October 22, 2010 The First Family 5

Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work the fields of harvest for our Lord God. Also pray for Vicki, I don't know what happened to her, I have not heard from her for a while now, she at one time updated me daily. (Just came in while I was writing, an update from Vicki and I will post it at the end of my message.)

We have been turned down from getting food from the big food bank in our area ... reasons, One we pray with all people who come for food, and we talk to them about Salvation, if we join the food bank we must "give up the right". We can pray with people only if they want it, but cannot hold back food if they don't pray. Folks, telling people about Salvation through our Lord Jesus is number one with our food pantry and they need food for their soul and then food for the belly. Next we would need to relocate our food pantry, as we cannot operate out of the basement of our home. They suggested we get a big truck and do a delivery food bank. Folks, with the help of God and all of you and others who help us collect food, we will go forward. We served over 100 families last Christmas and we have people coming all the time and up till now we have never turned anyone away... And WE WILL NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE JESUS!!! AMEN.

The First Family 5: Genesis 4:10 - The Lord said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth. 13 Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is more I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence. I will be a restless wanderer on the earth and whoever finds me will kill me." 15 But the Lord said to him, "Not so, if anyone kills Cain he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. (NIV)

THE FIRST MURDER!! And it is within the family. Today we look at the punishment from God. Let's see what jumps out at us today. Once again, and I cannot bring this out too often, God is talking to Cain. The Lord said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out from the ground." So God is talking and we might ask this question, how can blood cry out from the ground?

Hebrews 11:4 - By Faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. (NIV)

This might clear up some questions that came in early this week about Cain's gift not being accepted as Abel's gift was. Abel brought in the firstborn of his flock and the fat thereof. I had to research this out of other editions of the Bible, and I used the King James for that. With Cain, there is no mention of the first fruits of his crops. So I believe that showed the faith that Abel had in God, by giving off the top. Since the Bible does not tell us that Cain brought in from the first of his fruits of his labor, I think it showed lack of faith. You remember me talking about giving from the top and not just something that is left.

Hebrews 12:24 - To Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (NIV)

The blood of Abel spoke out of the ground about justice while the blood of Jesus spoke/speaks/and will always speak, about forgiveness and reconciliation. Then we see that The Lord put Cain under a curse and drove him from the ground he worked. Now he drove him from the ground, meaning if Cain would stick around there he would find that the ground would no longer bear the fruit for Cain to take care of himself. The Bible also states that the ground anyplace would not bear fruit for Cain. I think this points out that the blood of his brother is not just on that spot where he died, but all over. As we all know or should know that the blood of our Lord Jesus that was spilled out for the sinners of the world, or all of us, does not just lay on the ground under the cross. We do not need to go to Mount Calvary to receive the blood of Jesus, we can receive Jesus right where we are right now, we do not need to receive Him in a church, or at the foot of the cross, you can receive it right now at your computer. You can be washed clean by the blood of Jesus which speaks to us from the ground, speaks to us from The Cross, speaks to us by The Word of Jesus in the Bible and speaks to us right from Jesus BECAUSE HE IS ALIVE AND WELL!! AMEN.

Now God also told Cain he would be a "restless wanderer of the earth." And Cain told the Lord, "my punishment is more then I can bear." Cain said he would be driven from his land and would be hidden from the presence of God and worried about being killed by others. But the Lord told him that it was not so and marked Cain so others would not kill him. The Lord also set a punishment to any that would come after Cain and kill him. Cain went on to have a family and I invite you to read about that on your own, in Genesis 4: 17/26.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the message of today, and Lord, please bless those on our prayer lists today, those working in the fields of Harvest for You. Lord, you planted on my mind once again about Salvation through the blood of Jesus. So Lord, I want to lead those who read this line in a prayer of forgiveness, please Lord, forgive those who asked today, and Lord I pray they will come to You today. Now Lord, hear the prayers of myself and others. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins and wash me clean with The Blood of Jesus, that still flows today. Wash me white as the new fallen snow, and yes, Lord, I do want You in my heart and I want to be admitted to heaven some sweet day, until that day help me repent of my sins and work for you, never giving up... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth my dear brothers and sisters... As you might see, I started this message last night and I have trouble writing in the evening, God seems to want me fresh, so I am working with God on the timing of these messages... Now share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
