Friday: Ask, Seek, Knock. 5

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work for our Lord Jesus in the Fields of Harvest. Please remember that we all need to be working for Jesus in the Fields of Harvest and remember also that those Fields of Harvest might even be under your own roof or next door or down the street. Pray for the unsaved and for Jesus to place you so that you may witness to them.

Please keep praying for Ann McNellis, for Pastors Charles and Tony, and for their wives. Pray for kids at the Cumberland Valley School District, as there are eleven with the swine flu. Also pray for Wanda and her family, her son and daughter in law also have that same flu, and it is bad. Please keep praying for Pat as he walks that mission trip.

Ask, Seek, Knock 5: John 14: 13 - "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (NIV)

Folks, ask, seek, and knock does not mean that you go to the Cadillac Dealer and ask the price of the car, seek to drive it, and then knock on the door and Jesus will give it unto you. No, this Asking, Seekingn and Knocking is to forward the Kingdom of God. Let me put it into the words today of us working in the fields of Harvest... This is about how we should do this...

ASK God to use you in the fields of Harvest, ask Him to point out where He wants you to work in the fields. Ask Him how He wants you to work. Ok, so you get on your knees and you ask God, please use me in the fields of Harvest, and Lord, where do you want me to go and who do you want me to witness to, and then, And Then, AND THEN, Listen to God to speak to your heart and follow Him. He might want to send you to a foreign country like Pat who we are praying for or He might want you to go out and sing on the gospel trail like He did with Tim, Larry, Duane, Neil and Dave and a lot more. Or maybe He wants you to be a pastor, even one that was called later in life. But think beyond that, He might want you to cook for a neighbor or clean a house for someone and witness to them as you do the work. He might just want you to witness to folks at the water cooler or coffee break room at your present job. ASK and ask often about how to witness to others.

SEEK out those people in the place where God has asked you you to go. Seek out the lost at those places and also seek out those who are already saved for you can be part of a team. Remember that there are many, many mission teams. SEEK also God's Word that you might share it with others.

KNOCK. Oh here comes the hard part for us Christians, we might need to go door to door and knock on them. A lot of Christians laugh and make fun of the Jehovah Witnesses or the Mormons who go door to door. How many have hidden from them, or told jokes? What do you call two bikes chained to a stop sign? A Mormon Parking lot. Yes two young men working their way through the church often ride bikes... But we Christians, and folks, like it or not the Mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses who are born again will be in heaven, the question might be is we who CLAIM to be Christians, will we all make it? Yes, knocking on doors is not easy. I remember going door to door in a trailer park inviting people to vacation bible school, and I also remember going out and working on a building fund. On the building fund we were knocking on church members doors, but regardless of it, knocking on doors is not easy. But we need to do it. First of course is to knock on the door of Jesus and seek Him out and ask Him for Help.

ASK, SEEK, KNOCK, Again I ask you to go to your Bible and read Matthew 7: 7/12 and study it.

Dear Father in Heaven... We want to ask You today first to forgive us of our sins and then to put us to work for You. We are seeking You today and we want to go out and seek out the lost, and Lord, we are knocking on Your door today and asking You to tell us where we should go and knock on doors or call on the phone, where You want us to work for You. In the name of Jesus, I ask for You to use us, and to protect Pat and all who work the fields of Harvest. Lord, I pray today for healing for Ann and for Pastors Charles and Tony and for You to keep their wives strong. Lord, please keep blessing this line, and Lord, I thank You for doing that. Please also keep me writing if that is what You want me to do. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Time to say it folks... Ask, Seek, Knock, and share your blessings. Here is a suggestion, someone new moving in to your neighborhood... take them a big basket of canned foods to stock their shelves. Just another way to share the blessings... Love ya, Dan.

PS we are singing at Perry Village in New Bloomfield on Saturday at 2.00 PM
