Wednesday: Faith, Hope, Love 3

If I have not love, I gain nothing!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to Salvation Wednesday. Yes, the weeks go past so fast and we are back to Salvation Wednesday, the day we pray for the unsaved and for God to use us to bring them to the feet of Jesus to be saved. So dare I ask this question today? Are you saved? Are you "Born Again"? Are you washed in The Blood of The Lamb? Are you walking daily with Him? Are you ready to reach out to others in Jesus' name? Then let's get right to praying about this. First for forgiveness of our own sins, I will lead you in this for it is not a "we" prayer. Then we pray to go to work for Him... Let's do it...

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and right now I ask for You to forgive me of my sins by washing me in the blood of Jesus. And now, Lord, I ask that You make sure I am ready for Your Kingdom and please do it by looking inside my heart and then speaking to me. I really do want to walk each step of each day with You. I want people to see Jesus in me. I also want to work for You so I ask that You guide me into Your service and provide me with all the tools I need to get the job done in Your Name. Please help us all who are working for You to seek out the lost. Help us to overcome all evil that comes in our way and go where You send us to go. Thanks for blessing this line and I ask in the Name of Jesus that You keep blessing it. Lord, please be with Tom and Dianne as they travel and protect them... In The Name of Jesus, Amen.

Faith, Hope, Love 3 : 1 Corinthians 13: 3 - If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. (NIV)

Please take time to read 1 Corinthians 13. It is about love. A few years back, maybe 10, I was told that if I was not blessed by God to be able to speak in tongues I would not get into heaven. I told the person they were wrong and they did not fully understand that gift. You see, folks, all gifts that are good come from God but the Bible tells us that of all the gifts we can receive that the Gift of Love is above all and if we do not have that gift we indeed have nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:1 - If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. (NIV)

Folks, I am talking about that Love Jesus talks about when He told us to Love our Lord God and to Love our neighbors. Love is very, very important and I don't want any of you to confuse love with sex. When most people hear the term making love, what comes to their mind? Sex, right? Well it should not be that way. Making love can mean lots of things, let me look at a few of them.

Making or showing love is the teenager who stops to help an older person across the street or hold a door open for them. Showing love is stopping to pick up pieces of paper when walking across a parking lot, not throwing some on the ground. Showing love is pushing a shopping cart back to where it is to be placed instead of just letting it set on the lot. MEN, showing love is making sure your family is raised in the name of the Lord and that you head up your family, in the name of Jesus. Showing Love is bringing home some flowers for your wife when there is no special occasion or when you have not messed up. Men, showing love is when you cook the meal because you wife is just as tired as you are. Ladies, showing love is when you take the gifts of your husband without questions like... Why are you bringing me flowers, what did you do wrong, or what do you want, a new car? You know where I am coming from... Kids, showing love is doing things for your family without being asked.

Here are a few examples of love, real love... Loving your neighbors regardless if they even talk to you. Love is cooking a little extra and giving it away... and folks, most of us heard this one on our wedding day...

1 Corinthians 13: 4 - Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always HOPES, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. (NIV)

Tomorrow we are going to dig into more love and some more reasons and things about love.

Time to go, we already had our prayer, so it is time to tell you to love others by sharing your blessings, and have faith that God will replace what you share and then some. And remember this... IN GOD WE TRUST... and in God we love others and God..... love ya, dan.

PS, remember the burden I placed at your feet yesterday? Carry The Light Ministries has been asked to give food to 33 extra families this year. This above our last year total of 55. Your help would be appreciated... 16 Dewalt Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050
