December 2, 2010 The Virgin Mary 3

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Thursday and the day we pray for our families and our schools. Please keep praying for my dear wife Dolores. Also pray for Carry The Light Ministry as we ready for our big sorting and packing party on Saturday afternoon. We are starting about 1.30 PM after we return from our morning at Allenberry. One of the most difficult jobs in the food pantry is, believe it or not, getting names of people who need help and then calling them to tell them to come. While many of the folks are returns and have been here before they need directions if they have not been here. So often there is no answer on the phones and we must wait for call backs. We hope to pack out six bags of food for at least 75 families this Saturday. A lot of work. Our daughter Danelle is going to be the work leader for God... Pray for her please. I also need to count food so we know what we can put in each bag... again, pray for us please.

The Virgin Mary 3: Luke 1:35 - The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God." (NIV)

Luke 1:38: "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. Brothers and sisters, using Mary as an example today I want to ask you this question... Are you the Lord's servant? If the angel of the Lord would call on you today, or if Jesus just placed it on your heart to do something, would you answer the call saying "I am the Lord's servant"? If you don't think this could happen, and I am not talking that the Lord would send an angel to a virgin, for we have our Savior and it is the one and only Jesus Christ. However, God calls each and every one of us to do work for Him. I have heard from some people they have had angels come to them, appear to them and asked them to do things... And for myself, God has on many, many occasions spoken to me, and called me to do things. Oh, back in the days when I had not fully come to God, I must confess I did not answer the call, I did not say, I am the Lord's servant. But now, well, I stand ready for the call and I pray you do also. I know pastors today that were late called, and yes, I know some that came out of high school and went to schools of higher education and have been preaching for a long time. Good for them, but good also for those that answer the call whenever called, regardless of age. And God does not just call people to pastor and/or preach, He calls people to teach in Sunday school, help the poor, help the needy, take His word to the street, yes, take His word, the Good News, to all creation. It means that people who are just happy singing in the church choir or preaching or teaching in the church need to consider getting on the other side of the door, get out from behind the church walls and going to the street for Jesus. It means more than just giving a turkey one time a year to the mission, for those without food like to eat like we do, 3 meals a day, plus some snacks, 365 days a year. It means we must talk to people about Jesus on more than just Sundays, it means we need to talk to people about Jesus on those same 365 days per year and one year in four we need to work an extra day. I know we need a day of rest, sure we do, but we can also rest in the arms of the Lord. Dolores, bless her body and soul, has been ordered to rest in bed several hours per day with her feet up. I often find her there, on her back, phone in her hand calling people to come for food, or answering calls from those in need.

What am I saying here, regardless of our age, we can work for God. And I tell this to folks who live in the retirement home where I preach... each one sits at a table with others, their new families so to speak. They can talk up Jesus at the table. Now let me move on with one more scripture today, for tomorrow I want to talk about Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus.

Luke 1:39 - At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea 40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!" (NIV)

Listen to this, my brothers and sisters, and you just know I was going to pick up on this one...
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb. The baby leaped in her womb.

I can remember back when we were expecting our very first child, kicking in the womb of his mother. And some people say there is no life, that it is ok to MURDER a baby. Even the unborn baby was so excited about Mary being with child that the unborn baby jumped for Joy. Folks, we know today how babies are made and I don't need to tell you that, but that baby, that unborn baby is just that, a baby, a child, and you can ask any mother or mother-to-be, have you felt that baby kicking? Jumping for joy inside that mother's womb? Go ahead, ask them... Ladies, tell me, write me, tell me about how the unborn baby jumped for joy. You know, guys, this is one thing that we cannot feel, we do not get that chance but we do get the chance to hold that newborn.

Tomorrow we talk about Joseph, and next week we start the journey, the journey that I pray God will give me that will go on till Easter and beyond. Today as we pray and maybe each day, let's pray for all those abortion doctors and nurses to come to Jesus, for once they come to Jesus they will change lines of work. Let me say this and it is not judging, you CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN AND BELIEVE IN ABORTION. It is one of the commandments; Exodus 20:13 - You shall not murder. (NIV) You cannot be Christ-like if you do not follow the commandments and follow the teachings of Jesus. Christian means Christ-Like... are you Christ-Like, are you a Christian?

Dear Lord, please forgive us of our sins, forgive us our debts as we forgive others. And Lord, I want to be Christ-Like, I want to be a Christian, but not just in name but in works and deeds and helping others. Today as I pray for healing of my wife and others to be healed from their ills and pains, I also pray today that all those working in the the abortion places will come to their knees and come to You and give up making money on killing Your children. Lord, I pray for families today, all families, all those on this line, all those at the Bridges and all, of course most of all, the family of God. In the name of Jesus I ask a blessing on our schools, bring love and peace in our schools, and watch over the children. Bless schools from preschool to the schools of higher education. In the name of Jesus I put my prayers through to God The Father. I love You, Jesus, and I need help in repenting daily. Yes, Lord, I am just an old sinner and need saved by Your grace and blood. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth praying, and let me tell you this, never ever be afraid to pray for people in public. When God calls you to pray for people, don't tell someone I will pray for you, stop right then and pray for them... hold their hand, give them a big hug and pray for them. There are people on this line that I have hugged and prayed for and there are some on this line I never met but would love to just hold in my arms and anoint them with oil and pray for them. Folks, I love you, and I want you to love others, love them with all your heart, do not hold back your love for others. Now go forth and share your blessings... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
