Wed. Nov. 29, 2011 The Journey 2011-19

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. I love Salvation Wednesdays, brothers and sisters, I really do. Sort of like a mid-week service from days of old. I can remember when I was just a child (back when the streets were still dirt). My dear late mamma (she was not late back then) would take me to "prayer meeting" on Wednesday evening at the 29th Street United Brethren Church at 29th and Derry Streets in Harrisburg. I personally feel that we all should be working for God each day, but we also need a day to take on fuel during the week. While we pray for different things each day, salvation is the most important thing we can be praying for and of course for those unsaved to be saved, and for the saved to work to bring in the unsaved.

So today we pray for those who might be unsaved, and we also pray for the saved to be working to bring in the lost, and it is also a good day for we who are saved to take a look at Salvation and remember how we came to Christ and renew with Him. We also need to be praying for Ruby, for Carol Harris, for Vicki, and we need to give a shout out of praise as "Dave" came through his heart surgery yesterday with no problems. Thank You Jesus. THANK YOU JESUS.

And please keep praying for Carry The Light Ministries and for our "packing party" this Saturday afternoon. What a great day it will be. Think of this, our very small food pantry will be packing food, five big paper bags full for each family and there will be 100 families that we are packing for. We should have a team of about 30/40 people packing bags. Then in two weeks we have our distribution day, again in the afternoon... Still needed, prayer warriors, men and women to pray with men and women. Let me know if you can help either day or both days. Let's get to the message... Come on, the top is back on the sleigh, we are going out for a cold ride, and the first thing we are going to find out is how to have years added to our lives. On Washington, on Jefferson, or Lincoln, and Bush, on Clinton, on Adams and yes, another Bush, and lead us on, Obama, off we go, being pulled today by Presidents!!

The Journey 2011 Day 19 Exodus 20:12 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. 13 You shall not murder. 14 You shall not commit adultery. 15 You shall not steal. 16 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. (NIV)

How do you get extra days on this earth, according to the Bible? You follow the commandment of God, to honor your father and mother.

Honor your father and your mother. I admit it, I was a "mamma baby" and was and still am proud of it. I loved my mamma and still love her to this day. My mamma would tell me, "you will appreciate me more after I am dead and gone." And like always, my dear mamma was right. All my friends loved my mamma also and she loved them. I can remember one day coming home with a few of my buddies, and we parked my car along side of the house and jumped into my old panel truck. My mamma was on the porch and yelled to me... "Danny, where are you going?" Sort of joking with her, I yelled back, "none of your business, mamma." Now I was joking, my friends did not take it that way, and would not get in the truck. Are you guys going along, I asked them. Not until you tell your mother you are sorry about what you said. So I went up on the porch, gave her a big hug and kiss, and my buddies did the same. Then we left and she smiled. I never did tell her what we were up to, but since I was her angel she did not need to worry.

Now I remember one other day, I came home from school, it was a cold January afternoon and I had a rare day off from the service station. Danny, you don't need to work today? No, mamma! Do you want to take me downtown to the green stamp store? You can drive my car. Ok, Mamma... On the way downtown, we were hit head on by a drunk driver... My mamma went through the windshield, she was hurt badly, and later she died from those injuries. And she was right, I really appreciate her more and more even today.

My earthly father was a good man, he was God-fearing and when he told me something I better had listened. He would say something about going to the woodshed and we did not have a woodshed. My daddy laid out the rules and one of the rules was you better listen to your mother. For those of you who still have your mother and father or one of them, please spend time with them, call them on the phone and talk to them. Our kids check in with us all the time. Please, when you check in with your parents, don't just do it when something is wrong. You know as your parents age, it does not take gifts to please them, just a phone call or when you see them a big hug and words like... I love you, dad, or I love you, mom. Our Lord Jesus should be number one in your house, then your family...

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER AND LIVE LONGER..

Ok, let's talk about the next one. Exodus 20:13 - You shall not murder!! And brothers and sisters, there are murders going on each and every day in this the United States of America. Most of the murders are legal... Yes, I said, "most of the murders are legal." LET ME SAY IT ONE MORE TIME, MOST OF THE MURDERS IN THE UNITED STATES ARE LEGAL. Of course they call it abortion, not murder. If I were president of the United States, abortion would be stopped by an order of the president on my first day in office.

Also showing up across our lands is what is called "black on black" murders and crime. Let me call it gang related. We also have drunk drivers who kill people and you are not going to want to hear this, but to me, and again I want to say this, TO ME, if you are messing with texting on your phone and cross the center of the road and hit and kill someone, it should be called murder. Again, it should be called that. When you get behind the steering wheel of the car, you have a loaded gun in your hands. Drive it like my life depends on it... because if I am coming the other direction, it does. Amen.

Do I need to talk about this next one? Exodus 20:14 - Do not commit adultery. What does this mean? It means be happy with your spouse and keep your mind and everything else on them...

Exodus 20:15 - You shall not steal... And if I were to ask all of you today, have you ever stolen anything, anything at all, most would say NO. But wait a minute, what about that roll of tape you brought home from work, or those ink things for in your printer? Oh, and how many pens are on your dresser that say, US Government on them? I rest my case. How about nuts and bolts if you work in a garage? I can remember a song called "One piece at a time." Johnny Cash sang it about his Caddy.

Exodus 20:16 - You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. What does that mean... Easy... Don't Lie. Tell the truth. The longer you keep putting out lies, the longer it takes to dig out from under them. One lie leads to another... Just tell the truth, for the truth will set you free.

Exodus 20:17 - "You shall not covet." While I could go on and on, let me just say we should not covet anything. Let me bring it forward. You should not covet your neighbor's house, wife, or servant, his boat, Lincoln, his Harley, or even his woodpile.
Ok, what you should covet... Covet your neighbor's love for the Lord, if they indeed love the Lord, and if they do not, then teach them to love the Lord. Well, we rushed through them, but we must keep moving on the journey as we have a date to meet at the manger and it is coming up fast.

Dear Father in Heaven, clean me of my sins this day and help me to work with others to bring them unto You. Help us, Lord, in the name of Jesus to live each day to please You. Be with those on our prayer lists, and Lord, please help us with the food pantry... In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings. And please share the love of Jesus... love ya. Pastor Dan

Tuesday Nov. 29, 2011 The Journey 2011-18

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or your maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Good Tuesday, pray for a cure, Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. First let me tell you that Dolores and I love you very much. I appreciate all of you and look forward to those who write from time to time. Tuesday is the day we pray for a cure for cancer, kidney problems and all other diseases known and unknown. Brothers and sisters, God has the answer and God is the cure. AMEN.

More killings in Harrisburg over the weekend. One man was shot and killed while sitting on the porch of a friend at 3.00 AM on Sunday Morning... Maybe if, MAYBE IF, instead of just coming from a bar where he was in a mouth battle with the one who shot him, he would have been in bed, sleeping so that on Sunday morning he could/would have gotten up for church...

The Journey 2011 Day 18. Exodus 20:7 - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name. 8 Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or your maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (NIV)

Don't you just wonder why those who do not believe in God curse Him, and talk down about Him? They Damn Him and all the while they say they don't believe there is a God. Folks, one of the things we really need to look at as God gives these commandments to Moses. It is sure fun to look back and see these things from way back when and find out that they are yet rules for today. Yes, not only is our Lord Jesus the same, but so are the rules for our general living.

Let's look now at the Sabbath day, and here we get into trouble for some think it should be on Saturday and others on Sunday. While on today's market place just like back in those days some jobs needed done even on the Sabbath day. Animals need taken care of. I have a friend who is on this line and her family has a big, and I mean big, dairy farm. On Sunday there are cows to milk and of course feed, and clean up after. Animals needed tended back in the days gone by also. Also there are a lot of jobs that need done on the Sabbath, like hospital workers, nursing home workers, police and firefighters, and what about our military. Our fighting men and women from the battle zones don't get the day off. And of course when Jesus walked the earth He healed on the Sabbath.

So what day is the Sabbath, is it on Saturday or is it Sunday? How about this, keep all days Holy in respect for our dear Lord who will, by the way, save your soul any day you come to Him. He is not going to turn you away on the Sabbath and tell you to come back tomorrow. And be sure, if you are one of the people who must work on what might be called the Sabbath that you just take another day to rest your body.

Tomorrow I am going to tell you how you can live longer and it is in the Bible. Can you find it? It is very, very clear.

Dear Father in Heaven, as I look at Michael Fox, and a Michael at the Bridges I ask that You give us a cure for Parkinson's disease. And when I think of all those with cancer, I ask for a cure for cancer. And when I see those with memory loss, I ask for a cure for those memory problems. And when I see those who suffer with great pain, I ask that You handle that pain. In the name of Jesus I ask that according to Your will, please send cures for these and other diseases. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and giving yourself to God... Amen... love ya, Danny.

Monday Nov. 28, 2011 The Journey 2011-17

And God spoke all these words. "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." " You shall have no other gods before me." "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of their fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, those in Washington, and those in our state houses across this great land, and also those local leaders, and please remember to pray for those who lead our schools. Please pray today for David who is having surgery today and for Dennis who had surgery on Friday, both of the surgeries are heart related.

Wow, we had a great thanksgiving and dare I say the only one unhappy about the whole day was "The Turkey." It is a shame for he just seemed to lose his head over the whole ordeal.

The Journey 2011 Day 17: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words. 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." 3 "You shall have no other gods before me." 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of their fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments." (NIV)

Before getting into the events that lead up to Christmas and beyond, I need to touch on the Ten Commandments. This will be a quick review this week as we want to keep moving along. So come on, get in the sleigh, we are putting the top back down as the rain and flood are over and we are once again looking down on the early days of our earth, the days before the birth of our Lord Jesus.

While a lot of folks bill these ten commandments as the original commandments we have found that God already commanded things of us, meaning man. It started in the garden when Adam was told to keep his mitts off of the tree in the middle of the garden. He told Eve and she messed up. Today, however, we will look at the first few of what we call "The Ten Commandments." On the first commandment found in Exodus 20:2/3 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." 3 "You shall have no other gods before me." (NIV)

You will find later as we do the Two Great Commandments given to us by Jesus how the first of the Ten and the first of the Two are very nearly alike. Here in Exodus it tells us to have no other gods before our Lord God and in the words of Jesus, He tells us to "Love the Lord with all of our heart and soul and mind." In Exodus the second commandment tells us to not make an idol in the form of anything.

If I were to pick one thing that people make an idol out of and put ahead of God, I think the number one thing might be "themselves." Yes, I think some folks think of themselves above God, above the law, and my second choice would be close between money and those sports idols or sports heroes. While I am a lover of old cars, I do not worship them or put them ahead of God, family or even those in need. So, folks, if you want to get those Bibles out today, why not turn to Exodus 20 and look over the "Ten Commandments" and find out which ones come with strong punishments and which ones come with many, many blessings if you follow them. Oh, and you don't need to tell me, but even if it was just once, how many of the commandments have you broken over the years? I know I broke a few and wish I could correct them, but the good news is, I have been forgiven for those I broke.

Let's go to God now and ask Him to forgive any of us who broke commandments over their life span... Remember when it comes to asking for forgiveness you need to do this one on your own. I can only lead you...

Dear Father in Heaven, Please forgive me for breaking not just commandments, but also your laws and rules and even suggestions on how I should live... I am a sinner in need of the saving grace of Jesus... Please honor our prayer requests according to your will. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings... God is good, as you can see I started this early this morning and then I got caught up in a full day of things that had to get done... and also needed to just get off my legs for a while. Please pray for my legs... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Sunday Nov. 27, 2011 The Journey 2011-16

Genesis 6:1 - When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they married any of them they chose. 3 The Lord said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever for he is mortal, his days will be a hundred and twenty years. 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and also afterward when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. There were the heroes of old, men of renown. (NIV)

Good Evening, my dear brothers and sisters. A once in a year Sunday evening message as I want to get started on a new subject on our journey on Monday. So climb on board the sleigh, I have the top up for today we are going to see it rain for the very first time... As we take off, please pray for David who will be having surgery on Monday and give a shout of praise for our daughter Danelle who came through surgery last week with no bad news. Now, on Dasher, on Dancer, and come on Rudy as we need the light, no, never mind we have the light of the Lord leading us... amen... move out now.

As we see in these scriptures that men were increasing in number, and up to that time man was living a long, long time. Adam made more children after Cain and Abel, and in fact lived 800 years after Seth was born, and he fathered other sons and daughters and died at the age of 930. Others also lived those long lives, and if you would take time to read Genesis Chapter 5 you would find out some of these ages. I mean some of these folks were nearly a thousand years old, almost as old as my wife.

Now we see that the daughters of men were beautiful and the men saw this and they married any of them they chose. This made the Lord somewhat angry and He said His spirit will not contend with man forever for he is mortal... And God set their age at one hundred and twenty. And please note today, have you heard of anyone over the age of 120, I have not. The Nephilims were there and Nephilim means men of great size and strength and they were heroes of old, men of renown. But God saw that they were sinners, or fallen ones. Now I want to point out some of the same things today. I think it amazing just how a lot of things are still the same, including the same old sins. It seems that today a lot of men and even women make heroes out of those who sin... Sports figures come to my mind in a hurry. Let's look at a few of them... How about the juice, while all of us who watched the trial think that man was guilty of murder, he walked and some to this day think he is a hero... And there is the Tiger, old Tiger Woods, who is back on the golf course and in the limelight each time he plays. Now I could name more and more of them, in fact, what about Jerry Sandusky? But you get the idea, and folks I could name a few in Washington. And while all of us are sinners and only saved by the grace of God, and folks so will those I named be saved if they come to Jesus, but all of us have sinned, but the difference is that some are ashamed of their sins, while others seem to be made heroes. I know that for me, I am ashamed of my sins and very unworthy of God cleaning me up, but so thankful He did. I pray that all of you as you look back over your life, will not try and be a hero from your sins... Learn from your sins and give them to God, and again I tell you this, after you have given them to God, do not, I say do not let man hold them against you... If they try to, take time to inform them that God cleared you of those sins.

Genesis 6:5 - The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain. 7 So the Lord said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth. Men and animals and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air, for I am grieved that I have made them.(NIV) NIV, brothers and sisters, is the New International Version of the Bible.

So let's take a look at the scriptures that God gave me for today. And folks, although I am following creation and going forward in Genesis, I have prayed, and just this morning if God wants me to change direction, I will follow His lead. In Genesis 6:5 we see that our Lord God saw man's wickedness and of course all the sins that were going on. God also noticed and believed that man was not going to change and that man's thoughts were just evil. Now I ask you, has much changed today? Has man really changed today? Are not men and women still being evil? I want you to think about it. Look around you, read the paper, is not evil taking over the world, taking over the United States of America, taking over the State you live in, and even taking over your own community? I want you to think about it as we go forward this week on the messages of "The Journey."

Now let's look at Genesis 6:6. The Lord was Grieved that He had made man! God was upset, He was upset that He had made man. All else in creation was working, and folks, still is, but man was evil, and folks, may I say, still is. Think about this, our creator, our loving Lord, was that upset that He made us. Were you ever that upset with a child of yours that you wished you had not made them?

As I see it, God made one big mistake in creation, one really big mistake... What, am I saying God made a mistake? Well, yes, but He did make it for what should have been good. The mistake God made was giving man free will, letting His children do what they wanted to do on their own. No strings attached so to speak... We were not Howdy Doody, folks, God did and does not control us like a puppet. Anyway, God was grieved and upset, for man had failed. The Bible said "His heart was filled with Pain." How often has your heart been filled with pain because of the actions of a loved one, one or more of your children? How often have you sat bedside with them when their actions have caused them pain, which also has given you great pain?

So we see in Geneses 6:7, So the Lord said, "I will wipe mankind, who I have created, from the face of the earth." Now folks, if you are upset with your children, please do not follow the lead of our Lord on this one... If you feel that way, GET HELP FOR YOURSELF.

How upset God must have been to say He was going to wipe mankind from the face of the earth. I want you to really think about that today as we start to look at how God is going to do it, and who He might save. I also want you to think about this also, it is going to happen again, we just do not know when. I said that it will happen again, it is just a matter of time! Please do not dwell on the when part but what you can do to help people get through it and there is only one way to be saved from it. And the word Saved should give that clue for you.

Genesis 6:8 - But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. 9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time and he walked with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is fill with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. (NIV)

Wow, God is angry, and we talked about that yesterday. But one man, Noah, was found to be in favor of God. As you can see "Noah walked with God," brothers and sisters, I just brought it out how if we are truly a Christian we are walking with Jesus. So I ask you this question, if this was to happen today, meaning God is going to destroy man and earth, would God find favor in you? While none of us would be found blameless in the eyes of God, unless we are saved by the blood of Jesus, would you fit that picture? Folks, we need to be walking with God all the time, not just on Sunday for a few hours. In verse 10 the Bible tells us that Noah had three sons, one of them a "Ham" (ok, I must joke a little). Three sons, and of course Noah, and his wife and Shem, Ham and Japheth, and their wives were about to get the job of their lives... Let's go back to the Word of God and take a look at this job.

Genesis 6:14 - So make yourself an Ark of cypress wood: Make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. 16 Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the Ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. (NIV)

My study Bible translates the measurements into feet, if I go to the King James Bible I find the size in Cubits but since I would need to ask God, what's a cubit, I just thought the New International Version of the Bible would tell it best. Ok, God really handed them a job, but thank God, God is not like most of us as when we decide we want something most of it want it done yesterday. So think of it, God would come to us and tell us to build this Ark. 450 feet long, brothers and sisters, have you been to a football game, picture it, this Ark would be longer than the football field including the end zones and it would about half as wide and it would be about four stories high. So God walks up to you and tells you, I have found favor in you and I want you to build me this Ark, this really big boat and He gives you all the sizes and directions and you might say... "you've got to be kidding!" I don't think we could ever build it today, well, till we would get all the permits and waivers it would take years just for the paperwork. And think about when you call Lowes or Home Depot and asked for that much lumber and then would say, make it cypress wood, oh, and then you ask for that pitch, or tar. Think of the job, but more so I want you to think of this, would God really be able to find favor in you. I think this is a good time today to just stop and pray for God to clean us. Let's go to Him and ask in the name of Jesus to be washed clean. If we do this and then really repent of our sins and walk with God, when the end comes and it is coming, God will find favor in us. Don't worry, we will not need to build that really big boat, but we have our orders also and that is to Go into all the world and preach and teach the Good News (Mark 16:15). Ready? Let's get back in favor of God.

Genesis 6:17 - "I am going to bring flood waters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark --- you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them." 22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him. (NIV)

Let's take a look at the scriptures of today and see how it looks to us. See what God might give me today. Again we see God talking to Noah, talking to Noah as He talked to Adam and Eve, and to Cain and Abel, and as He talks to us. My question once again is do we listen, do we really listen for God to talk to us? Trust me when I say God does talk to each and every one of us, He does not pick and choose. He talks to all of us regardless of age, of sex, of race, of religion, He talks to those who cannot hear. When God speaks we all need to listen, and folks, listen with your heart and your mind and brain. Most often you will not hear Him with Your ears.

Now as he talks to Noah, He is laying out what I would call Noah's marching orders, what He wants Noah to do. Yesterday we looked at the size of the Ark that God commanded Noah to build, and that alone would have scared off most all people. Think about it, you are married, you have three sons and they all are married, and that's it for your help, well except for one helper, and that was? God of course! Brothers and Sisters, the older I get the smarter I am getting, for I have figured out that if I want to get ANYTHING done I need to get God in on it from the start. How about you, do you start projects, big or small, by asking God to work with you? If you don't, why not ask him early on, as in the start of each day to be with you in all things, and when you start something at work, pray about it first... Ok, lets move on...

God said: "I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark --- you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you." Now we touched on the family, but I want you to look at one word here, "Covenant." In other words, God made Noah a promise, a very big promise and I ask you today, do you know what that promise is and the reminder that God is using to this day to remind Him of the promise to Noah and his family?

Then God told Noah who to bring on board and I want you to notice that God commanded Noah to bring on two of each kind, ONE MALE AND ONE FEMALE... Folks, here it is again, God did not order couples of two males or two females, not in the people (Noah and his family and his son) nor in the animals. Couples were then and still should be now, one male and one female. The only time in the Bible where you will find a male married to a male is when we get to heaven and we are all married to Christ... As Neil Enloe wrote in a song... "Next time I get married, I'm going to be the bride." Ok, moving on...

Now listen to this from Genesis 6:20 - Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to to be kept alive. (NIV) Please note that the birds, animals and creatures are all going to come to Noah. Noah does not need to go and trap them, or hunt them down and bring them in, they just lined up when the Ark was done... Now folks, some will not believe that, but I do, and why... BECAUSE IT IS IN MY BIBLE!!

Can you just picture your neighbors if you built a really big boat, an Ark, in your yard and then the animals would come and line up? The neighbors drive by your hunk of ground and see this, and yes, they see a Lion and his mate, and two big old bears. Now I would be doing it and my neighbors might just say, well, old Dan is at it again and this time he crossed the line. But I have neighbors who know the Lord and would be just well might have been called on by God to do this project if it were to have happened today instead of back then... I could see it, "Art, I want you to build an Ark and bring Elaine with you." While we know an Ark will never be needed again, I am just pointing out this... Are you like Noah and Mrs. Noah and my dear, dear neighbors like Art and Elaine who I am sure would answer the call for God. In fact it was just about three years ago when they did answer the call, but things aside and went to the "Check Republic" (I am sure I messed that spelling up) on a mission trip. That is answering the call... HAVE YOU BEEN CALLED BY GOD? DID YOU ANSWER THE CALL? Ok, enough for today, tomorrow we get in the Ark, bring on the animals, and close the door, and then and then and The Rains Came...

Genesis 7:1 - The Lord then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. 2 Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, and a male and its mate, and two off every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made. 5 And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him. (NIV)

Genesis 7:11 - In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. (NIV)

And The Rains Came, and came and came. Genesis 7:17 - For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. (NIV)

Ok, let's review the scriptures of today. First I notice that once again The Lord was talking to Noah. Brothers and Sisters, I can't tell you this too often, The Lord talked to Adam and Eve, to Cain and Abel, and to Noah and his family. Now He also must have talked to the animals because they came to the Ark, Noah did not need to go and fetch them. Then The Lord "commanded" Noah "Go into the ark."

And of course God told Noah again whom to take on board, and while most people think he only loaded his family and two of each animal, and bird, a male and female, but God also told Noah to take seven of the clean animals, a male and his mate... God also ordered on board seven of the birds, making sure there were males and females... Why seven of the animals and birds? And notice it said seven of the clean animals. Why? Food, my dear friends, food. Noah and his family had to eat and so did the animals.

Now here is something that really stands out to me... Noah, now six hundred years old, did everything the Lord commanded of him. The Lord commanded and Noah did it all, EVERYTHING THE LORD COMMANDED OF HIM. The Lord has commanded things of us, but gave us free will to do as we please and a lot of times we have pleased ourselves and sort of forgot those commands of our Lord God. "Sort of forgot?" No, we have been out and out sinners! What would have happened if Noah did not listen to God and obey His orders? The earth might not have ever been again. But Noah listened and all that God wanted on the Ark were on, the door was closed, and the Flood covered the earth, and all mankind was wiped out except those in the Ark...

Today we end with the biggest boat of that time floated on the surface of the water... All on board safe, THANKS FOR TO GOD. The others on earth, gone, and why? Because of their sin!!

Dear Father in Heaven. We thank You for Noah and his family and the examples they showed by their love of You. You gave them a command to build an Ark and it was not easy... You gave us a command to take the Good News to all the world, and I pray that I can uphold this end of the command. Father be with those we have been praying for, and Lord, as we dig in for our big push to help others with food, we need Your help... Thanks for standing shoulder to shoulder with our Ministry team and all the others who come to help. Please multiply the food that is coming in, and thanks for it, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings... This has been a Journey extra. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thanksgiving Day 2011

Proverbs 10:22 - The blessing of the Lord brings wealth. (NIV)

Happy Thanksgiving, brothers and sisters. I pray that God will give you extra blessings on this day, a day set aside to give thanks.

Thanksgiving is one day that makes most happy, except maybe the turkey. It is a day to give thanks to our maker for all the blessings He gives to us each day. And brothers and sisters, He gives us so many blessings that you just cannot sit down and remember them all at one time.
I am so blessed, and you folks, you folks who follow my writings daily and/or whom I know through the antique bus museum, I just want to thank God that you are a part of our life. And please remember if you or a loved one needs prayer, please let me know, and if you or a loved one needs help with food, please let us know.

Now may I take this time to wish all of you HAPPY THANKSGIVING, 2011. May the Good Lord bless and keep you. AMEN.

Love to all of you.

Tuesday Nov. 22, 2011 Healing 2

Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a great day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and home of Carry The Light Ministries and the Ministry Food Pantry. Prayer requests in from Ruby for sight and hearing, also from Vicki for a friend's child of six years old who they are thinking might have cancer. Before I forget, tomorrow, on Salvation Wednesday, we will be having communion so bring your bread for the body and your juice for the blood when you sit down at your computer, and I challenge you to share the communion with a friend at work. Now a praise report, a really big praise report.

On Friday evening I was blessed with being able to sing with the original Couriers, Dave, Duane and Neil, and then they had a love offering gathered for our ministry food pantry... $231.00 dollars was collected. Yesterday we found a sale on potatoes, as last week there was a buy one and get one free for five pound bags at 3.99 a bag. Yesterday we found ten pound bags for $2.29 per bag. Now we are expecting about 100 families to pick up food on December 17th. So with the help of Ministry Partner Grant Crockett we headed out to purchase a THOUSAND POUNDS OF POTATOES. And yes, the sale was real, the potatoes were top shelf Green Giant brand and we got 100 ten pound bags for 2.29, meaning we had 2 dollars of the love offering left over. Then yesterday, old Santa fired up his oldest bus (our Eagle is waiting for a part) and we went to St. Joseph School in Mechanicsburg where the children gathered food to give to Santa for the food bank. So Mrs. Claus and I arrived again with our ministry partners Grant and Wanda and I did my Santa thing and we sang and had fun. Then the older children started to bring forth the food they collected... and they came and came and came. The luggage bays on the bus, all of them, were filled to a point they would hold no more... One of the hardest things to get is cereal and they collected that for us. While the bus was being loaded, I stood and cried, real big tears... GOD IS GOOD, ALL HONOR AND GLORY TO GOD... AMEN...AMEN AND AMEN.

Healing, Day 2. James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise hi up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)

As we talk about anointing with oil and praying for the sick to be healed, often we get asked, do you think your prayers will really cause God to heal people? And my answer is yes, yes, yes. And it is in these verses in James where we get the authority.

Just so you know, as I believe in the direct healing from God, I also believe that He uses people here today to help in His mission of healing. Doctors, nurses, medical people of all walks in life work in the healing of bodies and minds of others, and many are on a direct mission from God. There are others, and some of them we see on TV who have been giving the direct healing message of the Lord. While I do not believe in the showmanship of many of those, I do believe that some have been giving that healing touch from God, healing touch, the ability to touch others in the name of Jesus to be healed. The big thought here is in the name of Jesus. Do I have that gift? I don't know, but I sure do believe in praying and praying and the laying on of hands for healing. If I would have that gift I would also, as I do now, give all the praise and glory to God.

Here is a passage that might make you understand where I am coming from...

From 1 Corinthians 12:27 - Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having GIFTS OF HEALING, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all profits? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have the gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. (NIV)

In our bodies we have many parts making up the body, and it is the same in God's church, one church, many bodies forming the parts of the church. And in our local churches, many people, and each should take part in the church, a pastor cannot carry out all of the duties of a church, and I think he must be free to be a pastor, or to take care of his flock. It takes many workers. Many helpers and many more to pray for them. Tomorrow, more on healing and please start praying now for our healing and communion service on Thanksgiving Eve. Let's pray now.

Dear Father, in the blessed name of our Lord Jesus, I come to you asking for you to heal baby boy Noah from cancer, a young girl, whose name we have not received as of yet, for healing from cancer. For Ruby for healing of her sight and hearing, and for Dolores to have her knee healed. For Grant to whip his mind clean of the battles left from Viet Nam in his mind. Please, Lord, clear his mind of those things, help him turn them over to You. In the name of Jesus, we give all honor and glory for all the food coming into our little food pantry that we operate in Your name. Thanks for bringing in a person last night who need food and prayers. Lord, we love You very, very much, and we give thanks for this day and we would like to give it back to You by living to please You and sharing Your word to others. In the name of Jesus I ask for help for this and for the forgiveness of my sins... Amen

Now go forth sharing your blessings, sharing the love of God with others, and living not just this day but everyday to please Jesus... and remember Communion tomorrow... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday Nov. 21, 2011 Healing

Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the Kingdom and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. As promised, I would take a break from the Journey this week and write on Healing. This getting you and also me ready for a healing service on Wednesday Evening at the Bridges at Bent Creek. Service time is 6.30 PM.

Please today pray for our leaders, for our president and his family. Speaking of his family, Michelle Obama, yesterday along with Dr. Biden, the wife of our vice president, were at the NASCAR race and did the Gentlemen Start Your Engines thing. They also did an interview with her before the race. I was impressed, she was very well spoken and did not use a teleprompter, she spoke highly of our military, and would not get involved with trying to pick a winner yesterday. Pray for our other leaders and also all of those in the military.

Healing Matthew 4: 23 - Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the Kingdom and healing every disease and sickness among the people. (NIV)

God made us in His image and how God is perfect so we in fact were made perfect then given free will... I want to talk about some of the things we do that bring sickness, injury, etc., on ourselves. I also want to talk about our lifestyles and jobs and how that can also cause sickness and injury. Also there is no doubt that some problems come down from our parents. But we can be healed by the hands of Jesus, by His hands we may be healed. Today I want to go into the Bible and look at a few places where Jesus healed. Unless otherwise noted all scriptures come from the NIV Bible. Let's start in and yes, I want to repeat this scripture again. Matthew 4: 23 - Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and HEALING every disease and sickness among the people... Now let's take a good look at a few very important parts of that one verse...

Jesus did not just pick one or two people to heal, He healed them all. The Bible states He healed "Every disease and sickness." So right there start having faith in the hand of Jesus healing you REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU... CANCER, PAIN, KNEES, SHOULDERS, BACKS, MS, MD, HIV, and I could go on... The Bible goes on to say in Verse 24, and listen to this... He healed "those with severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed." Can it get any better than that? YES.

Look at this from Matthew 8:1 - When He came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed Him. 2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before Him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." 3 Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man, "I am willing," He said "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded as a testimony to them."

Again in this chapter it tells of Jesus healing the sick... Also that He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases... He carried them... HE CARRIED THEM...

Now here it talks about our faith... DO YOU HAVE FAITH THAT GOD WILL HEAL YOU... Listen to this from Matthew 9: 21/22 - She said to herself, "If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed." 22 Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," He said, "YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU."

Then Jesus went and saw a girl all believed was dead... "Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep." And Jesus brought her back...

I want you to really pray for the eyes of those who cannot see today. From Matthew 9: 27/31 - As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, calling out. "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" When He had gone indoors, the blind men came to Him, and He asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. Then He touched their eyes and said, "ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH WILL IT BE DONE TO YOU." AND THEIR SIGHT WAS RESTORED.

Once again I want to state this to you... If you are born again, if you believe that Jesus came here to heal you from your sins, and if you believe that He will take you into Heaven because of your faith, then you should have enough faith in Jesus to bring on healing. Don't think a blind person can not be given their sight back... Don't think a person that has cancer will not be healed. HAVE FAITH, my dear brothers and sisters, Jesus will heal you, according to your faith. ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH... it tells us that here in the Bible. I will show you places where God's mind was changed by the prayers and lifestyle of the one praying. I am telling you right now, if I did not believe that God healed I would not be having this service on this coming Wednesday evening, oh and if you want to come, please do. More prayers, more faith, the better. Also on Thanksgiving I want to pray for those on this line for healing, so if you have pain, cancer, heart problems, and you have faith that God will heal you, please send in your request and I will post it for the faithful to pray over. The prayer of a follower of Jesus is powerful, my dear brothers and sisters. The prayer of a faithful person has power, there is power in prayer, and power in faith in Jesus. Jesus wants us whole, that is why we were made in His image. Amen.

Again I want to be very sure I make this clear... I am not healing anyone, Jesus is the healer, the same today as yesterday and before... I am a messenger for Him, and yes, I am praying that God heals you through my hands as he did the hands of His disciple. I am telling the good news God wants us all to be like Him. He made us that way. Come on, brothers and sisters, pray with me... pray with me.

Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered up in FAITH will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, Please hear our prayers for healing and by Your hand, not mine, but Yours, please heal your children this day according to Your will. Amen.

Now go forth this day, sharing your love of Jesus and sharing your blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.

Friday Nov. 18, 2011 The Journey 2011-15

After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

If you come, look for me, I will be the one who looks just like, ME. (Santa)

Second. Next week I am going to set the journey aside for a few days. I will be writing about healing through Jesus. On Wednesday Evening, Thanksgiving Eve. 6.30 PM at the Bridges of Bent Creek, I will be preaching on healing, and anointing with oil as we also serve communion. The Bridges Of Bent Creek 2100 Bent Creek Blvd. Mechanicsburg Pa. Call me for more information 717 991 0754.

There will be no message on "Black Friday" as we have a loaded schedule, and we will pick up on The Journey on Monday, as we learn about the Ten Commandments and then move to the New Testament as we work toward Christmas and the Birth of Jesus.

FRIDAY and the day we pray for all who work for our Lord Jesus, and today let's really feature those men of Gospel. Dave, Duane, and Neil.

Also prayers are needed for Vicki, and folks, please keep Vicki in your daily prayers, as she has a lot of health problems. Prayers for Carol Harris, for our son Matthew, and for Sonshine Ministries. Also for Sterling, for Baby Boy Noah, for Bob Beard and his wife Faye. And again I ask for prayers for the many Ministries of Carry The Light Ministries. Ok, let's get back in the sleigh and get on with THE JOURNEY.

The Journey 2011-Day 15 Genesis 5:12 - After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Genesis 6:1 - When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, "My spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal, his days will be a hundred and twenty years. (NIV)

Once again, folks, I ask you with all my being, please take time to read your Bible and this time chapters 6,7,8 and 9. I just am not going to type it all out. But let's talk about it, in short. Noah was a great man, one who really loved the Lord and the Lord also found favor in Noah and his family. The Lord saw that man was mortal and made it so they would not live forever and in fact placed on them a time limit of one hundred and twenty years. Most folks do not make it that long and although our years on earth seem to be increasing, we still in the most part kick-off, bug-out, ok, pass on, before we are 95. So when we look back at the age of Noah when he fathered his three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth we find he was 500 years old. Now the Lord did not like what was going on, on this earth, because man had become wicked. Men were ""sleeping around" and the thoughts of men were on evil most all of the time. But God found favor in Noah and his family. Found favor meaning those men were living to please the Lord along with their wives. Now God decided that He needed to wipe out all of mankind because they were wicked. So God called on Noah, and I think it would have gone something like this...

Good Morning, Noah... Noah, I really appreciate you and your family for being righteous and following how I think man should live. So I need you to do some work for me. You see, Noah, I am going to cause it to rain and cause a ---- Excuse me, Lord, but what is rain?

Rain, Noah, will come from the sky, all that water that is above the sky, you remember in creation, I separated the water from the water and made sky and earth. Now I put water on the ground and made the rivers and the springs but I did not make it rain as of yet. Now it is going to rain and it is going to be a good one. I mean really big, Noah, so I would like you and your family to build an ark and then God gave instructions on how to build an ark, and who to put on it. So Noah get busy, for you have a lot of work to get done and a short time to get it done.

Well, folks, I will try and write more on this tomorrow, with a Saturday Special to stay on schedule. Again please read about this in your Bible... For now, let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins today, I confess I am a sinner saved only by the grace of God, and I ask you make me new all over again. Lord, I want to live this day for You and Lord, please look over our prayer lists and act on them according to Your Will, Lord... Bless also this day the concert of Dave Duane and Neil... In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

mpe hp gptyjr smf djstr upit n;rddomhd/ Woops, my fingers were on the wrong keys, sort of like typing in tongues here is what it said. Now go forth and share your blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thursday Nov. 17, 2011 The Journey 2011-13

When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Thursday and the day we pray for our schools, churches and for families. And again I say, please pray for the family of God. You will notice I have added today to pray for CHURCHES. Excuse me, I should have had them on the prayer list years and years ago. All churches need prayer and you know what I am talking about when I say to pray for our schools and churches. Yes, we need to pray some for the building, but a school and a church are made up of people and they are the ones who need prayers. Example, Penn State University, the buildings, did no wrong, it was the people who work in the buildings. However, we do need to pray for the buildings, and for the people to have the money coming in to keep them in good repair.

Please keep praying for Carol, who was sent to the hospital yesterday, for Sterling and Luella. And others who have been on our daily prayer list. Please keep praying for Carry The Light Ministries, as our big push is on to get food, and to sort it and pack it. We have people coming almost daily for help for the month, and of course we have our big Christmas event to help people stock up on some things.

When you are packing for a hundred families it takes a lot of help... Needed now, canned fruit, cereal, and also Mac and Cheese (about 500 boxes).

The Journey 2011 Day 13: Genesis 5:1b - When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, He called them "man." 3 When Adam had lived 130 years he had a son in his own image and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether Adam lived 930 years, then he died. (NIV)

Adam at 130 years old and still had a baby, wow, ladies how would you like to have been Eve? Then the Bible tells us he had more sons and daughters. And Adam died at 930 years old, gosh, in today's market that would be 865 years on Social Security. That would break the system. Gosh, was Adam's Social Security number really (1)? Yes, folks, I am having a little fun this morning. I want you to try each day to have fun, sing some and laugh a little. Yes, we Christians can smile, we can laugh, we can have fun as we share Jesus with others. Some folks think that you cannot have fun and also love the Lord. No, we still have fun, we just have good clean fun, and the next morning no hang over.

Get some good gospel music for your machine that plays music, and listen to the Lord's music. Start playing Christmas Music, if you are like Mrs. Claus and old Santa, we love Christmas music and play it year round.

Just a short review today... God made Adam, and then Eve, they sinned and we are still paying today. Adam and Eve started with two sons, and one murdered the other... Then Adam and Eve had more children, and so did Cain, the remaining of the first two born to Adam and Eve... Adam and Eve were made in the image of God. We also are made in the image of God and a whole lot of people don't act like it ever and the rest of us don't act like it sometimes. Today I want you to see what God looks like so I want you to go to the mirror and take a good look in that mirror and know you are made in the image of God. Today walk in His light, follow in His footsteps, pray for others, lay hands on them as you pray, and sing a song. Remember even if you need to put the tune in a bucket, you are making a joyful noise. If you have a friend or someone at work who never smiles, and maybe it is your boss, target them, sing around them, tell them to have a "Blessed Day" and do it each day till they smile at You.

Dear Father, we want to walk in Your light, for we are made in the image of God, in the image of God I have been made and I want to love on You and live to please You. Help me with it, Lord, and Lord, according to Your will please answer our prayers. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth acting like You are the son or daughter of God, for indeed we are children of our Lord, and we are made in his image. Share your blessings with others and one of those blessings is a smile... To put it as Doug Boyer once wrote in song, and He and Tim Beitzel sang... "Come on and Smile, Jesus loves You." And I love ya also. Pastor Dan.

Wed. Nov. 16, 2011 The Journey 2011-12

Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man." Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today we pray for the unsaved and for those of us who are saved, born again, washed in the blood, walking with Jesus Christians, we need to pray that He helps us to seek out the lost and bring them to Him to be saved. Other prayer requests today, for Vicki, Carol Harris, Judy, and the whole Penn State mess. Pray that God heals the victims and that those involved will pray to be forgiven.

Let's start today by asking God to forgive us. Each of us are on our own for this one.

Dear Father in Heaven, I know I am a sinner and only by the grace of Jesus and His blood am I forgiven. Yet still I mess up and sin, and ask this day to be washed clean again. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

The Journey 2011-12 Genesis 4:1 - Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man." 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. (NIV)

As they grew up, Abel worked the flocks and Cain worked the dirt. Later Cain brought forth to the Lord some fruits of his labor as did his brother Abel. The Lord looked with favor at what Abel brought forth but He did not look with favor at what Cain brought. This upset Cain and made him mad!! Angry!! Why would the Lord look with favor on one offering and not the other? The Bible tells us that Abel brought forth fat portions from some of his first born. It does not say that Cain brought forth things from his first crop. While I am reading between the lines on this one this morning and asking God to help me, it appears to me that Abel gave to God from the top, and maybe Cain did not bring in from the first fruits but brought forth later... In our giving we should be giving off the top, and not what might be left over. The Lord even asked Cain why he was angry and told him if he did what was right He would also be looked upon with favor.
But Cain was still upset and invited his brother to come to the fields with him. While in the fields Cain attack Abel and killed him.

Thus we had THE FIRST MURDER. When the Lord asked Cain about his brother and where he might be Cain replied. "Who am I, my brother's keeper?" The Lord told Cain that Abel's blood cried out from the earth. Then the Lord put Cain under a curse and had driven him from the grounds that he worked... Tomorrow more on that FIRST MURDER.

In closing today you can see that this was not just the first murder but the first domestic fight. And it does not end even to this date. Evil, Satan remains very busy, and the only way to get rid of Satan in your life is to live your life for Jesus. Even with that Satan will try and get you. When Satan comes after you, stop and drop. Get on your knees and talk to God. And when Satan is letting you alone, stop and drop, get on your knees and give thanks. Amen.

Now go forth and please take time to read Genesis Chapter 4 and yes. by all means share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Nov. 15, 2011 The Journey 2011-11

So the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals. You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head and you will strike his heel." To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you. To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it," Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. I will produce thorns and thistles for you and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground since from it you were taken for dust you are and to dust you will return."

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and the day we pray for cures for those diseases like cancer, liver problems, kidneys problems, Parkinson's and so many, many more. Let's also add to our Tuesday prayers for abortion to be outlawed.

A few weeks ago a doctor from Philly was charged with two counts of murder as babies he aborted were still living when delivered and he cut their spinal cords to kill them. He plea bargained on two counts, then after that admitted he did HUNDREDS of these murders. Also we need prayers for healing from cancer for Ron, another Ron, baby boy Noah, Kathy. We need healing for heart problems for Dennis, husband of Tina, a nurse from the Bridges. For Karen, who had a stroke, for Lena Stitt who this week will be having surgery to put in her sixth stint. For our son Matthew, Holy Spirit Hospital mental health unit (deep depression). For Grant's legs. For Bob and Faye Beard, and also an unnamed person from the bus industry.

Praise report on Glenn and Marie Gamber. This aging couple is back home together again, all due to the GRACE OF GOD.

Please pray for Carry The Light Ministries, and the food pantry. Our list is growing and growing. Prayers for Pam. Also for me.

The Journey 2011-11 Genesis 3:14 - So the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals. You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head and you will strike his heel." 16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you. 17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it," Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground since from it you were taken for dust you are and to dust you will return." (NIV)

Genesis 3:20 - Adam named his wife Eve. Because she would become the mother of all the living. (NIV)

Yesterday I asked two questions, and sadly no one either knew the answers or just did not respond. The first question was what was on that tree in the center of the garden. Most folks talk about eating from the apple, but the Lord only referred to it as a "fruit" tree and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The second question was asked when we were praying for our president and I asked what is the name of the first lady. And no, it was not Michelle Obama. The name of the "first lady" who as named by Adam and recorded in Genesis 3:20 is Eve.

Let's look at what we all are paying for because that first couple did not obey God. The serpent is going to crawl on its belly and eat dirt. Its offspring will be crushed by humans, and they also will strike at the heals of humans. If you folks are like me you hate snakes, and will take a shovel to them before they get to me. And ladies, because Eve, who was called woman till Adam named her as recorded in Genesis 3:20, did not follow the commands of God, and instead listened to Satan who appeared in the makeup of a serpent and picked and ate some FRUIT from the tree in the middle of the garden, you will hurt during child bearing and child birth. And may I add this in right now, if us wimpy men had to have the children and go through all that pain well, let's say there would be far fewer children, and the world would have ended long ago. And men, because of Adam, we need to weed our gardens and our fields and we need to wear gloves or we would have thorns sticking in our hands. Even when I go out and reach into my hay bales to feed my beloved goats, I get thorns sticking into my hands. The Bible also talks about working the fields by the sweat of our brows. Farming is not easy, and folks, I hate to say this, but here in America we are so spoiled, that the farmers cannot hire enough people, even in this time of millions on unemployment comp, that they must go and bring people in from other countries to work our fields so we may eat. If I were president I would work hard to do this. If a person is drawing unemployment they would need to go to a public building each day and sweep the floor, unless they were on job interviews. The Bible tells us that if we do not work, we should not eat. Again I said that those who will not work should not eat, but those who CANNOT work, we need to take care of or help them as needed. And when I say we, I mean just that, not our government taking dollars to help others, we should do it on our own, through our churches, etc.

You will also remember that God placed man into the garden naked, and his wife was also that way. As we look into their first clothes.

In Genesis 3:7 - Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realized they were naked, so they sewed the leaves together and made coverings for themselves. (NIV)

Gosh, I bet if we still had to make our clothes from leaves, I would learn in a hurry which one is poison ivy!!! But even with God being upset with Adam and his wife Eve, He did this for them.

Genesis 3:21 - The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the Lord God said, "The man has now become evil." (NIV)

Dear Father, You made clothes for man even when we first sinned and You are still providing clothes for us this day. Thank You, Lord. Dear Father, please look over our prayer requests and act on them according to Your will for us and for the people in those requests. Thanks again for Jesus, and Lord, may we honor You for this day You have given us, by living to please You. In the name of Jesus, I need help doing that, and in His name I also pray. Amen.

Go forth now, caring, sharing and doing your best to be like Jesus. Oh, and yes, share those blessings by faith and watch them grow. Love Ya, Pastor Dan.
