Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. All glory and honor to You for another really great day. Your love is felt in all we do, and once we really focus on You it becomes clearer and clearer. Please, Lord, be with the upcoming elections as it is getting nasty. Please help those running really draw on You and not just say it. Lord, please forgive me of any sins or sinful thinking that I have done recently known or unknown to me. Please help me with the daily message and then to get it dispatched. Please bless the John Paul Scott Community Church and their Garden ministry. Please keep Your hand upon our friends Charles and Janet. Also be with Doug as he travels. Thanks again, Lord, for the great test results on Dolores. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I just want to talk to you a little today about one of God's great promises or covenants that He has made to all of us. This one today is just one of so many. It is about the "Rainbow!"
Thursday: April 21, 2016: A Promise from God
Dear brothers and sisters, when God found favor in Noah and asked him to build the Ark with his family, Noah was old, not a spring chicken so to speak. In fact in the Bible, Genesis 7:6 - Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth. (NIV)
And we know how Noah and his wife and his three sons and their wives worked on the Ark. And sometimes today people do not want to work at twenty and think they should all get free college, etc. You did not see Noah telling God that He wanted $15.00 an hour or they would not go to work. They just went to work for the Lord and the Lord furnished everything. But make no mistake, those six had to work. And I really love this. Now remember the age of Noah and his family and when the rain stopped and the waters went down, well, this is what was said to them:
Genesis 9:1 - Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth." (NIV)
Now even at our young age, I don't think I would want to start again with a baby, even if we could. So when we look back in the Bible we find how some people just loved and trusted God and all the others were lost. But God made a covenant with Noah and here it is.
Genesis 9:12-17 - And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." 17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between Me and all life on the earth." (NIV)
Yes, there are still floods, and yes, sadly they are still taking lives. However, God has promised never to wipe out the earth again with water. While I think God would never forget anything, in this case He even set a reminder up for Himself. Even to this day one of the most beautiful things we can see is that rainbow that is set in the sky. Once in awhile we even see a double rainbow. This rainbow sign or colors are used for so many things and I for one get sick and tired of seeing how it is being used for some things that are so wrong. When riding motorcycle for the Lord there was a group called the "Rainbow Warriors" who witnessed for God and told about the rainbow. Some even had the rainbow painted on the cycle. But when I see the gay pride events where the rainbow colors are used, I must wonder, is there any one of them who really knows the REAL TRUTH ABOUT THE RAINBOW?
The other day at an event that was held here in Harrisburg, I saw an American flag with just the stars showing, the rest in rainbow colors and being used in the event on the Capitol steps. While God tells us we need to love everyone, and I feel I do, I still do not believe we should use the Covenant of God, the Rainbow, for such things.
As I have told all of you before, I believe in The Word of God as recorded in our Bibles from the beginning to the end. To me, this would be like if I would take my Bible, close it and pitch it across the room causing all the pages to rip out. I have a Bible laying on my desk that is worn out and falling apart from use; but the Word in it goes on forever. I just can't bring myself to throw it out. It was the first Bible that I really started to use and they become like a good friend as you underline things and even write some notes in them. So the next time you see the "Rainbow" in the sky you can say to yourself or others, "THERE IS A SIGN FROM GOD." Amen.
Now go forth and share God's love and this covenant with others. And know that God loves you. Love ya.

Standing on the Promises (R. Kelso Carter)
Standing on the promises of Christ, my King!
Thro' eternal ages let His praises ring.
Glory in the highest I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing, standing, standing on the
Promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing --
I'm standing on the promises of God.
Oh, yes, I am, are you?
Standing, standing, standing on the
Promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing --
I'm standing on the promises of God.
