Tuesday 10/27/15 Assignments (6)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thanks for all You do for all of us including me. Thanks for watching over family and friends. Thanks for watching over this line and protecting it from hackers. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins and sinful thoughts. Thanks for doing that. Please, Lord, be with Pastor Bob, his assigned flock and their release time ministry. Thanks for taking care of us each day, Lord. Please help me with the message of today and then, please, dear Lord, help me to get it dispatched. In the name of Jesus, I pray and give thanks. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, yesterday I just touched a tad on one who came before Jesus and his assignment for God. Yes,  his name was John the Baptist and the description of him in the Bible sort of reminds me of what I look like. I have that wild look, I guess, and I never do go to a barber shop. I do have a question about men. Why, when our hair starts to come out on our heads, does it take root in our ears? Well, let me get to the message.

Tuesday: October 27, 2015: Assignments (Day Six)

John 1:6 - There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. (NIV)

Here in scripture we can see that "John The Baptist" was on an assignment. In verse 6 There came a man who was sent from God;  his name was John. Here is a little more from scripture about what John did.

Luke 3:3 - He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord,make straight paths for him. 5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. 6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'" (NIV)

PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD. Is that not something we should be still teaching and preaching? Telling others for indeed we need to be preparing the way for the Lord for He is going to come again? You do believe that He is coming again, right? And of course our one assignment is to get that Word out to the masses. Here are just a few questions. You are ready, correct? Are you doing your part to help others get ready? Or are you leaving that up to others? I can remember as a child, not just those bell ringers in front of stores seeking dollars for the Salvation Army, but I also remember the Salvation Army Band playing. I want you to think about this. An Army is what defends our country, a large group of men and women and of course more than one branch of our military, but for this we will call them the Army. Now we know not one person can get the Word of the Lord to everyone, it takes an Army, an Army of men and women to get that job done. A Salvation Army! Yes, an army of men and women telling about Salvation through Jesus. You do not need to belong to the local Salvation Army Church to work for the Salvation Army, we just need to get the job done. Although the Salvation Army Church is a good Christian church. How about you, are you ready to march in the army? Let us sing about it.

Onward, Christian Soldiers

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the Royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle, see His banners go.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Like a mighty army moves the Church of God,
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we.
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward then ye faithful, join our happy throng.
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King.
This thro' countless ages men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before. (Just one more time)

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Dear Father in Heaven. I want to march in Your army. I want to tell others about Jesus and the Cross. Help me with it, Lord, help me with it. Also, Lord, help me remember that the important part of being baptized is the repentance that John was talking about, so help me repent. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth please and serve Jesus.  MARCH IN HIS ARMY. Love ya.

Pastor Dan
