Salvation Wednesday 10/21/15 Assignments (1)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and thank You for forgiving all others who just love You and ask to be forgiven. How loving You are and how excited I am that You never change. You are indeed the only constant in our lives in our world each day. Please heal Sally from her fall, and heal Krissy from her fall, and also please heal Patricia from her fall. Please, Lord, protect us all from falling except for one fall, and for that I say please help us to "fall deeper and deeper in love with You, dear Lord." The older we get the more we seem to stumble. Lord, please protect this line and please, dear Lord, refresh my mind to be writing daily. My mind seems to be drawing a blank some days. Please  help me now with the message and then to get it dispatched. May my writings please You, dear Lord. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters: Please be careful. I am getting reports of a lot of people falling. And take it from this old man, a fall will not hurt you, it is that sudden hit when you stop. One thing I must watch is falling asleep on the throne and then falling face first. I said once before someone should invent seat belts for potties. Of course then someone would need to start a government agency to see if they are being used. I guess the one in charge of that department might be the "Head Person." Okay, so much for this. Let me get to a new subject, "Assignments."

Happy birthday to our oldest daughter, Danelle. Enjoy your day, good-looking.

Salvation Wednesday: October 21, 2015: Assignments (Day One)

Genesis 6:11 - Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them, I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, each day we get up we have some assignments to do. Some might be remaining from the day before, for some the assignments might be the same from day to day, and for others the assignments might change from day to day or even hour by hour or minute by minute. Some of our assignments might even be given to us by us, meaning we have made our own assignments. Today Dolores has an assignments, as she has a doctor's appointment. However, I know she has other assignments, as so do I.

Have you ever been given an assignment that you thought to yourself or even talked about with others, I just cannot do this, you might have said, or maybe you said, wow, this is a piece of cake. Maybe you were given an assignment from your boss and your job depended on it and you are thinking, this man is crazy if he thinks I can get this done. Today I want all of you to think about a few things. How would you like to have been Noah? When I headed up the transportation department at Central Dauphin School District, I am sure that I had some people thinking "this man is nuts" and I am sure I was called a few names. Some of the very best employees would get those really hard assignments, for we in business have learned that "you whip the lead horse." This is a saying coming from those who drove a team of horses. Yes, when you wanted things done you would know who you had to lean on to get it done. Right before school  would open each year I would lean hard on my driver trainers. They would work some long and hard hours to get new drivers up TO THE STANDARDS THAT WE WANTED at Central Dauphin. We, thanks to all those involved, did not want a second-rate staff of mechanics, drivers, or even the one who would clean the building. We wanted it done right. If you come out of a food store and drop a dozen eggs and they break, you can go back and get more. It does not work that way with driving a school bus. You could not then nor can you today replace your cargo if you mess it up.

Well, think about the assignment that God handed to Noah, and why. Because God found favor with Noah. Noah loved God and God gave Noah a really hard assignment to get it done. God also told Noah how He wanted it done. Over the next few days I will be writing about Noah and the Ark and we will look at just some of the things Noah had to do for God. Brothers and sisters, God is still handing out assignments, and handing them out for each and every one of us to do. What is your assignment for God this day? If you do not know, please pray about it. One thing for sure, we all have one assignment from God that is the same for all of us. Do you know what that might be? Let me know, and be sure to read tomorrow and I will point that out to you and show it to you in scripture.  Okay, let us pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, please bring on our assignments and please help us to get them done for we know we cannot get them done without Your loving and kind help. We give thanks this day, our Salvation Wednesday, if You would help us to reach the lost and lead them to You to be saved. We love You, Jesus, and pray in Your name. Amen.

Now go forth, dear brothers and sisters, and please share the Love of Jesus with others. Love ya.

Pastor Dan

By the way, I, with few exceptions, would never give an assignment to an employee that I would not do myself, with the exception of climbing. Those assignments were handed off to my very capable assistant "Chief Robert Lee Coburn." Thanks, Bob.
