he shall not eat."
Good Family day Thursday, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, schools day and families day on this line and we sure do need to be praying for both today. Please pray for our families for they indeed are falling apart. All too many sperm donors instead of husbands and fathers in the families, and all too many loose women who in a lot of cases have more babies just to get more welfare dollars. Folks, as you know, I try and tell it as God gives it to me, and even with that said, I tell it the way I see some of these things. Pray, warriors, pray for families. And folks, if people would just get solid with the Family of God, all else will work out.
As we pray today for families and schools, please pray also for Baby Boy Noah who has cancer, and also for this nation. It seems today that we have a lot of people hanging out in parks across this land, protesting for whatever. These people need to go home, get a shower and go GET A JOB. How would you like to be one who goes to work daily, works really hard, and you try to get out of your home to find people "going" on your lawn or property that you have worked so hard for, and they think you should share it with them? You go to work, work hard and then give most of it to them so they can SIT IN A PARK AND BEAT A DRUM ALL NIGHT SO YOU CAN'T SLEEP. Our Lord Jesus did not, does not and will not condone this type of living. This is
not loving God or loving your neighbor, this is pure hate.
Promises Day 9: 2 Thessalonians 3:10 - Even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, in the most part I have been writing about the promises of God that are, well, good for us, they are all positive. But God also made promises that deal with other things, things some do not want to hear about or talk about. Like the scripture of today. Very clearly it tells us this. If a man will not work, then the man should not eat. Now let me be very, very clear about this, we need to take care of the poor and the needy, those who CANNOT WORK, and there are many people out there who have been born with handicaps that prevent them from holding jobs, we have a lot of veterans who have been wounded in battle and who cannot work, and yes, some from accidents, etc. We need to take care of them, we need to help them all we
can. In doing this, oftentimes we have people who say they are disabled and we need to help them, no questions asked. God will sort it out in the end.
But today I did want to point out to those who might just be caught up in the ongoing money one could live on without going to work. I had one person who I know very well tell me this. "I know the system and how to use it."
Listen to this scripture:
2 Thessalonians 3:6 - In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you 8 nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we
worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. (NIV)
This scripture tells us as clearly as it gets, we need to be working for our Lord in all we do, even when it comes to getting a meal. So today as we look in the mirror I want all of us to ask ourselves, are we working for God, are we setting an example to others as to the way the Lord wants us to live for Him? I want you to think about this and you can quote me on this one, I say it often in prayer in the morning and today I am going to put it out as a quote from me... Yes, I have used it before... Here it is... "Lord, you have given me another day, may I give it back to You, by living to please You in all I do." And of course by now you know my other quote of the day... "Please go forth and share your blessings."
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You and yes, Lord, You have given us another day and I would like to give it back to You by living for You and to please You in all that I do. Thanks for the message of today and thanks for forgiving our sins, my sins, Lord. In the name of Jesus I ask that You answer our prayers according to Your will for us. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now "Please go forth sharing your blessings" and remember this... "Lord, you have given me another day, may I give it back to You, by living for You and to please You in all I do." Folks, I love ya... Pastor Dan.
