After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, "Get up, take the child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child's life are dead." So he got up, took the child and His mother and went to the land of Israel.
Happy New Years Eve, my dear brothers and sisters. This will be my last time writing to you!
This year!! Once again I have prayed and prayed about this mission of writing each day, and once again God is still planting subjects on my little mind and as long as God plants those subjects, I feel He wants me to write. So with the start of the New Year it would be nice to hear from you... Do you want to remain on the receiving end? Or should I delete you from receiving the daily message? Do you have friends that might like to come on line with us? Hey, it is maybe the only free thing still out there after all these years. It is Friday and the day we pray for all of God's workers, and also I ask you today to pray for Brian and LeaAnne as tonight, or should I say tomorrow morning at one second past midnight I am going to marry this wonderful couple. Yes, pray also for me that I don't mess up. Need God's hand. Also we have a New Years Eve Concert at the Bridges at 6.30 PM so it will keep us stepping to get it done.
The Big Trip 3-5: Matthew 2:19 - After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, "Get up, take the child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child's life are dead." 21 So he got up, took the child and His mother and went to the land of Israel. (NIV)
Once again we see that the angel of The Lord has called upon Joseph in a dream and once again we see Joseph, not asking questions, not waiting till morning, but getting right up and doing as asked by that angel of The Lord. You know over the years we have spent a lot of time looking at the Virgin Mary and how she was picked to be the mother of Jesus and how God found favor in her. But think about this, when God was looking over Mary, He had to take into consideration Joseph, or a man that would be taking care of Jesus in those tender years. God needed someone who would head up the family, under God, and do what was best for The Child and also for Mary.
Today we can look at some marriages and you might have a wonderful mother who has really picked one bum of a dad for their kids. I have told many people who have children and are for one reason or another single that when they are seeking out a mate for life they are also seeking out a parent for their children. I am sure that God, when picking Mary to be the mother of Jesus, He looked at Joseph and saw that He was an excellent choice to become the earthly father or earthly dad of our Lord and Savior, and while Jesus was in those tender years Joseph would both honor God and protect The Christ Child but also take care of Mary as we are to do this day... Men, MEN, I SAY, hear me on this, we are to HEAD UP THAT HOUSEHOLD, Under God we are to take care of our family, and God does not just say in the tender years. We are to head up that household and again I say under God. I can't help but wonder when we have all those people, a lot of them military or veterans, standing there wanting to keep our pledge to the flag with "One Nation Under God" in it (as I also want to see) forget that they also should remember this, that those with children should be saying "ONE DAD, UNDER GOD."
Maybe we men should get some shirts made up that say just that... "ONE DAD, UNDER GOD." Men who are willing to help take care of the family, regardless of how old the family might be. Just because our children leave the nest and have families of their own and then that man needs to take over his family, we, we who are at the top of the family, still head it up. I am happy to say that most of our children still come to us for advice when dealing with some things. I am happy that they know that they can do it.
Todays message, bottom line, MEN, walk in the footsteps of Jesus and be a Joseph and take your orders from God and work hard to take care of your family... "ONE DAD, UNDER GOD." Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, help me to be a Joseph when it comes to working with my family, even though our children have long left the nest, help me to help them all I can, and Lord, help me remember to take care of my wife, and help her understand that I need to do this to please You... Help all men feel that way, and Lord, when a family has no dad to step up to the plate, may the lady of the house look straight at You for that guidance. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth, sharing those blessings, and remember to end 2010 Year with Jesus and to travel all of 2011 with Him... yes, and men, be "ONE DAD, UNDER GOD." Love ya, Pastor dan.

December 30, 2010 The Big Trip 3-4
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and His mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill Him." So he got up and took the child and His mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod.
Good Thursday pray for our schools and families day, to all of you. And please remember to pray for the family of God. Folks, so many have drifted away from family, and not just the earthly family but God's family. I still think to get the earthly family to really work out, one must first really and truly belong to the family of God. It took me a long, long time till I was solid enough in the family of God to trust Him to run things at our home and me work under Him, and it over the years cost me dearly and I am not talking in dollars and cents here, folks, I am talking in what is important, like family. Prayers again today for those with cancer, for Lonewolf who had surgery last week and did find out she has cancer. Lonewolf is born again, loves the Lord and is looking to Him for healing to stay with family on earth. But she did tell me this, she has family already in heaven and is ready to meet Jesus face to face and is not afraid to go on to heaven. We are praying for you, my sister, and we are just going to put it into God's hands and say, Thy will be done. Please also keep praying for Vicki... I have not heard from her for a while, except for a phone call telling me the computer crashed out.
The Big Trip 3-4: Matthew 2:13 - When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and His mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill Him." 14 So he got up and took the child and His mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my Son." (NIV)
Before I start working on the scripture and what it might mean to us this day, I want to point something out to you... After Jesus was born, please note that when Jesus or The Child is mentioned along with Mary or "His Mother" that the child is always mentioned first.
So how often do you dream and then you try and figure out what that dream might be meaning? Once in a while I will have a dream, and in most cases it does not take me long to figure out what they were meaning. I dream I am out someplace and cannot find a restroom, and I am hunting and hunting for a restroom, then I wake up, and sure enough, I need to go to the bathroom. Ok, I should not have said that but it is true and you need to laugh a little this morning.
But what about those dreams, have you ever had something pointed out to you in a dream? I know that I have had dreams and the subject of what God wants me to write about is pointed out by the subject of my dream. I cannot say that I saw Jesus or even an angel of the Lord, but the subject was so right there and I just knew that God wanted me to talk about it. I have also had that happen after I had my message all ready on a Saturday night and I got awake during the night and the subject was changed and I started over again. I have talked with other pastors who have had that happen also.
So let's take a look at Joseph and His dreams. First an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him about Mary, being a virgin, and was going to have a child and he should take care of the child. Now the angel is appearing again to Joseph and telling him again to take care of the child, pointing out that king Herod wants to kill the child. Right from the start, the very beginning, there where those who wanted to kill our Lord Jesus and since nothing is different today, except that Jesus was killed but was raised from the dead and is alive and well, those who wanted to kill him, now want to kill us, and why? Because as a solid Christian, one who really, really loves Jesus, we have Jesus living in us and they, in my opinion, think they can kill off Jesus if they kill those of us who love Him...
So when the angel of the Lord, appeared to Joseph and said "Get up" and escape to Egypt, Joseph did not fall back asleep and say I will take care of that tomorrow or this coming weekend, I will pack for the trip..No Joseph got up, got The Child and His mother and took off. That brings me to this question for all of you. If God calls on you to do something for Him, how long do you put it off before you even start to work on it? Think about it, we can make all sorts of excuses for not getting started right away, but in fact when God calls us we should respond right away, we are either with Him, or we are thinking about it. And most often what do we Christians say when we think Jesus is calling us? Well, let me pray about it for a while. WAIT A MINUTE, God already called you, what are you waiting for, but hey, we still do it. Joseph packed up and answered the call right away. And did we see it happen before in the Bible? Sure we did, God called on Noah and Noah built an Ark, took him a long time but he went right to work for God. And what about when Jesus called His disciples?
Matthew 4:18 - As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 "Come follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 20 At once they left their nets and followed Him. (NIV)
So the brothers laid down their nets and followed Jesus, in other words they answered the call. They did not say to Jesus, give me the weekend and I will go home and pray about it to God, or I must go home and fix things up, no, they just followed Jesus. And that is what we should do, follow Jesus, and folks, if we pray and listen we will find that He is calling all of us, and we need to get moving on what He wants us to do. If Joseph would have not answered the call and moved out right away with Jesus and His mother, they might have been killed by Herod's army. God is still in control, and if He calls you, He will also give you the tools to get the job done..I think, and I have tried it, I wanted to work for God, but I wanted to do it my way, and God wants it done His way. And we all know or should know by now, it is His will that needs to be done by us and not our will.
So when an angel of the Lord calls you, or if God just talks to your heart, take time to listen, take that step out in faith, my brothers and sisters. Hold onto Jesus and follow Him and trust me on this, the trip is always interesting, always rewarding and most often hard work, but hey, hard work will not hurt you if you are doing it for God.
Dear Father in Heaven... Help us all to listen for You to call on us and help us to answer the call. Help us walk in the light of Jesus and belong to the family of God... Your family, dear Lord. Help us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, go forth and share your blessings that were given to you by God. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 29, 2010 The Big Trip 3-3
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him."
Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. The day we pray for the unsaved and pray that God will use us to help seek out the lost and bring them in. Other prayers today for Eleanor Saylor who is being moved to Health South Rehab Hospital.
The Big Trip 3-3: Matthew 2:1 - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him." (NIV)
So how many Kings were at the Manger? Just one, and that was The King of all Kings, our Lord Jesus. As you can see the Magi, or the kings from the east, following the star of Jesus -- They did not arrive at the manger with the three gifts, it was more than likely a couple of months later and they did bring gifts with them and visit Him at His home. Here is the scripture that covers what I am telling you:
Matthew 2:7 - Then Herod called the Magi secretly and fount out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him." 9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the HOUSE, they saw the child with His mother and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of Gold and of incense and of Myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. (NIV)
So the kings came from other countries and they worshiped Jesus in His home, not at the manger. The other facts, they brought three gifts and they followed the star, are in the Bible. Oh, but the Bible really does not tell us if two kings brought the gifts or maybe six or seven. We just know the Magi brought three gifts.
Tomorrow the great Escape to Egypt.
Dear Father in Heaven, Help us to come nearer and nearer to you, and Lord, help us to seek out the lost, and Lord, if there are some on this line, may they give us a call so we can help them get on track to heaven. Lord, I pray today that You forgive my sins of yesterday and my sinful thoughts and thinking. Lord, keep me, and keep all of us on track with You, may You be the light of our lives and may we make it shine for others. Use us, dear Lord, use us... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing those blessings and loving on each person you see, let the Jesus light in you shine brighter and brighter each day... Do you know you do not need to pay an electric charge for the light that you get from Jesus? Someone should shout AMEN at that statement... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 27, 2010 The Big Trip 3-2
On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before he had been conceived. When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord") and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord; a pair of doves or two young pigeons.
Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Let's start today by saying PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE LORD. Mae Rambo is home from the hospital, with NO heart damage, also Eleanor Saylor should be coming home from the hospital today. Please keep praying for these two ladies. Also pray for safe passage for Dan and Bob Saylor as they return to this area and then Dan must turn around and head back to his home in Ohio. Last night I had a wonderful dinner and a nice talk with Brian and LeaAnne who I am marrying at one second past Midnight on that very first day of 2011. What a great couple, please pray for them as they start life together as one. Our other prayers on Tuesday are for God to cure cancer, and other health problems so they never again hurt anyone. As we pray for those with cancer, please pray for Ron, and also Kathleen. Also pray for the family of Mark. Mark, who was 49, died suddenly on Christmas Evening leaving behind his wife and daughter.
The Big Trip 3-2: Luke 2:21 - On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before he had been conceived. 22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord") 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord; a pair of doves or two young pigeons. (NIV)
As you can see by the scriptures, Joseph and Mary took Jesus and returned on the eight day to Jerusalem, to the earthly home of Jesus. We also see that Jesus received His name officially when He went to be circumcised, which according to the Law of Moses was for purification. A sacrifice of a lamb was to be made unto the Lord, but if the family did not have the money then two doves or two pigeons would be acceptable.
Tomorrow we are going to look at the Magi coming to visit Baby Jesus and the gifts they brought to our Christ Child. Then later this week we will take a look at the great escape to Egypt and then the return back to Nazareth. After that we will find a gap in the life of Jesus.
Dear Father in Heaven, we praise You this day and give You all honor and glory for the results of tests with Mae, and now we ask that You rest her. Again we give thanks for the blessings we receive each day from our Lord, we give all the thanks and honor and glory to You, dear Lord. I ask today, Lord, that You will bless Brian and LeaAnne and their big day coming forth and then You would bless this couple who love You dearly, Lord. Please keep touching Ron, Kathleen, Eleanor, Mae, and also please, Lord, touch Pastors Tony and Charles. Praise God for all who helped with our food drive this year. What a great year... Lord, as You fed thousands with a small amount of food and also had leftovers, likewise You did the same for the Food Pantry that we operate for You. Thank You Jesus for all you do... in the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, and yes, share those blessings. God blesses each of us each and every day, and we need to keep sharing what He blesses us with. And someone said AMEN! Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 27, 2010 The Big Trip 3-1
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?" "We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Gosh it is hard to remember what day of the week it is, seems like I am all mixed up. Dolores and I had a great Christmas and got a lot of needed rest. We both wore ourselves about out coming down the home stretch for Christmas and the food pantry and we still have a lot of work to get done. We are getting ready now for a New Years Eve Concert at the Bridges and then a Midnight wedding. In fact it should be the first marriage in 2011.
Ok, it is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders and for our veterans and for our military.
Also please pray for Eleanor Saylor who was admitted to the hospital on Christmas day. Also prayers for Mae Rambo, also admitted to the hospital and I believe Christmas Eve. Mae, the wife of Gospel singer Buck Rambo, is being checked for heart problems.
The Big Trip 3-1: Matthew 2:1 - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?" "We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." (NIV)
Ok, let's settle it once and for all this morning... How many kings were at the manger right after Jesus was born? I have heard a lot of answers, and there is only one correct answer... If you are thinking three kings because you have been singing the song, We Three Kings, that is your first big mistake, because we are not sure how many kings brought the gifts, but we do know this, none of them made it to Bethlehem to the manger. This leaves just one King at the manger and that would be King Jesus, King of all kings and Lord of all lords and our Savior, the one who was born to die so we might live.
As we talked last week the shepherds came in from the fields nearby and I also brought up the fact that more than likely some from the inn, including the innkeeper came to the stable to visit the Newborn King. But again, the Bible tells us of the Shepherds, Mary, Joseph and yes, of course, there were Angels there to go to the fields to tell about Jesus. But only one King, our King, our Lord Jesus.
So how did the kings who did come with the gifts, and the gifts, three of them could have been all brought by two kings, three kings or a host of kings --how did they know how to find Jesus? The angels did not meet them in the fields nearby. The kings followed the Star of our Lord Jesus. The Bible states that "We saw His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Notice it states "We saw His star" and we is more then one. And the Bible states we saw His star... A new star went up. By the time the kings got to see the King, He was back home with Mary and Joseph.
Tomorrow we find out about the first time Jesus was presented at the Temple of the Lord. Again this story really comes to life if you take the time to read the story from your Bible. You will find it in Matthew 2:1/12. Good reading, my dear brothers and sisters, good reading.
Dear Heavenly Father we give thanks for another day, another day given to us to live as we please, but today we ask that You help us, that You guide us and that You direct us and that You help us to repent from our sins and just walk and talk with You and live our lives, one day at a time with and for You. Please watch over our leaders and I pray that they all come to You, that our leaders start to remember that an unborn baby is a child and they outlaw abortion. I pray you watch over our president and soften his heart to follow You if he does not do that now, and Lord, I am not to judge, but he believes in abortion and I cannot see in my mind how anyone can truly love you and also believe in the killing of babies. I pray today for our leaders in Washington, in our state houses across this wonderful land You lent us to care for. I pray for our veterans including those from all wars and even the peace times and I pray for those veterans right now who are but 18 years old and living in veterans hospitals with parts missing. Lord, bless them and heal them please. Lord, for our current military, please watch over them and also their families. And Lord, please heal, Eleanor, Mae, also Buck, and heal Stanley and my dear wife Dolores. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Go Forth now and share your blessings, share your love of Jesus with everyone, tell them the good news. And remember, even after that big Christmas dinner, those poor folks like to eat. Think sharing, dear brothers and sisters... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Christmas Eve. 2010 The Big Trip 2-5
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.
Good Christmas Eve morning to you, my dear brothers and sisters. Today we are going to start different by starting with prayer and communion. As we go to the table of the Lord we want to go clean, so as I pray for the forgiveness of sins, it must be an "I" prayer and not a "We" prayer. So, please, pray it from your heart and in faith.
Dear Father in Heaven, I confess unto You this day that I am a sinner; I am now and always have been. I seem to mess up a lot, and I really do want to walk each day without the pain of sins. Please today forgive me of my sins and mess-ups and wash me clean again. Also, dear Lord, please help me repent, help me turn from my sinful ways and to live, walk, and do all things in the name of Jesus and do it to please Jesus, and no one else but Jesus. I thank You for cleaning me, and pray in the name of the one whose birth we are celebrating. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)
Take now your bread and break and eat... It is the body of Jesus and it is broken for us.
Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, this is the blood of Jesus, and it is standing ready to clean you of your sins...
Candlelight Communion Service this evening at The Bridges of Bent Creek and you, of course, are welcome... Service Time... 6.30PM
Also tonight at 11:00 PM in the Chapel of Hope Church on the Carlisle Pike, a Candlelight Communion service. Always very, very nice to go back in time, sit on the old hard wood pews and have a nice quiet communion service. I try and go there each year. Now let's get onto today's message.
The Big Trip 2-5: Luke 2:10 - But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a Baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying. 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests." 15 When the angels had left there and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the manger. (NIV)
Jesus has been born and the word is spreading. Today we have telephone, television, radio, text messages, Facebook, and also as they did back then, word of mouth. But what type of communication did we see here that we don't hear of much today? The word went out by the Lord's messengers, Angels of the Lord. And folks, that way is still used today. Also another way that God gets messages out today is also the same as back then, God will speak to your heart. So my first question of today, you will stop and answer that cell phone, even when driving, you stop and read the text messages coming in. You listen to the radio, but do you, I SAID BUT DO YOU LISTEN FOR GOD TO SPEAK TO YOUR HEART?
Here we find that the Shepherds who were in the fields nearby watching over their flocks were the first other than those at the manger to find out about the Son of God being born, and they came to see and then they would go off to tell others what they saw. While I am going to be writing about this next week, most of the manger sets we see and even those live nativity show kings at the manger and that is not from the Bible. Like I said, we will have more on that next week. I would think there would have been a lot of men and women gathered that night at the manger, even though the Bible does not really point it out, but using God-given common sense I would think that since the Inn was filled to a point that was so full that the birth of a new born baby had to happen in the barn, I would think that many, many of those coming to register to pay taxes would have come to the barn, and especially since the Star would be going up. And what about all those who traveled with Mary and Joseph, and most of all the other ladies, would you not think they would want to know and even help if needed?
So the shepherds came and looked, and would talk and share what they saw, they went off and told what they saw and all who heard were amazed... just amazed.
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for sending us Your Son, our Savior, and we are still amazed just as the shepherds were back in the day when Jesus was born. Amazing then, and Amazing now. Thank You for sending Him and thank You for cleaning the sins of all who asked today. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth and have a great, great Christmas Eve. and yes I will have a very short Christmas Morning message tomorrow. Share the blessings, share the word, share The Baby, tell others just as the shepherds did, and folks, when you became born again or when you do, you will really know what this Baby did for You... "BORN TO DIE, SO WE MIGHT LIVE." And everyone on line said --Amen.
Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 23, 2010 The Big Trip 2-4
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid." I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.
Good Schools and families day, greetings to you, my dear sisters and brothers. Schools and families day and on this day I get to go to a few public schools as Santa and tell the real reason for Christmas... as I stand in my Santa suit and tell of the manger. GOD IS GOOD AND STILL OPENS THOSE DOORS, FOLKS.
Please keep praying for Kathleen, and Ron, both who have cancer. Also pray for Pearl and her family. And pray for all pastors today, all of them that during this time when they get extra people coming to church. A nice time to preach and teach Salvation. Prayers also for Eleanor Saylor. And prayers for Dan and Bob as they travel on this holiday season. Be careful on the roads.
The Big Trip 2-4: Luke 2:8 - And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid." I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. (NIV)
Yesterday we were at the Inn and found out that there was not enough room there for Joseph, Mary and our Little Lord Jesus. We also found that it did not make a difference and the Innkeeper seeing Mary was about to have a child told them they could go to the barn. Then the child was born and now the announcements start going out...
When people have a baby now, the parents send out pictures and an announcement that a child has been born. Sent by mail or maybe even e-mail, oftentimes when one receives the notice or announcement they send a gift to the parents for that child. Soon we will talk about gifts being brought to The Christ Child, but let's talk first about the gifts that The Christ Child will bring upon us.
First let's talk about the Love that this Child brought us, and that would be the same with all babies, they should be bringing love for the family, and also friends and bring love and joy through out their lives. But the Love that came from The Christ Child went far beyond that of a normal child. The Love of This Special Child was that He was born to die so we might live. But His gift of Love went far, far beyond just coming to die for us and for our sins.
First, right from the start, He showed us all that a child should be carried and not aborted, well, Joseph and Mary showed us that. But this special child gave to us all His short life and is still giving from His heart to all of us. Over the time between now and Easter we will be talking about all the things that This Child did for us as He grew up. We will talk about how He showed us all how to live. He showed us how to treat others and how to love. I am excited just getting ready for this. But for now, let's just go back to those announcements made by the angel of the Lord.
The Bible tells us that the Angel of the Lord and more than likely Gabriel since he has been mentioned in most of the records that have been set in our Bibles. The angels went to the fields nearby, where the shepherds were watching their flocks, and more than likely these shepherds were nearby watching over the top of the flock or the lambs that are used on the Altars to sacrifice to the Lord. Stop and think about this, these shepherds are about to lose their jobs for we know that this Baby, our Lord Jesus, is The Lamb of God and will be sacrificed for all of us to cover our sins. The lambs and sheep will be used for food and the wool. Shepherds will still be needed, but part of the jobs will be gone, out sourced so to speak, to our Lord Jesus... Tomorrow, Christmas Eve... Online communion, so bring it to your computer. Let's come and let's get cleaned up for Christmas, now since getting all dressed up, and not getting rid of the stains... Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for coming just to die for my sins and the sins of all people in the world, regardless of their color or how they speak, or who there are or even what religion they are... You are The Savior of the World and the Greatest Gift we have or ever will have received. Thank You for showing me how to live, Jesus, and I am sorry it took so long and I am sorry I still mess up. Help us this day and please heal, Kathleen, Ron, Eleanor and my wife Dolores. And please keep the highways open and safe for Dan and Robert. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Go Forth and share your blessings and remember Communion Tomorrow... Also, going to Church Christmas Eve. You are welcome at the Bridges... Service time for the Candlelight Communion service is 6.30 PM. Please arrive early... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 22, 2010 The Big Trip 2-3
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the Inn.
Salvation Wednesday and good morning to all of you, my dear brothers and sisters. Today, the day we pray for the unsaved and for God to use all of us to help bring in the lost to the feet of Jesus. The best, the very best way to bring in the lost to Jesus is to live to please Him. By you living using Jesus as your example, others will see this. If you are not living to please Jesus, yet trying to tell others they should live to please Jesus, they might think, why should I live like that when they do not? Or in some cases I have heard people say, if that is what it is like to be a Christian, I don't want to be one.
Folks, each day we need to pray to God for Him to help us be in control at all times, for sometimes, yes, sometimes it is very hard to do. We get tired, we need to call someone and we get put on hold for a long time, then someone picks up the phone and just hangs it back up cutting you off. You start again and again it happens, by then the next time you call and get a person, you are going to let them have it. No, we, and I am talking to me here also, we must learn once again to pray and have God take over for us. Before working for God, we must ask God to be working in us... Amen!!
The Big Trip 2-3: Luke 2:6 - While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the Inn. (NIV)
You get into your car, it has heat and air conditioning, you drive from your home, say in Central Pennsylvania, to New York because you are going to get on one of those big boats for a nice winter cruise... You go to the parking lot where there is to be a place for all the cruisers to park if needed. You find there is no room in the parking lot for your car, so you drive around and find one. You then must catch a cab or bus to get to that ship. You try stopping the cab but they are full and have no room for you. The bus stops and it is also full, no room for you and your spouse.
You keep walking and you get to the ship by foot, you walked a long way. When you arrive you find that someone messed up that reservation and that outside cabin you had booked was full and while they were really nice and said you could have your next cruise at half price, you were sent to a lower floor with a small inside berth. The only thing that might get worse is if the people in charge put canned tuna on board instead of lobster and steak... Seven days of Tuna Noodle Casserole.
Ok, so I made that up, but it could happen... I mean part of it was sort of like that first Christmas... All that travel to find out there was no room in the inn. Joseph and Mary, with Mary on the donkey for most of the trip, traveled a long way, more than likely 3 days, hot days, cold nights, and they get to that Inn, and no more rooms, and Mary is about to have a baby. So Joseph does not blow up, get all fired up and say anything. Old calm Joseph was more interested in where he and Mary could settle in. So the Inn Keeper seeing Mary was with child told them they could use the barn. Now staying in the barn might not be the place you would want to deliver your child but having a farm at one time in my life I know that those bank barns are warm where the animals lay.
So Joseph goes to the barn with Mary, and makes up a manger in a feed bin. Then I would think he would have taken the blanket from the donkey and other cloths and made a place for Mary to lay. It was not long after that that the baby was born, a baby boy, a King, and our Lord and Savior and this special little child was born to die... Sent to us by God (John 3:16) because He loved us so much. So how much do we love Him? Do we love Him as much as He loved us? Are you willing to die for Him, for He died for us. Think about it... Tomorrow, the angel Gabriel gets busy again...
Dear Father in Heaven, help us to live for You, to follow in Your footsteps, to follow Your light, to follow Your lead... To live for You and to be willing to do all You want us to do... To work for You, keep us strong, Lord, for it is not easy living here in America and doing each day to please You. Lord, I for one cannot do it without You lifting and carrying me... So help me Lord... Help me.
In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings, Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 21, 2010 The Big Trip 2-2
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
Good First Day of Winter, my dear brothers and sisters. Today, the shortest amount of daylight hours and starting tomorrow the daylight time starts to grow longer. Tuesday and the day we pray for those cures for cancer, kidney problems, diabetes, heart problems, liver problems, etc. Cures that God has found for those, and cures we have, under His hands, have found in the past. Think about it... TB, yes one of the biggies that all parents worried about years ago...
Please keep Kathleen Sansoni in your prayers as her cancer has advanced and her treatment schedule is now different. Please keep praying for Ron, who also has cancer, I will try and get an update on him. Prayers for Lonewolf, tumor, for Pastor Charles, stroke, for Pat Parvin, stroke, and for "Les", cancer.
The Big Trip 2-2: Luke 2:4 - So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (NIV)
This really was a big trip back in those days. It would take about three days to travel between Nazareth where Joseph and Mary were living, to Bethlehem in the town of David. Three days... Ladies, you are nine months in the motherly way and your husband puts you on the back of a donkey for a three day ride sitting sideways on this animal. Gosh, most women in those final days do not want to even take a 6 hour ride in a Caddy, let alone 3 days on an animal. Also, think of the planning that had to go into this, water and feed for the animals and I am saying animals for I am sure their would be many travelers going that same route. Also food and water for the men and women and I would think that since all the adults were going, that there would be children going along so that would not be "home alone". Rest stops would need to be planned, not just for the people but for the animals, and think about it, the heat in the daylight hours and the cold of the night. Folks, it was not an easy trip by any means, it was just not easy.
Years ago, I would arrive at work very early in the morning, I would unlock the place and in the summer months when school was not in session I would go for a long walk, about 5 miles, and it took over an hour, I enjoyed it, but was tired when I got back. I want you to think about everyone parking their car for a month, and walking to work or school. All roads would be safe to walk on, because there would be no driving. Kids could walk to school, parents to work. Well, that would never work, never, but think about it... How long would it take you to walk from where you live to where you work? Would you need to build in overnight stops, and I am sure restroom breaks... I am trying to get you to think just how long that trip was back in those days. It might not take all that long today in your Hummer, or in your "LIL BUG" but it is a long, long walk, Joseph leading the donkey and Mary on board, and more than likely walking with friends and neighbors and maybe even enjoying the walk. I wonder, would we enjoy the walk today, knowing we were signing up to pay taxes? However, we would gladly walk it knowing our Lord Jesus was going to greet us at the end of the walk, or would we? Would we walk it right or wrong? Well, folks, look at it today, we are to be walking in the light of our Jesus, walking in His footsteps, and do we do it right? Or do we mess up? You are aware at the end of our walk, our life's walk, if we do it right, if we love Jesus and ask Him into our heart and into our lives and we really do walk it for Him, He will be waiting for us at the end of the walk... Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, we want to walk each day with You as Mary and Joseph walked from their town where they lived to their home town with Jesus in the womb of His mother. And those who were walking with them got the first look at our Savior. Well, Lord, forgive me of my sins and help me with my daily walk that it is always with and for you. And Lord, I pray others will also take this time as they think about the walk of Mary and Joseph and will walk each day with you. Please heal those on our prayer list today and please take away the pain that my wife is carrying. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Ok, folks, before I say goodbye for today, I want to tell you this, the other night at a large private party I had a really nice, new, all white stuffed Teddy Bear and I wanted to give it to the youngest child at the party... So at this Christmas time when we talk of Jesus in the womb and being born after that big trip, I called for the youngest baby! Is there a baby in the womb here tonight? One lady put up her hand, she was four months along and she took home the Teddy... It gave me a chance to tell each person that the one in the womb is a child, a real living baby. Then with another bear in hand I asked if there was another baby in the womb and seeing no hands, and my dear wife in the very back, I said over the mike, Mrs. Claus, please put your hand down. Well, that got a laugh, and then we gave the other teddy to an 18 month old. Now it is time to say this... Please share those blessings, and do it each day. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 20, 2010 The Big Trip 2-1
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David because he belonged to the house and line of David.
Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to Christmas week. I love Christmas, I really do. I must take a minute and thank all of you who have prayed for Carry The Light Ministries, for the food pantry and for our distribution that we had this past Saturday. And thanks also for all who supported the mission and all who came to help on packing day and then on distribution. This past Saturday the helpers arrived about 1.00 PM and we formed a circle and each stated in short why they came to help, we then prayed and went to work for God handing out food to the poor and needy. We set out ten shopping carts, the first five holding bags 1-5, next was a cart with 5 pound bags of potatoes, and then a cart with turkeys, and one with hams, the next in line was the one with the pies, and then we had one with lots of extra goodies. We had three prayer warriors being sure that all those who arrived were prayed for and I mean they were prayed with and for. Wanda, Joanne and Mike with my help once in a while handled that work for the Lord. It seems we had a helper for each cart and some to help keep the carts full. And then they came, car, after car, after car into our driveway.. Rob Campbell took it upon himself to be the street man, going to the end of the driveway and keeping things moving. We tried to load three cars together and then after prayer, move them out. Dolores, AKA Mrs. Claus, handled the books inside where each family had to sign in. Chief Elf, Pamela, handed each person a Bible along with our card and a track from Billy Graham Ministries showing the steps to get into heaven. I thank each party who came and informed them we are not just here for Christmas. One Grandmother who raised her grandchildren had no money to buy Christmas Gifts. Well, you should seen that car when it left, as this old Pastor who is also Santa, just loaded it with toys, and even a bike donated through the museum and left in that truck. From 1.30 to 3.30 it was a steady line of cars. We also had the youth group here from the Tree of Life Church in Carlisle Pa. Those wonderful, wonderful kids worked so good, they were given the detail of sorting incoming food. I had made Hamburg BBQ and it was all gone at the end of the day as the work crew ate it up... What did I forget, coffee, my wife said next year make coffee as it was very cold. Now with all the crews I want to give thanks to where it belongs... THANK YOU, JESUS, THANK YOU, JESUS, THANK YOU, JESUS... for without Jesus having people share their blessings it would not have happened. Now you remember how Jesus fed thousands with just a few loaves and two fishes, well, folks, after giving food to all these folks, WE HAVE LEFTOVERS and I mean a lot of left overs. On that evening after all the work we went to a neighbor's for a private party where all coming brought food for the food pantry. I was tired, and I laid down on the floor with all the children in front of me, and with not much voice, I told all the kids and their parents also the story of Christmas as seen through the eyes of the donkey. Then they had to pick me up from the floor.
Last night was Allenberry's private party for employees, they had a ton of door prizes, a couple of really big smoked hams. One of the first numbers drawn was a waitress who went up, got a ham and donated it right to our ministry. And old Santa's number was drawn and I took the other ham.
Folks, today we go out and pick up more food that is coming in. We also have food packed up ready to go for about 15 more families, some of which I will be taking to some schools on Friday.
God is so good, and now let me just get started with the message...
The Big Trip 2-1: Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David because he belonged to the house and line of David. (NIV)
Again I invite you to read the full Christmas Story in your Bible... Now I will keep this part short today as I just needed to tell you about the food pantry and how your work, your donations, your prayers are so important to us and the ministry.
So Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken. I wonder just how the decree would get sent around back in those days, I know we did not have telephone, or email or Facebook, and I guess we just had to rely on those messages getting through by riders on horseback, and this decree more than likely sent out by Caesar was delivered by his military, but again I am not sure about that. I do know this, when God sent out messages on this first Christmas, He used His Angels, and He used a star and yes, God still sends us messages using those methods, yes, sir, He does, as He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be the same forever. God is so good...
Anyway the message got to Joseph, who, being from the line of David, had to go to the City of David and to the town of Bethlehem. Tomorrow we are going to load out with Joseph and move out with Mary and Joseph on the journey to sign up to pay taxes and the census also was a way to find out who is where for the military.
Dear Father in Heaven, I am humbled, humbled and thankful for all the help you sent to us for the food panty work days. I am humbled by all the food You supplied through the hands of others, and I am humbled and very thankful that You trust us to work for You. Dear Father in Heaven, please be with our leaders today, our President, our Vice President, and all our leaders in Washington and with our leaders in the state houses. Be with them, Lord, and give them wisdom and strength and also some common sense. Also be with all those in our Military, regardless of where they serve this great nation of ours. Be also with our veterans, keep them strong and those wounded, make them whole again. Be with those that have been on our prayer lists, and watch over them and heal those who are hurting, heal those with cancer, heal those with heart problems, and bring rest to the weary. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings. And remember as those who came to help know, working and sharing for the Lord can be done many, many ways... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 17, 2010 The Big Trip 1-5
Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way."
Good Friday Morning. my dear brothers and sisters, and another cold day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. I want to thank all of you who have supported the missions of Carry The Light Ministry, and for all of you who have sent Christmas cards to us and sent get well cards to Dolores. It is indeed appreciated, and from our hearts and in the name of Jesus we just say Thank You very, very much. Please pray for Dolores, Pamela and also me as we put on our gospel singing hats today, sort of switch gears and do a gospel concert for seniors. Right now as I am typing to you, my voice is gone due to a very, very bad cold. The only way I am going to be able to sing is if God gives me my voice back by noon today. I trust He will as we are not cancelling the concert. God has never, ever sent us on a mission where He did not supply the tools to get it done.
Also a note about tomorrow, Saturday December 18th... Those of you who are coming to help, please try and be at our home between 1.00 PM and 1.15 PM so we may pray and have a plan for when the people arrive for their food. We have instructed them to come between 2.00 and 4.00 PM, but I expect the driveway to be lined when I get home with the bus from Allenberry. Those coming to help, you may park on the front lawn, off the street, the ground is frozen and you will not sink. Just so all know, tomorrow each family will receive 5 plus bags of food, and I am talking the big paper bags, and also a five pound bag of potatoes, a turkey and a small ham, a pie or other sweets, and this year a New Testament Bible. God is good, and folks. we will also have leftovers so this year our shelves will not be empty after Christmas. So often people think that those poor and needy families only eat at Christmas and Easter. Not so, folks, they like three meals a day and some snacks also... Again, thanks for your support and your help in working with us. We have received some checks from people we have never met... Let me tell you that a check for $20 will purchase 40 or more boxes of Mac and Cheese. Please keep us in prayer tomorrow as we have many, many, cars coming. We are expecting about 50 families to come tomorrow, others who cannot make that day will be scheduled at a time they can make it. If we can help it, no one will go hungry.
The Big Trip 1-5: Matthew 15:32 - Jesus called his disciples to Him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way." 33 His disciples answered, "Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?" 34 "How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked. "Seven," they replied, "and a few small fish." 35 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then He took the seven loaves and the fish, and when He had given thanks, He broke them" and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. (NIV)
Matthew 25:35 - For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, this is sort of a side trip from our walk toward Christmas and the Birth of Christ, but God pointed me this way today and I would think because of our mission for Him and our distribution day tomorrow of food for the poor and needy. We also have helped and will keep helping those who are just in need for a short period of time. Some over the years have come back to support the mission. At this time of the year we see lots of folks getting involved in giving people a meal, surely you will see on the TV news some people, most often political folks at a mission, handing out food, a meal, and it is important, but folks, dear brothers and sisters, people need to eat each day and not just three meals a year, one on Thanksgiving, one on Christmas and one on Easter. We who God has directed to have food pantries know that we need to make a big push at Christmas to get food in, for if we do not, not many will think about it during the year.
God directed me right to the scriptures of today, first when we are feeding the hungry (Matthew 25:35) it was indeed the same as feeding Jesus. This tells me, folks, that in all things we do for good, we are indeed doing it for our Lord Jesus, and we want to be sure, we in Carry The Light Ministries want to be sure, and you want to be sure, that always when giving from your hearts you give God the Glory. Folks, all that we have in our food pantry came from God, through the hands of others, and tomorrow we are going to give food away in the name of Jesus and we are going to give Him the glory. And like the scriptures from Matthew 15:32/37 God has multiplied the food, and we are praying and praying for lots to give away and lots of leftovers to feed those who come forth after Christmas. Folks, there are a lot of poor and needy folks out there and some do not want to ask for food because of pride. If you know of people who need help, please let us know and together we can see that they get help... And yes, of course we have people that "ride the system" who will not work, and the Bible said they should not eat, but that is for God to sort out, not us. We give in the name of Jesus, always have and always will...
So please, folks, pray for those in need tomorrow, pray that all goes well tomorrow, and pray for the workers of Jesus who are coming forth to help. Our Lord Jesus tells us all and this is Friday and the day we pray for those who go to work in the fields of Harvest for the Lord. He tells us all to go into all the world and tell the good news of Jesus... Tomorrow we are going into the fields of Harvest in the name of Jesus to help Him, help Jesus, as directed in Mark 16:15. Pray for us, warriors, pray for us, as we work this mission. Thanks and thanks for understanding about this side trip. You might not be in our area, as this message goes out across the lands, but regardless of where you live, you can work for God, for there are hungry and needy in your area, and if, and if you are the one in need, please, please contact us... our numbers are listed at the end of the message... Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, bless all who walk out in faith in the missions You direct us to do, be it preaching, singing the gospel, helping the needy, reading the Bible to a blind person or a person who has lost some of their sight. Dear Lord, there are so many ways people can work for You, direct us all those different ways. And Lord, bless our mission today, tomorrow and for as long as we walk it for You, and may it be till You call us home. Heal us to work for You, bless those coming to receive and bless those coming to work. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth, and as I say each and every day I write, share your blessings... Share your love, and walk in the light of Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 16, 2010 The Big Trip 1-4
Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."
Good Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today, being Thursday, means it is the day on this line that we center prayers on families and schools. Please today as we pray for schools, pray for all that go through the doors and please also remember to pray for the bus drivers. These wonderful men and women have the safety of your children in their hands a lot, and with the roads bad with ice and snow and the windows icing up in the bus. Oh, yes, with all the breathing of the kids on a cold day the ice forms well on the inside of the bus windows. Driving a bus is very easy, but driving it safe with children on board takes a real pro. And as we pray for families please remember to pray for the family of God. Please pray also today for Eleanor Saylor and for her family, and pray for Dolores and also for me, we have a full concert tomorrow and today I have no voice. God is good, and I have faith that my voice will be back in time for the concert.
The Big Trip 1-4: Matthew 1:19 - Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."
I just want to talk to you today a bit about Joseph, Joseph the son of David, was a remarkable man. Just think about this, God, in choosing Mary, a virgin, had to also consider who our Lord Jesus would have for an earthly father. As we see in Matthew 1:19, Joseph was a righteous man. So I am very sure that God our Father in Heaven not only looked for that perfect mother which he found, but also for that perfect man to be the earthly father of Jesus. He would need to be strong and a good leader, a person that a child would look up to. It would also need to be a man who was willing not to touch his wife in a husband and wife way until after the birth of Jesus. Now think of it, ladies and gentlemen, you get married and then head off for a honeymoon and you can't, well you just can't do what you do on that wedding night. So God found the perfect couple, yes, the perfect couple to not just bear the child, our Lord Jesus, but to raise him up in those tender years.
According to scripture Joseph had really thought about ending the marriage and doing it quietly. But that old angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream, and I would think it would have been the Angel Gabriel as he seemed to be the messenger of choice for this most wonderful news.
Anyway, Joseph listened to the messenger and took on the task of taking care of Mary and his Son who is about to be born and will be King of all kings, Lord of all lords, and the Savior of you and me. He has been given the job of raising our Lord and Savior in the early years.
Now as we see what is going on in the world today we find so many women having sex with different men, and in many cases the children of one mother, have different dads or sperm donors. We have so many men and men or man is a bad term for these guys who just use the woman and then run out on their duty of raising the children and even supporting them. Then the tax payers must take over and help raise them and pay for their care. Now while I truly believe we need to help others, we also need to teach these men and women that their children who come from a few minutes of sex need to be taken care of. MEN, STEP UP AND DO YOUR JOB AS A DAD!! And Women, get a ring, a date and get married before you, dare I say this, before you "take off your pants." And women, be sure that the one you are trusting with your private parts is someone you would trust raising your children. And those who are already with children and single, as you look for a mate for life, be sure you are looking not just for a man for you, but a real man who will step in and help raise your children. Dads are so important and God showed us that in many ways, and one was with Joseph, and of course we also remember Noah, who was picked with his family to get the world moving again after the flood.
Dear Father in Heaven, You are wonderful and we are so blessed by You. You have given us strength to go forward in Your name. Lord, I pray that all men today would take a look at Joseph and how he stepped up to the plate for his Son Jesus, and that we earthly men would take care of children trusted to us. Lord, please be in our schools touching all who enter them and be on those buses with the drivers and the kids. Lord, I pray for families today and that You would touch them and bring them to their knees and that they humble in Your sight and become godly men and women to lead the families. Lord, please heal Eleanor, Charles, Dolores and the many others who have been on our prayer lists over the last month And Lord, I need You to touch me also, give me the strength I need to finish this mission for You this year, and the strength to keep it going into the new year. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, men, stepping up to the plate for your family, and ladies doing the same. And remember to share those blessings God has lent to You. Love ya... Pastor Dan.

December 15, 2010 The Big Trip 1-3
And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, Holy is His name. His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation."
Good Salvation Wednesday Morning to all you, my dear brothers and sisters. Oh my, it is cold here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, but I am not complaining for God is good and this too shall pass. I have not heard from my classmate, Bobbie, who lives in Florida, but according to our weather, you need not head to that state to get warm. Anyway, please today pray for the unsaved and pray that God uses each of us to lead in the lost. God is good and once we are saved, that is when the fun begins, for now we are working for God and not the other side. Praise God for He is good. Bless His Holy Name. Praise God... Let's get to the message.
The Big Trip 1-3: Luke 1:46 - And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, 49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me, Holy is His name. 50 His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation." (NIV)
I know that yesterday I told you we were going to be talking about Joseph today but God said to me early this morning, not yet, we have some more work to do with Mary, the expecting mother of Jesus.
As I look at the scriptures that God pointed out to me this morning I see just how Mary feels about being the mother of Jesus, but moreso I think in just being a servant of God and doing what He wants done. If we look at verses 46 and 47 we see that Mary is saying her soul glorifies the Lord and her spirit rejoices in Him... So how can our souls glorify the Lord? I think that the best way we, our souls, can glorify God is to not just go to church and raise your hands and sing praises to God, but to go out and live for Him in all we do. Not just talk about it but live it. You have heard that actions speak louder than words, and that is true. Folks, if we, and we meaning you and me, would get out our Bibles and read them and just follow the lead of our Lord Jesus, I think our actions will glorify the Lord, or it will glorify Satan. Yes, our actions are going to glorify God or the other guy, they will show where we really do stand. So I ask you again today, where do you stand? You have a choice, you cannot be a fence sitter all your life...
Moving on in the scripture Mary said that God was mindful of the humble state of His servant. What comes flying out at me is that Mary was ahumble servant of our Lord God. Do you humble yourself to God, are you humbled but what He does in your life? Even in our working for God, we need to be humble, we need to be sure that God gets the glory for our lives and the things we do and not we ourselves.
Then Mary knowing that she was very blessed to be chosen to carry the Lord Jesus in her womb and to also help raise him after his birth with the help of Joseph, of course. Mary said it this way as recorded in Luke and in the Bible that I use. "From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, Holy is His name." And yes the virgin Mary is honored over and over again, and more in some churches than in others. Mary was indeed blessed and the Lord did great things for her as the Bible tells us. But it was not always easy on Mary for she had to watch as her son was beaten and then hung on the cross, but she also got to see all that God planned for Him, and also got to witness her Son, Jesus, being raised up from the dead.
Now Mary also tells us that we need to fear God, and that if we fear Him, His mercy will be with us. "His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation." Now I know of people who say you do not need to fear God for He is all loving, and to that I say, you better get back into the word, for our all loving God is powerful and it is He who really has, in the end, the say over us. We have full freedom, we have freedom of choice, but we need to fear God in all we do. To fear God is to live in harmony with His will for us... Not always easy but needs done. Amen.
Dear Lord, on this Salvation Wednesday I ask that You, well, Lord, to use a term I have heard often, put the fear of God in all of us, so that we follow Your will for us... Help us this day to walk in Your light and let others see Your light in us, and help us to find the lost and bring them to Your feet. And Lord, thanks for the blessings again yesterday on our ministry to help others. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, living for Jesus, walking in Your light, and showing respect for others, including Mary, the mother of Jesus. Honor your parents and your children, honor your neighbor and of course honor God. And yes, I must say it... Share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 14, 2010 The Big Trip 1-2
In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth to a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to marry a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is cold, very cold here at the Southern Location of the North Pole... or maybe overnight someone moved us to the real North Pole!! I heard that long underwear is selling good in the deep south right now. Praise God for indoor plumbing, Thank You, Lord. We forget sometimes to thank God for those things we have each day. We just forget that all things good come from God. Today I ask you pray for our Ministry Partner and my singing partner, Pamela Bower, as her long time friend, Toby Martin, her Yorkshire Terrier, goes to his final resting place. Folks, yes there will be pets in heaven, please keep your faith in just how good God is.
Please pray for Eleanor Saylor who is in the hospital being checked for heart problems, also pray for Donavan who is having eye surgery, for Patrick who is having surgery, and for my wife Dolores. Also pray for our food pantry as we have our distribution this Saturday afternoon. Helpers please come by 1.00 PM. We will pray, make a plan and then there should be 50 families stopping by for their food. What a blessed day it will be.
The Big Trip 1-2: Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth to a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to marry a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you are highly favored! The Lord is with you. (NIV)
Please, brothers and sisters, take time to read the complete Christmas story in the book of Luke.
To get the trip really started I must take a step backwards today. Yes, a few weeks back we talked about Mary and how it must have felt to be in her shoes. But to get started on the trip to Bethlehem and the birthplace of Jesus, we will go back in when the Angel Gabriel stopped in to have a chat with Mary. Old Gab told Mary that God found favor in her, and told her she had been chosen by God to carry our Lord Jesus. God found favor in others along the way, one that comes to mind right now was Noah, and of course his family. So that brings me to this question today, when God needs special work done, has He found favor in you to carry out that work?
I want to tell you of this man that God found favor in and he along with some friends who God also found favor in, went out singing... His name is Neil Enloe. Now I know God found favor in him because he loaned to him great talent, talent to sing, talent to teach and preach, talent to play the piano and talent to be a song writer.
Anyway, if God would find favor in you today, would you also find favor in God? Oh, yes, it must work both ways. Think about it, if we did not find favor in God, then why would we be working with Him, why would I be writing each day and why in the world would you be taking your time to read these things and be passing them on? If you have not found favor in God, why would you go to church, or watch a program on that TV or why would you go to a Christmas show, or even take in a good gospel concert to hear people like Duane, Dave and Neil? Why, if you did not find favor in God, would you do all these things? Now I truly believe that God, while sending His Son to save us and the world, was and is and always will be looking to find favor in all of us. Yes, as we talk about the big trip and are just getting started on it, we can look ahead and find that Jesus wants to find favor in all of us, and we need to find favor in God. You see this wonderful gift of Love that God sent through Jesus, got its start that day when old Gab came to Mary and said, "Greetings". "Greetings, you are highly favored!" I am sure if you pray and you listen you will find at some time God is going to call on you personally and say I have found favor in you, will you answer the call, will you find favor in God?
Tomorrow, we move on, talk about Joseph and then get ready to start across the desert to that little town of Bethlehem...
Dear Father in Heaven, please, please end cancer, end heart problems, end those things that put people in pain. End them, Lord, we ask in the name of Jesus. Be with those on our prayer lists today, and bless them and heal them, Lord, as per Your will. Lord, please help us this week as we prepare for that big food distribution. Lord, we just cannot do this without You, and Your sending help. Bless all those who have helped us, and please bless all who receive from You, through us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Go forth now and answer the call for surely God has found favor in You, so share those blessings God has blessed you with. Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

December 13, 2010 The Big Trip 1-1
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman World.
Good Monday Morning to all of you from a very busy Southern Location of the North Pole. Today is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington, in our State Houses and Local Governments. It is also the day we pray for all of our military, the veterans and the current military and for our police and firefighters. Also pray for Lonewolf, and welcome her back to the line. She was the first one on the line and told me I should be writing and praying with people. She is having some breast surgery, please pray for NO CANCER. Please also keep Carry The Light Ministries in your prayers as we have a very, very busy week, ending with food distribution day on Saturday December 18th. We have a lot packed, and we also have a very big job to hand it out and then sort food that came in to restock the shelves. Things are going good, good is so good. For those of you who watch ABC27 news once again we are partnering up with them for the family that lost everything when a next door home fell down and took theirs out also. We are giving them food for now, and toys for Christmas. We had been asked to partner in with them at the United Methodist home for Christmas but were told by the home that they had plenty. And just yesterday a lady came to me at Allenberry Playhouse and ask if we wanted to purchase stuffed animals at a good price. She told me she could get them for $1.00 per large trash bag full. Of course I asked if they were good or bad and she said at that price I could pick the good ones and trash the others. So I said, yes as we give out many, many, and we purchase many of them new the day after Christmas to get the good prices. So where do the good used ones come from? The United Methodist Home for Children. She said they get so much they just go through and take the older ones and bag them. Yes, that was twice they said they get so much. Folks, we need to really look at where we give, and we need to remember that those same places like the Children's home might just need the help in summer. We must remember that people need to eat and need clothes year round and not just at Christmas and not just a meal.
For that reason among other reasons, our small in area but big in giving food pantry is OPEN YEAR ROUND. This year we are really working hard to have a really good stock of food on the shelves after our big day. And this year it looks like, with the help of many, many people this is going to happen. Now I must get to the message, but I think it is important to tell you about the ministry for we receive a lot of help from people on this line. Those checks we receive from you on this line add up... THANK YOU.
The Big Trip 1-1: Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman World. (NIV)
Please note The Big Trip is number 1-1 to start, for the Big Trip will be going on from now till after Easter, Lord willing of course. Let's get started... Come on, walk along, get on your bike, or drive your car, but come along please.
A census was used back in those days so they know who to tax and also who was ready for their military. So we have those census forms to fill out today or a census taker comes a knocking on your door. Do they just want a people count, well, it goes beyond that, they want to get everyone on the tax rolls. And folks, if they are going to tax you and me, then we all should pay them... after all we are to pay Caesar what is due him. And we must remember that we should pay God His share, and folks, we should pay Him first. However our government withhold it, God still trusts us... Amen. What does that mean to me, well we should trust God, trust Him in all we do, in everything because He first trusted us. But when it comes to Government, we need to trust but also keep our eyes open and ask questions. We need to work for God, but we do not need to work for our government, but if you work for them, that is ok, and most often a good job. And thanks for those who work in that job called Military.
Luke 2:2 - (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
Tomorrow we will talk about where people had to go to register, and then start looking at the folks going. The Trip, well, while boring today, will pick up, but I must lay that ground work.
Dear Father in Heaven, how wonderful You are, and today I want to just give You thanks for all You do for all of us, for Your healing hand on those with cancer and for those with heart problems and with all other problems. Please keep touching those who are waiting upon You for that healing touch. We pray today for our President, our other leaders in Washington, and our leaders throughout the country. Those in State Houses and Local governments. Lord, also for the leaders of our schools. Please also touch our veterans and our current military. Please, Lord, heal those from the wounds of battle, and Lord, a lot of those wounds that need healed are mental. Lord, bless our troops and keep them safe, and Lord, that means not just in war zones but also those healing from the stress of being away from family and are all over the world. I think, Lord, it is the hardest at this season when families like to be together to celebrate Your Birth. Lord, pleases bring our troops all home safe and soon and please return to give us full and lasting peace to all those who believe. Lord, we appreciate all You did and do and will do for Carry The Light Ministries. Lord, we still need help, and Lord, we still have food to help others. Lead us, Lord, to both... In the name of Jesus... Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, and remember that to say Happy Holidays is ok, but it is much better if you do say it that way to also add, MERRY CHRISTMAS... For folks, it really is Christmas, it is about a baby, the birth of our Savior and Lord Jesus. And we are going to follow Him from now to Easter. However we should all be walking with Him daily. Are you doing that? Love Ya. Pastor Dan.

December 10, 2010 Mr. Don Key 5
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Good Friday morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and it is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work for the Lord. We also have the following prayer requests in... For Kathleen Sansoni, her cancer is spreading and it has been found in her liver. Please storm heaven with requests for healing. Kathleen and husband Tom who now live in North Carolina were here last week and we anointed her with oil. I had the honor of marrying this wonderful couple a few years back. Also prayers for healing from cancer, Ron and Cindy... from Stokes, Pat and Pastor Charles, to get out of the wheelchair and walk again, Sharon and also Robert. Prayers for Zach who is in rehab. Also prayers for Lonewolf who is having surgery on Monday, they are looking for cancer... Call on God to get there ahead of the docs and heal her. And yes, please keep praying for Dolores, and for Carry The Light Ministries... This is the prime season for the food bank and we are not just a give for Christmas and then see you next year ministry, if you are working for God, you do it daily. Ok, one last day with Mr. Don Key.
Mr. Don Key 5: Luke 2:6 - While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born. 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (NIV)
First of all today I want to tell you that the complete Christmas journey will be written starting next week, this has just sort of been a message from my eyes, the eyes of Mr. Don Key, or donkey for short. Today I want to go right to the barn, yes the barn. You remember I told you about how my old grandpa took Mary, who was with child, across the desert and I told you about that cross on my back and the cross on his back, and I told you about other things. Gosh, this has been fun, and let me tell you that it was exciting to sort of relive what my old grandpa did that very first Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Today I want to take you into that barn, that stable, that one out behind the inn. You know my old grandpa would have spent the night there even if there was room in the inn, yes, I am sure they would not have left him up in a room. Could you even think that today they would let me sleep in a room at the Hilton? Donkey Hilton it would be called, or worse... Anyway on that first Christmas my old grandpa, and I keep wanting to say we, because it seems like I am right there... Anyway, Joseph sort of left old grandpa outside just standing there, he just knew he would not run away, and oh, yes, we donkeys can run. Anyway, Joseph and Mary went in to check in, and old grandpa knew that after getting a room, he would be back out to take old grandpa to the stable. But when he came out, Mary was still with Joseph, He put Mary back on the back of old grandpa and we went outback to the stable. Old grandpa said he overheard Joseph and Mary talking about no more room... Was there another inn down the road, NO, so I guess that they were also on the way to the old barn. Again Joseph left me stand and took Mary inside and got her comfortable, or as comfortable as a dear lady can be when she is about to deliver a child. That blanket that was on my back was taken from me and placed on the hay for Mary and then Joseph cleaned out a feed thingy and made a manger out of it, making the hay soft. The innkeeper gave Joseph some bedding, some blankets. Then Joseph came out and got old grandpa and took him in the barn also. Gosh, old grandpa said, this placed smells like a barn and there is a baby going to be born here. Yep, and soon I was standing there with other barn animals. Do you know the Bible does not really tell you what animals were there, but Grandpa sort of passed on down who was there in the animal line. And everyone he said was so quiet, so very quiet. The camels, and there was a lot of them who came across the desert, were being fed outside but inside there were, well a big old cow who must have given milk for the people at the inn, and there was a couple of horses, and a mule, and there were other animals, sheep, goats, why old grandpa said it was starting to look like a little ark. And those chickens, they were running around, and old grandpa was thinking, were they going to be the dinner at the inn... Anyway all of a sudden it got quiet, no Hee Haw from me, no mooing from the cattle, and not even one cluck from the chickens. Then there He was, and Mary who delivered Jesus, wrapped Him in clothes and put Him in the manger. Then it happened, it got bright, as bright as day as a star rose up over the stable. And then old grandpa and all the others talked, Moo, cluck, cluck, hee haw, oh gosh how we animals rejoiced for UNTO US A CHILD WAS BORN AND HE WAS THE KING, and folks, He, Jesus, was and is and always will be The King and guess what, He loves you, but He loves us donkeys and all other animals also. Thanks for listening to my report of what happened back in the day when Jesus was born. Thank You, I love You... Mr. Don Key, and now back to that good looking handsome old preacher who needs a shave and a haircut... here he is...
Let's pray... Please, dear Lord, take care of the animals, those animals You love so much, please help them stay warm on these cold days and nights. Dear Lord, please look over our prayer list and honor our prayers according to Your will... Watch over all who work in Your fields of harvest and protect them and like Dolores and me, give us strength to carry on for You. Help all who work in the fields of harvest for you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
I hoped you like seeing things from the eyes of the donkey, it has been a hoot writing it as Jesus gave it to me. That's right, Jesus gave it to me. Do you think for one minute I could do this alone each day? No, God plants it on my mind. Now go forth and share your blessings. Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

December 9, 2010 Mr. Don Key 4
"Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me."
Good Morning. my dear brothers and sisters, it is cold, Brrrr, here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Today is families day and also schools day on the line, so please pray for all families, including the family in the White House, and pray for all the families on this line. Also pray for all schools and all that go through the doors or have their hands on the schools in anyway. Pray for the school bus drivers and the crossing guards also, as they are part of the schools family. Again I ask for prayers for Dolores. I know our good Lord is hearing our prayers, and will answer them in His time. However I am not going to stop praying. I do not know how she deals with all the pain she has. Also pray for God to give me strength to handle all of this while our mission to help others is in full gear. Just yesterday we received a "list" of names from Children in Youth. Thank you so much for your support with prayers, your coming to help, your donations of food and dollars. So you know that our bottom line with the ministry is salvation... The first sixty families coming for food on the 18th will receive a New Testament Bible, with the way to Salvation Marked...
Mr. Don Key 4: Matthew 21:1 - As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and He will send them right away." 4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: 5 Say to the daughter of Zion, 'See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'" (NIV)
Well, folks, I really hate to brag about my great, great, great, well, you know, lots of greats here, but my old granddad and my old Uncle, I will call him old uncle Jack. I told you about my old grandpa, but today I just want to talk to you about my old uncle Jack and what he did. Again, He got to give Jesus a ride into the town of Jerusalem on what we have come to know as Palm Sunday.
You see those disciples found my old Uncle Jack, along with his mother, my old Aunt Sarah. I named her Sarah, because that was the name of the mother of the good looking, handsome gentleman who is writing about my family. I am stretching that good looking thing a tad, the man really needs a haircut and a shave, but that will not happen. Anyway, folks, those disciples found those two old donkeys just as Jesus said they would and they brought them to Jesus. Then it got really exciting, why, people put their cloaks on that little guy and then Jesus got on top of Him to ride him in. Again, we find that cross I talked about yesterday, the one on their backs and mine also. Do you carry the cross for Jesus? I do pray that you do! Again I think we got picked, we meaning my ancestors, to carry the Lord, and again I think because we are surefooted and give a nice smooth ride. I want to also point out to you that this donkey colt was never ridden before, meaning it was a virgin, so to speak, just like Mary who was transported by my old grandpa.
Oh, how the people loved Jesus back that day, why my old Uncle really had to be careful and surefooted as people were laying branches from the trees on the road and even put cloaks on the road, oh, how old Unk was careful not to stumble and dump Jesus. This was his first job and the most important job he ever had, in fact those two rides were the most important rides we donkeys ever gave and we have over the years done some really neat things. Old Uncle told of how the people cheered and shouted and he wanted all of those of us that came after him to know that cheering was not for him, not for the donkey colt, but for our Lord Jesus, yes, Jesus was and is and always will be Lord of all and that means us animals also. Jesus loves us all. Well, folks, I will talk to you again near Palm Sunday about those rides we gave to Jesus.
Tomorrow I will talk to you about other animals who might have been in that stable on that first Christmas. Now I am going to turn this back over to that old man we call Pastor Dan, or Santa this time of year. Pastor tells me he would love to have a tiny donkey just to show people the cross and let the kids pet it, but Dolores might put her foot down or might have something to say about that. Anyway, here is Pastor Dan.
I think the donkey said it all today, except to pray... so let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, please come and heal us from our sins and our hurts and ills, please, Lord, we give thanks in the name of Jesus for all You do for us, thanks for the messages this week, and please, Lord, guide my mind this coming Sunday when I preach on the donkey and His role in Your life. Lord, how You must love all animals for You saved them in the days of Noah. Lord, please bless families, all families including the family of God and the family in the White House. Bless also our schools and all who have anything to do with them. And Lord, help us all this season as we work to help those who have less then we... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share those blessings... and when you see a donkey, check out the cross, and please as you walk in the light of Jesus, help, please help carry His cross. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

December 8, 2010 Mr. Don Key 3
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through me."
Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is cold here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and let me tell you this Santa likes the warm weather better, but hey, I will take each day that God gives me on earth and love it. Please pray today for the unsaved and that their hearts will be opened to receive the FREE GIFT of Salvation that Jesus gave us when He went to the cross. It is so sad when you see people who will not take the best free gift one could get. Also pray that God uses all of us who are saved to work those fields of Harvest and help bring the lost to Jesus. When working this very important task for Jesus please remember that we cannot save a soul, that is the work of our Lord Jesus, we just need to be the workers and bring the lost to Jesus.
Please, please keep praying for Dolores, please pray, storm heaven with your prayers for her. She is bent over so far I am afraid she is going to fall forward when she walks, she has pain in her one knee that she is rubbing it all the time, and she has had both knees replaced, the one that pains so much has been replaced (meaning a second new knee). Still she is a trooper, puts on that Mrs. Claus dress and goes out on the bus making people smile... But today, she is staying home and resting.
Mr. Don Key 3: John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through me."
Well, let me get back to my story, first you do not need to call me, Mr. Don Key, you can just call me donkey or old Hee Haw. Again to bring you up to date it was my great, great, great, great, well you get the picture, let me call him my old, old grandpa. He was such a neat guy, young, and Joseph, you know Joseph trusted him so much. I mean Joseph could have put Mary with the baby Jesus in her tummy up on a horse or camel, but oh, that ride would have been so hard. When it comes to us animals, we donkeys are so soft riding and so sure footed that my one friend named Charles told me that we were sometimes called "hooftie" because we are so sure footed. Anyway on that big night when all those folks were heading to Bethlehem, Joseph went and put a rope on my old grandpa and put Mary up on his back, and we started out across the desert. Old grandpa would tell the story of how they just walked, and there were other people and animals that would come up with us, I mean everyone was heading out there to register. But my Grandpa was carrying a very, very important load that night. While most of the donkeys were packed with supplies, my old grandpa was carrying Mary and Jesus and on that night something special happened besides the Birth. Or at least I think it happened that night, but if you ever would see me, or any of my relatives right now you would see we are indeed the Lord's animal for to this day we carry the cross for Jesus. Yes, I am so proud of the cross on my back, and what a day for me to tell you about the cross, for I understand that Pastor Dan is talking about Salvation on this Wednesday. You see I am a dark color, really handsome if I must say so myself, a dark brown, and I have a light colored cross on my back. Oh, if you could only see it, that light stripe goes from my neck all the way down to my, well my butt, Hee Haw, Hee Haw, did I really say butt, Hee Haw, I should have said my backside. Anyway, I also have that stripe, that light color that goes over my shoulders forming the cross. My dear brother has light coat with a dark stripe, but the cross is still there and I have never seen any of my relations without a cross.
Maybe all those democrats who are not believers but use us as a symbol should take a look at the cross on our backs, now I know that some believe in Jesus, but so many don't want us to talk about Jesus and the cross.
Speaking of the cross, did you know that Jesus went to the cross to carry your sins there? You see, my old grandpa carried Jesus before He was born and my great, great, great, well you get the picture, my old uncle carried Jesus later on, we will talk about that tomorrow or Friday. But let me talk to you about that cross, will you pick up the cross today and carry it for Jesus? What I mean by that is will you be willing to come to Jesus and renew or just get saved the first time and then carry that cross to the world and tell the good news to all people about how Jesus will save you from your sins and you can go to heaven? Will you pray with me today this prayer of forgiveness, because in the Bible it tells you that if you confess and believe that You will be saved, oh and then you must do like me, go to work for Jesus... I still carry His cross, what do you do? Oh, this really good looking, very handsome Pastor will now lead you in prayer...
Oh, that Mr. Don Key was so kind calling me handsome, but hay, yes I spelled it like that just to make old Hee Haw happy... Anyway, let me get serious about this now. You know I love all of you and the main reason I write daily is for the salvation message. So will you take time to pray with me? I can't pray this one for you, only lead you.
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and clean me as white as the new fallen snow. I do believe in You, dear Jesus, and I believe you died for me and were risen from the dead and now will judge me someday for Heaven. Please, dear Lord, I know I am not worthy, but I ask today that You forgive me and start me new today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Tomorrow, back to Mr. Don Key... I am having fun writing this, can you tell? Remember now, it is to tell you to share those blessings... and also if you are coming to help put out the food for others on the 18th of December in the afternoon, let me know... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
