December 6, 2010 Mr. Don Key

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God, It is He who made us and we are His; we are his people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Wow, what a great Saturday of packing, our basement garage was just filled with food and people packing it. Many from this line were there and I am asking if they would send me a note and tell me if they had fun working for the Lord at that packing party. We had hot dogs to eat, but most never stopped working to eat, just kept moving on, and some remained to the end, two even staying to break up boxes and help load them in a trailer so they would not blow away. I was overwhelmed with Joy. I have several prayer requests that have come in and I must work them up for tomorrow. Today, please pray for our president and our leaders in Washington, our state houses, and local governments. Also, please, please pray for our troops and all those who work hard to keep us safe and healthy... our veterans, our troops, our police, firefighters, and all those medical workers including those who ride the skies in those medical choppers, and ride the ambulances. And include your doctors also. And please pray for my dear wife Mrs. Claus, as she is really bad... we are off to the doctors this morning first thing.

Mr. Don Key: Hi, my name is Don Key, or you may just call me donkey for short. I want to just talk about my family from way back and tell you about them. You know, folks, how you like to look back over your family tree, well so do I. Some of you might have folks in your family tree from our Native American brothers and sisters that were first to America while others come from all over. Well, let me tell you a tad bit about my great, great, great, great, well, you are getting the picture, my family from way back in the days of Jesus. But before I really get started, did you like my Psalm I picked today? It is the 100th Psalm and here it is again broken down by verse.

Psalm 100:1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God, It is He who made us and we are His; we are his people, the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. 5 For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (NIV)

Let's take a minute to shout for joy, you do it your way and I will do it my way... HEEEE HAW... well, anyway, I tried... Go ahead you just Shout PRAISE THE LORD A FEW TIMES.

You see it was one of my family who carried Mary across the desert when Jesus was in her belly, or I guess I should say womb. Yes, after that man put out the call for all man to be taxed (boy that never stopped, they still tax my feed and hay and my owner pays taxes on my barn, would you believe that? See just like Jesus some things don't change.) Well, anyway, let me tell you about my family member that got the call to carry the Lord the first time. You know it was cold out there in the desert at night and hot in the daytime, most people only think of it on the night we arrived, but it really took some time to get all that distance. While us donkeys like to run, sometimes back then all my great, great, great, oh you get the picture, had to go slow and smooth so as not to knock Mary off my back as she was just sitting sideways on my back... oops, you see, I am getting so excited I am talking just like it was me carrying Mary and Jesus. Anyway, Joseph, he was the man that was the owner of my great, great, great, well, let me just say again, my old, old grandpa. He liked us donkeys and took care of them really good, gave them lots to eat, good hay and other stuff and always had a warm place to sleep, why I remember one time my relations would tell of eating Manna from Heaven... Oh, I am getting away from my tale, speaking of tales, I wish people would stop with that silly game of pin the tail on me, as it hurts...

One thing about us in the Don Key family is we are sure footed, meaning we can do amazing things as we walk, we are a soft ride and can walk on the edge of things, and well, more than likely, that is why one of us was picked for the ride as Mary needed it smooth. Besides that you do know there were no big Six Door Caddy Limos back in those days, but boy, do those old ones ride smooth today. I know, as I know this guy who has an old one. Anyway, we were picked for that ride and I want to tell you about it in detail, but guess what, you must wait till tomorrow as it is time now to pray see you tomorrow, Hee Haw, Hee Haw... that means bye, bye... (or hello).

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for letting me take a look at what it might have been like to be the donkey back then and today. Help me with this story that you planted on my mind. Lord, I have a lot of prayer requests in and I just have not got them posted this morning but you know them and I pray You would look at them and act on them according to Your will. Lord, please be with our President and with his wife and those two girls, and please be with all of our leaders. Lord, protect our troops and bless them and our veterans. Be with our police and firefighters and all those who work to keep us safe and healthy. Thanks for sending help on Friday and help us work our schedule between now and Christmas... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, and thanks to those who came to pack the food on Saturday, it was a great day. And now we are looking for loaders and sorters for the 18th, again in the afternoon. It is just another way to share your blessings, as you should do. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
