"look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed!
Good Friday Morning and Good Start to Memorial Day Weekend! Yes, it is Friday and a beautiful morning. Fireworks, well God set us off a display last night that man can't touch. Today being Friday we want to pray for all those who are working the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus. Also I want to put Allison before you again, Allie has cancer and a full update is at the end of my message today. Please take time to read it. Also today I have a sad job to do, our senior-most dog appears to have had a stroke over night, and I must take her, Miss Trisha, to the vet and I know it will be her last ride, this never gets easy for me as Dolores and I adopt senior dogs.
Today I want to say Thank You to my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me a way to get home to Heaven, for dying for my sins and for standing up for me when others would trash me. Next, I want to say Thank You for Dolores putting up with me for 28 years, Mrs. Claus and I were married on Memorial Day, May 30, 1982, that makes 25 years. Then Happy Birthday to our ministry partner, Pamela Bower, who will be (age withheld) on May 29th.
Now let me say thank you to all our veterans and also to our current military who have served this country. IF IT WERE NOT FOR OUR VETERANS and our current military we might not be able to go to church, gather to have a wedding, have birthday parties, in fact the only thing we might have would be our personal freedom since it was bought and paid for in full by Jesus. Brothers and sisters, start this weekend talking to God and each time you see a veteran, or a person in uniform of our military, stop and thank them, do it while you can, while they are on this side of the grass.
Thanks to those veterans and active military who served in the NAVY, the AIR FORCE, the ARMY, the MARINES, the COAST GUARD, the MERCHANT MARINES, and all the reserve units.
What's in a Name? 5: Daniel 3:25 - He answered and said, "LO, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." (KJV)
So here I want to bring forth this name for our Lord. "The Fourth Man". As Jesus, the Son of God, was truly the one who was in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and at this time we can also add the name of the Great Protector. Let me see, they were untied, unhurt and walking or dancing around in the fire. All four of them.
Just one more for today...
John 10:1 - "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. 7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. (NIV)
Just another name for our Lord, and I keep finding more and more. Here we see Jesus calling Himself the "Gate". What a great name for Jesus, for He truly is the gate keeper of heaven and better know who that Gate Keeper really is.
Dear Father in Heaven, please heal Allie, Please protect our military, and bless also our veterans. And Lord keep your children safe on the highways this holiday weekend... And may we remember this weekend, what Jesus does did for us and also what our Military does and did for us. Bless and protect Lord, I ask in the might name of Jesus, the Fourth man in the fire... Amen.
Now share your blessings... be careful. And next week, more names if God still gives them to me. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Allies update from her mother.
Good evening prayer warriors,
I am writing this from home. Allie had her chemo embolization yesterday about 3:00. We started our day by getting stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital due to an accident about 10 miles outside of Baltimore. We were exactly one hour late. We were to be there at 10:30 and got there at 11:30. The nice thing was Allie got her port accessed in the oncology clinic and had her blood drawn before we went to the area to be prepped for the procedure. This saved a little time. However, they were still running behind so she never went for the embolization until 3:00PM. She reached recovery about 5:15 PM. Dr. Hong came out and said she did very well. Although she had a lot of pain this time when they injected the chemo into the tumor, which she never had before. They instilled a toxic mixture of three drugs: Doxorubicin, Mitomycin C and Cisplatin. The doctor said they "hit it hard" this time due to the fact that the surgeon wants the most tumor shrinkage possible before surgery.
I want all of you to know that we heard something this time we had not heard before. For those of you who were with us when Allie was preparing for her initial surgery in January, I was prompted by God to ask anyone who felt comfortable to send Dr. Choti, the liver surgeon, a card of prayer and encouragement prior to Allie's surgery. Dr. Choti received over 40 cards. In fact, Dr. Hong who does Allie's chemo embolization was quite the pessimist when we first met him. He told Allie that with a tumor the size of a soccer ball he wasn't sure how much he could help her but that he would do what he could. After this fourth chemo embolization and the largest tumor having shrunk 4 centimeters by 4 centimeters, Dr. Hong told us in recovery that most patients referred to him with a tumor of Allison's size have no shrinkage of their tumor and are usually not able to have surgery a second time. He also told us that the first time he put chemo in Allie's tumor it was like shining a tiny flashlight in a huge cavern. He really did not think that his treatment would make a difference. With that said, he smiled and said that Dr. Choti has been telling him that Allie has a lot of people praying for her and that he feels that is what is making the difference!! That alone is a testimony in and of itself. A doctor telling other doctors that people are praying and the prayer is working!!! We know that Allie's situation is no surprise to God. He knew how this whole thing would go from the very beginning. We are trusting His plan and we KNOW that prayers are working. It was just nice to see a smile on the face of a doctor who did not smile when he first met Allie. For this, we thank you all for lifting Allie up in prayer.
So, Allie has a good amount of pain in her tumor and even more pain in her left shoulder which they feel may be due to the tumor swelling from the chemo insertion and pushing on the diaphragm and the nerves associated with it. They are confident that this will resolve once the tumor shrinks more. She did not get a closure device in her groin this time so she had to lay flat for 5 hours after the sheath was removed but she slept a lot so the time went fast. She has had no nausea and the pain is being fairly well controlled with her pain medication. It was a long night though. They usually put Allie in a private room and I am allowed to stay on a recliner at her bedside. This time there were no private rooms available and she was put in a semi-private room with a roommate. I was told by the nurse if I was quiet and his charge nurse didn't find out. I could sleep in a chair at the bedside. As I said, it was a VERY long night, but I got to stay with Allie. Allie is always so appreciative of one of us being able to stay with her. It gives her comfort and we spend a lot of time praying together and talking.
So we continue to claim Jeremiah 29:11 which Allie used on her graduation announcement in June, 2009 which seems such a long time ago. Who knew that the verse would have so much more meaning than we ever thought. It is the promise in which God says "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Allison claimed this then and she still claims it today because we know that God definitely has a bigger plan for Allie. She is touching lives in ways she never dreamed she would. God is working through her for good. We will continue to give Him all the glory and honor He deserves.
We will enjoy our comfy beds tonight. We have been told that systemic chemo through Allie's port will start next Tuesday, June 1st for five days. Then we will hopefully be looking at a surgery date with Dr. Choti :) Thanks prayer warriors...you truly are in a battle with us and we feel we are winning, thanks to you. God bless and give God thanks for all the little comforts in your life. God continues to work and amaze us.
Love and blessings to all, Tom, Zina, Allison and Andy
P.S. Allie even felt well enough to attend her brother's baseball game tonight and watch him pitch. They ended in a tie. It was a very good game and a nice night to sit in the shade and watch baseball. We are truly blessed!!!
