Thursday: King of all kings

Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters ... I want to take a break in our journey this morning and talk about Jesus, the one and only real King ... I bring this up today as it is the anniversary of the birth of Elvis Presley ... who by the way, makes more money while deceased as most of us do working.

Called the king of rock and roll, and notice I used that small k, there are a lot of people who worshiped him I am sure ... Personally I like his music and we use some of Elvis Presley's back tracks for singing some of our hymns in our last set at concerts ... Yes, we close each concert at retirement homes with those old hymns, those I call the meat and potatoes hymns, and we sing for the King, on the king's tracks (with permission). When I watch some of the old concert trips I see how a lot of women really went nuts over this guy ... and folks this happens even today ... In fact I watch as a young man named Dennis who sings with "Special Friends" does his Elvis thing at the Bridges, and let me tell you the senior women still go nuts ... (must be something in those hips). Folks, how many of you know that most of his back-up singers were "gospel singers"? I truly believe that Elvis did love our Lord Jesus, and I know that he had roots in the Assembly of God church.

If you want to hear some good singing of the gospel, you might want to go to ebay and see if you can find some these great discs ... "Elvis Presley Amazing Grace and/or Elvis Presley How Great Thou Art". I mean this man could sing and his music lives on this day ... But folks, may I caution you that Elvis or all the other singers who might be at the top of their game, are not the King ... Jesus is King.

Revelation 17:14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, we should only worship one, and that is Jesus our Lord, who is King, and He is above all other kings, and He is Lord and He is above all other Lords ... and I want you to all remember this today ... Elvis Presley had a lot of talent, and it was on loan from God ...
God for whatever reason, CALLED IN THE LOAN! We thank God for his music that remains with us this day, but I for one, only bow down to one person, and to nothing else ... Jesus is my King, and I love Him ...

Today is Thursday and that means it is family day on this line ... and Today I ask for prayer for Beverly Orner who is having tests done and also for Blanch Shambaugh who is having some surgery ... Also for families ... and folks, please if you have not done this already, please make your family part of the family of God and folks, MEN, it needs to start with you as you head up your family ... and LADIES, if your husband will not do this, or if you are a single parent, it is up to You to get this done.

Father in Heaven, thank You for being our King, the head of all kings, and the head of my family. Lord bless families today and bless Beverly and also Blanch ... be with them at the hospitals ... and Lord thanks again for blessing this line ... and Lord may all who use the line and the blog be part of Your family, the family of God ... In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings ... "Thank you very much", love ya, dan .
