Tuesday 2/11/14 "I Promise!" 13

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please forgive me of my sins and anything that I have done wrong in Your eyes.  Lord, be with Glenn Gamber and heal him, Lord, and please, Lord, be with his wife and family.  Lord, be with Mike and Sona and their family in their time of sorrow.  Please, Lord, watch over and protect President Barack Obama, as I pray for his soul first and then his leadership ability.  Please, Lord, help me with the message and then help me to dispatch it.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters.  I want you to know this.  I love all of you.  I am sorry I have not been regular in my writing, for I know a few of you really count on it.  The fact is our weather has me sort of living in the plow truck and it looks like we are going to have another weather event that will need plowed.  There is, as always, a light at the end of the tunnel.  And the light at the end of the tunnel is, of course, as always, Jesus Christ.  I will talk about this statement in the message, so let me get to it.  Yes, more on "I Promise!"

Tuesday:  February 11, 2014, "I Promise!" (Day Thirteen).

2 Chronicles 30:8 - Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; submit to the Lord.  Come to the sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever.  Serve the Lord your God, so that His fierce anger will turn away from you.  9 If you return to the Lord then your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate.  He will not turn His face from you if you return to Him!  (NIV)

Stiff-necked?  Wow, I wonder if we are still able to use that term.  I would think that being stiff-necked would be sort of like being red-necked and we are not to use that term  anymore.  For me and my house, we will serve the Lord, and use all the wording in the "Lord's Master Book of Instructions and Guidelines."  I call that book the "Bible."  Anyway, we are not to be stiff-necked, we are to come to the Sanctuary, a place where God has consecrated, and how long will it be consecrated?  Forever and ever.  Now watch here, for here comes the promise.  "Serve the Lord your God so that HIS FIERCE ANGER will turn away from you."  So the promise once again comes with an attachment.  To keep away His fierce anger, we must "serve Him."

Now here comes the next promise from the same scriptures that God has given me today.  If we have turned away from Him and come back.  "If you return to the Lord then your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate.  He will not turn His face from you if you return to Him!"  The promise is "He will not turn His face from you!"  However, and the point we must do ... we must return to Him.

Acts 13:29 - When they had carried out all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.  30 But God raised Him from the dead.  (NIV)

Here is a really big and great promise, and yes, all of God's promises are big and great, but look here from the book of Acts.  Here is the promise and it has been carried out and witnessed.  "God raised Him from the dead."  Of course we are talking about Jesus our Lord and Savior and His being risen was a great promise.  Now let me tie together a couple of verses of scripture.

Acts 13:30 - But God raised Him from the dead.  31 And for many days He was seen by those who had traveled with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem.  They are NOW HIS WITNESSES to our people.  (NIV)

And we also witness this event for we can read it in our Bibles and witness it for ourselves through the inspired word of God.  AMEN.

Now go forth and share your blessings and also share those promises of God.   Love ya, and please pass on that love.

Pastor Dan

P.S.  Please keep our president in your prayers.  Also note, please, that whenever I pray for him and/or ask you to pray for him, I send him a copy of my writing.  Amen.
