Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
Good start of July, and the Independence Day Holiday, which falls on July 4th. Let me roll back in time and give you a driving safety lesson today for all of those who just might be going on the road for a trip across their country, state or just around the block. First, get your mind ready and STAY OFF THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING. Better yet, sit on the phone. Don't drink, not even one little drop of beer or other booze type drink and drive. Get enough rest that you are alert, and please check a few things on your car before you head out. Check the tire pressure in all the tires. Low tires rob you of gas mileage and also cause tires to overheat and blowout. Over inflated tires are not good either. From my years in the garage, I have found what works best for me, is the maximum amount of air according to what is written on the tire. Check the oil, and if you check it please make sure your car is on flat ground. Also check the power steering and brake fluids. Engine, power steering and brake fluid levels along with tire pressures get checked with the car turned off. Oh, and remember there should be a tire in the trunk that needs air also. Most cars need to be running and warm to check the automatic transmission fluid. Other fluid levels, take your car to a garage where your service person is trusted.
Also check your lights, and when it comes to checking your turn signals, you need to have the key turned on... and those stop lights. You put your foot on the brake, jump out of the car and run as hard as you can around the back to see if the lights are on... Just kidding. Either use the buddy system or back it up to a garage door with glass windows in it. Also to check the backup lights, you need the key on and in reverse. (See why the engine should NOT BE RUNNING) Ok car check, driver check, cell phone put away... Seat belted in, and remember to check that fuel gauge. Be sure the windshield is clean and one last thing... PRAY FOR A SAFE TRIP... AND when you return home safe, remember to say THANK YOU JESUS...
He Knows Me, and He knows You... 2 Timothy 2:19 - Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." (NIV)
I am still in amazement of how God knows us from before we were born to keeping a record of us and even knowing how many hairs we have on our head. But at the same time it is scary and it should be scaring the socks off of us. Brothers and sisters, you have heard me say often that you need a good church so that you have the teaching of a good pastor and other solid believers in your circle of friends... Please note that I say you need a good church, for so many churches and pastors have drifted from the complete truth. Bill O'Reilly has a show on Fox News that is called the No Spin Zone and he tells folks that the spin stops here and points at himself. Well, let me tell you that so many people in churches and church leaders are pushing addends' that just cannot be backed up the Bible. Gay partners, gay marriage, openly gay pastors, when does it end... Let me tell you it will all end when our Lord God has had enough and I think the time is coming soon.
In our scripture today it tells us that God's foundation is solid and stands firm. It is solid and stands firm, yet so many have tried to spin it. So many sins and sometimes and I think we are all guilty of it from time to time that some sins to God we might not think of as sins. God's foundation is firm and to the point, Love God and Love your neighbors. And confess yourself over to God and please remember that last line of the scripture today. Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord MUST TURN AWAY from wickedness. Note it does not say should turn away, or should try and turn away, it tells us we MUST TURN AWAY. We need to repent of our sins and not try and just spin them away. I know I should not have been looking at that lady with the low cut dress, but she was wearing it for us to look...
The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 4:3 - For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. (NIV)
It tells us in these scriptures that the time will come and I believe it is here now, that people will go to those churches and gather with folks who might preach and teach what they want to hear. People seem to want to be told, that's ok, those things were for the days gone by, things are different now.
No, No, folks, God knows us, He knows you and me, and He, folks, listen to me here. GOD DID NOT CHANGE THE RULES, His rules are not going before a court. God's rules are firm and we need to get it together and stand firm with Him... Remember if you are not with God 100% of your time then you are not with God. If you are standing with God, you need to turn away from wickedness, and sometimes it is hard to do. God is not changing to please us, please remember me telling you this today. GOD IS NOT CHANGING TO PLEASE US, we need to change to please Him... Someone say amen on that one. It is worth saying again and let me stand it alone.
"God is not changing to please us, we need to change to please Him." He knows us, He loves us, and He died for us... and now He is waiting for us to change, confess Him and then stay on board with Him... GOD IS GOOD...
"God is not changing to please us, we need to change to please Him."
Dear Father in Heaven, I want to make that change today, I want to start living day and night to please You. I do not expect You to change and I know I need to change to come into line with You. I know You know me from the top of my head to the tip of my toe, and now, Lord, I want to know You the same way. Help me, Lord, help us, Lord... And Lord, help our ministry with our food bank project, some foods are getting very low. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth, have a safe and wonderful Independence Day, and remember that your personal freedom comes from and through Jesus. Our freedom here in this great country has been protected by the past and present members of our military... If you see a veteran or one of our present military take time to say thank you... And stop now and thank God for Jesus, and share His blessings. Be safe, love God, share blessings. And remember I love ya. Pastor Dan.
