My dear children, I write to you so that you will not sin but if anyone does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and it is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Yesterday was wonderful, we took a break and with our friends Grant and Wanda Crockett did a lunch and theater afternoon at Allenberry Playhouse. The food was good as always and the play about the Andrews Sisters was top shelf. Folks, if you want a nice time out, go to Allenberry for a great play. Coming up next, "Hello Dolly". The Heinze Family who owns and operates Allenberry Playhouse and Resort Inn is one of the biggest supporters of Carry The Light Ministries, and have been for 15 years. From tires to our van to food for the pantry, they have been there for us. Last year we received 50 Turkeys and Hams for our Christmas food drive.
While I am talking food, please remember our annual picnic on July 2nd, and on Monday I am going to tell you who is coming to sing... Hint, The best baritone singer in all of Gospel Music.
Come and be a part of it... It is free and lots of food and drinks (no alcohol).
Friday and the day we pray for all those who work in the Fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus.
Also please pray for Kathleen Sansoni, Kathleen is very, very sick with cancer and is not at 90 pounds... Please pray for healing according to God's will. She is born again, and ready to go home when called. Please pray also for husband Tom as they make this journey together. I married Tom and Kathleen years ago in an outside wedding at Camp Hill Park. Please pray also for Pat who is in the hospital and recovering from surgery.
What's in a Name 4: 1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write to you so that you will not sin but if anyone does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. (NIV)
Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth, to Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His Blood. (NIV)
A few names of Jesus coming out of these scriptures. God is an Advocate, and a Faithful Witness.
Jesus Christ as our attorney, have you ever really taken time to think about that? I know we have attorneys on this line and we have some who are great supporters of our ministries, but how many folks out there really hate attorneys? I love my attorneys and I have three of them. Robert and Mary Ann Clarval and their boss and our top attorney "Jesus Christ". Maybe you never thought of Jesus as an attorney but He will be just that... In fact He could have different jobs as an attorney and let me explain that. In law there are many many types of attorneys. I am not going to name them all, but let's see.
We have family attorneys, and folks, if you would go to attorney Jesus first with your family you might not need the earthly family attorneys. We have bankruptcy attorneys, and if we handled our money as told to us by God we would not need those bail out attorneys.
In court rooms we have prosecuting attorneys and defense attorneys and Jesus is both of them. And we also have most of our Judges who have been attorneys. Ok, how do you want it? Do you want Jesus to be your prosecuting attorney when you appear before God The Father? Picture this, and I am just making up names here.
Jesus would say, Father, this is Sinner Morris Minor and Father, I do not know this man, I shed my blood for Him, Father, and he turned his back on me. Father, I did for him as I did for all men and women just as You sent me to do, but Morris here would not listen. Father, I do not know him, and therefore please do not let him in. Father, even though his family is here, I must ask that You, Father, reject Him... With that Morris Minor is off to Hell!!
Now picture Jesus as your defense attorney.
Jesus would say, Father, this is sinner Mary Mae Murphy, and Father, I know this lady well, she was a sinner, but she came to me and asked me to forgive her. After that, Father, she worked hard for me, telling others about me, and helping to feed the poor and clothe the naked. Father, most of her family is here, please swing open the gates and welcome home, Mary Mae Murphy.
And of course with that we also know that it is Judge Jesus with God The Father who is sitting with him... it is simple, Jesus did the work... Next week, more of What's in a name...
Dear Father in Heaven, hear our prayers, dear Lord, to help those who are working for You and for us to help get out more workers. Be with Pat and with Kathleen and let Your healing hand on them according to Your will. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings and have a great weekend. Try to get to church and worship your KING... love ya, Pastor Dan. 717 991 0754 to RSVP or for prayer or food.
