The Lord was pleased to make you His own.
Good Family Day Thursday Morning to all of you, my dear brothers and sisters. Yesterday I sent something the wrong way, it was a bus museum thing, sorry about that. However, you may surely pray for all those in the Bus Museum for it is a group, folks, who are working very hard to keep the history of passenger transportation going and it is not easy making old buses run. We are indeed a family at the Museum. I think I remind you each week as we pray for families to be sure to pray for the family of God, pray for your church family and be sure, and you might get mad at me for this statement, but be sure your church family indeed is part of the family of God. Also please pray for the family in the White House and all families who visit. And pray today also for military families, so many are away from each other serving our country, you know our Country... AMERICA, ONE NATION UNDER GOD...
Living to Please Jesus 4: 1 Samuel 12: 19 - The People all said to Samuel, "Pray to the Lord your God for your servants so that we will not die, for we have added to all our other sins the evil of asking for a king." 20 "Do not be afraid" Samuel replies. " You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but SERVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART." 21 Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. 22 For the sake of His great name the Lord will not reject His people, because the Lord was pleased to make you His own. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, God led me to this scripture and I feel the reason for this scripture is just to show you that the Lord is pleased to make you His own. And yes, brothers and sisters, we are made in His image and He was pleased to do that. He has also pointed out to me that even if we mess up if we do not turn away but serve the Lord with all our hearts He will be pleased. Of course He is not pleased when we live in sin and do not repent for He does not want to see us become a child of Satan.
Brothers and sisters, if we are not living to please God then who do you think you are living to please? There are only two out there when it comes to working for someone, we are either working for God in what we do or we are sliding into a sinful life and that means we are working for the leader of evil... and for sure we are not pleasing God.
So today's lesson tells us not to turn from God, even if we have sinned against Him, but to repent and serve the Lord with all your heart, for that surely will please Him.
1 Samuel 12:24 - Be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you. (NIV)
While some people might think the old testament of our Bible does not pertain to us today, they are wrong. Please remember that God The Father, The Lord of that old testament, is our Lord Jesus. We should be the same today and serve the Lord with gladness. The scripture I just wrote tells us to fear the Lord and we should live for Him in reverent fear as the Bible tells us to do, and as we serve Him to please Him we just need to look all around us to see the great things He has done for us.
Dear Father in Heaven, we indeed want to live and please You, but Lord, we really confess today that we can never do it standing alone for evil will suck us up. So Lord, stand shoulder to shoulder with us this day and block evil from us as we do our very best to repent of sin and live to serve and please You. Please be with families this day, bless them, and Lord, may the family in the White House come to You and confess also their lives to You if they have not done that already. Be also with our military families and also church families and I pray that all hook up with You and become part of the family of God. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings and love the Lord and serve Him and others... love ya,
Pastor Dan.
