November 15, 2010 God Still Heals (Day 1)

In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the Lord says: 'Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, "remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with whole hearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.'"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and old Santa and Mrs. Claus are in full running gear. Booked everyday but Mondays at Allenberry Playhouse and Resort Inn. I also went to the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey Pa. (161 Museum Drive Hershey Pa. 17033) where I emptied the pickup truck for the first time this year. We have been gifted a lot of food, and a lot of toys including about 200 homemade wooden toys and they are beautiful. God is good. In the meantime we are building our Christmas list of those needing food. While this is a special day of giving the food, and very rewarding, we do have families coming weekly now.

I have prayed to God about writing and teaching on Healing. So God has answered the prayers and I will be writing this week and next right up to Thanksgiving Eve. I will be preaching on healing next Sunday at the Bridges and then on Thanksgiving Eve a service of communion, and anointing for healing. Remember on Mondays we pray for our leaders and our military and all those who work to keep us safe and healthy. With the service of healing coming I am asking if you would center your prayers on these two young men who have Cerebral Palsy.

Michael Miller is 41 and the son of Dennis and Donna Funk, Michael has Cerebral Palsy.

Patrick Herman is 20 and the son of Rick and Michele Herman. Patrick has Cerebral Palsy and also Scoliosis. Patrick is facing back surgery with rods to be put in. This surgery will be done at the DuPont Children's Hospital.

Also as we pray for our veterans please remember that we have veterans coming home from war who have very serious injuries, who have lost limbs, and some who just might be in veterans hospitals all their life. Please remember we are a Nation at War.

God Still Heals: (Day One) - 2 Kings 20:1 - In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the Lord says: 'Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover. 2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 "remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with whole hearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 4 Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: 5 Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.'" On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of of the Lord. 6 I will add fifteen years to your life. (NIV)

Psalm 6:1 - O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. 2 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint. O Lord, heal me for my bones are in agony. 3 My soul is in anguish, How long, O lord, how long? (NIV)

Dear brothers and sisters, over the next few days I will talk about healing and I will point out to you where I find this in the Bible. As you know, I believe all that is in the Bible, from the very beginning to the very end of this wonderful book of books. We will look in the old testament as we are today and we will walk with Jesus as He heals and we will look at the scriptures where He gives us instructions on praying for healing and who should pray with us. There are still people today that believe that the Bible was for then and this is now. Not so, folks and this scripture, which I use often, will point it right out to you...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)

Yes, and that should be a comfort to all of you for indeed our Lord healed when He walked the earth and I am sure, 100% sure, He is still in the healing business today. We must have faith, and we must pray that it is God's will. Now let's dig into those scriptures that I wrote out for you.
We see in the first part of the scripture that Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, went to him and said, "This is what the Lord says: 'Put your house in order, because you are going to die.'" It seems that the prophet Isaiah was sort of like the middle man between God and Hezekiah. Isaiah was given the word that Hezekiah was going to pass. God gave a warning, get your place in order, get your things together.

About a year or so ago I received a call from a gentlemen whose wife resides at The Bridges in the Garden section. This is a dementia unit and a really good one I might add. Anyway the husband called me and said his wife was given just a few days to live and he and his daughters wanted to talk to me about doing the service. A funeral director was contacted. I went to The Bridges and bedside with the family. I anointed this wonderful lady with oil and was starting to pray for her, and to release her to God as the family requested I do. First please note that we are in God's hands, but releasing them is a term I use so a family can get ready for this. Anyway, I anointed her in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and leaned down real near her and could hear this faint singing. She was singing Amazing Grace just as clear as clear could be, word for word. I prayed and prayed and then sang with her. Over and over again she sang. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, and as I asked God to heal her I could hear Him speak to my heart. I am not done with her on earth yet. So when done praying I turned to the family and told them this. I believe God is not done with her here on earth, He is not ready for her yet in heaven. Each week this lady sits in the front row in church, with her husband holding her hand, it is so dear and wonderful. Just before she had turned ill and they thought she was going home I did a remarriage service and they got re-married. Now as she sits in the front row she is singing right with me. She does not say a lot and if she shakes your hand and says good morning that is a blessing. A few weeks ago I was in the back of church before it started greeting some people, Dolores was playing the piano and she stood up (she is in a wheel chair most of the time), turned around and was singing like she was leading the song Dolores was playing. Folks, I feel God is even working on her memory. Folks, God is good, and God still heals, please never give up. I will tell you other examples of healing this week, both from the Bible and also from some that we have prayed for on this line. GOD CAN HEAL YOU, OR YOUR FAMILY OR BOTH, HE CAN TAKE AWAY YOUR SINS AND THAT IS A GOOD STARTING PLACE. Heal your heart first... I don't know why God heals one and not the other but will someday find that out. If we go back to the scripture and look at it some more we find this...

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, "remember, O Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with whole hearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. We see in this scripture that Hezekiah turned to the wall and prayed to the Lord, I would think just burying his face in the wall and talking to God... and Hezekiah reminded God that he was a good guy, he lived for God. He told God he was faithful and devoted to God and had done what was good in the eyes of the Lord. And he wept bitterly.

Have you ever laid it out to God in prayer? Have you lived for God? Can you remind God of your good living or are you one who always needs those prayers for forgiveness of your sins? Brothers and sisters, we do need to repent, I believe that is a good way to start when we are asking for healing. So let's take a minute right now and pray to be forgiven.. I cannot pray it for you, so in faith will you please pray with me...

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins, and Lord, help me repent. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, now I ask and all on the line ask that You please heal, please please heal those young men with Cerebral Palsy and touch them. Straighten out the spine of Patrick who needs the surgery to pull him straight. Anoint the doctors, dear Lord, or heal Patrick before the doctors can get to him. Lord, please, please heal our wounded warriors, those coming home from wars with many injuries, and Lord, I cry out for healing for my dear wife as her spine is also twisted with Scoliosis as is Patrick's. Lord, thanks for healing Peggy Everhard, the lady at The Bridges and thanks for the support she gets from her husband, Bob, and Lord, thanks for the inspiration that comes to me from you, through her... Again we direct our prayers through our Lord Jesus, who is the only way to the Father... Amen.

Yes, folks, pray through Jesus for He is the only way to The Father (John 14:6). And go forth now walking in faith that God will hear all your prayers and remember this, God heals many times in our lives when we are protected from getting sick. God heals us in advance. Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
