May 6, 2010 Great Promises 9

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men."

Good National Day of Prayer and Nurses Day Thursday, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a wonderful blessed day today as it is every day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. I am sure if you look you will find it the same way just where you are today. It is family day also on the line, so please take time to pray for all families including the one that resides in our people's house in Washington DC. Pray also for the Dodson family in the passing of their mother and grandmother. Also pray for Karen as she undergoes some heart tests. (to my kids, no relation).

Great Promises 9 Matthew 6:5 - "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words." (NIV)

When I take a look at our National Day of Prayer, and folks, I love it, but it does get a tad confusing to me when it comes to what our Lord Jesus said in the scriptures above. You know the part about standing on the street corners to be seen by man. If you are gathering in faith today just to stand shoulder to shoulder with other Christian brothers and sisters and you are praying in faith, great. If you are just coming out to have a crowd there to appear nice to the news, WRONG IDEA. Please, folks, use this day, as every day, to talk to God through our Lord Jesus, and today please add those nurses to your prayers also for it is also a day in the United States we call nurses day. Maybe they are together for a reason, maybe not. But I think nurses are truly a blessing of God.

Also if you are going to a government building today to pray that is also good, but folks, did you know that you can go pray over our government buildings every day of the year? No one will stop you. Go in as a visitor and just stop and pray quietly to God. One on one as He taught us to pray..
.

Each year on this day it sort of reminds me about how we used to have prayer in our schools, and folks, do you know we still can and we really do. No one, let me say that again, no one can keep God out of anyplace. The American Civil Liberties Union might think they can stop us from praying in schools or they think they can keep Jesus out, but no, we have control over that as we pray to God through our Lord Jesus. The American Civil Liberties Union nor no one else will ever stand between me and my Lord God. AMEN, and I pray that you are the same way today.

I hope you all noticed how one great man of God, Reverend Franklin Graham, was told he could not speak today in Washington at the Pentagon Building because of statements he made about Muslims and how he stood fast to his word for God by saying he loved the Muslims and prayed for them to come to God through Jesus Christ. He did not change so he could speak at the Pentagon Building, but held fast to God. Way to go, Reverend Graham, thanks for standing steadfast for our Lord Jesus.

I have very, very dear friends who work so hard with "March for Jesus" and their faith and love for our Lord Jesus is outstanding and all they do for others and for Him is done in faith. I admire the work this couple have done and still do. Their names are Ross and Ruth Willard, and they will welcome you today with open arms at the State Capitol in Harrisburg Pa. But I also know this couple does not just pray today, it is a very major part of their lives and they reach a lot of people for our Lord Jesus, which is what it is all about. Getting into the government buildings to pray is one thing, it is reaching the people about salvation through our Lord Jesus, which is the bottom line. And while Ross and Ruth are saved and while they cannot save you, they will for sure if you talk to them, point you in the right direction to become saved. I will never forget the prayer support that they over the years have given Carry The Light Ministries. In fact one year Ross, who loves to skate, skated around our trailer while we were singing gospel music in a parade. And Ruth walked along side of our float praying for us the whole time not out loud calling this to the attention of others, just calling on God to help us and to open hearts of those along the parade route to understand the words of the songs.

So folks, know this, folks, when walking with and for God, He will protect you, He will open doors WHERE HE WANTS YOU TO BE, and you will be able to pray. Remember please that we have 365 National Days of prayer and every four years God gives us another day. So enjoy this day and pray, but remember there is a tomorrow and we shall pray again, and then there is Saturday, May 8th, which is this Saturday, when we once again go to the Capitol Steps and this time to support our troops, and this support our troops rally will start at High Noon and I have been blessed to come and open and close it with prayer... See, we can always pray on Government property.... AND ALL GOD'S PEOPLE SAID Amen....

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to go back to the scripture this morning and just pray the prayer You taught us to pray... "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one... In Jesus name, I have been taught this prayer and pray it today... Amen.

The prayer I used today was from my New International Version of the Bible. Now go forth and share your blessings, and remember to pray each day. love ya, dan.
