Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. I must tell you that something happened to my computer and everything is being typed in very, very small letters so small I can hardly see them. I don't know what changed it or how to change it back. Anyone want to walk me through it, send me some directions. I am computer stupid. So please pray for me and my machine today. Pray also today for Billie Jo and her family as her mother went home to Jesus. Please keep praying for Baby Boy Noah who has cancer, and also for our son Matthew, we have not heard from him for a while, and that is not a good thing.
Monday is also the day we pray for our President and all of our leaders, and also for our veterans, our current military, our police and firefighters, and all those whose lives and work is keeping others safe and healthy. Remember in those prayers people like LeaAnne, Marge, Tina, James, and many, many others who work in retirement homes.
Promises Day 6: Deuteronomy 11:13/15 13 - So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today to love the Lord your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. 15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied. (NIV)
I know I have written on Promises for a week, but there are so many of them in the Bible it would be such a shame to stop with just giving you a few of them. Let's get started by taking a look at the headlines in today's paper and see how the Governor of Pennsylvania Thomas Corbett has broken one of his campaign promises already. No new taxes and he even signed a pledge, but yet he is putting a fee on the drilling for gas in the shale banks of Pennsylvania.
You can count on two things, politicians will break their promises and God will not.
Check the promises in the scripture of today. First it tells us if we faithfully obey the commands to love the Lord your God and to serve Him... Let me stop right there and tell you that while God promises us a lot of things, sometimes we do not uphold our end of the deal or our end of the
promises. Like this one, it tells us if we FAITHFULLY OBEY THE COMMANDS. So let me start out by asking all of us, yes you and also myself, do we FAITHFULLY obey the commands of God? Faithfully would mean all the time, ALL THE TIME, not every now and then or when we want something from God. When we want a prayer answered really badly, can we tell God, God, I have faithfully obeyed all your commands. Can we pray like that? Well, we could but remember God already knows if we did or not, so please do not add lying to God as you pray. Better to start off your prayers by saying, Lord, I have sinned and need forgiven.
Ok, let's look at the promises from this scripture if we would be faithful. He would send rain on our lands in the spring and in the fall so that we would have grain to gather and our wine would be better. This rain will also provide grass in the fields for our cattle and yes, look at the last
part. We will eat and be satisfied.
What God is saying is if we love Him, and obey Him, He will take care of us. HE WILL FURNISH OUR NEEDS. EVERY NEED SUPPLIED, FOLKS, all of them, all our needs supplied. Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, I confess I am a sinner and I confess I do not always follow your commands, it seems sometimes I put other things ahead of You and I need to repent from that, so help me with it, Lord, help me with it, Lord. And Lord, even though I have not always been faithful to You, You have always been there for me. I love You, Lord, but sometimes my actions do not show it. Forgive me, Lord, and please, Lord, today look over our prayer list and
act on it according to Your will. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth, sharing your blessings and living for Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
