June 3, 2011 Storms 3

The disciples went and woke Him, saying "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, the storm subsided and all was calm. "Where is your faith?" He asked His disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him."

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful day here at the Southern location of the North Pole. Today is the day we pray for all of those who work in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. So as you pray, please pray for the pastor/pastors at your church, for your Sunday School Teachers, and for your upcoming Vacation Bible School and all who teach and attend. And pray for we in Carry The Light Ministries and all of our outreaches. Pray for all those road warriors who take the word in song around the world, and for all the missionaries that travel the world, and yes, you should be on the list for YOU SHOULD BE WORKING FOR OUR LORD ALSO.

Storms (Day 3) Luke 8:22 - One day Jesus said to His disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, He fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. 24 The disciples went and woke Him, saying "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, the storm subsided and all was calm. 25 "Where is your faith?" He asked His disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him." (NIV)

"Who is this?" The disciples asked each other. Well, folks, if you are asking me who this is who has command over the winds and rains and all of the storms, I will just say, this. It is my Master, my Lord, my Savior, the one who died for me so I might live. The one who forgives me of my sins, and the who just yesterday kept Dolores and me from getting hit head on when a car coming the other way was passing on a two-lane road, over a double yellow line. I want you to not just think about the storms that are weather-related today, but all of those storms that enter your life.

Who is the one who helps you each day to get over those storms of life, and please don't tell me you don't have some storms in your life. Wayward kids, health problems of your own and maybe some in your family. Bills that have stacked up because your work ended. Aging parents, no food in your house to feed the kids, the car is out of gas, but really does not need any because it doesn't run anyway... Sometimes it gets overwhelming, but hold it, the one who calms the storms of the weather, and we found that in the Bible, that same man will calm the storms in your life regardless of what they are and he does it because He loves you, not because He owes you.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for calming the storms in our life, thanks for keeping our boat afloat and keeping our cars out of trouble, and, Lord, thanks for putting clothes on our backs and food on our tables and in our bellies. Thanks for blessing us each day, even when we forget to ask and say thanks. Lord, You are wonderful... and I pray in your name. Amen.

Now go forth, giving it over to Jesus, let Him carry those burdens and storms, trust Him and have faith in Him and share the blessings He has given to you, and be sure to work for Him, using the talents that He has loaned you... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
