Dear Brothers and Sisters, I don't write often on Saturdays, but this morning I just wanted to post a few praise reports as they came to me, word for word. We do not praise our Lord Jesus enough. I am sorry I have left all of you down on this one, and more so I am sorry to Jesus. Please when you send me prayer requests, try and remember to follow up with a praise report ...
These reports came in from prayer warriors on this line ...
My church (Assembly of God, Lancaster Pa.) was praying for a young girl from Valley Forge Christian College who was in a terrible car accident last week. Terrible head injury that put her in a coma. A coma that the Dr’s. thought would last indefinitely. This past Wednesday, she woke (UNEXPECTANTLY) from the coma. Examinations were done and today she is leaving the hospital with no side effects and no evidence of a head injury!!!
WOW!!!!! Rick Brouse
One of our men at Newport Assembly had a saw kick back on him and really messed his hand and fingers. Doctors thought the fingers could not be saved last week. Charlie came up front for prayer on Sunday. Large group of prayer warriors laid hands on him. Monday - Doctors are amazed at the healing of his hand and fingers. All the fingers will be fine. Doctor said it was a miracle. The Doctor up in heavens was in charge on this day. AMEN!

While the whole nation clamors for the Super Bowl this Sunday, I would just like to remind you that a real Super Hero is celebrating his 100th birthday on the same day. George Beverly Shea becomes a centenarian with Heaven’s distinguished service award as a Gospel Singer. We all should be so fortunate, huh? What’s a Super Bowl game that took only a year to ripen and could go either direction, compared to the well seasoned committed career of a humble servant of Jesus Christ who never lowered his standard of excellence or his integrity? I’m certainly not trying to dampen the excitement of the big game, but for my part I would rather receive the “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” Award, than to have Super Bowl rings on all eight fingers. And while Mr. Shea’s big milestone will doubtless be overshadowed by the game, the triumph of his lifetime accomplishments for Christ will most certainly be the object of the party of Heavenly hosts, where the real score is kept. One party will hand out rings; the other, crowns. Neil
Thanks, Pastor Dan, for a wonderful article today. All too often we forget to thank Jesus for ALL he has done for us.
By the way, twelve years ago I had the privilege of meeting George Beverly Shea in person. What a wonderful person he is and he related to all of us around him as he visited with us. He wasn't too "good" to touch for he was too busy reaching out. That's my kind of Christian. Yes, his rewards are going to be as big as all of heaven when he gets there. We should all practice "Loving God and Loving Each Other" more often. Bro. Shea surely does.
Have a good day and great weekend.
Pastor Carol
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for all you do for this line, and for all those who read and pray for those listed, but most of all today, you and you alone are worthy of our praise. Thanks for your healing hand, and thanks for all you do. Thanks for waking me this day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
And yes, you can share your blessings today as always ... and remember Jesus loves you, and yep, so do I. love ya, dan .

Friday: Still The Same
Good Morning, my dearest brothers and sisters. It is another beautiful day here in Central Pennsylvania. Yes, it is still dark, but I know for a fact that the SON is shining down on all of us ... So my dear brothers and sisters, open up the blinds of your heart and soul and "let the Son shine in."
PRAISE REPORT: This coming out of the Newport Assembly of God: I have copied it and pasted it word for word the way I received it from Robert "Rob" Campbell.
The Doctor up in heaven was in charge on this day. AMEN
Today is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work in the Fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. Today as we pray, please pray for some old friends of mine, Ross and Ruth Willard and March for Jesus of PA. This wonderful couple live each day to work for Jesus (as we all should do). Please pray for Jack McKee stage four cancer. Also pray for this line and the word that goes out over it. Also please this weekend right before the National Anthem, take a minute and sing happy birthday to George Beverly Shea who will be 100 years old ... As singer-songwriter Neil Enloe wrote to me yesterday, some work a few hours a week and then go to the super bowl for a ring, some wanting more than one; while Mr. Shea has worked his whole life for the Lord, did not get a ring for the super bowl, but will receive his rewards in heaven. Happy Birthday Mr. Shea, and when we all get to heaven, I want to stand with you in God's big choir. George Beverly Shea is a long time partner with Reverend Billy Graham. And Neil, thanks for pointing these things out to me.
STILL THE SAME: I mention it often, I quote it word for word from the Bible, and today I want to talk to you just a bit about it. Hebrews 13: 8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (NIV) Brothers and sisters we, you and I, change often, but our Lord Jesus does not. So why do I bring this up so often? I do this so that you will understand that the things in the Bible are not just for "back in the day" but they are for the "here and now" and for "all the tomorrows that God gives us" . When we read about the life of Jesus as He walked this earth, the way he healed, the way he drove out demons, the way he fed thousands, it is still the same today.
I want you to think about this long and hard today. How many times has our good Lord healed you from things that you did not get? Think about it, we might get a cold and we get upset if it lingers on for a few days or a week, but how many germs has He blocked from you? How many times have you been granted healing when you did not even know you were sick? Blocked it ... Our systems get the credit. I ask you, who made our systems in the first place? Come on folks, give glory to God. When you are overwhelmed about things, look at how many things God has taken from you in life so you would not be overwhelmed. Jesus never gives up on us, but how often have we given up on Him? Think about it, how many times have you ever gone to our Lord Jesus in prayer thanking Him for healing you, when you have not been sick? Let me say that again for it sounds strange ... HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU GONE TO OUR LORD JESUS IN PRAYER THANKING HIM FOR HEALING YOU WHEN YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SICK? Yes, we pray a prayer of thanksgiving when we have been healed, or at least we do it sometimes, but how often to we give the glory to the doctor?
When you have had surgery how often have you been asked, "Who is your doctor?" You talk about your doctors, you talk about your medications, you talk about the hospital and if things went well you are just saying how wonderful it was. WHAT ABOUT DOCTOR JESUS? How often have you said in your life, my doctor is Jesus, and he has a good staff who works for Him ... that being our earthly medical people. Folks, we need to put Jesus on top, and we need to tell others of Him and His work. You know that old thing from the words of Jesus ... "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" - Mark 16: 15 (NIV). Yes, those are the words of Jesus ... so instead of bragging on your earthly doctors, how about bragging on Doctor Jesus who still heals today? Yes, sometimes He will use the doctors, but more often than not you get the direct hand on Jesus, before you were even sick ... and please don't forget that one ...
I just want to mention one more thing on this issue. You remember how Jesus took fish and bread and fed thousands with just a little ... Look at the millions upon millions of people that His hands feed today. Don't tell me it is not Jesus. I know you go to the food store and you push that cart up and down the rows upon rows of food and it is hard to think of it like this ... Thank You Jesus for all these things ... for Jesus has His mighty hands in all of it. When you look at a bottle of milk, think of all the hands who have made it ... but think about who made the cow, yes, our Lord did that. Think about the system in the cow that makes the milk ... who made that?. Who made man who milks the cow, feeds the cow, cleans up after the cow, drives the truck, works the milk, puts it in the bottle, puts it back in another truck, drives that truck to the store, puts it on the shelf? You say man did it ... folks, without God we have nothing and we should never forget it. And do you know that He even feeds those who hate Him, and those who do not believe He lives. Shame on all who don't believe and shame on us who believe in Him, but forget that He is STILL THE SAME ... AMEN.
Dear Father in Heaven, You are still the same and we love You. May we never forget that You are the same, and that You are why we are here. May we walk this day in Your light, to please You, and to work this day and every day to tell others of Your Good News. In Jesus Name, AMEN.
Now go forth, sharing your blessings ... tomorrow I get to share some of mine as I work as a guide at the Car, Truck and Motor Cycle Museum at 161 Museum Dr. Hershey Pa. Yes, a little different but a great place to witness and even get a chance to pray and anoint folks. Work in the fields of Harvest, and the fields are all around you. Share those blessings - see you Monday. Love ya, dan.

Wed/Thurs: Healed to Work
Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters. I am truly sorry about yesterday morning, I really hate to miss any day, but Wednesday, our day of Salvation prayers, is most important because of the Salvation and also I think we really need the midweek break for Jesus. So today we will have Salvation Day and Family Day all in one ... and why not, for it is just great when a whole family is all saved. I am telling you that one way to please this old dad, granddad and great granddad is if he knew without doubt that all the family, and we have been blessed with a large family, were "Born Again". So pray warriors, pray, and please pray also for Miller family in the passing of Don's mother. Pray for Sandy Tritt, who is with child and has been taken to the hospital and hemorrhaging and might lose the baby ... pray warriors, pray. Pray also for the family of Roy Shrawder, age 47, who had a massive heart attack while having knee surgery. And please pray for the town of Coatesville Pa. where they have someone setting house fires, and for Lancaster County Pa, where someone is torching barns.
Healed to Work: It is morning, the alarm clock is ringing, and you are feeling like you were hit by a Mack truck. Your head is stuffed, you cannot get your breath, you had just fallen asleep and that darn clock went off and it is time to go to work ... You turn the clock off and run to the bathroom, not because you are that excited about going to work, but you just need to get there in a hurry ... You are so sick, you make the phone call that most people hate to make ... Hi, this is Martin, and you need to mark me off sick ... and you go back to bed ... maybe call the doctors ... and then you pray God's healing hand upon you. Come on God, heal me, for I want to go back to work. Ok, not all people pray that way, but some do for they really need the job for the money to pay the bills. And lets face it, no one wants to be sick.
I did hear one time of a pastor and three others meeting for a round of golf. Before going out to play they were making excuses about what hurt, maybe making an excuse for a bad round of golf that is coming up. Jake said he had a bad shoulder, Joe said he had a bad back, and Josh had bad knees. The Pastor who felt good said to the men, lets pray for healing before we start the round of golf, for we all know God really does heal. All knowing full well the healing power of God, were ready for this, except for "Joe", who said, "please don't pray for me, I am on Workers Comp". Yes Joe was being paid to stay home and play golf, etc., maybe riding the system so to speak.
But there is something about getting better and going back to work, and folks, when God heals you, don't you think that should go back to work and some of that work should be for God? Listen to this from Luke 4: 38: Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. (NIV)
Notice that Mamma-in-law got up to serve all, not just Jesus, or not just the others ... She served both. So while the healing hand of Jesus is what we need to look at here (and again, Jesus still heals today as He did back then), I want to point out the message that might be hidden in here ... Jesus healed the lady to serve God and man (woman). Please my dear brothers and sisters, know that is still being done today. When God heals you, be it direct or through the hands of doctors or others I believe you are being healed to serve God and mankind. Yes I truly believe it ... and even when we are not healed, I fully believe that most all people can do something. Folks, I know people who because of health problems cannot go to work, but they can spend a lot of time on the computer. How about some work, typing, mailings, etc., being done on the computer ... or even phone work. And if a person can do nothing for pay, can they still not work for Jesus? If you can type on a computer, you can work for Jesus. Folks, when it comes to numbers there are very few who really can do nothing ... and those folks we need to be taking care of.
So maybe, just maybe, God would be more willing to heal people if He knew we were going to get up and go to work for Him. And even WHEN HE CHOOSES NOT TO HEAL US RIGHT AWAY, WE STILL NEED TO GET UP AND WORK FOR HIM. That is what I feel folks, it really is ... we need to push back the pain, and work for Jesus ... THINK OF THE PAIN HE WENT THROUGH FOR US. While I know some will get mad at me for saying this, others might be thinking AMEN ...
Father in Heaven, All of us would just love to be healed today, free of pain and suffering, but Lord I am going to tell you right now, I am working for You regardless, and I will praise You forever and ever. I owe You big-time Jesus for taking me back after being raised by Christian parents and then drifting. So while I know You feel the pain of all of us, it is important for me to just know and love You, knowing that the pain You suffered for me was much greater than I could ever carry. Lord ,today I pray that we, all of us on this line, go to work for You, that we get into the fields of harvest, something we can even do from home, Lord, for anyone that is reading and praying this has a computer and is online and can be sending words from You to others. Lord, Lord, help us to bring people to Your feet to be saved. Be with Don in the loss of his mamma, and be with Sandy who wants to be a mamma again, and Lord, with the family who needs their dad who suffered the massive heart attack. Lord, Your hand on all today and on this message will be appreciated ... in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Sharing your blessings is important, I mention it each day. "We are blessed to be a blessing" (Dr. Richard Denison, United Methodist pastor). Yes and as we are blessed, so should we be sharing it with others. Are you sharing with others from your vase blessings? Folks, when you go to the store, if you buy ten things, give one away ... buy a case of toilet paper, put a roll or two back to give away. buy a pack of soap, put a bar back to give away. Buy ten cans of soup, give one away... share your blessings. Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Demons
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is snowing here at the Southern Location of the North Pole ... (come on spring). Each year I promise God that if He gets me through the cold of the winter I will never complain about the heat of the summer ...
Praise reports ... Vicki's pneumonia is getting better ... Don Saylor's cancer surgery (bladder) went well, in fact they did it and sent him on home ... Our daughter Leann came through her testing and minor surgery well and went home the same day. And Dolores found out at the doctor that although she has a lot of pain, they feel there is nothing new. Most all in the bones and muscles. God is good ... Please pray for J. S., I have held back her name, and you will see why ... I have been bedside with her and she has told me she has now asked Jesus into her heart ... She is in hospice care for cancer ... This lady was a nurse at a local abortion clinic for over six years ... The reason I need you to pray for her, is I am not convinced that she thinks that was a wrong thing to do ... Only Jesus really knows her heart. Please, please pray that she asks forgiveness for that ... I could not get that point across ... She did pray for her sins to be forgiven but does not feel helping with abortion was/is a sin ... PRAY WARRIORS PRAY ...
It is also schools day on this line ... Yes, brothers and sisters, our schools need our prayers ... Please send your children to school knowing how to be a good witness for Jesus. And while we are praying for schools and kids, please pray for the family on the West Coast who had eight, yes 8, children born to them yesterday ... Eight children and all alive and doing ok ... Think of it, ladies ... eight babies to feed, and men, men ... go get about 6 jobs ... and a tractor trailer load of diapers ... Pray warriors pray...
Tuesday: Demons: Some people do not believe in people being demon-possessed, while others will say things like "that person must be demon-possessed". Still others will tell you that they have been in church services where they prayed for demons to come out and some people have told me that they saw them come out ... Folks I do believe that demons are still in some people and I still believe that praying in faith for Jesus to drive them out still happens ... and yes, although I have never seen a demon come out of someone, I do believe that people today have seen it ...
I would ask that you read from Luke 4: 31/37 and you will get the account, one account of Jesus driving out a demon ... From Luke 4: 35 "Be quiet!" Jesus said sternly. "Come out of him!" Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him. (NIV)
Now the reason I believe that it can still be done comes to me from Hebrews 13: 8. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV) And once again I tell you that I believe the word of the Lord ... I believe the words "In the beginning" and every word till I get to "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen". That would be from Genesis 1: 1 through Revelation 22: 21.
Some people sort of pick and choose what they want to believe. They want to use what suits them but if it gets in their way, then they try and spin it off ... Like abortion not being murder, or it is okay to marry someone of the same sex ... to name just two ... So brothers and sisters, we as Christians believe that Jesus died to save us from our sins and if we trust Him, live for Him, confess our sins and love to Him, we will indeed make it to heaven ... Now if you believe that, and I pray you all do, how could you not believe all in the Bible?
If you know people who have lied and lied and lied to you, and then they tell you something that might even be true, do you not need proof? Folks, again I believe all in the Bible, the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD.
Let me just get back to demons for a minute ... I must say that I have seen some people in my life that I said, wow they must be full of demons ... But I am not sure they were full of those demons ...
Folks tomorrow we will be talking more on healing ... and tomorrow is Wednesday, that day we pray for Salvation of souls ... Lets pray today.
Dear Father in Heaven, I have seen people who I thought might have had demons in them, or I thought they might be full of the devil, and please forgive me if I looked at it wrong ... I pray Lord that children and others learn about You, for I believe that is the real reason we know right from wrong ... Still then Lord we over the years, days, even hours have done things that were wrong that we call sins, and not one of us is not a sinner ... Lord, today I want to humble myself before You and ask that You forgive me, and that any evil that might be in me that You would drive out ... I do not want to look at others and even thinking about their sins, when I am a sinner myself ... Lord, please, I pray others will pray in faith the same way ... Lord thanks for all the blessings of yesterday, and all the good things ... Lord You are so faithful ... thanks again for schools and I pray for all of those who enter each and everyone of them. Lord bless the teachers, the staff in the office, the lead staff, the ones who clean the floors, and the ones who cross the kids on street corners, and yes those bus drivers ... and Lord did I say be with the kids ... Lord, Lord how we love you ... and Lord thanks for blessing that one family with eight at once yesterday... for all children are a blessings ... all of them ... Lord Jesus, I want to tell you right now ... I love you, I really do ... please Lord as I believe each part, each verse, each word in the Bible, please open it more and more to me and others ... Lord feed it to us so we can digest it ... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Go forth sharing your blessings ... Folks, we are still having families come for food ... Some things in our little pantry are going down ... yesterday Dolores and I went pasta shopping at the store ... God has been so good ... and God has also taught us in Carry The Light Ministries that we must keep this food pantry open year round ... Folks, we all like to eat year round ... We are trying to help those who really need it be it long term or just for a few weeks ... Love ya, dan.
Monday: Christian Witness
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... It is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Monday is the day we pray for our Military, our police and firefighters and all others who keep us safe ... Also the day we pray for our leaders ... Federal, State, Local ... Also pray for Don Saylor as he has cancer surgery on his bladder and for our daughter Leann as she is having bladder tests, and for Dolores as her pain just keeps growing and spreading ... she has a doctor's appointments today. Please pray also for Vicki, and brothers and sisters, she need to be in our daily prayers regardless if I list her or not ... She has a plate full ...
Today a little side trip in our walk with Jesus from when Mary was told of the carrying of Jesus in her womb, to his death on the cross and beyond the grave ... Just a side trip today to talk to you about your Christian Witness ... First this question: Do you have a Christian Witness? Just going to church is not being a Christian Witness, just like staying away from church would block you from being that Christian Witness ... Being a Christian Witness starts with the fact you take Jesus into your heart and start living daily for Him ... Being a good Christian goes beyond just loving Jesus, you must really live for Him ... I mean what kind of witness does one make who goes to church each week, maybe sings in the choir, but then stands at the water cooler and talks about others? A good witness stays away from those things and tries their very best to live to please Jesus.
But now lets go and look at Mark 16: 15 He (Jesus) said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
This a commandment from our Lord Jesus is not asking us to go, it is telling us to go, an order so to speak ... The order tells us we need to take the word to the world ... Brothers and sisters, your next door neighbor, the person across the street, those down the street, all like you and I live in the world ... Now if you are like me, I got a late start on working for Jesus, I really did. I did that big old walk about as many have, and I have come back. Once in a while someone will hear about me singing, preaching, and teaching for Jesus and they will start to tell others of my past ... Folks, when you go to Jesus and ask for your sins to be cleaned from your past, they are gone, done over, zip... Those who bring them up, more than likely do not have Jesus in their own heart or they would understand this ... Although the Christian Army does tend to try and kill off their wounded instead of picking them up. Ok, I got off subject a tad ...
Being a Christian Witness does not mean you need to be a pastor at a mega church, or be a Charles Stanley or Benny Hinn and have a big TV show ... Soul-winning is done one at a time for the most part and it is the workers, the daily workers in the fields of Harvest, that get this harvest work started.
You can have all the mega churches you can build, but if no one goes out to tell folks about Jesus and about those churches, then the seats will be empty ... I think sometimes we should think small ... Small local churches, small settings, sometimes reach the heart for Jesus better ...
On Friday night I went to a small church to hear a gospel singing group that has been around a long time. These old men called the Jacobs Brothers are rock solid in the Lord, and do so much more than just sing ... They have a camp for kids, and many a teen has found the Lord there ... They also sing in small churches as well as large, they go where God sends them ... Most groups do that, but some of the better known names wanting the big bucks only sing for the large crowds ...
Now let me get back to that little church in the valley, the one where the singers were at ... Glenvale Church of God. What a family-friendly little and growing church. Just yesterday this same church sent their youth group to The Bridges (where I pastor). These kids sang their hearts out for the Lord ... And folks, all were in the choir that wanted to be in it. At a mega church they have tryouts for a choir, at the little churches if you want to sing, it does not make a difference if you hit an off note ... You sing ...
I think sometimes we make too much out of all the big things ... In the service station business I took care of my customers and did it well, we had a great business, but not the biggest ... I was told then by Exxon and others that in business you had to grow or go ... Well that was true for the little gas guys are gone and the mega gas stations are in. .. and they are just that, gas stations, NOT SERVICE stations.
Applying this same thinking to our very own singing ministry, Carry The Light, I have always liked going into the bigger retirement homes where you would sing to a larger crowd ... but there is also something very special about going into a home and singing to a dozen or less people ... A great Christian Lady, the late, Norma Beitzel was the activity director at a very small nursing home and we sang there a lot ... It was wonderful. Oh how I love her and her witness, now being carried out by her son Tim (Couriers) ...
Brothers and Sisters, when you work for the Lord remember each person needs to be taken to the feet of Jesus, and most often it is one-on-one when it happens ... and remember to get into heaven, it is not a group thing ... LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN, to get into heaven it is not a group thing, a big group or small, it is a ONE-ON-ONE personal relationship with Jesus ... And someone said Amen!
Today, Lord, let us think one-on-one, one-on-one between You and me, between You and each person as one on this line ... Today we are thinking in smaller numbers, not bigger ones ... Lord, it does not mean a thing if this daily goes to ten thousand or one as long as it gets to the one who needs it ... Lord, I pray today for our leaders, for our President and other leaders. I pray for our military and all those who have served and still serve, I pray for our police and firefighters and all who work to keep us safe. Bless them all, Lord ... I pray for Don, Vicki, Leann, and Dolores and ask Your healing hand on them. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
Go forth sharing your blessings with others ... now you can think big on this for God surely will replace them over and over again ... love ya, dan.

Friday: Temptations 4
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are out working the Fields of Harvest for our Lord God: (As Ordered) So please pray for the pastors at all churches that preach and teach the true and complete word of God ... Also pray for those Gospel Singers and remember the Jacobs Brothers in your prayers for their concert tonight at the Glenvale Church of God ... Pray for the Couriers, and others singing the gospel ... and pray for Carry The Light Ministries and moreso for our food pantry as we are now having lots of families stop back for more food ... God has been so good...
Temptations 4: Luke 4: 9 The devil led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "Throw yourself down from here. 10 for it is written "'He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully; 11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" 12 Jesus answered, "It says: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test'" 13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left Him until an opportune time. (NIV)
Folks, we are to never ever test our Lord God according to Luke 4 12, however, there is one place in your Christian walk where you can test the Lord and I invite you to test Him on this, but please, please do it in faith, for if not done in faith ... well ... Malachi 3: 8 Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, How do we rob you?" "In tithes and offerings." 9 "You are under a curse The whole nation of you because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. TEST ME IN THIS," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings that you will not have room enough for it." (NIV)
So folks, the devil tempted Jesus and Jesus told him we are not to test God ... But as we see, it is ok in one place ... one place. So folks, please follow the word of the Lord, don't test God, except in your sharing of your blessings ... If you are going to jump out of an airplane you better have on a parachute ...
I also want to point out one last thing in my writings on temptations ... From Luke 4: 9 The devil led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. (NIV) Even before the devil tried to get Jesus to jump ... the devil led Jesus around ... Why do you think Jesus left this happen? Why did Jesus follow the devil? Folks, Jesus did this just to point out those other things ... Jesus could have snapped His fingers and thrown the devil into the deep blue seas to drown ... He ordered demons out of people, and into pigs, and the pigs to death ...
Folks, please do not test Jesus, and also please do not let the devil lead you, for you do not have the staying power to fight off the temptation. We need to always stand on the word of Jesus to block off Satan, and if we let that down for just a minute, the devil will jump right in on you ... Folks, if you noticed in the Bible it said the devil left Jesus after all of his tempting UNTIL THE OPPORTUNE TIME. Do you think that opportune time might be when the devil attacks us? Do you think that Satan is trying to get to Jesus by attacking His children (us)? Think about that. If we block the devil out of our lives, we block and block and block, does he not go after our family so as to hurt us ... and brothers and sisters, you who have children, or any family at all, does it not hurt you when family members get into problems, or hurt? Think about it ... Don't get caught anytime, anyplace, without Jesus with you. Put Him on board with you right now and keep Him there ...
Dear Father in Heaven. Please come to us, save us, forgive us, and protect us from the devil ... We are weak, but You are strong ... protect us, and Lord, show others, as You have shown me, how to have your blessing multiplied ... over and over again ... Thanks for doing that for us ,Lord, in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Folks, go forth and have a really blessed weekend ... maybe I will see you at Glenvale tonight, Dolores and I are planning on going to hear the Jacobs Brothers ... Remember to share your blessings in faith ... love ya, dan.

Thursday: Temptations 3
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... It is a great day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole ... yes it is cold, but 15 years ago we set all-time lows, as the temperatures went to minus 22 and that is not wind chill... So as always we can count our blessings for the Lord is good.
Today, Thursday, is family day on the line, the day we pray for families far and wide ... Please pray for our new first family in Washington, and for your family and mine ... Also please pray for the Saylor family from our flock. Donald, the senior member of the family, goes for cancer surgery on Monday. All in the family are adults and all are disabled and all work hard ... They are wonderful people.
Please also pray for Jill Smith who is now with hospice care with cancer ... She is a resident of the Bridges but one who never came to our services ... Today Dolores and I are going to the Hospice Hospital to be with her and be sure of her heart ... I have talked to her before, and feel she knows the Lord, but want to really have a heart to heart with her ... She needs your prayers and so do we as we minister at her bedside ... This assignment by God is not an easy one folks, but we honor God by going ... and ask for forgiveness as we should have gone yesterday...
Temptations 3 Luke 4:5 The devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to Him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 So if you worship me, it will all be yours. 8 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'" (NIV)
Here we have old Satan trying to sell Jesus a bill of goods. Now think about it, Jesus is God, as we know, (God in three persons) and He is standing with the devil who has, like us, free will, and this master of hate is trying to get Jesus to worship him by saying he will let Jesus have authority over it ... So we see just how stupid Satan is, really stupid, for as we know Jesus has authority over it already, but has given it over to man to run day to day... Once already He has taken it away with a big flood and except for Noah and his family started mankind all over again ... because of sin ...
So now when the sin is up again this time God came down as man in Jesus and walks the earth, knowing full well what His mission is ... the devil is going to try and sell Jesus a "bill of goods".
Folks, if this master of evil, Satan, would try and sell Jesus a "bill of goods", what in the world do you think he is trying to do with the rest of us? Here we find once again the devil tempting Jesus by saying he will give him the world. Does he not do that with us? Yes, give us the world ... MONEY, that seems to be the world around us most of the time ... Do this and do that and you can get rich fast ... Rob, steal, cheat, and he wants us all to do just that ... Invest in this and invest in that and get rich ... You want to get rich ... INVEST IN GOD! Yes, invest in God, and in tomorrow's lesson we will find when we should not test God and in what one thing we can test God in ... that is for tomorrow...
What kind of bill of goods have you been asked to buy into ... oh, not just with money, but what kind of bill of goods? Are you buying into it is ok to be gay thing ... are you buying into living together without marriage is ok ... are you buying into abortion and trying to say it is ok, for it is just another unwanted child ... What is Satan trying to sell you on this 22nd day of January 2009? Each day he will try and sell you something, but folks we have a person who can look over the deals for us, look over the things that are offered up by man and sometimes by evil ... Yes, not all offers are from Satan, but how do we know the difference sometimes as they all look so good? Folks, we pray about it and we listen for God's answers ... We really do ... Pray and listen and, brothers and sisters, we all tend sometimes to pray and not listen ... I for one confess to that and step out on my own ... Sometimes it goes ok, and we try to step out more, then we fall on our face ... We need to always step out with, and for, the Lord in all we do ... If you would not do it with Jesus standing in front of you, then don't do it for Jesus sees all we do ... Pray about it, listen for answers, pray again if you are not hearing God speak to your heart ... and be sure it is God talking to your heart and not Satan talking to your "butt" for sometimes we do listen through the wrong parts of our bodies ... yes we do ... You and I all know that ... Listen to your heart folks, listen to your heart and soul, listen for Jesus.
Father in Heaven, talk to us and let us hear Your words each day. Lord help us to learn to listen and not look over You and get confused with the master of evil ... We need to listen to You, the Master of our Lives, and keep You the Master of our lives by living for You and to please You ... Help us with that, in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen ...
Go forth sharing your blessings, and tomorrow find out about what you can test God on ... You might be surprised, but I don't think so ... I believe you already know for I talk about it daily ... ok, go share, in faith ... love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Temptations 2
PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD ... My dear brothers and sisters, we have so much to be thankful for this morning. First we should be praising our Lord Jesus for a safe day yesterday in Washington DC. With all those folks in town there could have been a lot of trouble ... Thank God, all glory to Him for keeping it safe ... My personal praise this morning. I had my blood tests done yesterday for cancer ... You who follow the line know that I had prostate cancer two years ago ... I did not have surgery, I did take radiation treatments. However God healed me, and my number yesterday on the test was 0.01 and that my dear brothers and sisters is NO CANCER ... I also had some heart tests done and so far they are coming out just fine ... they are not done yet ... Prayers would be appreciated, as a test in the doctors office on Monday shows my heart is not pushing out the way it should. The tests I have had since are doing ok ... one more to go next week ... Maybe my heart was taking a nap on that one test. God is good folks, so there are no worries coming from me about this. None, Zip ...
Prayers today for Vicki, her son Josh, and also her dad Donald ... Folks Vicki has a real plate full, and has for a long time ... She has asked for a card shower for her father. Donald Luneke, Room 110, 5040 Philadelphia Drive, Dayton Ohio, 45415.
Today is Wednesday and the day we pray for those who are unsaved, and for God to use us to help bring the unsaved to His feet ... In your salvation prayers today please pray for our new president and his family. I am not judging if he is saved or not, however prayers will not hurt if he is.
Some good old Southern Gospel Music will be at the At Glenvale Church of God, 1970 New Valley Rd., Marysville PA, this Friday evening, January 23 at 7:00 PM ... The Jacobs Brothers from Dillsburg Pa, will be singing ... These men of music are rock solid in the Lord ... Come out and relax, enjoy and be blessed ...
Temptations 2. Yes folks we are still on that big bus trip (you thought I forgot) and we are looking at Luke 4 today, the Temptation of Jesus ... Luke 4: 1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert 2 where for forty days He was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them He was hungry. 3 The devil said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." 4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone.'" (NIV)
I say man does not live on bread alone ... why we need steaks, chops, fish, lobster, potatoes, veggies of all colors and size and oh yes, burgers, and burgers and pizza, and ICE CREAM and cake and pie and cake and ice cream and ice cream and cake and ice cream and pie and CHOCOLATE (or at least Dolores does) and the food list goes on and on and on and on ... Why, some of biggest temptations today are food. Think of it, Jesus went to pray and fast and spent 40 days without eating, and we get upset if we have a doctors appointment and can't have anything after midnight ... I know it is hard, I have had more than one meal in my life at 11:30 PM to beat that midnight thing ...
Are we not glad today that man does not live on bread alone? Are we not happy that we have all those other foods? I know that most all of us at one time or another have been on a diet and I am the samea... I can remember how I would go to weight watchers meetings and after the meeting go and have three of those Burger King Whoppers ... Gosh it was such a temptation with the Burger King being about a block from Weight Watchers ... I am sure all of us have had temptations more than just ones like that ... How could anyone keep on a diet today with all those food commercials on TV and in the paper ... But it is not just food temptations that we get ...
Let me ask you this one. How many of you, and be truthful here, are tempted to push that gas pedal down to the floor and go fast on the roads? I am talking over the speed limit fast ... Oh yes, breaking man's laws sounds simple but it is a sin, and a sin, is a sin, is a sin ...
Jesus was tempted by the devil day after day after day and He did not waver ... for us, when we are tempted sometimes we don't last 5 minutes ... I mean while I was writing this I was enjoying a very large cup of hot chocolate. While I am not on a diet now, I really don't think I needed all that sugar. (I am sweet enough.) Ok, I am joking some, but you see where I am coming from ... Folks, we in America are so blessed when it comes to food. But let me get off food for a tad, for food is just a start when it comes to temptations and so is speeding.
Let me give you some homework today. Not much, I just want you to ask yourself, what are some of your temptations? Some folks are tempted to drink booze and I am not talking here a beer once in a while, I am talking about spending half a paycheck on it ... Or gambling. Tell me it is not tempting to purchase a ticket to that big drawing and dream of winning. I have watched people who cannot afford food, spend their money on tickets for the drawings ... I have seen them lay out a 20 dollar bill for tickets ... and folks that would buy 40 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese ... (back to food)
Go and address yourself, what tempts you ... and folks I do believe that NOT all those temptations come from the devil ... I think sometimes we give him all to much credit ... It seems sometimes we just do not want to take any blame for things we do, we will take the credit if it is good, but if bad, if it was some sort of temptation we fell to, then blame it on someone else or blame it on the devil.
Folks, the example here today is that Jesus could stand firm against the devil, but we cannot UNLESS we take on Jesus and we stand with Him in all we do ... If we are tempted, we need to call on the name of Jesus to block it for us ...
Dear Father in Heaven, please block those temptations that are not good for us, or are sinful ... Lord, clean us this day and help us to stand with You each day in all we do. We are not strong enough to defeat Satan on our own, so we call on You, the only one who has power over him ... We know that if we call on You, we also have that power to pull from and we know we can fight off his wishes for us ... We just need to stand firm with You. Help us with that Lord ... Be with those on our prayer lists ... and Lord, bless this line. In the name of Jesus, I ask to be used in the fields to help bring in the lost ... I love You, Lord .. and pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Go forth and share those blessings and walk away from those temptations ... Do not try and stand up against them without help, help from Jesus, help from fellow Christians ... love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Pray Hard Today
Dear Brothers and Sisters: I have an early morning doctors appointment today and will be leaving the house in just a few minutes ... Instead of writing a message this morning and not getting it out the way God wants it, I am going to just ask you to pray today ... Today we put into office a new president, not my choice, but one who I will pray for and support in SOME of the things he does ... I will not lower my standards and give in or support gay marriages, abortions, and other things that are being supported in Washington ... Our Bible tells us to pray for our leaders ... Brothers and Sisters, we must keep pushing for God, for our Lord Jesus ... Remember GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL, and for those of us who love Him, we know where we will be heading when God calls. So trust and obey, that is trust and obey God ... And pray for and respect those in Washington and our other leaders ...
Remember also this is Tuesday and that means it is schools day on this line ... again I ask that you pray for all schools and all who enter the doors ...
In closing today, I want to give my personal thanks to President George Bush ... History will show that he really was a good president, and he also loved Jesus. Since he entered the White House the news media tried to take him out ... If you are having tough times, don't blame President Bush ... Blame the media, for if you tell folks things long enough they will believe it ... Just think if the national news media would start telling what all we know, that Jesus is good and is the way to heaven, then most all people would maybe believe it ... Thanks again President Bush, you are welcome at the Lehman house anytime you want to come ... Thanks for keeping our nation safe after 9/11.
Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for this day and thanks for President Bush and his service to our great nation that You made. Thanks for all you do for us ... Now Lord I pray for President elect Obama, and ask first of all that if he is not already, that he becomes saved through Your blood ... I pray for him and his family and for their safety ... And Lord please protect those little girls of his and his wife and keep them safe in school as You look after all of our schools ... Most of all Lord I pray that we will work for You, walk in Your light, and love You more each day. Thanks for all You do ... in Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
Go forth praying and sharing your blessings ... telling others about Jesus ... and keeping the Word of God in your heart ... and remember this . we are to give to Caesar, according to the Bible, we are not to expect Caesar to give to us ... God will take care of us ... love ya, dan.

Monday: Temptations 1
Brothers and Sisters, on this Monday, a Holiday in the United States of America, one called Martin Luther King Jr. day, and with tomorrow a new President going into office, a man who is of a mixed race, I want to point this out ... Red, Yellow, Black, White, Brown, and all shades of those colors we need to remember this ... WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD ... EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US IS EQUAL IN THE EYES OF OUR LORD JESUS ... HE DIED FOR ALL OF US ... He did not die for white people, or black people, or brown people or red people or yellow people, He died for all of us, because He loved and still loves us ... We are made in His image and He knew us before we were in our mother's womb ...
If everyone would love Jesus as much as He loves us, there would be peace ... If we could just learn to love Jesus and love our neighbors would it not be wonderful ... BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THESE ARE COMMANDMENTS ... AND IF YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN, YOU BETTER BE LOVING JESUS, And others also ...
There would be a lot of temptations to not do this, but we need to get in the loving move ... Today I ask you, will you follow the commandments of Jesus ... Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream that all folks would get along ... Jesus wanted it so bad that He made it a commandment and then died for it ... Lets pray ...
Dear Father in Heaven, Help us please to follow Your commandments and love all others and Love You above all else ... Father bless our nation and keep us safe as we install a new president this week ... Bless President Bush as he leaves office and bless President Elect Obama as he comes into office ... bless and keep safe also their families and friends and staff ... And Lord protect all those heading to Washington for the activities there, and bless all who are in the protection business, our military, our police, firefighters and all others working for safety ... Thanks Lord ... In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Go forth, enjoy your holiday, and remember to not just carry out the dreams of Reverend King, but also the commandments of our Lord Jesus ... and remember to share those blessings! Love ya, dan.
Tomorrow more on Temptations .......

Friday: Prepare The Way 5
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... What can a flock of geese do that pastors all over the country would love to be able to do? Answer! Get 155 people to all pray at once ... AND THE LORD ANSWERED THE PRAYERS ...
Thank You Jesus for saving each and every person on board that plane that went into the drink yesterday in New York ... Thanks Lord for a pilot on board who knew what to do, and thank You Lord for first responders and once again those wonderful New York Firefighters and Police and all the people just going home from work on those boats helping ... Lord as we thank You for them we also give You all the glory ... In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Dolores and I saw that and prayed right away... over and over again we just said, protect Your people Lord ... And He did ...
Today is the day we pray for those who work the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus. I have said this over and over again, we all need to be on this prayer list. Pray, warriors, pray for there are many souls that need saving by Jesus and we are part of the tools needed to bring in those lost to be saved ... (Amen)
Prepare The Way 5 Luke 3: 21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, who I love; with You I am well pleased." (NIV)
All week I have been talking about the forerunner of our Lord Jesus, John The Baptist. I just want to in review tell you what I think is the main message of the week ... REPENT AND TURN FROM SIN...
Now here comes Jesus who is without sin, without any sin at all and He also gets baptized. Why? First of all we know that Jesus does not just tell us do as I say ... He also lived and showed us what to do and how we should live. Here is an example of that. Jesus is showing the other people that it is a good thing what John is doing, it is a good thing to be baptized, and folks it also pleases Our Father in Heaven, as seen when the voice came from Heaven saying "You are my Son, who I love; with you I am pleased."
Parents how often have you said that to your children? Do they long to hear this from you? What about a report card ... I would come home from school with a very bad report card, and my parents were teachers ... I took the submarine course in school, as most of my grades were below "C" level. But my dad was proud of me when I passed out of high school (on schedule) as if I had straight A's. He said I love you ... now that was nice to hear after all the screaming and yelling I got during my school years ... But when I made it, he was proud ... so was my mamma ... (I hated school). All too often we as parents are guilty of not telling our kids we are proud of them ... Maybe it is one thing they did wrong in life and we forget about all the good things they had done ... I know my parents wanted to see me go to schools of higher education. My dad wanted me to teach, mom wanted me to preach ... I wanted to fix cars ... guess what I did ... First I fixed cars, then at Central Dauphin, I taught bus drivers to drive and taught safety schools ... Now I preach ... So I am sure my parents are saying I love you son, I am pleased with you. Do we do it with our children ... Seems sometimes we want to live out our lives through that of our kids ... We are not them and they not us ... So folks, tell them how you love them, take this example of God and His Son Jesus ... Tell them you love them and help them with their shortcomings ... Remember that Jesus was the only perfect one ... We as parents surely are not ...
I know a gentlemen who raised his girls to be wonderful girls, just wonderful, but one thing went wrong and now he is coming to grips with it ... Folks, love your children, hug them daily, and remember none of us were or are perfect and also remember this, and I will be writing more on this later ... a sin, is a sin, is a sin ...
Before I sign off for today I want to once again thank those who support Carry The Light Ministries ... we will be singing on Saturday at Cedar Haven in Lebanon at 2:00 PM. As for the food pantry ... we have called our families, remember we helped over 50 families in December. We have called a dozen of those in need back for another round ... and we are looking forward to being able to help several families year round ... GOD IS GOOD ...
This comes my friends from working with Jesus and sharing His blessings ... the more we give out, the more seems to come in ... Share folks, share, in faith of course ... love ya, dan.

Thursday: Prepare The Way 4
PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD, PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD: Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters. We awake this day in Central Pennsylvania to a nice snow covered lawn and driveway, and some cold weather ... Yes, this very day we are having some of God's weather as we have each day ... Are we blessed or what? We are so blessed ... Today is family day on this line, and I just really want to point out that your family needs to be headed up by Jesus, and under Him, men you need to step up to bat ... And yes ladies, when the man lets you down, you must get the job done ... However, Jesus will never let you down and that is why for all of us we need to let him in our house so it becomes a home and we need to have Him head up our family so our family is a real family of God. AMEN.
PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD 4 And yes, we are still on that big bus trip and looking forward to tomorrow when we see our Lord Jesus get baptized. Today I want to just talk about being baptized. I need to make it very, very clear that just being baptized, whether you are "put under" or "sprinkled", will NOT GET YOU INTO HEAVEN. Brothers and sisters, you need to be baptized by the Holy Spirit and I am not talking about speaking in tongues here.
Luke 3: 15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ. 16 John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with THE HOLY SPIRIT and with fire." (NIV)
Folks once again I just want to be very clear that there is but one way to heaven ...
John 14: 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
Folks, there is but one way to Heaven and it is to be Born Again through the Blood of our Lord Jesus, supplied to you through the everlasting power of the Holy Spirit which Jesus left for us when He went back to Heaven to sit at the right hand of our Father ...
Brothers and Sisters, no pastor, no minister, no preacher, teacher, priest, rabbi or any other person referred to as a person of the cloth. No gospel singer, no one, NO ONE, not the mother of Jesus, not the earthly father of Jesus, not John the Baptist, NO ONE BUT JESUS WILL GET YOU INTO HEAVEN ... And brothers and sisters, no one else can pray you in either ... I can pray for Jesus to open your heart, to open you up, but it is between you and Him ... Him and you ... Getting into heaven is not religion, it is a relationship ... AND IT CANNOT BE FAKE ... you might be able to fake things on earth, but Jesus knows your heart ... and it is Your heart and soul being right with Jesus that will get you in ... You cannot tell folks that you love Jesus and do nothing to show it ... You need to be working for Jesus ... And please do not tell me you cannot work for Jesus ...
John baptized with water, his message was this ... REPENT for JESUS IS COMING. And my message for you today is this.
REPENT FOR JESUS IS COMING BACK ... AMEN.
Dear Lord, save us this day, forgive us of our sins and save us. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and loving on Jesus and His word ... and yes, I love ya, but that will not get me or you into heaven ... we all need to be loving JESUS and each other ... love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Prepare The Way 3
Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters ... Brrrrr, it is cold outside. Each year as I get older (hey, you are also), each year I dislike winter more and more ... I do love snow, but gosh, can't we have it at 72 degrees ... Anyway, I promise God each year that if He gets me through the winter, I will never complain about the heat of the summer ... so to that statement today I want to add this ... COME ON SUMMER!!! Now let me get down to doing some work for our Lord Jesus.
Praise report, all tests were good that were done on Beverly Orner (Allie's mother). Prayers for Jennifer who is having back surgery...
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters ... It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line ... For all of you new folks coming on board I say welcome, and we do have a daily prayer schedule ...
Monday is for our leaders, our military, our police, and firefighters and others who work for our safety...
Tuesday is Schools day and the day we pray for all schools and those who enter the doors.
Wednesday is Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray for the unsaved and also pray asking God to use us to bring in the lost so that He can save them. We always need to remember we plant the seeds, work the fields, and bring in the harvest ... But God takes care of the rest, as in getting the product to market ... The product? That would be the lost!
Thursday is family day.
Friday is the day we pray for all of God's workers.
Saturday you are on your own, and Sunday, well we will just let that one up to your pastors or in many cases on this line to "you pastors".
Plus on any day we can pray for things you want to pray for.
Prepare The Way: Again our bus ride is taking us to hear this loud voice calling out in the wild ... PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD ... And today we are back traveling with old John. Born just six months before Jesus and now out working for our Lord Jesus in the fields of Harvest telling all of the coming of Jesus and Baptizing in the name of Jesus. But I think the most important part of his message is not just Baptizing, but his teaching about repentance.
Lets talk about it today. Repentance of sins means that we should turn away from sin ... Not back and forth, not riding the middle of the road, but turning our back on sins and walking away from them.
I want to ask you this, and again I get right down to it a lot ... Did you ever pray a prayer like this? "Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and the sin I am about to do" Did you ever set out knowing you are going to sin so you are asking forgiveness in advance? Confession time folks, I have done that in the past, I really have and I have asked God to not just forgive me of my sins, but have asked Him to forgive me of the sins I knew I was going to do. And brothers and sisters I try very hard not to do anything like that again ... That is like, well like spitting in the face of God ... When one is planning in advance to pray to be forgiven for a sin they are about to do, well tell me where is the repentance from that sin? Folks, we need to repent of the sins, or we are just, well just wasting God's time and even our own by praying for sins to be cleaned when we fully know we are going to do that sin over again ...
As far as getting baptized, some will say you cannot get into heaven unless you are baptized while others will have the battle over how you get baptized ... Put under the water, or sprinkled? Well John put people under the water, and He also did that to Jesus ... Tomorrow we will talk about the day John baptized Jesus, but for now, lets get back to just the act of being baptized. First and foremost we need to know that being baptized is more then an ACT, or it should be. It also means nothing if we do not repent from our sins. Also we need to know that it is just an outward expression of an inward feeling ... So which way is correct ... Folks I am not going to get into a fight between denominations for again, neither mean a thing if we don't repent of our sins ... For that reason, I personally do not believe in baptizing babies (as I was). I believe it should be done when the one who is being baptized is able to know why it is being done and be accountable for their own sins before God ... However, I do have a story about this five year old son of a Baptist Pastor ...
After watching his dad baptize people at church and hearing his dad preach on being baptized and how different religions do it differently, this young man decided to baptize the family kittens ... The family had three of them, and one Sunday afternoon, after a service of baptism at church, Junior took the three kittens into the bathroom and closed the door ... He then filled the tub with water and took the first kitten in his little hands and pushed it under the water ... The cat came up and the boy said, I baptize you in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit ... The cat ran and hid ... He got the second kitten who was watching the first and started to fight just a tad ... After a little struggle, Junior got the kitten under water and left him up again saying, I baptize you in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit ... And now it is time for the third kitten and this one wanted nothing to do with this ... Junior tried and tried, but the kitten just would not go under. After many scratches on his little arms the boy just sort of gave up, taking the kitten in one hand and taking a handful of water and putting it on the kitten's head ... saying these words ... I baptize you in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and if you want to be a Methodist that's ok with me ...
Ok, so much for the joke today ... But let's take from this lesson today that the important part of the work that John was doing and that we need to be doing in our teaching of others. First we need to repent from our sins ... There is no doubt in my mind that that is the main message that John was teaching, and teaching that it needs to be done sooner and not later ... the reason, for the Lord was coming ... "PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD, MAKE STRAIGHT PATHS FOR HIM." Luke 3: 4 (NIV)
And to make straight paths for Him is to repent of our sins ... Folks, the time might be different but the message about the same ... We should be in the fields of Harvest telling all ... "PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE RETURN OF THE LORD". "Make ready yourself for Jesus is coming back as promised". Yes the times are different, the wording might be a tad different, but when I add this it comes out the same ... "REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR."
And Father in Heaven we ask today that You once again forgive us of our sins, if You would please help us repent, help us to turn from sin and walk away ... Help us teach others about Your return ... Help us on this day we call Salvation Wednesday to be like old John and go into the world and tell of Your coming again ... Help us to tell others about the need to repent, but Lord only after we have repented ... We want to work for You, but we want to be clean when we do, and we what You to show in us, and on us ... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
REPENT AND SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS ... For the return of Jesus is coming, each day brings us a day nearer to going home ... REPENT AND SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS ... Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Prepare The Way
Schools Day, schools day, yes brothers and sisters it is Tuesday and that means it is the day we pray for our schools ... and today as we pray we need to be thinking of ways to Prepare The Way for The Lord in our schools ... Saying that the supreme court took Jesus out of our school is indeed NOT TRUE ... Oh they might have stopped Bible reading in our schools, or even organized prayers, but what has stopped Jesus from being in schools falls right back on US ... yes you and me ... that's what us is ... you and me ...
Dear Father in Heaven, it is schools day on this line, and I do pray for each and every one of our schools world wide ... Lord so often we here in America say our schools started to go down hill when You were put out of our schools, and it is very true that in a lot of cases you were put out, but not by the supreme court of the United States or those who brought it to court ... Lord forgive us, Lord forgive each of us who have not fully trained our children in Jesus before we even sent them to school ... Lord all of us need to be working on keeping You at the head of our schools, but we all must work together on it, not just pray about it and let You do it ... Help us to get a hold of this, and Lord help me to tie the message together today between John the Baptist and our kids going to school ... Lord also please be with Oliver and Sharon and also Bob and Faye and Dolores and Vicki as they struggle with health concerns ... We give You thanks and glory in all the healing that has taken place ... I also pray today for safety on the road for Charles and Janet as they ready to head out for some travel ... Keep them safe dear Lord and return them back home refreshed ... In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
The Big Bus Trip: Prepare The Way: And our buses are on the road again today ... today, schools days we are going to pull the Eagle over and let Danelle and Leann pull those big school buses to the front of the line ... Today I want to take a good look at how we can keep Jesus in our schools ...
John, known to us as John The Baptist, was working for our Lord Jesus early on in the life of Jesus. You will recall that John is about six months older then Jesus. Today we are the ones who need to be working for Jesus ... Now I don't know about you, but I get so tired, really tired of hearing excuses that it is the removal of the prayers and Bible readings that caused our schools to go downhill. And then it all gets blamed on the Supreme Court ... Folks, let's put the blame where it belongs, right on us ... First of all and I want you to follow me on this ... If we still had Bible reading daily in our schools, whose Bible would be used? Would it be our beloved Christian Bible? Or one of the many others ... And if we still had prayers led by teachers and others, who would we be praying to? Jesus ... Or would the prayers just be generic, would they be taught to be praying to a god, instead of The God ... and would the prayers be sent to heaven through Jesus, which is the ONLY WAY THEY GET THERE? Or would the prayers be lifted through a generic source ...
Would the prayer end something like this. In the name of green peace and the old oak tree I pray... Or In the name of recycled cans and bottles I pray... or in the name of the new electric car I pray ... Folks, don't tell me this would not be happening ... So what do we do about it?
First and foremost we need to teach our children about Jesus before they even head out to school, and we need to teach it ahead of counting, and spelling and reading ... The first thing we teach a child to say is daddy or mommy, and after that we should be teaching them to say ... Thank You to Jesus.
How many people who talk about the Bible being pulled out of school has ever sent a bible to school with their child and said to read it as you eat lunch ... Or when your school work is done read it ... Or read it on the school bus ... Folks, Jesus can still be in our schools, and the best way to send Jesus into our schools is to send Him in, in the hearts of our kids and our teachers ... yes our teachers ... And trust me on this one ... we have teachers on this line and they live for Jesus and they do it where they teach ... And kids know who they are ... We have prayer clubs and Christian clubs ... a few years ago Carry The Light Ministries picked up the tab for a school bus that took kids from a local middle school to a church one afternoon a week ... Yes parents had to sign for it, but it was backed by that school board ...
Folks we all need to be a "John The Baptist" and we need our children and our grandchildren being just that in schools ... I remember not too many years ago when our son Keith coached little kids in football ... before each game, we gathered the kids in a huddle and we prayed for the game, not to win but for the kids to be safe and play their best ... There was not one complaint ... not one.
I think most of the complaints, oh I am going to get it for this statement ... I think most of the complaints that come from not having Jesus in our schools, comes from parents who don't even get the kids to Sunday School ... No, you cannot go into school and stand there and read your Bible but you can teach your child about Jesus and they can share it with others ... And you can open your Christian home for your kids' friends ... And dare I ask this one also ... How many of our families where they complain about the Bible reading being removed from schools, sit down with their kids, and read the Bible ... How many sit at the breakfast table and do a short Bible study... just one verse ... How many? Folks, "Put feet on your prayers" (Pamela Bower) and send your kids off to school LOADED WITH JESUS ... and having Jesus in their heart ... And they need to learn it at home ... And when you find teachers that love the Lord, love that teacher even more ... Maybe we need to be signing our names again with a fish sign under them ... Folks, all of us need to be a John The Baptist, and we need to be it ALL THE TIME ...
Sharing your blessings is a good way to get started, and a big help to others ... what you do brothers and sisters, you must do in faith ... do it for Jesus, and through Jesus, and let His light shine in you and your children ... love ya dan
PS, remember to pray for your teachers today... And pray for Big John and Larry ... two of our many Christian teachers on this line ...

Monday: Prepare the way
Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters ... What a great day to be alive and be alive in our Lord Jesus ... May I be so bold to start out this day by saying if you are not alive in Jesus, being "Born Again", then you are not alive at all ... (did I hear an amen)
Today I ask you to pray for Pastor Carol who broke a hip, and also to pray for our leaders, Federal, State, Local, and also please pray for President Elect Obama and his family...
Prepare The Way: As we pull this big bus fleet back on the road today we are no more than out there when we hear this loud, loud voice ... PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD, PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD. What is this, what are we hearing, remember we are back in time, there are no Public Address Systems to voice the sound ... Yet we hear it again and again ... PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD ...
Luke 3: 2b The word of God came to John, son of Zechariah, in the desert. 3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him. 5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. 6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'"
John, who we refer to today as "John The Baptist", was the forerunner of our Lord Jesus. He was out there telling all who would hear him ... "Prepare the way for The Lord", "Prepare the way for The Lord."
Would I dare ask you this question today... How many of you are "Johns" today ... Gosh as I write that statement I come to realize that a few will make something less meaning out of that statement, so I will take time to explain ... How many of you are following the words of Jesus when He told us to take the good news to all corners of the earth? Is that not what John is doing? John is out telling that Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, John is telling of how your sins can be forgiven ... and is that not what we have been commanded to do? ... "PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD". John was telling all, and his word was getting out ... Today we have those Public Address Systems, we have radio, TV and yes this thing I am on called a computer. we have all sorts of tools and we also should be doing the work of our Lord with only a slight change in wording ... Maybe we should be saying. "Prepare the way for the RETURN of The Lord". And folks, like way back then when we were being called to repentance of our sins, it is still the same ... So today I ask you to first prepare yourself for the return of our Lord by praying with me for the forgiveness of sins ... lets do it.
Dear Father, in the name of Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner ... I was a sinner back in my youth and today I am different, I am an older sinner, and I am still saved by Your Grace, Jesus -that still amazes me ... Forgive me today dear Lord, and update me on being clean ... Yes Lord, I am just an old sinner needing a blood bath ... Thanks for doing it ... In the name of Jesus ... Amen.
Tomorrow I will look more at old John and look again at just how much we should be like him ... And how we should be working like he did ... But folks, for now, you can get started and a good way would be to share your blessings in faith ... Love ya, dan.
Today I ask you to pray for Pastor Carol who broke a hip, and also to pray for our leaders, Federal, State, Local, and also please pray for President Elect Obama and his family...

Friday: Working for Jesus!
Up in the morning, out on the job, working for Jesus for no pay! And it feels so, so good.
He (Jesus) said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
Dear brothers and sisters, on this Friday and the day we pray for those who carry out this commandment of our Lord Jesus, I want to ask you to ask your heart this question ... Am I working for Jesus, or just sort of "hanging out" and saying I am ... Working for Jesus is not just living a clean life and loving Him, it is getting involved in taking that good news to others ... And each and everyone of us needs to be doing it.
When we read our Bibles we can find many places where God really commands us to do things ... We so often just think about the ten commandments and then again the two great commandments, but we forget about all the others, and this is just one of them. Next week I will pull those buses back out and travel first with John the Baptist and then with Jesus, but for now, I want to ask you again, are you traveling for Jesus? Our military veterans have a saying that goes something like this. "All gave some and some gave all" when they are talking about those served in the military ... When it comes to our Christian Army, may I just put this quote from me in front of you ... "One gave all and all should give some", but sad to say there are far more people that do not work for Jesus then those that do. And I am just talking about those of us who say we are Christians ... Think about it, think about your church and the flock at your church, do you let most of the work there up to a few? I answer that for you, Yes you do ... When in fact each and every person who attends a church should also be on board doing something in their mission work ... And I am not just talking about singing in the choir, which I think is important, but I am talking about going into the fields of Harvest ... For those who are in a flock, and if, and that can be a big if, if that church has a really good pastor who is born again, he can attend to that flock ... but the flock needs to get into the fields ...
I will get into trouble for saying this one, but all too many people get attached to "their seat" in a church ... You come in, and you see the same person in the same seat week after week ... Tell me I am wrong on this, I would love to hear that. Each and every person in a church setting should have outside duties for Jesus ... and they do not need to be sponsored by that church ...
So brothers and sisters, let me just give you a few examples of some things you might do to work for Jesus ... Do you know that seniors in retirement homes often do not get visitors, and often their eyes do not let them read the Bible anymore ... How wonderful it would be if once a week you went to a retirement home and read your Bible to someone, or did a Bible study.. Now I think about the senior community as that is where Dolores and I head with Pam and Carry The Light Ministries, but there are prisons, schools, yes I said schools, for most now have Christians Clubs ... There are clubs, gyms, food banks, food pantries, soup kitchens, and I could go on and on ... In fact you could even pick up trash along our highways ... Put on shirts that tell folks you are cleaning up for Jesus ...
This is what I am talking about ... So many people sit in church watching their watch, and it amazes me that we do not have car crashes on church parking lots as people speed getting off the lot ...
Now the very best way to get started working for Jesus is praying for your assignment and then listening to where God wants you to go ... Please remember this, when He sends you, He will open the doors and He will furnish all the tools you need for the job ... Folks once you get started in these fields, God will expand them for you ... Speaking again from doing, I remember putting out my first street sign for Jesus at a service station ... What, a message from God at a service station? Then it was on to riding cycle with the Christian groups and learning to talk to the other groups ... Then off to singing, and then we added teaching and preaching, and a food bank. Folks I am not looking for rewards on what we do, I am just telling you there is a job in these fields for each of you ... each and everyone of you ... So today I want to just repeat this commandment of our Lord Jesus.
Mark 16: 15 He (Jesus) said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
Please remember that your neighborhood, your community, your city are all part of the world that Jesus is talking about, and the folks that live there are part of that creation ... If you truly love your neighbor and truly care about them, you will want to see them saved, see them born again ...
Dear Father in Heaven, please bless us with the knowledge we need to go to the fields and get to work for You, also help us to move that product we call lead that has formed in the seat of our pants out of that area so we can get up off the chair and go working for You ... Lord today we are expecting an assignment ... And Lord we in Carry The Light are looking for more places to go and sing the gospel ... Open doors as we call please. Lord keep all Your workers safe in the fields, and help us as we go to know when it does become time to dust our feet and move on ... Lord help us get into studies we need to do Your work ... Lord, help us ... And Lord thanks for the good results on Beverly and also Blanch, and now we ask that You heal our beloved Pastor Carol who has broken a hip ... Bless this worker of You, and heal her to be back in the fields ... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Now go forth working those fields, and yes, sharing your blessings in faith. Sharing what God has given you is one way to be working for Jesus ... So why not start today by sharing those blessings? love ya , dan ... Have a blessed weekend.

Thursday: King of all kings
Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters ... I want to take a break in our journey this morning and talk about Jesus, the one and only real King ... I bring this up today as it is the anniversary of the birth of Elvis Presley ... who by the way, makes more money while deceased as most of us do working.
Called the king of rock and roll, and notice I used that small k, there are a lot of people who worshiped him I am sure ... Personally I like his music and we use some of Elvis Presley's back tracks for singing some of our hymns in our last set at concerts ... Yes, we close each concert at retirement homes with those old hymns, those I call the meat and potatoes hymns, and we sing for the King, on the king's tracks (with permission). When I watch some of the old concert trips I see how a lot of women really went nuts over this guy ... and folks this happens even today ... In fact I watch as a young man named Dennis who sings with "Special Friends" does his Elvis thing at the Bridges, and let me tell you the senior women still go nuts ... (must be something in those hips). Folks, how many of you know that most of his back-up singers were "gospel singers"? I truly believe that Elvis did love our Lord Jesus, and I know that he had roots in the Assembly of God church.
If you want to hear some good singing of the gospel, you might want to go to ebay and see if you can find some these great discs ... "Elvis Presley Amazing Grace and/or Elvis Presley How Great Thou Art". I mean this man could sing and his music lives on this day ... But folks, may I caution you that Elvis or all the other singers who might be at the top of their game, are not the King ... Jesus is King.
Revelation 17:14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, we should only worship one, and that is Jesus our Lord, who is King, and He is above all other kings, and He is Lord and He is above all other Lords ... and I want you to all remember this today ... Elvis Presley had a lot of talent, and it was on loan from God ...
God for whatever reason, CALLED IN THE LOAN! We thank God for his music that remains with us this day, but I for one, only bow down to one person, and to nothing else ... Jesus is my King, and I love Him ...
Today is Thursday and that means it is family day on this line ... and Today I ask for prayer for Beverly Orner who is having tests done and also for Blanch Shambaugh who is having some surgery ... Also for families ... and folks, please if you have not done this already, please make your family part of the family of God and folks, MEN, it needs to start with you as you head up your family ... and LADIES, if your husband will not do this, or if you are a single parent, it is up to You to get this done.
Father in Heaven, thank You for being our King, the head of all kings, and the head of my family. Lord bless families today and bless Beverly and also Blanch ... be with them at the hospitals ... and Lord thanks again for blessing this line ... and Lord may all who use the line and the blog be part of Your family, the family of God ... In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings ... "Thank you very much", love ya, dan .

Wednesday: Jesus, becoming a teenager
Salvation Wednesday and a really good day to pray for all the unsaved ... Pray today that God uses us all to lead people to His feet to be saved. I want you to be real clear about something, you and I work for Jesus, we go and plant seeds of Love, Grace, Trust, and Salvation on minds of others, but we, hear me on this, we cannot save them. I might get in trouble from some for saying this, but I must put it out there ... I have been to churches where salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ is not even mentioned, no sign of an altar call as we often call them when a pastor gives a call for salvation at the end of a service ... Yet many times I have been to churches and also gospel concerts and have even seen those TV shows with Billy Graham and Benny Hinn and have even been to a service of Benny Hinn.
Once in a while I will hear someone, sometimes someone from the church, or the gospel group say something like this ... What a great service we had, a hundred people came forward and were saved.
Folks when it comes to salvation we are not to judge others, and that means both ways. We should not be saying so and so is not going to heaven, or in cases like this we should not be saying they came forward so they are saved ... Now brothers and sisters if we know those who have come forth we might after a few weeks or months be able to tell if they have taken Jesus into their hearts as their lifestyle will make a change ... A person cannot go from not knowing Jesus to knowing Him on a personal relationship and not see a change in that person.
I just needed to point that out on our Salvation Wednesday so that we know where we stand, we are workers in the fields of Harvest for Jesus. Jesus is the Savior, the one and only one ...
Dear Heavenly Father please help us this day to work for You and help to bring people to Your feet so that You may save them according to Your will. Lord help us to help You by opening doors for us in those fields ... Lord lead us to the Lost ... Lord please keep blessing this line, thanks for the blessings each day and the message each day ... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Jesus, becoming a teenager 2: Yesterday I asked you to please read Luke 2: 41/52 and I talked about what it might be like if we left a child behind like Mary and Joseph left Jesus behind in Jerusalem. Today I want to look at what happened when He was found.
Luke 2: 46 After three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard Him was amazed at His understanding and His answers. 48 When His parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to Him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you." 49 "Why were you searching for me?" He asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" (NIV)
Ok, let me look at this part just a tad ... After leaving Him behind, cutting out of town without their son and only missing Him after a day, and then taking another day to go back and even into the third day to find Him, they were worried ... Oh yes, but they should have had enough concern to have checked on Him before they left town ... But I talked about all of that yesterday ... Right now I want to put this conversation that occurred between Mary and her Son Jesus ... to my mother Margaret and her son Daniel ... Folks, did Jesus "talk back" to His mother here? Let me tell you that if my mother would have been looking for me for whatever reason, and made a statement to me about being worried, and I would have said to her "Why were you searching for me? Didn't you know where I would be?" With that statement out of my mouth to my mother, I would have been slapped right across my big mouth ... and if my dad would have heard it, I would have gotten the slap by my mother and my backside warmed up a lot by Pop ... Now I am sure that Jesus might not have meant this the way it sounded, but according to my bible, it sounded a little like back talking and I went back to the King James Bible and it sounds the same way. I would love for you folks to weigh in on that one ...
Now the Bible does go on to say this in verse 50 But they did not understand what He was saying to them. (NIV) I would think that Jesus was thinking that they would know everything that was between Him and our Father, His Father in Heaven. And as we all know, regardless of how much we read and study our Bible, how many Bible studies we attend, how many sermons we preach or hear, we just will not understand it all until we get home to be with Jesus. We must remember we have a faith based religion, and our relationship, our personal relationship with Jesus, is also based on faith between Jesus and us ... But with all that said, at the very least a statement like that would have me eating some good old soap ... And I know this for a fact, this is not based on faith, I know this one first hand, or should I say, "right hand".
Just for the record, I do not think Jesus would sass His mother, but it sure did sound like it ... Of course some people think Jesus would never get mad, and that all will make heaven ... well we will talk about that later on, on this big, big bus trip ...
Time to tell you to remember to share your blessings, for indeed if you do and do it in faith, you will be blessed even more ... Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Jesus, becoming a teenager
School Days, School Days, dear old golden rule days. Reading and writing and arithmetic, taught to the tune of a hickory stick ... ah, those good old days, and we really learned a lot ... Reading, writing, and arithmetic, we call the "three R's". No wonder I was confused ...
Dear Brothers and sisters, today is Tuesday, and that means it is schools' day on this line ... and brothers and sisters, please pray for seven year old Sasha Obama and ten year old Malia Obama as they start their new school in Washington DC. Folks, regardless of who you favored in the election, we now need to unite behind our new leaders (as told to us in the Bible) and we do need to pray for our "First Family Elect". For sure we do not just elect a president; we have elected a family ... I watched as those little girls were loaded into those big SUV's with armor plate on them, and put in a motorcade to take them to school, and while they might like it now, is sure sounds scary to me ... Think of how you would like it be it you at that age (yes think way back, way, way, way back) or if it were your children ...
Now while our Secret Service puts them in those armor plate vehicles, let us put the armor of protection around them in prayer ... and let's do it right now ... no putting it off.
Dear Father in Heaven, we are so blessed in this nation, for the United States of America is a great country, but Lord, there are those who hate us, and even go as far as hating the children of our presidents and/or president elects ... Lord today I ask that You put armor around these girls, around Sasha and Malia, and around their mother Michelle, and their father also ... Lord protect this family ... Lord, while most kids climb aboard a big yellow bus, these kids must be taken by very special transportation and have special protection ... Lord, again, please bless them ... And Lord I pray today for all of our schools, from preschool to schools of higher education. Lord bless all who go through the doors... Lord bless each and everyone and Lord as far as we on this line are concerned, you are welcome in our schools, all of them ... Also, Lord, be with Jackie King and the rest of the family of John (Bob) King who is now with You ... In the name of Jesus I pray ... Amen.
Jesus becoming a teenager: Yes we are still on the bus trip and are now looking at Jesus when He was but twelve ... Think about it, that is just two years older than the oldest Obama daughter. Think about what they might have in common, I am thinking about how some would want to hurt them even at that age ... We know that people wanted to kill Jesus, and I would think that the girls will need protection around the clock ...
Today I am looking at and working from Luke 2: 41/52 and it would be nice if you would read those scriptures for yourself. Luke 2: 41 Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. 42 When He was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. 43 After the Feast was over, while His parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking He was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for Him among their relatives and friends. (NIV)
Ok, lets digest that much for today. Lets fast forward to today. You take your family and you go on an outing to another town, something that you might do each year. You take along your children, one who might be 12 years old ... When it comes time to come home you leave without your child. WHAT!! Oh my gosh is this where they got the idea for the "Home Alone" movies ... Think about it, if you did this today, if you were to leave a city or town and not miss your child for a day, and you did not get back for a couple of days to look for them you might just get locked up ... I am sure you would have a visit from the people who check on kids, in our area named "Children and Youth".
I mean when Dolores and I leave the house we take a doggie count, just to make sure they are all in the house ... and that one is not left out in the dog yard ... although they would still be safe in the dog yard ... And brothers and sisters, if this did happen, lets say you have a large family and you are in two different cars, you are driving one and your spouse is driving another ... You think each other has your, well let's say your son. When you get to the first rest stop and all get out, you and your spouse are talking and you start thinking, where is Martin. Then you ask your spouse, have you seen Martin? No, I thought he was with you ... and the panic starts ... first you check the car for a sleeping child, then the rest stop, and then that call to 911 to report him missing ... The police show up to take a report ... and you say, we misplaced our child. Folks how awful this would be ... I think most of us would be watching over our children at all times ... but I know it does not always happen ... Just this weekend in Harrisburg a three year old was playing on the walk in front of his house, and he went onto the road and was hit and killed. Where were the parents, and on the news they interviewed neighbors who said "that child plays there often" WHERE ARE THE PARENTS? And why would not a neighbor talk to someone about this if seeing a three year old playing outside unattended? I would think we were worried about it ... I want you to really think about this side of the story.
How could Mary, who God found favor in, who as a virgin was chosen to carry our Lord Jesus in her womb, and Joseph, the one chosen to be the earthly father of our Lord Jesus, forget their Son? Wow. No one new where he was ... As a parent and I know this has happened to me, you are at a park or in a store, and all at once you find one of your children missing ... They were there just a moment ago ... You are in full panic right away ... You run up and down the store if you are in a store ... You head to the toy section. You should have a meeting place ... I remember as a child, my mother would tell me if I got separated from her in a store to go to the door, but do not go out ... wait at the door ... Folks, always have a meeting place if you get separated from each other ... remember the children do not get lost, their parents do ... Tomorrow we are going to look at what happened to Jesus, and when found, what happened ... Was Jesus rude to His mother? Be back tomorrow and see what this old man thinks about that ...
Now go forth sharing your blessings, and please do it in faith, for you will be blessed over and over again ... and know this ... You are loved, by many and it includes Jesus and yes, I love ya also. dan
