Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please, dear Lord, forgive me of my sins, and Lord, please be with Glenn and Marie and heal them. Be with Jim Otto and bring him home safe, for Father, You know where he is located. Lord, be with Wanda and help her carry the load she has on her at this time. Lord, forgive me, please, for missing yesterday on this line. I was tired from plowing. Please help us carry out Your command to share Your love and the Good News. Please, Lord, help me now with the message of today, and then please, Lord, help me dispatch it. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters. I am so sorry I missed yesterday. I was tired from plowing snow. Today we are getting some rain. Praise God I do not need to plow rain. Today, please pray for Glenn and Marie, parents of Wanda and Glenda, both prayer warriors on this line. Glenn and Marie are both in the Holy Spirit Hospital. Please also pray for Dean and Martha's son Jim as he comes home from a foreign assignment. Also pray for our nation for it is TIME WE TURN BACK TO GOD! And brothers and sisters, it needs to start with us, yes, us, me and you, you and me. And we need to keep praying for our "so-called" leaders on Capitol Hill. Pray, warriors, pray. Now let me get going on the message, and again, it is promises from God. I really want to wrap it up this week.
Salvation Wednesday: February 19, 2014, "I Promise!" (Day Eighteen).
Isaiah 12:1 - In that day you will say: "I will praise You, O Lord. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away and You have comforted me. 2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, The Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation." 3 With joy you will draw waters from the wells of salvation. (NIV)
As I talk today on this Salvation Wednesday, we find the scriptures telling us that "I will praise You, O Lord." The Bible also tells us that God's anger has turned away from us and that should comfort us. Yes, people say that God might not get angry but He did and still does, and yes, it tells us that in the Bible. My thinking is that His anger turns away from us when we come to Him and humble ourselves and pray for forgiveness of sins and REPENT of those sins. And brothers and sisters, maybe others will not tell you this but I will, for as you know, I try my best to give it to you as God gives it to me. We need to pray hard each day for God to not just forgive us of our sins but to help us to REPENT of them. For out of everything we do each day, out of everything we do each day, the hardest thing for us to do is to get through the day without committing a sin. I want you to really think about that and to think about sins in general. Even in your sleep, or in your thinking, we are indeed sinners, and I am so glad we have Jesus who went to the cross for us, yes, for me and for you for the forgiveness of sins. So brothers and sisters, we should be praising the Lord all the time, and not just for an hour or so on Sunday morning.
Luke 3:4 - As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.' 5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. 6 And all mankind will see God's Salvation." (NIV)
Now the one being talked about here is of course John The Baptist, the one who came ahead of Jesus and announced His coming. I want you to look closely at this scripture and see these promises. First of all this is history, it is facts, it has happened, and we have proof of it for it is recorded in the world's best history book, THE BIBLE. (Someone should say Amen on that statement.) Anyway, we are to prepare the way for the Lord, and that means not just then but us now, we should be preparing the way, and how? By repenting of sins and spreading the GOOD NEWS of Salvation through JESUS. We are John the Baptist of today. Now look at this. Every valley will be filled in and every mountain and hill made low. Have you watched those earth movers, taking the dirt from the high places and filling in the low? Also think about this, there was a time not long ago that TV would not go over a mountain, you needed a straight shot to get something on your screen. And now a disk can pull it from the air. So think of things that were hard as being high and getting lower or easier to do. The crooked roads straight. Do I need to mention the Interstate system over the old roads? And those rough roads will be made smooth. Oh yes, we are going to get some potholes to remind us that God is in charge for He and He alone sent us this weather. And that last part. "All mankind will see God's Salvation." But remember, all will see it, but not all will receive it, for those who turn from God will not see salvation. (God's words, not mine.) One more scripture for today.
Titus 2:11 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "NO" to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. (NIV)
Okay, brothers and sisters, and as we know that term, men, means mankind, or men and women. Look, for the grace of God brings SALVATION has appeared to all men (women) and we are to say no to an ungodly lifestyle and worldly passions and to be self-controlled and upright. So many people today when they do something wrong will try and blame someone else. Some even want to blame Satan, and he gets too much credit. Self-control, brothers and sisters. The buck stops with us. Live each day as if God is watching you, for He indeed is. So live each day as if you could SEE GOD WATCHING YOU.
Also stop doing this. Yesterday on a local radio show the local talk show host was telling how he was a Christian, and that how Christians are the most beat-up people there are. He is saying how people hate Christians world-wide. Then later, same show, same day, he talked about going to a movie and sneaking in food for his kids and how in the winter with more coats on they can sneak in more. So be careful that as we claim to be Christians we are not giving people reasons to just hate what we do. Again, let me repeat what I said before. The buck stops with us. Live each day as if God is watching you, for He is indeed.
And He even watches as you go forth and share His blessings that He gave unto us. Share them, please. Love ya, and please pass that love on.
