Tuesday 6/14/11 What's in a Name? 6

When Jesus came wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!"

Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters, and today, please welcome Lucius Gabriel, 5 pounds, 2 ounces into the world. Grandmother Linda Miller is beaming as this child arrived 4 weeks early.
Pray for the baby, the parents David and Kelsey, and yes please remember old grandma. (I just had to do that.)

Wow, another Tuesday, my 3,644th Tuesday, and it is the day we pray for a cure for all those things that ail people, we pray for healing from cancer for those like Kathleen and Ronald, however, we pray to God for the cure to be found, so the suffering will stop. And we pray that knees stop wearing out, and the things that cause a spine to twist as we age to be stopped. Yes, our Lord God, The Man, who made us surely can mend us when we get worn or broken. Often working through the hands of others, God is still in the healing business.

Please remember the picnic, July 2nd, Willow Mill Park, Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg Pa.
We eat at noon, however, starting at 11:00 AM we will be hearing the wonderful voice of a great, in my opinion, the greatest baritone singer God has blessed, Timothy Beitzel. I call him my brother, and let me tell you, this is all "FREE" no offering plate, NO MINISTRY MONEY being used, it is our family picnic and you are a big part of our family, so come and hear Tim, and have lunch on Dolores and me. Please do bring a few dollars for Timothy might have some recordings to sell, and you would surely want to take some of his music home.

What's in a Name 6: John 19:5 - When Jesus came wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!" (NIV)

Jesus is THE MAN!! Don't you just love that name for our God? The Man! You hear it used so often these days, in sayings like he's the man, or here comes the man, or he's my man, or he da man, and yes, I could go on and on. Years ago you might have gotten phone calls with people selling stuff asking to speak to the "man of the house." But Jesus is The one and only "Man". Please note the large M in Man when used for God... and yes, He's The Man, and my main Man, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, please let this Man head up your house and make it a home, for if you are living in a house without "The Man" heading it up, it is indeed NOT a home. Someone say Amen!

Let's look at a few more names, did you know that "Linda" means "Pretty One"?

John 12:24 - "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." (NIV)

Just another name for our Lord God, "A Grain of Wheat", and maybe just a tad harder to understand why this could be used as another name. Have you ever seen a head of wheat in a field, each head has many seeds, or let me use grass, did you ever let your grass grow so long you said "if I don't soon cut it I will need to make hay"? Well, when the grass gets long seeds form on the top and those seeds produce more grass. The seeds that fall to the ground from the wheat produce more wheat. In fact farmers must save some of their wheat seeds from what is used to make bread so it can be planted again. So how does God figure into this, before He could keep us from dying, and remember if we love Jesus we just move on high, but before that seed of life could be shown to us, before we could be saved through His blood, His seed so to speak, He had to die, be buried and be risen from the dead... Yes, our Lord God, A GRAIN OF WHEAT. Hope that clears it a tad for you.

John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (NIV)

So here we can really find a couple of names. God is "The Resurrection, God is The Life." This scripture God gave me this morning really feeds into John 12:24 and maybe, just maybe, I should have put them the other way around, as they would flow better, but this way, and it is the way God pointed them out to me, this way we had to think a tad. Jesus was risen from the dead and walked out of the tomb and my dear brothers and sisters, if we die here on this earth first, according to His word, our soul goes straight to heaven, and our body is returned to the earth (or sea) and when Jesus returns for His bride (that would be the believers), The Word, the Truth, in our Bible tells us the ground will break open and the dead in Christ shall rise, and the seas will also give up the bodies, and those believers in Jesus that are alive will meet with Jesus in the clouds, in the sky. And we all said,
PRAISE THE LORD. Now while I don't know when God "The Resurrection" will come back for us, I will just tell you this. IT COULD BE TODAY! Yes, it could, and if you are not ready, you will miss the "flight". Let us pray God's most mentioned veggie, Let us.

Dear Father in Heaven, You are The Grain of Wheat and The Resurrection and I pray that I can use the term we want to also be like You, we want to spread some seeds to others about You and see if we can change the minds of the non-believer so that they also might believe and be saved by You. Help us learn that like a farmer who spreads seeds we must also work the ground, we cannot just tell a person once but we must follow that up, and Lord, I mention this as we need help with doing that. Please look over our prayer requests and that from Glenvale Church also and honor our prayers please by Your will and not ours. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen

Go forth now sharing your blessings and serving our Lord God. Remember the picnic, on July 2nd, I would love to meet you... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
