Veterans Day 2011 The Journey 2011-8

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden, and there He put the man He had formed.

Happy Veterans Day to all of our Veterans everywhere. I cannot begin to name all of the veterans that have played a part in my life for to do that I, like you, would need to name each and everyone who ever lived and served our country. But I do want to say Happy Veterans Day to the following... Army, Grant Crockett, Navy, Sharon Saylor, Glenn and Dian Lehman, Air Force, Dolores C. Lehman, Marines, Grant Beck. Folks, I also want to thank the members of all branches of the military, not just veterans, but also to our current armed forces. Please sing God Bless America as I name these... Army ------- Navy ------- Air Force ------- Marines ------- Coast Guard -------- The Pennsylvania National Guard 28th. And our Air Force Guard Unit The 193rd. Please pray for theses folks today and when you see a veteran and/or a person in uniform today, thank them and shake their hand. For it is only by the Grace of God and the work over the years that we are "speaking English and not some other foreign language." Also pray for our Nation and on Veterans Day, with a date like 11/11/11 there are no hits on our country.

One other new request for prayers in this day, please pray for Karen Baugham who is in ICU at the Holy Spirit Hospital. She has had a major stroke, and her family is ALREADY CLAIMING THE VICTORY OF HEALING THOROUGH JESUS CHRIST. Let's claim it with them and pray.
Please keep praying for Glenn and Marie as her family is also claiming that same victory of healing through Jesus Christ.

I will be writing also tomorrow as I want to finish out the story of Adam and Eve. Sorry about Thursday, it came and went, from the rising of the sun to long into the night, I did not really have time to eat. The good news is Dolores had an emergency appointment with the surgeon on her right knee and X-rays show it is ok, but needs a lot more healing time.

The Journey 2011 Day 8: Genesis 2:8 - The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden, and there He put the man He had formed. (NIV)

Brothers and Sisters, please read Genesis Chapter 2 so you can get this story down without me typing all of it. Let's take a look at how God made man... God formed us from dust and put the breath of life in us right from His mouth into our nose. Think of it, we already know we were made in the image of God and now we find out that to get man started to breathe He just took His breath and blew it right into our nose... And folks, I want you to all take a deep breath of air right now. Go ahead, breathe in real, real deep, real deep. Keep your mouth closed and breath in through your nose. Who do you think just put that breath of air into your body through your nose? Right, God did it!! Now if you read this full account of Adam and Eve, you will find that God made this beautiful garden in the East in Eden. Wow, the Garden of Eden. Now we know that a garden needs to be watered and we in the summer pray for rain for our gardens and the farmers' fields (not as much as this past summer) but we take what God gives, AMEN. Remember it has not rained, we talked about the water around us, but as we look down from our sleigh this day we see it is not raining yet this garden is perfect. That is because God made rivers and streams and springs. Do you remember as a kid, and I am talking us who like me are older than dirt. Anyway, when we would get thirsty while out playing we would come upon a spring and lay on our bellies and cup our hands and drink from the spring. Where today could you find a spring that clean? How about up in Clarks Valley where the water still comes out of the mountains and gathers behind Dehart dam, then is piped into Harrisburg Pa. to supply water for the city? At one time nothing was needed to clean the water, and it tasted so good. Now some river water is added and all those chemicals are added and it does not taste good at all.
Anyway, man was placed in the garden with a warning, DO NOT EAT FROM THE TREE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GARDEN. Ok, so the Lord spoke, and as He did He also gave everything over to man. The garden, the plants, the animals, all of it... But man was still not happy, no man needed a woman, and God saw that. So how did God make woman, well come back tomorrow and we will find out.

Now each evening when I take off my shirt for the night and I see that ring around the collar I think of how I was made from dirt. And while Tide might get the dirt from the shirt, the blood of Jesus gets the dirt from Dan. Think about that folks...

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for the air that formed man and the air we have today, thanks for the water that watered that first garden we call Eden and thanks for the water of today. Lord Jesus, You died for our personal freedom and we want to thank You for that, and today, as we do often we want to thank You for all those who have given their lives, their body parts, their minds and all else to keep this country free. Bless them, dear Lord... And may people remember both, how You saved us if we only come to You, and how our militaries past and present have fought to keep us free. Lord, also look over our prayer lists and as always, please answer our prayers per Your will and not ours... In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth, and please shake a hand of a veteran... Sharon, Grant, Glenn, Dolores, thanks and have a super blessed day... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Please folks, we need help on the 3rd of December to pick and pack food. Call if you can help... Please, 717 691 8200. We already have 50 families coming that day, we are going to hit a record number for a one-day distribution which will happen on December 17th. Both days it will be in the afternoon.
