Thursday 6/30/11 He Knows Us! 4

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me." Even the darkness will not be dark to You. The night will shine like the day for darkness is as light to You.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters! It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and the weather for our picnic is predicted to be perfect. It is not too late to come, and yes, you may bring your family. And now we know that one of Santa's toy makers will be here in person. Really, he is one of God's toy makers and he will be bringing with him over 300 wooden toys. This man and his crew have furnished us lots of toys and I have never met him or any of his crew. Exciting times on Saturday, and even more exciting when Tim Beitzel cuts loose singing God's word. And oh, that food, cakes and pies, salads and soup and lots of sandwiches of meatballs, and BBQ and yes, lots of hot dogs. We put the grill away, so no smoke to trouble you. To drink we have Ice Tea and Lemonade, water and blueberry juice. No booze and no sodas. It will be fun... and please come, for some of you, I have never met. Here it is again, and no need to call, just come.

When- Saturday July 2, 2011
Where- Willow Mill Park, Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, Pa. Just off route 81 onto route 114.
Why- Because we love you!

For directions or if you get lost on your way in, call my pocket phone 717 991 0754.

Thursday and the day we pray for our schools and our families, and folks, our schools and families need prayer. Most of all we need to pray for the family of God. Please pray for Josh as he bids on a nice house to make a home for him and his mother.

He Knows Us, 4: Psalms 139:11- If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me." 12 Even the darkness will not be dark to You. The night will shine like the day for darkness is as light to You. (NIV)

Have you noticed that most crimes occur after dark? Thieves break into businesses after they close at night, drug deals in a lot of places take place on darkened street corners. People up to no good hide in the darkened corners of our cities and try and make easy money. They think that the police will not see them, and that the people who live by the law already went to bed. But God can see you even in the dark, and can see your mind as you plan things out... Kids, God can even see if you washed behind your ears, and if you brushed your teeth or just wet the toothbrush. God even knew when my mamma was going to give me a licking before it happened. In fact when I look back I can remember hearing that little voice in my head saying, Danny, you are going to get it for this if your mamma finds out. Looking back I now know that God already knew. God can tell if you are a "Goodie Two Shoes" as we once used that term about someone who wanted to look really good, but did not live the life. In fact, if you do not live the life more than likely you are living the lie.

So what do you think God is thinking when you are getting ready to sin and He knows it is coming? Might He be thinking, oh, this is going to hurt because that Danny is going to drive another nail in my hands today. I am sure when we mess up it hurts God. You know how we as parents feel the pain when our kids mess up, even if it seems to only hurt them, it hurts the parents also. And think about it, God is our Father and loves us and it hurts Him to see us go astray. I would think it hurts Him when He sees us who will not forgive someone who has hurt us... In fact, it hurts Him that badly that His word tells us that He is only going to forgive us as we forgive others.

So what do your actions say about us? Yes, our own actions say a lot about us! In the book of Titus (yes, there is a book in the Bible called Titus.) It is in this book it tells you it is a sin to speed, can you find it? Anyway listen to this.

Titus 1:16 - They claim to know God, but by their actions they DENY Him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. (NIV)

Look at what it tells us about a man (woman) who deny God, even if they claim to love Him... They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Does that not tell you that if you were the one doing the hiring and firing at your job that you should try and find out if the one you wants to hire really loves God? Yet if you do that you will be in trouble with the ACLU and the God haters of the world. Could you see the interview for the job... Hi, my name is Dan Lehman and I am doing the interview today. You say your name is Joe Smith, right? Do you love God and believe in His word in the Bible? Joe then says to you, you can't ask me questions like that and I am telling on you.

Of course if you are the one doing the interview and you truly love our Lord Jesus, you will pick up in the interview if the other person loves Jesus. It will come out.

If you are a person who says he/she loves Jesus and really are living the lie, it is the biggest lie that you are living with. Remember if you deny Jesus before man, Jesus will deny you before His Father.

Dear Father in Heaven, I love you and I will not deny you, neither in front of man or in court or anyplace else. I love You that much, Lord Jesus, that I would now stand in your place if I could. But Jesus, I confess it took me a long, long time to get to that point. Keep hold of me, Lord, hold me tight and never let me walk away again. I pray today that everyone will pray that prayer from their heart... It is time we get nearer and nearer to You. IN Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth remembering to share your blessings, and remember the holiday on Monday is not the July 4th, that is the date. The Holiday is Independence Day, the Birthday anniversary of our Nation, our nation is 235 years old... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wednesday 6/29/11 He Knows Us 2

You hem me in, behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, ever there your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast.

Good Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. The day we pray for the unsaved and pray we can help bring those who are unsaved to the feet of Jesus to enjoy and be blessed by being saved.

Also, dear brothers and sisters, please remember to come to the picnic on Saturday, this Saturday, July 2nd. Come early and enjoy some great music by Baritone Singer Tim Beitzel. Willow Mill Park, Silver Spring Township, and you need to bring nothing, except maybe your lawn chair. Pray for the event please, pray my cooking is good!! Pray for a nice day. No time to RSVP, come anyway, there will be plenty.

Prayers for Vicki, Vicki has a very, very full plate of health issues.

He Knows Us 2: Psalm 139:5 - You hem me in, behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast. (NIV)

Yes, folks, He knows us, He knows you and He knows me. Did you just stop and think about this, all the millions and millions of people and He knows you and He knows me. He even has the hairs on our heads numbered, look at this!

Matthew 10:29 - Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are numbered. 31 So don't be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows. (NIV)

I know that on some of you the numbers are not so high anymore, but know that Jesus knows you and loves you just as much. (I wonder, does He know my hair brush, where most of my hair can be found?) (Just kidding, folks.)

HE KNOWS ME!! I just cannot get past that fact, that He knows me and He knows you, and He knows all of us. And that means He even knows those who do not believe in Him, and look at this, we can't even hide from Him. He hems us in, meaning to me, He surrounds us with His big loving arms. He is all around us, even when we might have slipped and fell or tried to get away from Him, He was still there. I thought I was a lost son and now I am finding out that is a term, I was never lost for my God was with me, I was just not with Him. The Bible tells me this, maybe not in these words, but tells me this, I can run, but I can't hide. Think of how those God Haters must feel, they do not believe in God, yet He never ever leaves them. Our mission for each day, and we remind ourselves of the mission each week on Salvation Wednesdays that we need to just get the word to those who say they do not know Jesus, that He loves them anyway and is just waiting there for them to know and love Him.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? And if you are asking God that question your answer will be if you listen, "You can't." You can run but you cannot hide.
If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. God even knows me and where I am regardless of where I make my bed. Think about it, folks, I myself still think it can be a tad scary. Think about it, men, when we have been on picnics and we stood behind that tree, He was watching! Did I really say that? Regardless of what you are doing He is watching, and regardless of what you are thinking He is hearing your thoughts.

After really looking at these scriptures and bringing them to light about how He knows us, and that we cannot hide from Him, I am thinking even we who are born again, might need to "dress up our act". Or make sure that it is not an act that we are saying we are "born again".

Again I ask you as I say, He knows you and knows me but do you know Him? DO YOU REALLY KNOW HIM TODAY? THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT HE KNOWS YOU, BUT DO YOU REALLY, REALLY KNOW HIM?

Dear Father in Heaven, You who know all of my moves even before I know them myself, You who know the number of hairs on my head, You who know me before I was in the Womb, I want to thank You for watching over me all these years and I know I am a sinner, and when I think of some of the things I have thought about, I am so ashamed, so ashamed, forgive me, Lord, for not just what I do, but what I think and maybe not even do, help me control my thinking, give me kind thoughts all the time and wash away anything bad, I love You, Lord and want to do a better job of showing it. Help me with it, and Lord, hold me up today as I don't want to fall and fail You. Forgive me of my sins as I work hard to repent of them. In Jesus name, in Jesus name, I want to be born again and again. I love You, Lord... In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, knowing that God knows and loves you and sharing your blessings and God with others. Let others who might be lost know that God does know them... I love ya. Pastor Dan.

Tuesday 6/28/11 He Knows Us!

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and just a few more days till the picnic and I get to meet a lot of you. Remember, Saturday, July 2nd, Willow Mill Park, just off of route 114 in Silver Spring Twp. Need directions, use your direction finder and use our home address, 16 DeWalt Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17050. Before turning left onto Dewalt, turn right into the park. Get lost, call my pocket phone... 717 991 0754. You might want to bring your lawn chair. Come hungry and come prepared to hear some really good music.

What a great day yesterday, found out that Julie Campbell got engaged this past weekend. Julie is the daughter of Rob and Martha Campbell. Gosh, I remember Julie as a little girl, and always very, very nice. Please pray for this young couple. I need to get the young man's name.

Please pray for Barb, now on life support and bleeding in the stomach. Pray also for Vicki, she has a full plate of health issues. Pray for Pastor Tony and Ruby and also Pastor Charles and Katherine and Pastor Rick and Barbara. Also pray for Pastor Larry and Luella, in fact, please pray for pastors today. Pastors need our prayers and support.

He Knows Us (Day 1) Psalm 139:1 - O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down, you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. (NIV)

Well, that scripture should scare us a tad. I want you to think about it, but first look at this scripture.

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you a prophet to the nations." (NIV)

Our Lord God knew us before we were in the womb! Before we were a twinkle in our dad and mamma's eyes, we were known by God. And if you think this scripture is just for Jeremiah you are wrong. God knew us. Think of this, I say THINK OF THIS. God knew all of those babies that have been murdered by some killer who calls himself or herself a doctor. God knew us before we were in the womb and He also knows all of those babies. Think of it, He had already set them apart. Maybe a president or two, or a preacher or priest or maybe a rabbi. Maybe a top shelf doctor, or another prophet. Think of all those taxpayers who have just been deleted. It is not right, people get things on the computer they do not want, they hit the delete key. They find a baby in the womb and hit the off key.

Let's go back to that lead-in scripture that God gave me today. God states, He searched me and He knows me. He looked us up and down, inside and out and He knows each of us... Does that make you a tad nervous? If it doesn't, it should. Let me move on. He knows us when we sit and when we rise... Let's look at that verse a tad and let me put it like this. He knows us when we sit on the edge of the bed getting up, and the day is beautiful and we say, "Wow", it would be a great day for a round of golf, so we pick up the phone and call the boss and in a weak voice we say, hey boss, please mark me off sick... What's wrong today, young man, your boss might say, and you think one up real fast... Sir, I have golfitis, and off you go for a round of golf. Maybe you fooled your boss but you made a fool out of yourself before God. God knows our thinking, all of our thinking.

Are you a tad nervous about this yet? If not, you should be. God knows our thinking before we think it.

Look at this. Psalm 139, verse 2, the second part. You perceive my thoughts from afar. Folks, you might have gotten away with some of your thinking about your boss, but God knew and knows what you are thinking... Now people are putting things down on the computer, and wait a minute, it does not say in the Bible that God reads computer notes, but your boss does, and before you write something on the computer, don't you need to think about it? And God knows that thinking. Sometimes I think people don't think before they hit the old send key. This, folks, is one reason we do not need to ramble on and on when we pray for God already knows our heart. Yes, God wants us to pray and pray and pray. But before we pray, God knows our heart. And think about this, my brothers and sisters, and I must ask this. How many of you prayed to be forgiven from a sin before you committed the sin? Lord, I know this is so wrong, please forgive me and then you did the sin.

So this scripture tells us that God knows us, so my question for you this fine day is just this.
DO YOU KNOW HIM?

Dear Father in Heaven, You know us, You know our hearts, You know when we go to the altar and confess over to You, if it is real or just put on. Lord, it is time we learn You more and more. By that I mean that we fall deeper and deeper in Love with You. Help us with that, and Lord, please look over our prayer lists and honor them according to Your will. In the name of the one who knows my heart, my dear Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, my brothers and sisters, and share from your heart the blessings that God has given and will give to you. Yes, walk out on a limb for Jesus and share your blessings even before you receive them. Jesus knows and loves you, can you say the same for Him... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday 6/27/11 Praises Only Today

Praise The Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary, praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power, praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre . Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute. Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Good Monday Morning, thankful to be on the green side of the grass day to all of you. This is the day we pray for our leaders, our President and all who rule over us in governments. It is also the day we use to pray for our troops, our police and firefighters and all others who work to keep us safe and healthy... Today we are going to try and do it a tad different. Read on please.

This morning like all mornings at the Claus home at the Southern location of the North pole, Mrs. Claus and old Santa sat on the edge of the bed to pray. Only this morning before I had a chance to ask for anything like saying thanks for watching over our family, would you please do it again today, and please help us with this and with that, and you know how it goes... We, when we talk to God just keep asking and asking... Go to any prayer chain and see how many requests are listed and how many praise reports. TODAY, just for this one day on this line we are not going to ask for anything, we are just going to praise the Lord. Oh, yes, I have some prayer requests and God knows them, and He is working on them, as He is still working on me. This morning, however, it was like God just spoke to my heart and said to me... How about thanking me once in a while and not asking for anything? So let's move forward with this day, and brothers and sisters, send me some praise reports, and remember when you send them, please no asking for anything today. (Unless you have no food to feed your children.) Are you ready for this...

PRAISE ONLY TODAY: Psalm 150:1 - Praise The Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary, praise Him in His mighty heavens. 2 Praise Him for His acts of power, praise Him for His surpassing greatness. 3 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre . 4 Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute. 5 Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. (NIV)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above yea heavenly hosts, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Psalm 100:1 - Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord He is God: It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations. (KJV)

I want to thank God this morning for this line and for all who follow it each day. I want to thank God and give Him the praise, honor and glory for all of the things I write. I want to thank Him for you and all you do for this line and Carry The Light Ministries. I want to thank God for permitting us to pastor The Bridges, I want to Thank God for the talents on loan from Him that I can do this and Dolores can play the piano. I want to give thanks and praise for our ministry partner, Pamela Bower, and for Him supplying her with voice and wisdom and the love of the Lord to travel all these years singing for Him. I want to thank God for people like Tim Beitzel, Doug Boyer, Neil Enloe, Duane Nicholson, Larry Hale, and Kevin Brown whom when I need earthly advice I can call on. I just want to sing and shout this day for that is what we are to do... and yes...

"This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made, let us rejoice, let us rejoice and be glad in it and be glad in it. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it, this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made."

"This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made, let us rejoice, let us rejoice and be glad in it and be glad in it. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it, this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made."

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

Thank You, Father, for Your Son Jesus, and thank You, Jesus, for dying for us, all of us. And thanks again for this day, for

"This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made, let us rejoice, let us rejoice and be glad in it and be glad in it. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it, this is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made."

John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (KJV)

You are the way, dear Jesus, and we give thanks for leading us the way, and we give You all honor and glory for telling us the truth always, and we praise You for You are The Life. And we want to sing it again...

Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above yea heavenly hosts, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Thank You Father for all things, in Jesus' name I sing and shout... Amen.

Now go forth and share all those blessings Jesus has given You, and please give thanks and ask for nothing in return, and God will take care of You, He really will because you are His child and He loves you, and you know what. I love ya also... Pastor Dan

Ok, get it on your lips for the day and let it rip...

PRAISE THE LORD... AMEN

Friday 6/24/11 Onward Christian Soldiers 5

Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Wow, lots of rain here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Picnic update. Please remember our Picnic at Willow Mill Park, July 2nd. Music starts at 11.00 AM and we eat at noon, and then more music. Remember we are having Reverend Timothy Beitzel coming to sing for us... And this update... Do you remember "Baby Allie" who we have prayed for over the years? She will be at the picnic with her mother and father and sisters. Please come and see this beautiful, beautiful child. What a day this will be, rain or shine. Please bring a lawn chair. Menu, hot dogs, BBQ, meatball sandwiches, turkey corn soup, salads, lots of desserts, and stuff to drink (no alcohol). Also, McDuff Wotring will be coming for your enjoyment. Disc Golf, fishing (need a Pa license).

Ok, back to prayers, and today we pray for all of those working for the Lord! And brothers and sisters, we all need to be working for the Lord. ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS...

Onward Christian Soldiers 5: 1 Samuel 8:20 - Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles. (NIV)

All this week I have been writing about how we Christians have come under attack. In our lead scripture today we see that we will be like nations, all the other nations, and yes, I believe that "we" Christians are a nation of peoples, living throughout the world. The scripture tells us that all those other nations have a king or leader to take us into battle. The difference as I see it, is they have a king to lead them, and we have THE KING, KING JESUS, TO LEAD US. With that I need to do this.

PRAISE YOU, JESUS.

I was blessed growing up having a wonderful Christian mother and father, true believers, and my mamma was very strict. She raised me to "turn the other cheek" if someone would attack me. I was also blessed to have an older and stronger, much bigger brother who, after we turned the other cheek would protect me. (He beat me up many times, but he would protect me from others.)

So, folks, it is fair for me to say that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is also to me a "big brother".

As we look at the wars that America is involved in today, we see we always have leaders. Over the years some leaders were better than others. Not being a historian I can only tell you this, our leader, and I am talking our Lord Jesus here, is The Best leader we will have. And He will not change, He will lead us for good over evil.

Psalm 24:8 - Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle. (NIV)

As you start this day, as we start this day together, we need to call on our leader, our Lord Jesus who is "Mighty in Battle" to lead us. Surely before this day is in, before darkness falls upon us, someone will come to attack us and I am not talking about someone who will put a gun to our heads, although that could happen. I am talking about someone attacking us for following Jesus, or someone attacking us with "road rage" and we need to call upon our Lord before the attacks happen.

If we get something from the store that needs put together what do most people do first? They get out the instructions and read them and then work on what they got. However, there are some of us, and I am one of them, who tries to do the task without looking at the instructions and when things do not go well, I will look at the directions, and then still if things are not going well, I will call upon the Lord for help.

Folks we have a big day ahead of us, and yes, we have instructions, written instructions on how to handle the day. In case I lost you on that one, I am talking about your Bible. So we take time to read it some and then we go out and go to work, but wait, we read some in the Bible, but we forgot to check in with the boss, or our leader, our Lord Jesus. So today, and over the weekend I am sure we will have some battles, and this morning we have talked a tad about them and we read some scripture about them, and now together it is time to call on our leader, our Lord Jesus to lead us, to protect us, and to help us move forward for Good in His work and also in all we do to help others and ourselves. Ready, let's call on our Leader.

Dear Father in Heaven, Dear Leader in our Christian Battles, we call on You today to help us. You have told us to take the Good News to the world and to help the poor and needy. To do this we need some leaders here on earth, but most of all we need You, dear Father, to lead us. Your word tells us that You will go ahead of us in battle. While in some armies the generals stay behind, but not You, Lord, for You are our leader. What we need to do is learn to let You lead us, help us with that. Help us to always rely on our instruction book, and our talking with You. In the name of Jesus, help us, dear Lord, lead us, open doors for us, and protect us as we take Your word into the world. Lead us into battle, Lord, in the name of Jesus... I pray in the mighty name of our leader, Jesus. Amen.

Onward Christian Soldiers, going on before, sharing our blessings like never before. Christ the Royal Master leads us through each day, ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS, working for Jesus starting right now... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thursday 6/23/11 Onward Christian Soldiers 3

"O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause."

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes, I wrote a message yesterday morning but I found it this morning in the out box so I logged out and signed in again and it went. Today, the day we pray for families and schools, and please keep praying for Mayor Linda Thompson and the City of Harrisburg. Please add Pastor Tony and Ruby to your prayer list. Please keep praying for Dolores. We were at the doctors yesterday and they talked about surgery on her neck. When they started to talk about plates and screws she looked at me, and shook her head no. So we move on trusting God. I have screws and rods in my back and they never helped, and once the screws broke and they had to be replaced, in fact one broken screw still is embedded in my spine (ouch).

Onward Christian Soldiers 4: Psalm 109:1 - "O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, 2 for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. 3 With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause." 4 In return for my friendship they accused me, but I am a man of prayer. (NIV)

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me." When I was but a child, and people would be rude and call me names my mother taught me to just say those words. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me." But brothers and sisters, words and name calling does hurt, and it hurts bad. Yes, sticks and stones hurt as I have been hit by sticks and also been stoned in my day. (Stoned meaning other people threw stones at me. I want to be very clear on that one.) And I think when people use the Lord's name cursing it also hurts Him. And still He forgives, and we must do the same. I would say that most all of us at some time or another have come under a verbal attack, and moreso at some time or another we might have attacked others.

Do you know that once you put things out over your lips you cannot take them back in, and I am talking words, words you use against others, or say in the heat of a moment and might not mean them at all?

As Christians we are always open to verbal attacks, and no better place to see it right now is with Sarah Palin and they even go after her children. Governor Palin loves the Lord and she is being attacked. If you love the Lord and you do as the Lord wants you to do, meaning taking the good news of our Lord on the road and telling others, surely you will come under attack. I have mentioned it before and I will do it again, people will want to cast up your past to you. If you love the Lord, and have asked Him in faith to forgive your past, it is done. While others might bring it up, you need to tell them that was my past life and it is gone. And then you can tell them Jesus will forgive them also and they can get a clean start. But still those attacks hurt and I know I have called out to God and asked Him to forgive me and help to stop the attacks.

As we see in the scripture of today, David would call out with Praises to God, and here we find him asking God to protect him... "Do not remain silent, Lord" How often have we prayed and prayed to think God was just not hearing us? We see in the scripture of today that David said he was a man of prayer. Keep praying, my dear brothers and sisters, and keep praising God. God does hear our prayers and works them according to His will and not ours and that is always the best for us, although we might not understand it now.

Please, brothers and sisters, keep praying, keep your faith, and be sure you are living for Jesus and that others can see that in you. In the Bible we get glimpses of what it will be like in Heaven. A mansion with many rooms, streets of gold, and folks, no more pain, no more suffering, and folks, a new body, a brand new body. I know mine is worn from wear and tear and yes, me not always taking care of it. And the best is we get to see our beloved Jesus face to face. We see our friends from the past, and yes, for those who have had beloved pets, there will be pets in Heaven. And when we all get to heaven, no one will attack us again. So stand tall, my brothers and sisters, keep your faith in the Lord, and when others attack you, buck it up and move on, do not attack them back, just pray for them and tell them you are talking to Jesus about them and wish them well. If they need anything, like food and clothes, help them get it. If they curse you, say praise the Lord. My mamma would tell me to "treat people with kindness regardless of how they treated me."

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross. Lift high His royal banner; It must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory, His army shall He lead, Till every foe is vanquished and Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Stand in His strength alone. The arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own. Put on the gospel armor and watching unto prayer, Where duty calls or danger, Be never wanting there...
Stand up for Jesus, my dear brothers and sisters, and know this... Jesus never ever "flip flops".
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (NIV)

STAND UP FOR JESUS

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to stand up for You, and we are going to try hard to do that. Help us, O Lord, do not remain silent, let us hear from You. We have faith that You will carry us till the day You come for us. Protect us from attacks and when they come, prepare us to be able to withstand them and get stronger by them... Please, Lord, address our prayer requests according to Your will and not ours. In the name of Jesus, the one who died for me. Amen.

Now go forth, raise high the cross of Jesus and share the blessings He has given you. Please remember the picnic on July 2nd... love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wednesday 6/22/11 Onward Christian Soldiers 2

"Prepare your shields both large and small, and march out for battle!"

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, the day we pray for those who are lost and work HARD to get them to the feet of Jesus to be saved. Other prayer requests today for Vicki, Vicki has a full plate, and really needs the help of God. Please keep praying for Beverly and others who have drinking problems. Prayers for an Aunt Joan and her family, Joan is now in hospice care. And please keep praying for Mayor Linda Thompson, as she fasts and prays for the City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. When a Mayor of a town lays her job on the line for Jesus SHE NEEDS OUR SUPPORT. I was born and raised in Harrisburg, coming out of John Harris High School back in 1959.

Back in those days you did not need to lock the door, and if you did, the key could be found in the milk box. For you younger folks, a milk box was something that was on the porch so that when the milk man came he would either put your milk in it, or use the key to come into your house and put the milk in your fridge. Ok, so much for that trip down memory lane. Let me get back to the days of paved streets and start my brain up for God...

Onward Christian Soldiers 2: Jeremiah 46:3 - "Prepare your shields both large and small, and march out for battle! 4 Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armor! 5 What do I see? They are terrified, they are retreating, their warriors are defeated. They flee in haste without looking back, and there is terror on every side." declares the Lord. (NIV = New International Version of the Bible)

Some people may laugh when I talk about getting ready to fight for our Lord Jesus and talk about the full armor of God and next week I will try and remember and go over each of the pieces of armor. We should be sitting on the side of the bed each morning and as we pray, go through the motions in our minds and hearts about putting on the armor of God. Surely in the course of each day you will run across at least one person who will put an attack out against our Lord, and you will have the protection you need and the words in your mind and heart to fight back. Folks, I am not talking about packing out two six guns as in the days of the wild west and mounting up on Trigger like Roy Rogers and shooting it out for God each day, but I am talking about having some protection and some weapons to fight this good fight... And again I do want to mention that we will win.

Today I want you to maybe think of something like this. Instead of those six guns of the old wild west, you get some ready material, tracts, not big ones, and please don't lay them on the back of the toilet in the restrooms of places. I mean who wants to pick up something off of a toilet and take it along? If you use the rest room at a place, ask the manager if you may let some of your information about Jesus on the counter, but better yet, just hand out a few as you walk in and out.

Or talk to people and tell them about Jesus. Anyway, load those holsters with some good things, and be sure to keep your Bible with you. In fact, maybe even carry an extra one in your car in case you come upon someone who does not have a Bible. This past year we were blessed to have Bibles to hand out to people coming in for food. After the first supply was about all gone, one of our supporters brought in a big box of brand new Bibles that he purchased at Ollie's and all the first timers at our food bank get a Bible. And you people who shop at Ollie's, if you see some, pick some up for us. Ollie's tells us it is good stuff cheap, and let me tell you when you can purchase new Bibles there it does really mean "Good Stuff" because our Bibles are loaded with "Good Stuff".

Ok, back to arming and getting ready for the fight. Each day we will get attacked in some way, and each day we will, and you must look for it, get a chance to fight back. But you must be armed and ready for the fight. I find that I am in the food store a lot, our local Giant store. Years ago, I don't remember how many, our ministry partner, Pamela, was shopping in that same store and like so many ladies had her purse laying on the child seat of the cart, laying open... Someone went by and in a flash her wallet was lifted and she found out when she went to pay. Now we know the mess of losing all of our cards, drivers licenses and all that we keep in a wallet, including our dollars if we carry any. But wait, I have used her misfortune to witness to folks. I walk the store slow, as I struggle to walk and as I pass those ladies with the open purses laying on the cart, I stop and say, "I could have just slipped your wallet out of your purse and walked away with it." Without telling Pamela's name, I tell them "my singing partner had her wallet lifted in this store." I make suggestions like keeping the purse zipped and over their shoulder or zipped and tied into the cart with the baby seat belt, or even bringing in just their money and/or cards in their pocket and leaving the purse locked in the trunk of their car. They always say thanks, never has anyone turned away for hearing that. Then I hand them our card that has our information on it and about the food bank.

This has also led to praying for people. I shake hands with workers at the food store, I thank them and wish them well and I have prayed for them right on the spot, and even the manager, the top manager who had some health problems... I have prayed with him more than once... And folks, if someone asks you to pray for them, do it on the spot. I know some who have trouble praying like that, but just grab their hand and do it... YOU CAN DO IT. You do not need to pray a sermon, just pray for their needs and thank God and always, always put your prayers to heaven in the name of Jesus. I am sure that more than one person thought I was "nuts" and I am, I am a "nut for Jesus".

Bottom line, my dear, dear brothers and sisters, we need to be ready to fight back, HOWEVER, I don't see a thing wrong with our side, starting the fight, so to speak. People are hurting, you can see it on their faces, you can hear them in line at the store. People are out of work, or in some cases working two or three jobs to pay the bills. (Folks, back in the 50's and 60's it was common to work part time jobs, just to pay the bills.) Anyway, don't be afraid to speak out for Jesus, and please learn in the food store to say excuse me when you walk in front of someone looking up at a shelf, say sorry if you almost hit them with your cart, even if it was their fault. Let them see Jesus in you. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FOR HIM. Folks, and if you know someone who needs help with food, don't just pray for them, put feet on your prayers and share your blessings with them, and call us, yes CALL US for we stand ready to help them. When we work for God it is not an I thing it is a we thing, it is a team and God heads up the team. Think of the coaching staff we have... God The Father, Jesus His Son, and The Holy Ghost. Put your mind to work when you leave the house, stop before you start your vehicle and say a prayer... Lord, keep us safe, and Lord, open a door for us to witness for You before we get home. And folks, please, putting a bumper sticker on for Jesus is really nice, unless you pop "someone the bird" while driving down the road. I drifted a lot today but God is just keeping me going, and what He is really saying is "You work for Me, and I will help you get it done."

Dear Father in Heaven, I really went long today, please Lord, help us all, teach us where to find those who are not saved and give us the courage to talk to them about You. Open doors that we might bring people to Your feet. Lord, You are such a blessing to all of us, even those who do not believe in You, let us learn to share those blessings... please, Lord, address our prayer requests according to Your will for us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and remember about the picnic, July 2nd at Willow Mill Park, off of route 114 in Silver Spring Township Mechanicsburg Pa. Using Map Quest or one of those other map things. Just use our address 16 Dewalt Drive Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050. When those directions tell you to turn left onto Dewalt Drive, look to your right and you will see the park. Do not turn onto Dewalt drive, just hang the next right. Ok, got to run, be blessed and share them, love ya. Pastor Dan.

And here are my phone numbers... Use them if you need me for any reason.

Tuesday 6/21/11 Onward Christian Soldiers

Endure hardships with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Good Tuesday, pray for Mayor Linda Thompson, City of Harrisburg Day. Yes, my dear brothers and sisters, please pray for Mayor Thompson as she starts three days of fasting and praying for Harrisburg, Pa. You can read just a few things about the Mayor in this morning's Patriot News.

Please keep Vicki in your prayers...

Please remember the picnic at Willow Mill Park. Music by Tim Beitzel starts at 11.00 AM. Lunch at noon, and then some more music. Do you want to sing, we are going to open the mike during lunch. Gospel, Oldies, show tunes, your choice. Then after lunch, some more gospel singing and yes, Carry The Light will be doing a few. It is all free, food, drinks, and lots of the deserts, even the toilets are free.

Onward Christian Soldiers: 2 Timothy 2:3 - Endure hardships with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. (NIV)

Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ the royal Master, leads against the foe, forward into battle, see His banners go!

Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before...

Brothers and sisters, we know that as Americans we have been in a lot of wars, and we are in at least three right now. But our Lord tells us in Matthew 24:6, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (NIV)

And yes. my dear brothers and sisters, we do hear of all these wars and we see them happening, but the war that has me concerned most of all is the war against our Lord Jesus and those who follow Him, the real Christians. Christian means Christ-like and the word gets a really bad rap. For instance, when people talk about Muslims blowing up the buildings in New York, Washington and bringing down the plane in Pennsylvania on 9/11/2001, others will come back and say that it was Muslims who have gone bad. Then some will say that it was a Christian who blew up the buildings in Oklahoma, and if I recall the man who did that was Timothy McVey, but I could be wrong on that name. Anyway, people refer to him as a Christian... No, No, No folks a real Christian would not do that, a person with that kind of hate in their hearts is NOT CHRIST-LIKE and is no way a Christian. Those Muslims were Muslims gone bad, for all of them are not like that, but remember folks, people are not a Christian by default.

Yes, there is a war going on against us, us who are true followers of Christ and it even happens in churches. Did you see the news about NBC the other day, they edited out the words Under God when doing a story about some kids leading the pledge to the flag. And they not only did it once but twice. They said it was due to time. Yea, right. It was someone just trying to get we who really love God upset, or someone who wants to get those words out of the pledge.

Back in the days, 25 years of them, but after I found Christ, I put a picture of Jesus holding the lamb in my office at the school district transportation office. And this office was owned and in control of the school district and paid for by the tax payers of the United States of America. No one ever asked me to take it down. Also each morning I would arrive at work at 5.00 AM and several drivers would come in early, different ones on different days, and we would pray in my office. Also at least once a week we filled the office and held hands and prayed. I even posted on the time clock about those prayer sessions, I called them "Caring and Sharing". Only once the buildings and grounds men who were at the back of one of my drivers' meetings when I opened in prayer complained. When they did, they were asked by their boss what they were doing at the Transportation Building when they were to be mowing grass at one of the schools. But there were times when people would throw my past at me, and MY PAST WAS TAKEN AWAY WHEN I CAME TO CHRIST.

Brothers and sisters, one of the parts of the war we Christians fight each day of our life is when others who do not know Jesus will try and trash you because of something you might have done before you came to Jesus. Don't lose that battle, my friends, hold high the cross of Jesus and tell them those sins have been taken away. Each day of our lives we should be going into battle for our Lord Jesus, and trust me when I say, most of the battles are fun, really fun. We who really love the Lord are many in numbers; however. so many when faced with a battle, will not come forth. "Stand up, Stand up" for Jesus, brothers and sisters, and go forward for Him. If you hear others downing Christ, stand up for Him... If you hear someone use His name as a curse word, tell them about it. Oh, and when someone tells the boss you were talking about Jesus at the coffee break, tell the boss, "they started it". Stand up for Jesus, Stand up for Jesus, for nothing they could ever do to you would be like they did to Jesus who covered our sins. ARE YOU READY TO FIGHT FOR JESUS? Please come back tomorrow when we talk about more battles and bring some battles forth out of the Bible.

And never forget this... With Jesus, in the end, WE WIN!!! And the rest will lose...

Dear Father in Heaven, we are tired of hearing Your name as curse words, while some in our governments say, we cannot say the name Jesus or call on You in public. Lord, I for one am tired of hearing those curse words, and Lord, I pray that when I hear them on the TV, you give me the power just to reach up and change the channel, and Lord, it is time we stand with people like Mayor Linda Thompson and say, why not a person of faith praying in their office. Lord, protect the Mayor and help all others on our prayer lists from the past weeks. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth my dear soldiers of the cross, lift high the cross as you share your blessings with others... and know that I love ya. Pastor Dan.

And now put this tune on your lips and heart today...

Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ the royal Master leads against the foe, forward into battle, see His banners go!
Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before.

Monday 6/20/11 Names Wrap Up!

They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome, then because He is Lord of lords, and King of kings and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers.

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yesterday I had the honor to re-marry Michael and Nancy Tuckey, on their anniversary of 40 years of marriage. Please pray for this couple to have 40 or more years of marriage. Please pray also for Karen Baughman, Harrisburg Hospital, many serious problems and lots of pain. Please pray for Barb Davis, in ICU in a hospital, this request coming out of Ohio. And yes, it is Monday, and the day we pray for our President and all of our leaders in Washington and our Governors and all the leaders in our State Houses, and for all of our local leaders. It is also the day we pray for our veterans, our current military, our police and firefighters, and please when praying for firefighters pray for God to send rain, and more rain upon those wild fires and to protect those firefighters who must be very, very tired by now. Pray also for your doctors and all who work through the hands of Doctor Jesus to keep you well and safe.

Names: Wrap up! Revelation 17:14 - They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome, then because He is Lord of lords, and King of kings and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. (NIV)

Please note the name of God. King of kings, Lord of lords and also The Lamb, and please note that war will be made against our Lord God and He will overcome it, and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. In my humble opinion this will not include those who are "part time" followers or "once in a while" followers. It will be the washed in His Blood, Born Again, full time followers who work for Him. Being saved goes a lot deeper than going to the altar of your church one time in the heat of passion, you must follow up on that. That is why you need a good support network like a really good church, really good pastors and other Christians who really know what it is to be a Christian, it means "Christ Like". Someone might say amen to that, or take me apart. Yes, one can be converted at bedside and I truly believe in that, but if you say you are saved, then you need to get to work to prove it. Now let me wrap it out like this. I did this a few years ago, but this is a rewrite as I lost my originals. Ready.

He is a Star and a Sceptre, He is The Rock of My Salvation, He is The King of Glory and I love Him, and He died for me!
He is Wisdom, Excellent, Understanding and Jehovah, and also Jehovah of Hosts, and I love Him today and will tomorrow.
He is my Sanctuary and yours also, He is wonderful, Counsellor and the Mighty God, and I love Him today and ask, do you love Him also?
He is The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, The Root of Jesse, and Strength to the Poor and Needy, and He loves you and me. And did I say He died for us? He did!
He is A Sure Foundation, my Foundation and our Lawgiver, He is The Redeemer, The Ancient of Days, and I love Him and He loves me and He died for me and for you!
He is The Branch, The True Vine, The Messenger, The Messenger of the Covenant, and did I say today that He loves us, He loves you and me and He died for all of us.
He is The Son of Abraham, Emmanuel, A Governor, A Nazarene, and a Friend of Sinners, Praise God for that one for that makes Him a Friend of mine, for I am a sinner saved by Grace...
He is Grace, He is Peace, He is our Hope, He is The Master, and He is The Bridegroom, and did I tell you that He was Hung on a Tree for you and me?
He is The Holy One of God, Son of God, Son of Man, He is A Ransom, for it was with His Blood He paid for our sins, and did I say He died for you and for me, and I love Him, how about you?
He is The Word, The Lamb of God, He is a Rabbi, He is A Teacher, A Preacher, and a Forgiver, and did I tell you that I love Him very much!
He is The Only Begotten Son, The Messiah and The Christ, and He came to save the world from Sin, and did I say that means you and me. Did I mention, He died for us?
He is indeed The Savior of The World, The Living Bread, The Light of the World, He is The Lamp unto my feet, and He is that so I can see in the dark. Did I really tell you that I love Him?
He is The Great I Am, The Good Shepherd, He is A Grain of Wheat, The Resurrection, and He is The Man, The Man, The Man and did I tell you He died on the cross for you and for me?
He is Lord, The Deliverer, The Creator of All Things, yes, He made it all including you and me, and for that reason we need to love Him. But He did more, did I say, He died for you and me?
He is The Lord of Peace, The Prince of Peace, The Righteous Judge, He is the Heir of all Things and have I told you that He died for you and me and that I love Him?
He is The High Priest, He is The Author of Our Faith He is My Helper and wants to be yours, and Yes, I love Him and pray you do also.
He is The Advocate, our Lawyer, The Faithful Witness, He is The Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The End, and yes, He did die on The Cross, The Old Rugged Cross for you and for me.
He is King of kings, Lord of lords and I love Him so very, very much and pray You do also.

Brothers and sisters, He is The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost, The Creator, The Savior and The Comforter, and did I say He did all He did, for you and for me?
He is JESUS, Born to a virgin mother named Mary, in a simple birthplace, a Barn, His mode of Travel were His feet and sometimes a donkey, He walked this earth to set examples for us and showed us all we really need to know about being good. He showed us how to live, He taught us how to pray, and how to love, He took a beating for us, then died on the Cross for us... He was buried taking our sins to the grave with Him, He was risen from the dead so that we also may be risen, He walked again on this earth again and then made us this promise... I AM COMING BACK...

Be ready, my dear brothers and sisters, for He indeed is coming back, and did I say why He did all of this? He did it all for you and for me... and did I say, I love Him and did I ask you this...
Do You love Him today? Are you ready if He returns today?

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive me of my sins and put my name in the Lamb's Book Of Life, and help me repent of my sins and walk in the Light of Jesus, always from this day forth...
In the Name of Jesus... Amen.

Friday 6/17/11 What's in a Name? 9

"She will give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins."

Good Morning, or afternoon, depends on when you receive this. I have been fighting all morning to get my computer email back up online after using a program which I purchased to clean my files of junk. Right now even as I type I am using a different layout than what I am used to.
Hey, with that said, I shall go forth working with this till someone with brains stops by and shows me how to get the old program back...

It is Friday and the day we pray for all of those who work for Jesus in the fields of Harvest.
Please pray for Tom Sansoni and his family, as his dear wife went home to be with Jesus. Born again and ready to go for a long, long time, Kathleen fought the good fight, and now is at home with her loving Jesus. I was honored years ago to marry Tom and Kathleen in an outdoor service in a small park in Camp Hill.

What's in a Name? 9: Matthew 1:21 - "She will give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." (NIV)

What is in the name? My dear brother in Christ who I respectfully call "Big" John has told me his name, "John", means Jehovah has been Gracious. By the way, Jehovah is another name for God.

Isaiah 6:3 - "And one cried to another, and said, Holy, Holy, Holy, is Jehovah of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His Glory. (RV)

Brothers and sisters, Jehovah, of the first testament, is as Jesus of the second testament.

I want to look at two more scriptures today, of course, the one being my lead-in scripture from Matthew. A good time to talk about the birth of Jesus and a little bit about Joseph, the earthly father of our Lord Jesus. Why today? Well, Fathers' Day is on Sunday and we do know there were many good fathers talked about in the Bible. One of the things I like best about Joseph is that he had faith in God and took the word of the Lord's messenger angel about his soon-to-be wife being with child, and never having sex. After the birth of Jesus, we do not hear a lot about Joseph, we do know he was a carpenter and more than likely in the younger days of our Lord Jesus, He and Joseph must have spent a lot of time together in the workshop more than likely making cars, trucks, motorcycles, and buses out of wood. Hey, I know those things were not invented yet, but God always knows what is in the future. Ok, I am stretching that out a tad, but I will tell you this, Jesus did not need a Fathers' day to appreciate His earthly father. Jesus the name for God that we know and use the most and it is through Jesus and only Jesus we will be saved. For those who might not think that Jesus is God, please get our your Bible and read John 1: 1/14.

Now let's go to one last name for today, and what better name for today than "Father"?

Isaiah 9:6 - "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given and ---- His name shall be called "The Everlasting Father".

Matthew 6:9 - "This, then is how you should pray: Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name."

Since it is Fathers Day this Sunday, I think it is a great way to close this message and also the series on what's in a name by using the name Father:

Over the years there have been so many families that have been left to a mother to raise, and today there are some left to the fathers. WHP morning man. R. J. Harris. said the other day on his program that the ideal family has a mother and a father, and they were debating if one was missing which way would the kids be better raise, with the mother or the father? I called in to the station and got to talk to R. J. whom I know well and said "the ideal family needs two fathers and one mother. He said Pastor, what are you talking about, and I said, they need "God The Father, the earthly father and mother" and he agreed right on the spot. Time ran out on the program and he did not put it on the air, and I did not listen today. Folks, there is no reason any family should not be headed up by God The Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and folks, those of you who know me from way, way back, know I messed up big time on this one. However, I have been forgiven by God, by the ex and by our children... and now, just so you know, God is in the house, and has been for a long, long time... Single mothers, you can always call on God The Father, and single fathers, you can also. In fact, right now He is waiting for those calls and it is the day we are to go to work in the fields of harvest anyway... Let's pray.

Dear Father In Heaven, Thanks for the messages, please be with Tom Sansoni and with all others of the family of Kathleen Sansoni. Lord, be with others on our prayer line and also all those going to the fields for Jesus. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Remember to remember your earthly father and also remember your Heavenly Father by sharing the blessings He gave you... Love ya, be blessed. Pastor Dan.

Thursday 6/16/11 What's in a Name? 8

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, I am late, but it is still morning and once again we were being blessed, as we got a late call last night to pick up at the Giant this morning. I need to unload it yet, but boxes of pies and cakes and bread. Also have cooking this morning a very large piece of pork laying in kraut, and it will cook and cook. Some be pulled to serve to others, the rest will be frozen till the day of our picnic, yes, some pork and kraut sandwiches.

Thursday and the day we pray for families and also our schools, and even though out for the summer, we need to really pray for our schools. Also, brothers and sisters, I have received a request to pray for a young family whose father/husband is serving our country in Iraq. Please this time pray for one of our military who have left families to serve our nation, pray for the one serving and remember it is not always the father who is away on duty, but sometimes the mother, or both. As you can see, families need prayer and our military families need to be remembered.

What's in a Name 8: Mark 10:45 - "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (NIV)

While there is more than one name in this passage, and I do believe we talked about "The Son and The Son of Man" as names for our God... Now let me point out another name, for His name shall be called Ransom.

We have seen it in the movies and on TV and also in real life. People have been kidnapped, most often children of the rich, sometimes even pets of the rich. Then they hold the person for ransom, most often in the form of money. But God the Father knew that we, we His children were being held by sin, our sins, and while I could put the full blame on Satan, I will not do it, for once we know of sin, we have a choice of either repenting or sinning we all at one time or another sinned. Satan, while he is the master of evil, will not get me, or others who have come to Christ, and the reason. JESUS PAID "RANSOM" FOR OUR SINS IN THE FORM OF HIS BLOOD AND HIS LIFE. To this day Ransom is being paid by our Lord Jesus and I know for a fact that Jesus has paid Ransom for me, MORE THAN ONCE. How many times has He paid Ransom for you?
Let's do one more name today. Oh, did you know that the name Curtis, means courteous? What does your name mean? Ok, one more for the Lord.

John 10:11 - "I am the good shepherd! The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep!"

We have talked about the shepherds before, about how they would stand watch over their flocks and keep the sheep from being eaten by the wolves and other animals that like to snack on those helpless sheep. The good shepherd would go after those attacking his flock and would often be hurt or even killed by those attack animals. So another name for our Lord is The Good Shepherd, for He was willing and indeed did lay down His life for His flock, meaning US. Today we pastors take on a flock, we have been granted a flock to take care of for our Lord, and trust me when I say this, once we take on the flock we need to be willing to lay down our lives for the flock if needed. By laying down our lives, I mean telling the Truth and the whole truth from the Bible for we need to remember we will be judged for how we deal with our flock.

Dear Father, please Father, pay the ransom for our sins this day as we want to come clean from our sins and work for You. Today, Lord, we place Pastor Charles in Your hands for Your will to be done, We also ask that You look at our prayers and honor them according to Your will. Also please Lord, Kathleen is in Your arms, waiting on You. Your will be done, and we ask You be with Tom in his walk with You and Kathleen... In Jesus' name, I ask You watch over families and also be in our schools... In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings and living to serve our Lord... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wednesday 6/15/11 What's in a Name 7

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage and the door was shut. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour where in the Son of man cometh.

Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. Rise and shine and head to the fields of harvest to help bring in the lost. You say, hey Pastor Dan, I am heading to work, I can't head to the fields of harvest for the Lord right now! And I tell you this, the fields of harvest are all around us, you and me, they are at the workplace, at schools, at car shows, at the bus museum, on your computer facebook, and folks, so many more places and might include in your own home, meaning are all of your family saved? Let me give you just a hint or two of how you might win one for the Lord, say at your work place. While most workplaces you would not be able to stand up and really preach, but what you can do is... First let the light of Jesus shine in you, live the life of Jesus, not just talk it. You can't tell raw jokes at the drinking fountain or in the coffee room and then try and witness for the Lord... It does not work. If you eat in and you pack your lunch, each day pack a little extra, something to share. Or maybe, and it might cost you a few dollars or so, but save your money and then one day you say, hey tomorrow I am buying the pizza and you "share your blessings". Soon people will trust in you and you will be able to talk to them about Jesus. What not to do in my opinion is to "jam" your Bible under a person's nose and yell, see here if you don't do this you are not going to heaven. While the Bible tells us the rules and the truth, you don't win them for the Lord by pushing; however, you do need know where to find the scriptures and have your Bible ready. Maybe get a nice little one or a paperback and keep it at work. You also might want to keep an extra, new Bible in your desk drawer, and give one away once in a while.

Please pray today and till next week for my baby daughter Leann as she rides her Harley to a Bike Meet in New Hampshire, pray for the others on their motorcycles also.

What's in a Name? 7: Matthew 25:10 - And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage and the door was shut. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour where in the Son of man cometh. (KIVA)

I want to give proper credit today, while most all of my work comes from the Bible, I do have A Barbour Book on the names of Jesus. I do check all of the scriptures that are listed in my Bible, either the King James Version and/or the New International Version and never use the writing in the book, God gives me daily what He wants me to write. This book was gifted me back in 1996 by Patty (Mowery) McCullough. Thanks again, Patty.

Ok, looking at the names in these two verses, we find one name for God is The Bridegroom and what a great day for us to look at our Lord Jesus as the Bridegroom, for it is Salvation Wednesday. In the New International Version of the Bible it talks about "The Virgins who were ready". Now let me talk about that a bit. How can we who have had children become a virgin? Well, first of all think of sin, not sex, and since Jesus is the Bridegroom, think of all of us being His bride. When we come to Jesus and we are saved, we are a virgin from sin, ready to be the bride of Jesus, but wait a minute, what if we sin again? Gosh, over the years, how many times have I "lost my virginity" when it come to sin? In sex you can only lose it once, and that is why it was so important for God the Father to find a virgin to bear Jesus. Mary got that call, The Blessed Virgin Mary.

So, sisters, while you will look good I am sure in your wedding gown of white, how will we men look? I can see it now, me with my long flowing white hair and long white beard out over that white dress instead of my Santa suit. Ladies, when you stop laughing, think about the men in your family who are saved and how they will look. While I am making joke about the wedding gowns and having some fun with this today, I am serious about the subject. We must give our sins over to the Lord, then we become free of sin, and we must try hard to be sin-free and it is really hard.

Also in Matthew 25, verse 13, we see another name for God is Son of man. Yes, names for our Lord are both Son of God and Son of man. Let's do one more name today. And I really love this one. Ok, I love them all...

John 1:1 - In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God and The Word was God. (NIV)

Our God is The Word. The Word, another name for our Lord and I love it and here is why I love it so much. First of all when God created the heavens and the earth, how did He create it? He spoke it, it was The Word of God that made it all, except man of course that we came from dirt and the breath of God. Also when I think of The Word, it is to me what is found in the Bible, The Inspired Word of God. But it gets better, folks, it gets better. We go to John 1:14...

John 1:14 - The Word became Flesh and and made His dwelling among us, we have seen His glory.

Yes, The Word became flesh, The Word is the truth, The Word is great...

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks be to You, we do have the truth, for Your word is the truth, and if we follow the truth, we find it will set us free. Meaning to me, Lord, that You will set us free. Please, Lord, be with those bikers, and my baby, Your child, and keep her safe, and Lord, thanks for freeing us from sin, and thanks for trusting us to work the fields of harvest for You, open doors for us, and help us understand that we cannot save a soul, but we sure can work for You bringing the lost to Your feet. Thanks for all the names we find in our Bibles that we can call you, and when we call on You. Thanks for hearing our prayers of today and the days gone by... In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and getting ready to be the Bride of Jesus if you have not made the investment in Him, get cracking, time is passing by and we do not know when He is coming. Love ya... Pastor Dan.

Tuesday 6/14/11 What's in a Name? 6

When Jesus came wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!"

Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters, and today, please welcome Lucius Gabriel, 5 pounds, 2 ounces into the world. Grandmother Linda Miller is beaming as this child arrived 4 weeks early.
Pray for the baby, the parents David and Kelsey, and yes please remember old grandma. (I just had to do that.)

Wow, another Tuesday, my 3,644th Tuesday, and it is the day we pray for a cure for all those things that ail people, we pray for healing from cancer for those like Kathleen and Ronald, however, we pray to God for the cure to be found, so the suffering will stop. And we pray that knees stop wearing out, and the things that cause a spine to twist as we age to be stopped. Yes, our Lord God, The Man, who made us surely can mend us when we get worn or broken. Often working through the hands of others, God is still in the healing business.

Please remember the picnic, July 2nd, Willow Mill Park, Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg Pa.
We eat at noon, however, starting at 11:00 AM we will be hearing the wonderful voice of a great, in my opinion, the greatest baritone singer God has blessed, Timothy Beitzel. I call him my brother, and let me tell you, this is all "FREE" no offering plate, NO MINISTRY MONEY being used, it is our family picnic and you are a big part of our family, so come and hear Tim, and have lunch on Dolores and me. Please do bring a few dollars for Timothy might have some recordings to sell, and you would surely want to take some of his music home.

What's in a Name 6: John 19:5 - When Jesus came wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, "Here is the man!" (NIV)

Jesus is THE MAN!! Don't you just love that name for our God? The Man! You hear it used so often these days, in sayings like he's the man, or here comes the man, or he's my man, or he da man, and yes, I could go on and on. Years ago you might have gotten phone calls with people selling stuff asking to speak to the "man of the house." But Jesus is The one and only "Man". Please note the large M in Man when used for God... and yes, He's The Man, and my main Man, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, please let this Man head up your house and make it a home, for if you are living in a house without "The Man" heading it up, it is indeed NOT a home. Someone say Amen!

Let's look at a few more names, did you know that "Linda" means "Pretty One"?

John 12:24 - "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." (NIV)

Just another name for our Lord God, "A Grain of Wheat", and maybe just a tad harder to understand why this could be used as another name. Have you ever seen a head of wheat in a field, each head has many seeds, or let me use grass, did you ever let your grass grow so long you said "if I don't soon cut it I will need to make hay"? Well, when the grass gets long seeds form on the top and those seeds produce more grass. The seeds that fall to the ground from the wheat produce more wheat. In fact farmers must save some of their wheat seeds from what is used to make bread so it can be planted again. So how does God figure into this, before He could keep us from dying, and remember if we love Jesus we just move on high, but before that seed of life could be shown to us, before we could be saved through His blood, His seed so to speak, He had to die, be buried and be risen from the dead... Yes, our Lord God, A GRAIN OF WHEAT. Hope that clears it a tad for you.

John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (NIV)

So here we can really find a couple of names. God is "The Resurrection, God is The Life." This scripture God gave me this morning really feeds into John 12:24 and maybe, just maybe, I should have put them the other way around, as they would flow better, but this way, and it is the way God pointed them out to me, this way we had to think a tad. Jesus was risen from the dead and walked out of the tomb and my dear brothers and sisters, if we die here on this earth first, according to His word, our soul goes straight to heaven, and our body is returned to the earth (or sea) and when Jesus returns for His bride (that would be the believers), The Word, the Truth, in our Bible tells us the ground will break open and the dead in Christ shall rise, and the seas will also give up the bodies, and those believers in Jesus that are alive will meet with Jesus in the clouds, in the sky. And we all said,
PRAISE THE LORD. Now while I don't know when God "The Resurrection" will come back for us, I will just tell you this. IT COULD BE TODAY! Yes, it could, and if you are not ready, you will miss the "flight". Let us pray God's most mentioned veggie, Let us.

Dear Father in Heaven, You are The Grain of Wheat and The Resurrection and I pray that I can use the term we want to also be like You, we want to spread some seeds to others about You and see if we can change the minds of the non-believer so that they also might believe and be saved by You. Help us learn that like a farmer who spreads seeds we must also work the ground, we cannot just tell a person once but we must follow that up, and Lord, I mention this as we need help with doing that. Please look over our prayer requests and that from Glenvale Church also and honor our prayers please by Your will and not ours. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen

Go forth now sharing your blessings and serving our Lord God. Remember the picnic, on July 2nd, I would love to meet you... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
