When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... What can a flock of geese do that pastors all over the country would love to be able to do? Answer! Get 155 people to all pray at once ... AND THE LORD ANSWERED THE PRAYERS ...
Thank You Jesus for saving each and every person on board that plane that went into the drink yesterday in New York ... Thanks Lord for a pilot on board who knew what to do, and thank You Lord for first responders and once again those wonderful New York Firefighters and Police and all the people just going home from work on those boats helping ... Lord as we thank You for them we also give You all the glory ... In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Dolores and I saw that and prayed right away... over and over again we just said, protect Your people Lord ... And He did ...
Today is the day we pray for those who work the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus. I have said this over and over again, we all need to be on this prayer list. Pray, warriors, pray for there are many souls that need saving by Jesus and we are part of the tools needed to bring in those lost to be saved ... (Amen)
Prepare The Way 5 Luke 3: 21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, who I love; with You I am well pleased." (NIV)
All week I have been talking about the forerunner of our Lord Jesus, John The Baptist. I just want to in review tell you what I think is the main message of the week ... REPENT AND TURN FROM SIN...
Now here comes Jesus who is without sin, without any sin at all and He also gets baptized. Why? First of all we know that Jesus does not just tell us do as I say ... He also lived and showed us what to do and how we should live. Here is an example of that. Jesus is showing the other people that it is a good thing what John is doing, it is a good thing to be baptized, and folks it also pleases Our Father in Heaven, as seen when the voice came from Heaven saying "You are my Son, who I love; with you I am pleased."
Parents how often have you said that to your children? Do they long to hear this from you? What about a report card ... I would come home from school with a very bad report card, and my parents were teachers ... I took the submarine course in school, as most of my grades were below "C" level. But my dad was proud of me when I passed out of high school (on schedule) as if I had straight A's. He said I love you ... now that was nice to hear after all the screaming and yelling I got during my school years ... But when I made it, he was proud ... so was my mamma ... (I hated school). All too often we as parents are guilty of not telling our kids we are proud of them ... Maybe it is one thing they did wrong in life and we forget about all the good things they had done ... I know my parents wanted to see me go to schools of higher education. My dad wanted me to teach, mom wanted me to preach ... I wanted to fix cars ... guess what I did ... First I fixed cars, then at Central Dauphin, I taught bus drivers to drive and taught safety schools ... Now I preach ... So I am sure my parents are saying I love you son, I am pleased with you. Do we do it with our children ... Seems sometimes we want to live out our lives through that of our kids ... We are not them and they not us ... So folks, tell them how you love them, take this example of God and His Son Jesus ... Tell them you love them and help them with their shortcomings ... Remember that Jesus was the only perfect one ... We as parents surely are not ...
I know a gentlemen who raised his girls to be wonderful girls, just wonderful, but one thing went wrong and now he is coming to grips with it ... Folks, love your children, hug them daily, and remember none of us were or are perfect and also remember this, and I will be writing more on this later ... a sin, is a sin, is a sin ...
Before I sign off for today I want to once again thank those who support Carry The Light Ministries ... we will be singing on Saturday at Cedar Haven in Lebanon at 2:00 PM. As for the food pantry ... we have called our families, remember we helped over 50 families in December. We have called a dozen of those in need back for another round ... and we are looking forward to being able to help several families year round ... GOD IS GOOD ...
This comes my friends from working with Jesus and sharing His blessings ... the more we give out, the more seems to come in ... Share folks, share, in faith of course ... love ya, dan.
