got there, but I sure know now. At one time I owned a small farm, it had a spring house, with a place made to set milk cans for the milk tankers to pick up. The railroaders would stop there and fill their water containers as the railroad ran past the farm. We were also blessed to have that for if the electricity went out we could take the food from the frig and set it in the spring ponds inside that spring house. And the water was so good to drink.
And God is so good, tomorrow moving on. Come and find out all about how woman was made...
Lord, thanks for blessing this line and thanks for the messages... Love You, Lord. And Lord Jesus, I really want to please You this day by living for You. And Lord, on this personal note, help me tonight. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Go forth and share your blessings and knowing that you are indeed made in the Image of God... The next time someone asks you if you have ever seen the face of God, you can tell them YES...
Love ya, Pastor Dan.
