Schools Day, schools day, yes brothers and sisters it is Tuesday and that means it is the day we pray for our schools ... and today as we pray we need to be thinking of ways to Prepare The Way for The Lord in our schools ... Saying that the supreme court took Jesus out of our school is indeed NOT TRUE ... Oh they might have stopped Bible reading in our schools, or even organized prayers, but what has stopped Jesus from being in schools falls right back on US ... yes you and me ... that's what us is ... you and me ...
Dear Father in Heaven, it is schools day on this line, and I do pray for each and every one of our schools world wide ... Lord so often we here in America say our schools started to go down hill when You were put out of our schools, and it is very true that in a lot of cases you were put out, but not by the supreme court of the United States or those who brought it to court ... Lord forgive us, Lord forgive each of us who have not fully trained our children in Jesus before we even sent them to school ... Lord all of us need to be working on keeping You at the head of our schools, but we all must work together on it, not just pray about it and let You do it ... Help us to get a hold of this, and Lord help me to tie the message together today between John the Baptist and our kids going to school ... Lord also please be with Oliver and Sharon and also Bob and Faye and Dolores and Vicki as they struggle with health concerns ... We give You thanks and glory in all the healing that has taken place ... I also pray today for safety on the road for Charles and Janet as they ready to head out for some travel ... Keep them safe dear Lord and return them back home refreshed ... In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
The Big Bus Trip: Prepare The Way: And our buses are on the road again today ... today, schools days we are going to pull the Eagle over and let Danelle and Leann pull those big school buses to the front of the line ... Today I want to take a good look at how we can keep Jesus in our schools ...
John, known to us as John The Baptist, was working for our Lord Jesus early on in the life of Jesus. You will recall that John is about six months older then Jesus. Today we are the ones who need to be working for Jesus ... Now I don't know about you, but I get so tired, really tired of hearing excuses that it is the removal of the prayers and Bible readings that caused our schools to go downhill. And then it all gets blamed on the Supreme Court ... Folks, let's put the blame where it belongs, right on us ... First of all and I want you to follow me on this ... If we still had Bible reading daily in our schools, whose Bible would be used? Would it be our beloved Christian Bible? Or one of the many others ... And if we still had prayers led by teachers and others, who would we be praying to? Jesus ... Or would the prayers just be generic, would they be taught to be praying to a god, instead of The God ... and would the prayers be sent to heaven through Jesus, which is the ONLY WAY THEY GET THERE? Or would the prayers be lifted through a generic source ...
Would the prayer end something like this. In the name of green peace and the old oak tree I pray... Or In the name of recycled cans and bottles I pray... or in the name of the new electric car I pray ... Folks, don't tell me this would not be happening ... So what do we do about it?
First and foremost we need to teach our children about Jesus before they even head out to school, and we need to teach it ahead of counting, and spelling and reading ... The first thing we teach a child to say is daddy or mommy, and after that we should be teaching them to say ... Thank You to Jesus.
How many people who talk about the Bible being pulled out of school has ever sent a bible to school with their child and said to read it as you eat lunch ... Or when your school work is done read it ... Or read it on the school bus ... Folks, Jesus can still be in our schools, and the best way to send Jesus into our schools is to send Him in, in the hearts of our kids and our teachers ... yes our teachers ... And trust me on this one ... we have teachers on this line and they live for Jesus and they do it where they teach ... And kids know who they are ... We have prayer clubs and Christian clubs ... a few years ago Carry The Light Ministries picked up the tab for a school bus that took kids from a local middle school to a church one afternoon a week ... Yes parents had to sign for it, but it was backed by that school board ...
Folks we all need to be a "John The Baptist" and we need our children and our grandchildren being just that in schools ... I remember not too many years ago when our son Keith coached little kids in football ... before each game, we gathered the kids in a huddle and we prayed for the game, not to win but for the kids to be safe and play their best ... There was not one complaint ... not one.
I think most of the complaints, oh I am going to get it for this statement ... I think most of the complaints that come from not having Jesus in our schools, comes from parents who don't even get the kids to Sunday School ... No, you cannot go into school and stand there and read your Bible but you can teach your child about Jesus and they can share it with others ... And you can open your Christian home for your kids' friends ... And dare I ask this one also ... How many of our families where they complain about the Bible reading being removed from schools, sit down with their kids, and read the Bible ... How many sit at the breakfast table and do a short Bible study... just one verse ... How many? Folks, "Put feet on your prayers" (Pamela Bower) and send your kids off to school LOADED WITH JESUS ... and having Jesus in their heart ... And they need to learn it at home ... And when you find teachers that love the Lord, love that teacher even more ... Maybe we need to be signing our names again with a fish sign under them ... Folks, all of us need to be a John The Baptist, and we need to be it ALL THE TIME ...
Sharing your blessings is a good way to get started, and a big help to others ... what you do brothers and sisters, you must do in faith ... do it for Jesus, and through Jesus, and let His light shine in you and your children ... love ya dan
PS, remember to pray for your teachers today... And pray for Big John and Larry ... two of our many Christian teachers on this line ...
