Praise The Lord! Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, Praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, PRAISE THE LORD.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and thank you for those who answered questions yesterday. Today is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working for our Lord Jesus.
Are YOU on that prayer list today, and if not, why not? You should be working for Jesus and I don't care how old you are, from children to the oldest of seniors can reach out for Jesus. I pastor a senior community, in that community we have a dementia unit. Even those who lost their memory or most of it, still sit and praise the Lord and some even tell others in the same unit to love Jesus.
Now a side note, as I type this, in four minutes we have a rocket bomb of some type hitting the moon... WHY???? Why, when we have so many people in the world and even in the United States with not enough to eat, are we sending a rocket to blast the moon? TO ME IT IS UPSETTING... To me this is dead wrong... The Bible tells us to feed the hungry and put clothes on the naked and to help the poor. No place in the Bible do I see where we should hit the moon with a rocket. And even with that said we have men and ladies at war and that money could even be used to fund these fine men and women who are still searching out those who bombed America on 9/11/01 using our own planes. DO WE REMEMBER THAT? Let's feed the poor, clothe the naked and protect our country, and then and only then should a president get a peace prize... PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR NATION.
My mamma told me when the moon talk first started when I was in school... "If God wanted people on the moon, He would have put them there." Ok, let me get back on message...
Please keep praying for Don Saylor who is very, very ill and please keep praying for that little baby born at 2.7 pounds. For Vicki and for this new request... for Paul, in the hospital and very ill. Prayers for our son Matthew who is to be admitted to detox today. Thanks for your prayers for my beloved Martin Martin who had dental work yesterday, it was for cleaning but he, according to the vets, needed to have two teeth removed. He is home doing fine. I can't say the same for my checking account. Wow! But he is worth it all and if we are going to have pets we must take care of them. They depend on us...
Remember please to pray for your pastors.
Joyful Noise 5: Psalm 150: 1 - Praise The Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. 2 Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. 5 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, 4 Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, Praise Him with the strings and flute, 5 praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals, 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, PRAISE THE LORD.
(NIV)
Most of this past week I talked about Praising our Lord God and quoting scriptures where it talks about making a Joyful noise. I could write on these scriptures for weeks and weeks. Today I just want to round it out by pointing out to those who might not like the little bands with strings and drums leading worship in the church... It is in the Bible folks, and dancing is also, so please, please, get it right. Do not down it, there is a time to worship with drums and cymbals and time to do it with singing and praise, and there is a time to worship God on our knees in quiet reverence. And may I point out that all of them are a joyful noise unto the Lord. Even, and listen to me here folks, even the quiet prayer time we spend, a time we talk to Jesus one on one, sometimes in our car, sometimes laying in bed, and if you are like me, sometimes while sitting on the throne. I call it my throne to Throne talk with Jesus. As we bid this week goodbye we will thank God for the week and ask Him for another, and once again today we will go out singing and praising the Lord in song, trying to put another on your mind and hearts for today. Sing and rejoice... but before that, let's go to the quiet part of the praise and joyful noise.
Dear Father we come to You in quiet prayer today, first praising You for another day and praising You for our food and clothes of yesterday and for a roof over our heads. And I give You all the honor and glory for our little man, Martin, coming home in good shape. Thanks, God, for all You do for us. Lord, I am sorry that our Nation, the United States, crashed a bomb into Your moon, our night light. Please Lord, do not shut this night light off because of our bombing it. Lord, forgive us for this. Lord, Lord, we ask that You sit with Don Saylor and take care of Him. Lord, I asked You give him total healing as only You can do. Lord, be with his family. Lord, I pray for all those who are working for You regardless of what they do. Lord, for those singing folks on the road, and for the ones preaching in churches, I pray that they preach and teach the truth and the complete word. Lord, help them. Lord, for Vicki, for Paul, and for all others who need Your hand I pray for healing... Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus... AMEN.
Now brothers and sisters, let's once again put a song on your heart and lips so that others see and hear you singing for Jesus. Please also remember to share your blessings of the things that God gives you and to share your voice with others. Remember the Bible tells us a joyful noise, so sing it, folks, sing it out... and let's reach way back for one of those old, old hymns, one with the meat and potatoes' as Duane Nicholson once told me. Meat and potatoes from God's Word in song...
"On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; And I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown." "So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown."
"Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hand hath made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art! Ok, singers, let's do that refrain one more time and tenors go high, let's do it and give it that joyful noise... ready...
THEN SINGS MY SOUL, MY SAVIOR GOD, TO THEE, HOW GREAT THOU ART! HOW GREAT THOU ART! THEN SINGS MY SOUL, MY SAVIOR GOD, TO THEE, HOW GREAT THOU ART! HOW GREAT THOU! ART! HOW GREAT THOU ART, HOW GREAT THOU------ART..... sing it, share it. love ya, dan.
