O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar.

What a great day yesterday, found out that Julie Campbell got engaged this past weekend. Julie is the daughter of Rob and Martha Campbell. Gosh, I remember Julie as a little girl, and always very, very nice. Please pray for this young couple. I need to get the young man's name.
Please pray for Barb, now on life support and bleeding in the stomach. Pray also for Vicki, she has a full plate of health issues. Pray for Pastor Tony and Ruby and also Pastor Charles and Katherine and Pastor Rick and Barbara. Also pray for Pastor Larry and Luella, in fact, please pray for pastors today. Pastors need our prayers and support.
He Knows Us (Day 1) Psalm 139:1 - O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down, you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. (NIV)
Well, that scripture should scare us a tad. I want you to think about it, but first look at this scripture.
Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you a prophet to the nations." (NIV)
Our Lord God knew us before we were in the womb! Before we were a twinkle in our dad and mamma's eyes, we were known by God. And if you think this scripture is just for Jeremiah you are wrong. God knew us. Think of this, I say THINK OF THIS. God knew all of those babies that have been murdered by some killer who calls himself or herself a doctor. God knew us before we were in the womb and He also knows all of those babies. Think of it, He had already set them apart. Maybe a president or two, or a preacher or priest or maybe a rabbi. Maybe a top shelf doctor, or another prophet. Think of all those taxpayers who have just been deleted. It is not right, people get things on the computer they do not want, they hit the delete key. They find a baby in the womb and hit the off key.
Let's go back to that lead-in scripture that God gave me today. God states, He searched me and He knows me. He looked us up and down, inside and out and He knows each of us... Does that make you a tad nervous? If it doesn't, it should. Let me move on. He knows us when we sit and when we rise... Let's look at that verse a tad and let me put it like this. He knows us when we sit on the edge of the bed getting up, and the day is beautiful and we say, "Wow", it would be a great day for a round of golf, so we pick up the phone and call the boss and in a weak voice we say, hey boss, please mark me off sick... What's wrong today, young man, your boss might say, and you think one up real fast... Sir, I have golfitis, and off you go for a round of golf. Maybe you fooled your boss but you made a fool out of yourself before God. God knows our thinking, all of our thinking.
Are you a tad nervous about this yet? If not, you should be. God knows our thinking before we think it.
Look at this. Psalm 139, verse 2, the second part. You perceive my thoughts from afar. Folks, you might have gotten away with some of your thinking about your boss, but God knew and knows what you are thinking... Now people are putting things down on the computer, and wait a minute, it does not say in the Bible that God reads computer notes, but your boss does, and before you write something on the computer, don't you need to think about it? And God knows that thinking. Sometimes I think people don't think before they hit the old send key. This, folks, is one reason we do not need to ramble on and on when we pray for God already knows our heart. Yes, God wants us to pray and pray and pray. But before we pray, God knows our heart. And think about this, my brothers and sisters, and I must ask this. How many of you prayed to be forgiven from a sin before you committed the sin? Lord, I know this is so wrong, please forgive me and then you did the sin.
So this scripture tells us that God knows us, so my question for you this fine day is just this.
DO YOU KNOW HIM?
Dear Father in Heaven, You know us, You know our hearts, You know when we go to the altar and confess over to You, if it is real or just put on. Lord, it is time we learn You more and more. By that I mean that we fall deeper and deeper in Love with You. Help us with that, and Lord, please look over our prayer lists and honor them according to Your will. In the name of the one who knows my heart, my dear Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, my brothers and sisters, and share from your heart the blessings that God has given and will give to you. Yes, walk out on a limb for Jesus and share your blessings even before you receive them. Jesus knows and loves you, can you say the same for Him... love ya, Pastor Dan.
