October 14, 2010 Creation Moves Ahead 4

And the Lord God COMMANDED the man "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Well, Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and can you just say PRAISE THE LORD THIS MORNING, AND say it thirty nine times? One each for the thirty three miners that were brought up from the earth and six times for the six workers who went down into the mine to help the miners get loaded. I watched and watched last night, but was saddened when they did not show those first responders coming up. But rejoice in God for all His doing, if it were not for God, those men would still be in the grave. Think of all those who worked hard, all "with talents on load from God" (quote by Rush). Without those God talents they would not be alive. God is Good...

Did you see her, did you see on ABC 27 the story of the lady going to climb a mountain for Down Syndrome? Well, that dear, dear sweet little blonde is "Little Allie", Allie Orner, who we have prayed for and prayed for when she was Congratulations Congratulations to Jim and Beverly Orner and other parents of Down Syndrome children for taking care of them... We will never know how many beautiful children with Down Syndrome are just "dumped" at birth (abortion) but we do know here is a little girl that is loved and loved and loved. Today on this families and schools day let us feature prayers for "Little Allie" and all other Down Syndrome children and the families who love these children so much and also for all the health care workers, school teachers and others who love these kids. To my daughter Danelle, I am proud of you for the way you love all children and still help those you had in class years ago (love you, Dad-e-o).

We have been blessed again... yesterday we helped a family from the Philipines get ready to send food to their family. We had the food on the shelves to do this, 100 boxes of mac and cheese, 25 pounds of spaghetti, 25 cans of spaghetti sauce, 25 cans of tuna, and 25 boxes of oatmeal. Without your help, those of you who support our mission, we could not do this. This is called sharing our blessings folks... GOD IS GOOD.

Creation Moves Ahead 4: Genesis 2:16 - And the Lord God COMMANDED the man "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." (NIV)

I could have called today's lesson, "Man loses a part," but I did not. Let me move on. What jumps out at you on this first scripture of today? Hint, I made the word big! This, folks, is what jumps out at me... The Lord God "Commanded" the man. This, folks, is the first commandment that I have found in the Bible. Folks, it is very clear to me that we have more than The Ten Commandments and The Two Great Commandments to follow, we have many others. Can you name one or two of them? Would you share them with me? You might have found ones that I have not. Here is another hint. Our name Carry The Light came from a commandment... Where in the Bible did our name come from?

One other thing that jumps out at me before I move on, the the fact that God furnished man all he needs to live, but told him not to touch one thing. Does that not happen today? God has laid down rules for us, and gives us plenty, but we often cross the line.

Genesis 2: 18 - The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." (NIV)

Now God had made all the animals and he brought them to the man for him to name them, but God went on from that. Listen to this.

Genesis 2:20 - But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the am, and he brought her to the man. (NIV)

Now what jumps out at you? What jumps out at me is that man can have all things, except that one tree, even the birds, fish, and animals, all of creation was man's but God saw that even with all of that man would not be happy. And also, I am sure that God already knew that if He wanted man to increase in number as in the animals, you need both sexes. No Adam and Steve here, folks, and that just should tell you how I feel about gay marriage and that lifestyle. I want you to look real close at Genesis 2:20. This is the first time that the name Adam was used. Also I want you to see the word helper. Men, a woman is not a slave, she is not just for sex, she is not your housekeeper, she is to be your helper, meaning you WORK TOGETHER ON THINGS. You talk about "slave labor", you just need to take a look at a working mother. Here is the way it works in a lot of families... Man gets up, gets a shower (I hope) and gets ready and goes to work... Woman gets up, gets the kids up, gets them breakfast, gets themselves ready, drop the kids at the school or sitter and then they go to work. After work man comes home, sits in their chair, woman picks up the kids, brings them home, more than likely has gone to the store on the way home, then gets supper ready while the man still sits in his chair. Woman feeds the cat and dog, while dinner is cooking and then she hears this voice... WHEN IS SUPPER READY?? Soon, dear, soon. Then after supper man returns to chair, farts and burps, and puts on the TV (did I say farts and burps?) Woman cleans the table, takes care of the dishes, and gets the kids ready for bed. Then she retires to a chair and man makes this statement... Want to make love? And now you know why the woman might just have a headache.

But folks, it should not be that way and in a lot of families it is not. Helpers in life share things and men and women, if we all would learn to put Jesus first in the home, we would find that it then works. Jesus first, then your spouse. Tomorrow that tree gets picked and we look at the first clothes of man and woman. Do you know what the fruit was that was picked from that tree? And what was the first clothes of man and woman?

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for being in the mine with the miners, and being with all and bringing up those folks... PRAISE YOU JESUS. And Lord, thanks for the Orner family and those like them and thanks for taking care of Baby Allie and all the other children with Down Syndrome. Lord, please help stop abortion. Please be with families and in our schools. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now and share your blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.
