Mary was greatly troubled at the words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
Salvation Wednesday, and the day we pray for our lost soul and for the Lord to use us in the fields of Harvest to bring in the lost. Remember the harvest is ripe for picking, but the pickers are few.
It is over 60 degrees here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and it is raining cats and dogs. How long since you heard that one? God is good, and Dolores is feeling somewhat better today and wants to head out with Santa. She has been resting (or was to be) while I was out being Santa. Let's get right to the message today...
The Virgin Mary (Day 2): Luke 1:29 - Mary was greatly troubled at the words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great and be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
Ok, ladies, let me ask you this question, how would you like to find yourself in the motherly way and never had sex with anyone? Never, you were a virgin or are a virgin and the angel tells you, you will be with child. What would go through your mind, ladies, then top it off that you would be engaged to a really dear man. What would people think, how would you tell your boyfriend and how would he react? What about your parents, your dad, for most girls are daddies girls, what would they think? Hi, honey, you might say to your future groom, I am pregnant and you and I are going to have baby. Your future husband might not be your future husband saying who's child is it?... and your dad might just want to know who the guy is, and you keep saying, no daddy, I was not knocked up, I am going to have a child who is going to save the world and the Holy Spirit came over me and planted the seed. And your dad, maybe not being a true believer, did not understand who the Holy Spirit was and the power in the Holy Spirit. "I am going to punch out his lights when I find him," your dad might say... and you are saying no, no, daddy, I am going to have a really special child. Just how did Mary feel, and how did Joseph take it? Men, think about how you might feel as the ladies think about how they would feel. Please place your feet in the sandals of Mary and Joseph. Let me know how you would feel. Would Mary be embarrassed, what about Joseph, how would you have handled it if you were Joseph? Tomorrow we find out just how Mary and Joseph handled this...
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the Christmas Story for we know that without this wonderful virgin birth we just would not have Christmas. Father, we pray for peace on earth, and yes, good will to all men. Please help me with the messages and help me get rested, I am very, very tired and you know we are very busy. Help us, dear Lord, on this mission of Mercy, this mission to tell others of Jesus and to help feed the poor and needy. Thanks for trusting us and thanks for all the help from people on this line and thanks for Your help, Lord, and all glory and honor to you. Use us this day and all on the line to bring in the lost for You. We want to work the fields of Harvest in Your Name, Jesus. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Brothers and sisters my head was bouncing off the keyboard this morning as I would doze off. Please pray for God to give us more strength in our old bodies and minds. Now share those blessings and go forth in the name of Jesus ... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
