Thursday 2/20/14 "I Promise!" 19

Dear Father in Heaven.  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins and help me repent of them.  Also, please take away some of my pain, please, Lord, please, just some, please, Lord.  Please be with Troy McCollum, Lord, who had an accident riding his bike.  Please watch over Ruby.  And please take care of Matthew.  Please, Lord, be with Wanda and help her carry the load she has on  her right now.  Thanks for  helping in the house with Beth and Craig.  Lord, be with Glenn and Marie Gamber and heal them.  Be also with Dan Stoner and his family, and Lord, heal Judy Rudy of cancer.  Lord, please watch over Patsy and Burt, and also Dale Whisler.  Watch over our flock at The Bridges and take care of them.  And please keep Jim safe as he travels home.  Now, Lord, please help me with the daily message and then  help me to dispatch it.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, it was like summer  here at the Southern Location of the North Pole as the temperature went all the way up to freezing.  No, it really did go into the forties, PRAISE THE LORD!!  And God is good, as the gas truck pulled in yesterday and they filled the tank.  It was below empty on the gauge and we must keep some heat on in the food pantry.  Anyway, praise God for that.  Always something to be thankful for.  Amen.  Now let me get to the message.

Thursday:  February 20, 2014, "I Promise!" (Day Nineteen).

John 14:1 - "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.  2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you."  (KJV)

I have seen pictures of what people call mansions here on earth.  Some are so big that one could get lost without leaving their own house.  But here we have a promise from our Lord Jesus that if we love Him, and of course love also His (ours also) Father in Heaven, we will live there.  Think of this, in the house of our Heavenly Father there are many mansions, and someday, if we indeed are born again, we will reside in that mansion.

John 14:15 - "If you love me, you will obey what I command.  16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.  17 The Spirit of truth.  The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.  But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you."  (NIV)

This is our Lord Jesus who makes us a promise here and that promise is leaving us with The Holy Spirit.  One of the names of our Lord Jesus is Counselor and here we can see our Lord Jesus telling us He will be leaving us with another Counselor.  Of course we need to know Jesus and accept Him as our Savior and then The Holy Spirit enters us and dwells within us.  This is so neat, Jesus just gave me this.  A lot of people pay a lot of money to talk to a counselor and we have one "built in" and we can talk to Him anytime.  Three for the one.  We get The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, and  just for the asking, and of course living the very best we can to please them.

John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your  hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, all of the scriptures that I have used so far this day are in the words of Jesus.  Jesus is being quoted.  Look at this.  Peace I leave with you.  Now we are not talking worldwide peace, we are talking inner peace.  Peace of mind if we just learn to trust in Jesus, fully trust in Him.  Jesus again saying, "My peace I give you."  Brothers and sisters, this is not a short-term loan, or a long-term loan, or something we need to purchase.  Jesus tells us, "MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU!!!"  Please shout PRAISE THE LORD.  Jesus does not give to us as the world does, and I want to say praise the Lord for that.  Now look at this, please take the time to really understand this. Jesus tells us, "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."  Jesus is not telling us here to do something stupid when talking about being afraid.  For example, I am afraid of heights, so when I wear my cowboy boots I get afraid because of the high heel, just kidding, but I am afraid of heights, and I am not going to just say I do not need to be afraid and go climb up where I do not belong.  This is telling me that I do not need to be afraid of life, if I live as Jesus commands us to do.  So please come to Jesus and live to please Him.

Brothers and sisters, it is very hard to wrap up this series as there are just so many promises.  Tomorrow I am going to wrap it up and you do not want to miss it.  Today I want to tell you this.  So many people over the years that are running for offices make so many promises, but only our Lord God makes them and keeps them.  NO ONE ELSE, only our Lord God.  I have heard over and over again some running for office saying if I am elected people will find out that "The Buck Stops Here." Well, let me tell you that they cannot even say that and mean it.  However, if anyone wants to know where the "buck really stops," just check the offering plate at church.  Yes, the buck stops with God.  But put the joke aside, and know that in life, in life, in all we do, if we really live to please God, He will be very happy to have the "buck stop with Him."  Just pray and talk to Him about it. Take time to talk over things with our Heavenly Father and please remember this as found in -

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one come to the Father except through me."  (NIV)

Please remember to close your prayers with "in Jesus' Name I pray."  Please do not say "in His Name," or just "Amen."  If you say, "in His Name," someone might hear you and wonder who "His" is.  The Bible is clear and it is in the words of Jesus.  THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER IS THROUGH JESUS.  And that is in the Bible and it is in all we do which includes praying.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Pass on that love, please.

P.S.  My trusty three-wheel scooter which I have had and used very hard for nearly 15 years around the house is wearing out.  Anyone know of a good used one someplace?  I have the Rascal brand, and I purchased them years ago used.  (Then I got some extra old ones for parts.)
