Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much, and I appreciate You looking in on those we have been praying for. Please, Lord, protect Your children as this new snowstorm hits this area. Please, Lord, watch over those who must travel tomorrow, and be with all those who work weather-related jobs. In Jesus' Name, I ask also that You help me with another message on promises from God and then help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I guess we are in for another major snow event here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. I can hardly wait to get up into my plow truck and clear more snow. I have figured out how to raise some money for the big cities that have no place to put the snow. You load it into dump trucks and sell it down in Palmyra, PA, to be used to fill sinkholes. Now don't laugh, that might get them through until spring.
Brothers and sisters, it is Wednesday, and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, and the day we pray for those who might not be saved. In fact, let's do that right now and then go to the message.
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive us of our sins, and Lord, lead we who are saved to those who might not be saved and then give us the words to say to get those folks to come to You, Jesus, to be saved. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Salvation Wednesday: February 12, 2014, "I Promise!" (Day Fourteen).
Acts 13:38 - Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39 Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses. (NIV)
This is a great scripture with a wonderful promise to be used any day, but on Salvation Wednesday, God pointed this right out to me. He is so good. The promise of being Justified if we believe means this. If we believe we will be forgiven of our sins and we will have the gift of righteousness.
Acts 20:35 - In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." (NIV)
Let's take a look at this promise from our Lord who, remember, has promised us He would supply all of our needs. Here we find that He will supply us and we should help the weak, meaning to me those who might be too weak to work, or they work but do not make enough to support their family. Remember, God supplies our needs often through the hands of others, and we are also to work for our needs. Yes, He will supply them, but if we refuse to work, then according to the scriptures, we should not eat. We also find out in Acts 20:34 "It is more blessed to give than to receive." This scripture and a few others is the reason that each day I close with the following line: "Please go forth and share your blessings." I wonder sometimes how many of you do that. So today as I close out I am going to write it differently. I do want you to remember this: The greatest one of your blessings that you can share would be the telling of others about the gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. Now it is time for me to say ...
Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." So please listen to Jesus as I also say to you, "go forth now and share your blessings." Love ya. Please share that love with others.
Pastor Dan
Tomorrow, more Promises from God! Amen
