Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I don't just love You but I have faith in Your Word and I believe in what I learn in the Bible and what You give to me directly. Thanks for watching over us another day and night. Please, Lord, watch over Your children in the way of Hurricane Patricia and keep them safe. I pray the storm will go to sea. Please quiet the storm as we know You can if it is in Your will. I pray today, Lord, for family and friends. I also pray today for all the pastors who follow this line. I pray You fill their hearts with the Holy Ghost and fill their assigned churches to the max for the messages on Sunday. May we praise You over and over again for all things good. May we give thanks to You for all things. Please, Lord, help me with the message for today and the help me to get it dispatched. Again, Lord Jesus, I love You and I pray in Your Name. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I am having fun writing for the Lord. It is an assignment I take very seriously, very seriously. We have again added new people to the line, and I invite all of you to ask others if they might want to receive the messages. Have you received an assignment from God? Are you doing that assignment? Are you enjoying doing it? Some assignments might not be as pleasant as others, but we must, if we really love Jesus, get them all done. I want to tell you that as an owner of service stations back in the days of full service, we had well-used rest rooms. Sometimes they would really get messed up. If they were really a mess, I would go and clean them myself. Why do I bring that up? I don't believe that God would ever assign you a job that He would not do Himself. He never once asked any of us to die for Him, but He did warn us that if we lived for Him and worked for Him it could cost us even our very own life. I stand ready to die for my faith, how about you?
Brothers and sisters, I want to look at some other assignments from God that are recorded in the Bible. Let us get going. Oh, I want to tell you again. I love you.
Friday: October 23, 2015: Assignments (Day Three)
Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of The Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His Kingdom will never end." 34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "Since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of The Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37 For nothing is impossible with God." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, that is one great and rewarding assignment from God. But think about all that would come along with that. She would be with child and not married. Now, not many people think much about that, but back years ago even when I was in school there was a shame put on girls who became pregnant when in school. They also had to drop out of school and I would say many never returned after giving birth to the child. Mary would need to face her family and friends, and of course she would need to tell Joseph. Ladies, can you just think about going to the one you are engaged to and telling them you were going to have a baby, yet you never had with them? On today's stage the comment might be, "goodbye!" Or who do you think you are, Mary? Yes, this assignment from God would not be easy. Think about this as you weigh in your mind some of the assignments that God has given to you. Would you answer as Mary did? Let us look at Mary's answer.
Luke 1:38 - "I am the Lord's servant, " Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, look at those five words. "I am the Lord's servant." How long has it been since any one of us has told someone else, "I am the Lord's servant"? How long has it been since you have ever told the Lord, "I am your servant, Jesus"? How long since you even asked the Lord for an assignment? I think we should not wait for Jesus to hand us an assignment as we do have those listed in our Bibles, but we should also ask Jesus if He has anything else that we could and should do for Him, to support His Kingdom. There is not a day that goes by that we could not be doing something for God. Yes, we all can pray and we should be doing that each day. But what if God would hand you an assignment that you did not want to do, would you do it anyway? God will not give you any assignment to do without giving you the tools, the strength, the wisdom and knowledge to get it done. We just need to have faith that He is with us as we do the assignment. Do you think God walked away from Noah after He gave him the assignment to build the ark? No, he was there with Noah and for him and even had the animals come to the ark. By the way, the answer to my question, what living creatures did not make it on the ark? It was easy and not a trick question. Those living creatures would be the creatures of the sea, the fish, lobsters, and all those good things of the sea, for they could just remain in the flooded water. One of the best dinners you can eat comes from water, we call it poor man's lobster. It is carp, and here is how you cook it. Get some good hard wood for your grill. Clean your carp really well. Put it on a solid piece of hardwood and cook it with slow heat on the grill. Flip the fish on the hardwood after about one hour. After another hour, take the carp and put it out for the wild animals, lightly salt the hardwood and eat it. Okay, back to the message.
Do you think that God walked away from Mary after she became with child? Of course not, and He will not today nor will He ever walk away from you. Even if you do not do the assignments. God will not leave you. He will never leave nor forsake you. Have faith, brothers and sisters. God will be with us forever and ever.
Dear Father in Heaven, please let us know our assignments for today and the weekend. Please help us with them. Help us walk in faith to get them done. Help us when we stumble and fall. Help us up and get right back in step with You. Help us also dig deeper into Your Word found in our Bibles to learn the assignments that are for all of us. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Please go forth now walking in love and faith and trusting in God and please spread the good news of Jesus and His Love. Love ya.
