Saturday 10/31/15 Assignments (9)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I want to thank You for being with me today and also with members of my late brother's family as they gathered together for the funeral service of Stephen Lehman. Thanks for the safe out and safe back. Father, please be with those who we have been praying for this past week. Please, Lord, be with the families of those lost in the airplane crash. Lord, please help us to reach others before it is too late. Please, Lord, I want to be part of that through this line. Lord, so many think heaven is automatic. Thanks for dying for all of us, Lord, and forgiving all who ask. Lord, please help me now with another message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In the Name of Jesus, I give thanks and praise. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, today we all have one assignment that is the same. Okay, more than one, but one here on earth. Tomorrow morning at 2:00 AM, we turn the clocks back one hour. I was told that you gain back the hour that we lost in the spring. That is just not true. Wanting to do things right, I set my alarm for 2:00 AM and in the spring I wake up and set it to 3:00 AM and lose 1 hour sleep, right? Right! In the all I did the same thing, I set my alarm at 2:00 AM and when it went off, I got up and turned the clock back an hour. Then at 2:00 that clock went off again, so I got up and turned the clock back an hour. Then at 2:00 AM that darn old clock went off again, so I got up and turned it back an hour. And so it went, until I noticed it was daylight and I must have been doing something wrong. Worst night's sleep I ever had. Okay, so I made the story up, and yes, I have been telling it for years, and you are indeed welcome to use it. I have learned since then to just turn it back before going to bed. But wait, be careful, sometimes if you turn it back, it just might be turned back again since a lot of things are automatic. Well, getting into heaven is not automatic, so let me get to another assignment from God.

Saturday: October 31, 2015: Assignments (Day Nine)

Mark 12:28 - One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked Him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" 29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is one, 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'" 31 "The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (NIV)

Two more great assignments from our Lord Jesus Christ. Which one might be the harder to do? If we would learn to follow these two assignments they would indeed cover all ten of the ones we talked about yesterday. Think about this real hard. Which of these two must we really follow if we are going to go to heaven? Both of them, of course. There are a few things I want to point out about both of them.

In verse 30 it tells us we have to Love the Lord that would be Jesus Christ, and we must do it with ALL of our heart, soul, mind and strength. It does not say some of it or part of it, or every now and then, this means all the time, ALL THE TIME. Once we really fall in love with Jesus that gets a lot easier to do, but sometimes we slip on it. Oh, the love goes on, but some days maybe our heart is not in it like it should be. Maybe we are having a bad day. But that is when we should come nearer to Him. Some days our minds might wander or take a walk so to speak, and don't tell me it never happened to you. And as for our strength, and this is now how strong your muscles are, this is tied in with your mind. This is why we must use them all together, our heart, soul, mind and strength, to love our Lord Jesus and it needs to be done 24/7.

In verse 31 it talks about Loving your neighbor as yourself. Now I talked about this one some time back. First things first, we need to love ourselves. Yes, that does not mean we put ourselves ahead of others, but we do need to love ourselves. So go take a look in the mirror and tell yourself, I love you! I mean if you hate yourself, how could you love someone else? Now let us look at who our neighbors are. They are not just the person next door or across the street. They are not just the ones living behind you, they are worldwide. This morning an airliner went down. Everyone on-board was killed. I do pray they knew Jesus. All of those on-board were our neighbors, and I understand all were from Russia. Your next door neighbors are those of different colors. Remember the song from Vacation Bible School. Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. RED AND YELLOW, BLACK AND WHITE, they are precious in His sight? Now there are blended families, and we need to love them all.

So our assignments from God today, Love God and ALL others, including our very own selves. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, please help me to love, and t love more and more each day. Help me learn that the greatest gift that You gave to all of us was/is love, for You sent Jesus to die for us, and Father that is great love. Thanks for doing that for us. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, let us go out singing that Vacation Bible School song. I am going to do the words by heart, and it has been a long time since I went to Bible School.

Jesus love the little children, all the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black or white,
they are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Jesus love the little children, all the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black or white,
they are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

How did I do? Can you believe today is the last day of October? Fifty-five days until Christmas. I wonder, can I be a bear and sleep from Christmas to Easter?

Friday 10/30/15 Assignments (8)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thanks for another great day. Thanks for safety on the highway. Lord, please be with the family of Stephen Lehman in their time of sorrow. Father, please be with our leaders and with our country, and please help people learn more and more each day how to love You and to love each other. Thanks, Lord, and all honor and glory to You for a great report from the surgeon today. Again, Lord, all honor and glory to You. Please  help me with the message and please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I give praise and pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, great news this day as I had my final check on the surgery from October 5th. All is good, with a warning not to lift anything heavy. I did not get to the computer yesterday as I was sitting out front watching for "empty hot dogs," you know, "hollow wieners." I had about ten bags of candy, had two people stop, but it was nice as some deer were within 25 or 30 feet of me, and a couple of feral cats jumped up on my lap as I sat on my scooter. As for the leftover candy, I think I am on a sugar high today.

I am loving these messages God has been giving me on assignments. We have not even touched on the best ones yet. Are you getting your assignments done, both those here on earth and also those laid out in our Bibles? Let me get to the message.

Friday: October 30, 2015: Assignments (Day Eight)

Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words. 2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, please get out your Bible and read Exodus 20:1 through 17. These would be what we know as the "Ten Commandments." For today let me refer to them as the "Ten Assignments" coming right from God. One television program that I like is Family Feud and on one show the question was how many of the Ten Commandments have you broken? The lady answered "seven." Of course the host made a big joke about it. As for me, I got to thinking how many of them over the years have I broken? No, no, I am not going to tell you, I confess to Jesus, but let me tell you this right here and now. I am glad I serve a Savior who forgives us of our past. Right now someone should be thinking "me too."

But as I looked all of these over they are indeed assignments from God. I also want you to notice that God used the same tool on these commandments as He did when He formed the earth. I did ask you what that tool was and today I will tell you that it was His tongue as He spoke creation in the beginning and He spoke the Ten Commandments. I know you folks were thinking He must have used "Facebook" or a cell phone but really they were not made yet. I wonder if our younger generation knows that.

Do you ever wonder what it must have been like to have everything you ever needed and messed up and lost it all? Think about it, do you know anybody at all, past or present, that had everything they needed in life and lost it all? And when they messed up and lost it all, it caused everyone in the world a problem. Might you know who I am talking about? If you know who, tell me, please. Yes, I do know who it was.

Okay, let us go out singing today. I know you just love to sing.

This is the Day (Les Garrett)

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made,
that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it,
and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.

Dear Father in Heaven: Indeed this is the day You have made, because You make them all. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins, and Lord, help me to Love You more and more each day. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Please go forth and serve Jesus. Love ya.

Pastor Dan

Let's go out singing.

Salvation Wednesday 10/28/15 Assignments (7)

Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for a great day and thanks so much for the much-needed rain. Lord, I want to praise You for the job You furnished Jim Orner and praise You for this line and all who it is reaching. Please, Lord, on this our Salvation Wednesday, help us to reach out to others in Your name and help bring them in to be saved. Please, Lord, place Your healing hand on the following this day. Vicki for pain -- Glenn Gamber for infection or another unknown problem. Ray Orner Sr. -- surgery to open an artery in his neck. Barb who is having a procedure. Shirley Oiler, double pneumonia, and Jamie Smith, a stroke. I love You, Lord, and thank You for all things good, which, Lord, today that would have been all things. Lord, please protect this line and please help me with the message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, today a blimp got loose from its tethered location outside of Washington, DC. It was trailering a long cable and hit power lines along the way. It finally came down near Bloomsburg, PA. I understand it got too far from Washington, DC, and "ran out of HOT AIR." Okay, after you laugh, I know they are not filled with hot air and I am thankful no one was hurt. All glory to God for that.

I got a nice note from my dear brother in Christ, Tom Sansoni, who loves when we do some singing as it lifts his spirits. Thanks, Tom, singing lifts mine also.

After doing a lot of thinking and some praying and research, I was trying to find someone in the Bible who made assignments for himself to do. I found one. I got to thinking all my years as a supervisor I assigned myself to things, but I had people over me who also assigned me things to get done. Even when owning my own business when I did most of the assignments, I had others assign me things to do. Like the tax people, etc. So this got interesting to me. Who would be the only one who need not take an assignment from someone else? Let us go to scripture and find out.

Salvation Wednesday: October 28, 2015: Assignments (Day Seven)

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 AND GOD SAID... (NIV)

Dear brothers and sisters, please take time to sit down, or lay down and curl up with your Bible and go right to the beginning and read the creation story. I am not going to type all of that out for you. After thinking and thinking and praying about who would be the only one that could make an assignment for Himself and no other party would be changing it, or while He was working on it would change His assignment, if I would have been praying and praying about it then thinking about it, I would have come up with the answer faster, but again, I start out thinking and looking before I talked to God about it. When will I or we ever learn to start out with God? It sure would save us some work.

So we find out right away in scripture that  God The Father assigned Himself this assignment. Then He used one tool for most of creation, that tool now has become one of the most wicked tools known to man. Any one of you know what tool was used the most in Creation? You don't? Then go and reread the story. I am not going to tell you until tomorrow. I feel like singing. I do know this, God did creation quicker than He made me. Here is a little song that talks about that. Let us go out singing again today. Tom will like this one.

He's Still Working On Me (Joel Hemphill)

He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
the Sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be! He's still working on me.

He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
the Sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be! He's still working on me.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for making all  that we have that is good, and I do thank You for not giving up on me. I love You more and more each day, and I am really learning to appreciate that You indeed still have Your hand upon us all. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks. Amen.

Now brothers and sisters, go forth loving and sharing Jesus and please take sometime to sing and be happy. Let us sing this just one more time.

He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
the Sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be! He's still working on me.

Tuesday 10/27/15 Assignments (6)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thanks for all You do for all of us including me. Thanks for watching over family and friends. Thanks for watching over this line and protecting it from hackers. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins and sinful thoughts. Thanks for doing that. Please, Lord, be with Pastor Bob, his assigned flock and their release time ministry. Thanks for taking care of us each day, Lord. Please help me with the message of today and then, please, dear Lord, help me to get it dispatched. In the name of Jesus, I pray and give thanks. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, yesterday I just touched a tad on one who came before Jesus and his assignment for God. Yes,  his name was John the Baptist and the description of him in the Bible sort of reminds me of what I look like. I have that wild look, I guess, and I never do go to a barber shop. I do have a question about men. Why, when our hair starts to come out on our heads, does it take root in our ears? Well, let me get to the message.

Tuesday: October 27, 2015: Assignments (Day Six)

John 1:6 - There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. (NIV)

Here in scripture we can see that "John The Baptist" was on an assignment. In verse 6 There came a man who was sent from God;  his name was John. Here is a little more from scripture about what John did.

Luke 3:3 - He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. 5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. 6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'" (NIV)

PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD. Is that not something we should be still teaching and preaching? Telling others for indeed we need to be preparing the way for the Lord for He is going to come again? You do believe that He is coming again, right? And of course our one assignment is to get that Word out to the masses. Here are just a few questions. You are ready, correct? Are you doing your part to help others get ready? Or are you leaving that up to others? I can remember as a child, not just those bell ringers in front of stores seeking dollars for the Salvation Army, but I also remember the Salvation Army Band playing. I want you to think about this. An Army is what defends our country, a large group of men and women and of course more than one branch of our military, but for this we will call them the Army. Now we know not one person can get the Word of the Lord to everyone, it takes an Army, an Army of men and women to get that job done. A Salvation Army! Yes, an army of men and women telling about Salvation through Jesus. You do not need to belong to the local Salvation Army Church to work for the Salvation Army, we just need to get the job done. Although the Salvation Army Church is a good Christian church. How about you, are you ready to march in the army? Let us sing about it.

Onward, Christian Soldiers

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the Royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle, see His banners go.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Like a mighty army moves the Church of God,
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we.
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward then ye faithful, join our happy throng.
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King.
This thro' countless ages men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before. (Just one more time)

Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war;
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Dear Father in Heaven. I want to march in Your army. I want to tell others about Jesus and the Cross. Help me with it, Lord, help me with it. Also, Lord, help me remember that the important part of being baptized is the repentance that John was talking about, so help me repent. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth please and serve Jesus.  MARCH IN HIS ARMY. Love ya.

Monday 10/26/15 Assignments (5)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I give thanks for a beautiful Sunday and a great church service where hundreds came forward to be saved. Please be with all of them this day and hold onto them tightly. Father, thanks for sending Jesus to die for us so that we could be saved, and Jesus, thanks for standing in and dying for me on the cross. Thanks for cleaning me with Your blood Oh, I just love You so very much. Thanks, Lord, for giving me the ability to forgive and also to love all others. What a great blessing You are. Please, Lord, help me to reach someone in Your Name this day. Please, Lord, watch over Dolores and carry some of her pain. Please, Lord, help me with the daily message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In the wonderful Name of Jesus, I give thanks and pray. Amen.

Good Monday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What is your assignment or assignments for this day? You know it is a lot of fun on some days to look back to the days of my childhood and try to remember some of the assignments that my Mamma gave me to do. I loved her dearly, but some of those assignments. "It is time to go to bed, remember to wash behind your ears and to brush your teeth. DON'T JUST WET THE BRUSH." How did she know? And as much as she knew, our Lord God knows all that we do and even worse than that, He knows what we are going to do. Over the years I am trying harder and harder to follow His assignments above all others and above all else. Today I want to look at an assignment that is for all of us and maybe another that is listed in our Bibles. Please, as you pray today, take time to pray for our veterans, our current military, our police and firefighters, and our first responders, regardless of the title they carry. Let me get to the message.

Monday: October 26, 2015: Assignments (Day Five)

Mark 13:32 - "No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor The Son, but only The Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back -- whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let Him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you I say to everyone, 'Watch!'" (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, one assignment that we are NOT assigned to do is to try and figure out when Jesus is going to come back for all who are saved, come back for His bride. Our assignment from God is to be ready for whenever that time might be and to tell  others that good news. As we can see in our scripture for today, no one knows the time of the return of Jesus, not even Jesus Himself. Our assignment is to "Be on Guard!" "To be Alert!" We are to keep watch and in fact that is mentioned a couple of times in just these few verses. In verse 35 "Therefore keep watch." And in verse 37 Jesus said, "What I say to you I say to everyone, 'Watch!'" And of course while we are on Guard, being Alert and Watching we also should be Carrying His Word to others.

Yesterday morning Dolores and I had church in our living room. We start out doing our daily scripture from "Our Daily Bread." Then she goes to the piano and plays some worship choruses and I get some singing in. (Please say some prayers for my voice. I am sort of losing it.) After that we turn on Jimmy Swaggart Ministries for their live church service. Yesterday grandson Gabriel was to preach, but the Holy Spirit took over the service. During the singing of Amazing Grace people started to come forth to the altar and get on their knees, confessing themselves over to Christ. The Holy Spirit got stronger and stronger and more people would come forth. An altar call had not yet been given. Pastor Gabriel went with the Holy Spirit and decided not to peach. Soon he was also in tears and then he called others who wanted to come to Christ to come forth. It was a great service and his sermon, well, he will preach that another day, I hope. He is a really good preacher and pastor.

But why bring this up? I just wanted to point out just how right in the middle of an assignment that Christ gives He might just change up His mind. When we work for our Lord Jesus, we must, I say WE MUST be ready to make that change right on the spot. I know when working with bus drivers years ago, I had to make a lot of last minute changes on assignments and those who worked under my watch were for the most part ready and willing to have assignments changed. Sometimes and more so in bad weather, they would see changes in assignments coming and go ahead and make the changes knowing that Bob (my assistant) and I had their backs.

When we need to make a change in assignments that God has given us sometimes we might not even have time to pray about it. It could come up just that fast and we need to make a change on our own. Rest easy knowing that Jesus has our backs on that also. Witnessing to a lost person comes to my mind, if we put it off we might not get another chance. Don't be afraid to witness to others. It is an assignment from God and since you are working for Him, He will carry you through it and even give you the tools to get it done. AMEN.

One more today, this from the Bible and done by a man who said he was unworthy of taking on this assignment. The man was "John The Baptist."

Matthew 3:11 - "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."  (NIV)

As you see in this scripture John was baptizing people and also telling of the coming of Jesus. He was telling the crowds that He, John, was not fit to even carry the sandals of Jesus. Jesus tells him different and we will look at that tomorrow. I wanted to bring this point out just a tad today so that you see regardless of how you might feel about working for Jesus, in the eyes of Jesus "you are worthy." You are indeed worthy.

An assignment from me to you this day is this. Go to your mirror and look in that mirror and say to yourself, "I am worthy, Lord, in Your eyes, Lord, I am worthy, so please give me an assignment." None of us thinks we are worthy of what God did for us, but God thinks we are, and brothers and sisters, HE IS IN CHARGE. Someone please say Amen.

Dear Father, Thou Art Worthy, but there are times I think I am not worthy of what You have done for me and what You still do for me. Thank You for trusting me and thank You for thinking I am worthy. I love You and I pray that all others reading this line today pray for forgiveness and become worthy and know that You love us all. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Now please go forth serving Jesus and being upbeat about your assignments from Him. Love ya.

Saturday 10/24/15 Assignments (4)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give thanks to you for another day here on earth, and Lord, what a beauty You have given to us. Thanks for softening the blow of Storm Patricia hitting Mexico. Lord, please watch over Vickie for she has fallen. Please be with all the others who have sent in requests for prayer as they have fallen. Please, dear Lord, bless me now with another message and then please help me to get it dispatched. Thanks again for loving me. I am unworthy but I do appreciate it. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and pray. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, what was your assignment today, and did you get it done? I want to get right to the Bible today to see who else God gave assignments to besides us and those we have covered.

Saturday: October 24, 2015: Assignments (Day Four)

Some of those who received assignments from God were angels. For this, back to the scripture of yesterday.

Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.

Luke 2:8 - And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord." (NIV)

We find here in scripture that the angel Gabriel was dispatched to talk to Mary, and also, although unnamed, it was more than likely angel Gabriel that was also dispatched to make the announcement about the Birth of Jesus Christ. When I look at this and see assignments that God has given to man and woman here on earth and that He still gives to all  of us, I am happy that I enjoy doing the assignments for Him here. With God handing out assignments to angels, it makes me think that even after we are at home with the Lord, we will have assignments to do for Him. And like the assignments we have now, they surely will be "Heavenly." When I think about our assignments, it reminds me of the title of a great song. Let us sing this one. The Assignments, well, "It is Well With My Soul."

It is Well With My Soul" (H. G. Spafford & P. P. Bliss)

When peace like a river attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll,
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
it is well, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Tho' Satan should buffet, tho' trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate
and hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought,
my sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more,
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh, my soul!

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul.

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll.
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend.
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul.

It is well ........ with my soul ........
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Dear brothers and sisters, do you feel like that? Whatever your assignments from God, they are well with your soul? And your earthly assignments might not always be well with your soul, but if they are right with God and legal with man's law, give them your very best shot.

Now go forth and serve Jesus and please do it with a Jesus smile on your face. Love and Blessings.

Friday 10/23/15 Assignments (3)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I don't just love You but I have faith in Your Word and I believe in what I learn in the Bible and what You give to me directly. Thanks for watching over us another day and night. Please, Lord, watch over Your children in the way of Hurricane Patricia and keep them safe. I pray the storm will go to sea. Please quiet the storm as we know You can if it is in Your will. I pray today, Lord, for family and friends. I also pray today for all the pastors who follow this line. I pray You fill their hearts with the Holy Ghost and fill their assigned churches to the max for the messages on Sunday. May we praise You over and over again for all things good. May we give thanks to You for all things. Please, Lord, help me with the message for today and the help me to get it dispatched. Again, Lord Jesus, I love You and I pray in Your Name. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am having fun writing for the Lord. It is an assignment I take very seriously, very seriously. We have again added new people to the line, and I invite all of you to ask others if they might want to receive the messages. Have you received an assignment from God? Are you doing that assignment? Are you enjoying doing it? Some assignments might not be as pleasant as others, but we must, if we really love Jesus, get them all done. I want to tell you that as an owner of service stations back in the days of full service, we had well-used rest rooms. Sometimes they would really get messed up. If they were really a mess, I would go and clean them myself. Why do I bring that up? I don't believe that God would ever assign you a job that He would not do Himself. He never once asked any of us to die for Him, but He did warn us that if we lived for Him and worked for Him it could cost us even our very own life. I stand ready to die for my faith, how about you?

Brothers and sisters, I want to look at some other assignments from God that are recorded in the Bible. Let us get going. Oh, I want to tell you again. I love you.

Friday: October 23, 2015: Assignments (Day Three)

Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of The Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His Kingdom will never end." 34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "Since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of The Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37 For nothing is impossible with God." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, that is one great and rewarding assignment from God. But think about all that would come along with that. She would be with child and not married. Now, not many people think much about that, but back years ago even when I was in school there was a shame put on girls who became pregnant when in school. They also had to drop out of school and I would say many never returned after giving birth to the child. Mary would need to face her family and friends, and of course she would need to tell Joseph. Ladies, can you just think about going to the one you are engaged to and telling them you were going to have a baby, yet you never had with them? On today's stage the comment might be, "goodbye!" Or who do you think you are, Mary? Yes, this assignment from God would not be easy. Think about this as you weigh in your mind some of the assignments that God has given to you. Would you answer as Mary did? Let us look at Mary's answer.

Luke 1:38 - "I am the Lord's servant, " Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, look at those five words. "I am the Lord's servant." How long has it been since any one of us has told someone else, "I am the Lord's servant"? How long has it been since you have ever told the Lord, "I am your servant, Jesus"? How long since you even asked the Lord for an assignment? I think we should not wait for Jesus to hand us an assignment as we do have those listed in our Bibles, but we should also ask Jesus if He has anything else that we could and should do for Him, to support His Kingdom. There is not a day that goes by that we could not be doing something for God. Yes, we all can pray and we should be doing that each day. But what if God would  hand you an assignment that you did not want to do, would you do it anyway? God will not give you any assignment to do without giving you the tools, the strength, the wisdom and knowledge to get it done. We just need to  have faith that He is with us as we do the assignment. Do you think God walked away from Noah after He gave him the assignment to build the ark? No, he was there with Noah and for him and even had the animals come to the ark. By the way, the answer to my question, what living creatures did not make it on the ark? It was easy and not a trick question. Those living creatures would be the creatures of the sea, the fish, lobsters, and all those good things of the sea, for they could just remain in the flooded water. One of the best dinners you can eat comes from water, we call it poor man's lobster. It is carp, and here is how you cook it. Get some good hard wood for your grill. Clean your carp really well. Put it on a solid piece of hardwood and cook it with slow heat on the grill. Flip the fish on the hardwood after about one hour. After another hour, take the carp and put it out for the wild animals, lightly salt the hardwood and eat it. Okay, back to the message.

Do you think that God walked away from Mary after she became with child? Of course not, and He will not today nor will He ever walk away from you. Even if you do not do the assignments. God will not leave you. He will never leave nor forsake you. Have faith, brothers and sisters. God will be with us forever and ever.

Dear Father in Heaven, please let us know our assignments for today and the weekend. Please help us with them. Help us walk in faith to get them done. Help us when we stumble and fall. Help us up and get right back in step with You. Help us also dig deeper into Your Word found in our Bibles to learn the assignments that are for all of us. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Please go forth now walking in love and faith and trusting in God and please spread the good news of Jesus and His Love. Love ya.

Thursday 10/22/15 Assignments (2)

Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for loving and forgiving me. Thanks for watching over our family, friends, and animals. Thanks for watching over all our Christian brothers and sisters who use this line. I love You, Lord, and I really appreciate all You do for me, for us, and I really appreciate the assignments that You have given to me and to us, and to Carry The Light Ministries over the years. Please help me not to let You down and be a slacker when it comes to working for You. Please help me with the daily messages and may they always be what You want done and that they are pleasing to You. Please help me now with that assignment and then please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I give praise and thanks and then ask these prayers. Please be with those we listed yesterday who had fallen, and please add Linda to that list. Lord, please send help our way to break up some wood in the dog yard. Thanking You for another beautiful day and may I walk it with You. Thanks for trusting me to get the assignments done for You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

My dear brothers and sisters, please be careful. So many folks are having bad falls. Please watch your step. Talk to God often about it. Did you figure out what your assignment is from God? The one we all have. Well, read on today and I will tell you about it as we go to the message, Assignments.

Thursday: October 22, 2015: Assignments (Day Two)

Genesis 6:14 - "So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. 16 Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. 17 I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will  come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as for you and for them." (NIV)

Genesis 6:22 - Noah did everything just as God commanded him. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, what an assignment God gave to Noah and his family. I want you to think of just how big that would be. Think of how others would see them working and would laugh at them. While typing this I got to thinking about  how many animals that Dolores and I have rescued over the years and just how many animals we had even before I met Dolores. I always had animals and I love them dearly. Today I got to thinking that Noah indeed had the very first, the very first animal rescue ever. Think about it, Noah brought on board every kind of animal that we have today. The only living creature not on the ark were, well, why not you tell me? Yes, there were some living creatures not permitted on that old ark. What were they? The skunk maybe? This is not a trick question. There was one other time recorded in the Bible where an ark was used to save someone. I will tell you this one. It is found in

Exodus 2:3 - But when she could hide him no longer she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. (NIV)

A far cry from the big ark of Noah, this tiny ark was made to keep baby Moses safe. Okay, back to our assignments. Noah would have needed a lot of room to make the ark. Think of it. About the length of one and a half football fields, and about one and a half times wider, and this big boat would need to float. Just think about the weight of the ark, plus the weight of all the critters. Two elephants and two hippos would weigh a lot, but all the others. And all the food needed to feed all of them. I am getting overwhelmed just talking about it. How would we do it today if we were asked by God, you know, given that assignment that Noah was given? No need to worry, because God made a covenant to never kill off the world again! BY FLOODING IT!! Every now and then God needs to remind Himself not to flood the earth. The reminder is of course the pretty rainbow we see in the sky after a rain.

So what is that assignment that has been given to everyone to carry out? I can tell you now that our ministry name came from this assignment. Here is one place it came from.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world land preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

It is also in scriptures that Jesus is the Light of the World, and as we just were forming our singing group back in 1993 we were also doing a Bible study under the guidance of Pastor Karen Engle Layman at Hope United Methodist Church and the subject was the book of Mark. And just so all of you know, the food pantry part of Carry The Light Ministries is closed. Other parts of the ministry are not NOR WILL THEY EVER BE CLOSED. We feel this is just one of our assignments from God and we will Carry out those assignments under that name as long as God wants it done. AMEN.

All of you have that same assignment from God to carry His message of love and salvation to the ends of the earth, which includes your neighbors across the street and next door to where you live and it also includes your own family. I am sure that God has also given you other assignments. He has also given assignments to others in the Bible other than just to Noah. Over the next few days we will be talking about some of your assignments, some of our assignments, and some other assignments listed in the Bible back when Jesus walked this earth.

Again I invite all of you to be sure you fact-check me using your Bibles. If you have questions, please ask them. After all, we are all working for Him, with a goal of getting to Heaven and getting the Word of God to others so they also can make a choice of where they want to spend eternity, Heaven or Hell, as they are the only two choices.

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to work for You each day. I, all too often, can remember the days I did not do that. Help me and all others who are asking right now to work for You, give us the knowledge, the wisdom, and the strength, and also the ability to love, to love all people regardless of race or color, or even if they hate us. Help us to love as You love. Also, Lord, help me to always remember that all the honor and glory goes to You for all I do. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Now please go forth loving and serving Jesus with all your heart and carrying out your assignments from God. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 10/21/15 Assignments (1)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and thank You for forgiving all others who just love You and ask to be forgiven. How loving You are and how excited I am that You never change. You are indeed the only constant in our lives in our world each day. Please heal Sally from her fall, and heal Krissy from her fall, and also please heal Patricia from her fall. Please, Lord, protect us all from falling except for one fall, and for that I say please help us to "fall deeper and deeper in love with You, dear Lord." The older we get the more we seem to stumble. Lord, please protect this line and please, dear Lord, refresh my mind to be writing daily. My mind seems to be drawing a blank some days. Please  help me now with the message and then to get it dispatched. May my writings please You, dear Lord. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters: Please be careful. I am getting reports of a lot of people falling. And take it from this old man, a fall will not hurt you, it is that sudden hit when you stop. One thing I must watch is falling asleep on the throne and then falling face first. I said once before someone should invent seat belts for potties. Of course then someone would need to start a government agency to see if they are being used. I guess the one in charge of that department might be the "Head Person." Okay, so much for this. Let me get to a new subject, "Assignments."

Happy birthday to our oldest daughter, Danelle. Enjoy your day, good-looking.

Salvation Wednesday: October 21, 2015: Assignments (Day One)

Genesis 6:11 - Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them, I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, each day we get up we have some assignments to do. Some might be remaining from the day before, for some the assignments might be the same from day to day, and for others the assignments might change from day to day or even hour by hour or minute by minute. Some of our assignments might even be given to us by us, meaning we have made our own assignments. Today Dolores has an assignments, as she has a doctor's appointment. However, I know she has other assignments, as so do I.

Have you ever been given an assignment that you thought to yourself or even talked about with others, I just cannot do this, you might have said, or maybe you said, wow, this is a piece of cake. Maybe you were given an assignment from your boss and your job depended on it and you are thinking, this man is crazy if he thinks I can get this done. Today I want all of you to think about a few things. How would you like to have been Noah? When I headed up the transportation department at Central Dauphin School District, I am sure that I had some people thinking "this man is nuts" and I am sure I was called a few names. Some of the very best employees would get those really hard assignments, for we in business have learned that "you whip the lead horse." This is a saying coming from those who drove a team of horses. Yes, when you wanted things done you would know who you had to lean on to get it done. Right before school  would open each year I would lean hard on my driver trainers. They would work some long and hard hours to get new drivers up TO THE STANDARDS THAT WE WANTED at Central Dauphin. We, thanks to all those involved, did not want a second-rate staff of mechanics, drivers, or even the one who would clean the building. We wanted it done right. If you come out of a food store and drop a dozen eggs and they break, you can go back and get more. It does not work that way with driving a school bus. You could not then nor can you today replace your cargo if you mess it up.

Well, think about the assignment that God handed to Noah, and why. Because God found favor with Noah. Noah loved God and God gave Noah a really hard assignment to get it done. God also told Noah how He wanted it done. Over the next few days I will be writing about Noah and the Ark and we will look at just some of the things Noah had to do for God. Brothers and sisters, God is still handing out assignments, and handing them out for each and every one of us to do. What is your assignment for God this day? If you do not know, please pray about it. One thing for sure, we all have one assignment from God that is the same for all of us. Do you know what that might be? Let me know, and be sure to read tomorrow and I will point that out to you and show it to you in scripture.  Okay, let us pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, please bring on our assignments and please help us to get them done for we know we cannot get them done without Your loving and kind help. We give thanks this day, our Salvation Wednesday, if You would help us to reach the lost and lead them to You to be saved. We love You, Jesus, and pray in Your name. Amen.

Now go forth, dear brothers and sisters, and please share the Love of Jesus with others. Love ya.

Pastor Dan

By the way, I, with few exceptions, would never give an assignment to an employee that I would not do myself, with the exception of climbing. Those assignments were handed off to my very capable assistant "Chief Robert Lee Coburn." Thanks, Bob.

Sunday 10/18/15 Psalms of Salvation (7)

Dear Father in Heaven: What a wonderful Sunday and what a wonderful church service we had right here in our living room. Thanks for sending in The Holy Spirit. I love You, Lord, and I pray today that you will forgive me of my sins and wash me white again. Lord, please hold us tight in Your loving arms and protect us from Satan and his forces of evil. Lord, the nearer we get to You the more Satan wants to take us down. Protect us with Your loving and understanding arms and love. Set us loose from evil. Lord, thanks for watching over this line and thanks for all the help You have given me. All honor and glory to You for working on our snow plow. Please protect this line and please help me with the message and then please help me get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name I pray and give thanks. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, all honor and glory to God for His helping or His leading me with our snow plow. I must tell you this. I have been wanting to get the snow plow back on our plow truck and just could not get it done. I needed some strong arms as it was knocked off the blocks that I had placed it on when we removed it from the truck. The landscapers that son Glenn had sent in to help us for a couple of weeks hit it with a big mower and did that. Now it was flat to the ground. Well, most of you who know me know when it comes to bad weather I do not want to put it off until it gets here. After the  hernia surgery two weeks ago I knew I could not lift this very heavy plow. So on Friday I set out to get this done, and before I started Jesus and I had a heart-to-heart talk. Jesus told me to take my time, do not do dumb things and He will help me to get it done. I talked to Jesus each step of the way. I got out a small floor jack and lifted the plow with that and put it back on blocks. Then I lined it up and pulled into it. I stopped at that point and thanked our dear Lord Jesus for His help and to help me move on forward. I lined it up the best I could, got a long pry bar and without hurting myself, Jesus and I went to work. It took awhile, after all, I could not lift, and Jesus was a carpenter, not an auto mechanic or plow installer. Well, it did not take long and it was on, and it works and I stopped and praised God over and over again. Then I put away the jack and backed the truck, plow and all inside our garage where it is now sitting waiting for it to snow. Brothers and sisters, there is nothing, I said there is nothing that you and Jesus can not get done when you take time and work with Him.  If you and Jesus cannot get it done, maybe Jesus does not want you to do that, or maybe just not that day, anyway. PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD.

If any of you have a good story that witnesses to the power of Jesus in your life, please share it with me so I can share it with others. Maybe you were healed by the healing hand of God. Whatever, let us just give God the glory for things instead of just asking for things and never going back and saying, "Thank You, Jesus." Amen.

Today I would like to finish up on the series on Psalms of Salvation. I pray you have liked what God gave me to write and that I did a good job for Jesus. All honor and glory to God. Amen.

Sunday: October 18, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Seven)

Psalm 71:15 - My mouth will tell of Your righteousness, of Your Salvation all day long, though I know not its measure. (NIV)

In this scripture we learn that we should be using our mouth to tell others of His righteousness and of His Salvation through Jesus and we are to be doing it all the time. All the time, all day long. It also tells us that we should be spreading that good news, even though we do not know the FULL MEASURE OF JUST HOW GOOD GOD IS. Brothers and sisters, we have faith, and we have hope and we believe in our Salvation through Jesus going to the cross for us, but we have no idea just how great heaven will be. We only get little peeps about it in the Bible. I am sure we are going to be wonderfully surprised and happy. Besides that, we will get to see Jesus face to face. Someone should be shouting out PRAISE THE LORD. I will start that, how many more will join in shouting out PRAISE THE LORD, GLORY TO GOD? Amen!

Psalm 74:12 - But You, O God, are my King from of old, You bring Salvation upon the earth. (NIV)

Yes, Jesus is our King, He is my King, and ALL HAIL KING JESUS. Please notice here that He brought Salvation upon the earth, not just one of us. Please check this out.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I have good news for all of you. Salvation through Jesus is for all of us. I don't care if you are Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, or do not believe in God at all. If you come to Him before your number is called and confess yourself over to Jesus you will be saved. It does not make a difference how you sinned or what those sins were, Jesus has heard them all and He will forgive all of us one on one if we just ask. Salvation is not just for one race, it does not make a difference. Red or yellow, black or white, He loves us all and He loves even the blended colors of today. The only thing our Lord Jesus really hates is sin. Yes, He hates sin. So let us on this Sunday go to Jesus and get cleaned up. Let us take a Sunday night bath in the never-ending love of Jesus through the blood that is still flowing from Calvary. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, You have come to save the world, not condemn it. Today a group of us is coming to You, maybe one or two for the first time, the rest of us just to get that Sunday night bath. Forgive us, forgive me, dear Jesus, and watch over me. Hold me tight so I stay out of trouble. Clean me and help me remember this scripture today and try each day to live by it. "My mouth will tell of Your righteousness, of Your Salvation all day long, though I know not its measure." In Jesus' Name, I ask my prayers and give You praise and honor and glory. Amen.

Now, dear sisters and brothers, please go forth, sharing the love of Jesus and working hard for Him. Love ya.

Thursday 10/15/15 Psalms of Salvation (6)

Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for another beautiful day. I love You, Lord, and I really appreciate that You love me for I am so unworthy. All honor and glory to You that Alan has a job. Thank You, Jesus, for answering that prayer. Please, Lord, help me with the message today and then please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, what a great day, just beautiful. I guess if it stayed like this year-round we would not appreciate it. Sort of like having pain in our bodies. If we did not have pain, how would we ever appreciate what our Lord God walks us through each day and how much pain He bore for us? I just can't even begin to think how badly it must  have hurt Jesus when they drove a spike through His hands and then His feet. Just dropping a bar of soap that lands on the top of your foot gives you a lot of pain. I do pray you are enjoying the messages on Psalms of Salvation that God has been giving me to write. Speaking of which, let me get started.

Thursday, October 15, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Six)

Psalm 70:4 - But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your Salvation always say, "Let God be exalted!" (NIV)

Here we are being told to rejoice as we seek God and we are to be glad as we do it. And the scripture also tells us that we should praise the Lord. Here it tells us we should be saying, "Let God be exalted!" So let us take a minute or two to exalt our Lord God. In fact, let us sing about it.

I Exalt Thee, Pete Sanchez, Jr.

For Thou O Lord art high above all the earth:
Thou art exalted far above all gods.
For Thou O Lord art high above all the earth:
Thou art exalted far above all gods.

I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee,
I exalt Thee, O Lord!

I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee,
I exalt Thee, O Lord!

I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee,
I exalt Thee, O Lord!

Father, we lift You in praise this day, exalting You for all things. We love You, Lord, and we lift You in Praise and Honor. And we do it all in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Please go forth now and please share the love of Jesus with others. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 10/14/15 Psalms of Salvation (5)

Dear Heavenly Father: I love You. Thanks for watching over us this day. Please, Lord, watch over Sally who had a bad fall. Please heal her fractured shoulder. Lord, please watch over Eleanor and heal her of breast cancer. Please, Lord, watch over all those who use this line, and Lord, please use me to work for You and help me understand that You may make changes to what I do for You from day to day. Thanks for letting me witness to others even in the doctor's office this day. Lord, please protect this line and help me to use it to glorify You in all that I use the line for. Please help me now with the message and then help me to get it dispatched. Lord, thanks for keeping my fingers typing even though the feeling has gone. Please help others understand the messages that You give me to write and help them forward them on as You and they feel fit. Also, Lord, on our Wednesday which we have termed Salvation Wednesday, help us to lead the lost to Your feet to be saved. With all glory, honor and praise going to You this and every day, I pray in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am so blessed. One of the greatest blessings that I have received other than salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ is the fact that Jesus trusts me to work for Him. I am amazed how He has turned this sinner into a willing worker for His Kingdom. Many things have changed this past year and more so since June, but I have promised Jesus, and Dolores has done the same, we will not stop working for Him until the day He calls us home. Remember if you do have prayer requests, please send them to us. Please pray this day for the following: Eleanor, cancer; Sally, a bad fall; Alan, employment. Also, please cover this line with your prayers. I love all of you. Now forward to the message, Psalms of Salvation.

Salvation Wednesday: October 14, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Five)

Psalm 9:13 - But I pray to You, O Lord, in the time of Your favor, in Your great love, O God answer me with Your sure Salvation. (NIV)

When you have prayed for Salvation, and you have prayed that this will happen in His time of favor, or in the words He has given me to use, have You prayed for Your Salvation to happen according to God's will in your life? When we pray for Salvation, maybe the first time we have come to the Lord, many of us, and I am one of the us, I came when I was at a very low point in my life. Of course I wanted it all to be better right away. I am so happy I have found out that as a child of God I now want taken care of according to His time and His will for me. I have learned that this is faith and trust that He wanted me to go through. If He would  have made it all better all at once I might not have appreciated what God did for me, for all of us, but by taking His time, He made me come to understand about His love for me and how by going through what I went through I developed faith and understanding and also what it meant to be forgiving to others and also to seek not just forgiveness from God but also from those in life that I might have wronged. As most of you know, I lost my mamma when I was really young. Mamma would have tried to make me understand why I was hurting and also why I was being punished for what I had done. This was just another time she was following the lead of Jesus who my mamma loved more than anything. Jesus has over the years sat me down more than once. Sort of like a time-out, I guess. Anyway, each time call on Him, I have learned to love Him more and more. You see, Jesus loves us and Him going to the cross for our salvation is all about Love. In fact,  the Words in our Bible are based on the greatest love story ever told. Let us look at some more Psalms of Salvation.

Psalm 69:27 - Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in Your Salvation. 28 May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. (NIV)

Here we see how David was pleading with God to charge others with crime upon crime. Even to the point of asking God not to let those others share in His Salvation. In verse 28 it talks about those doing the crimes being blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. Wow, now we know that this can happen, those folks if they do not come to Jesus will be blotted out of the book of life. HOWEVER, if they come to Jesus as we have come to Jesus, our name is entered into the book of life and it is our sins, our crimes that have been blotted out. Great love story, right? The blood of Jesus today can blot out your sins, or without that blood our names can be blotted from the Lamb's book of life. Please come to Jesus today if you have not already done so.

Psalm 69:29 - I am in pain and distress; may Your salvation, O God, protect me. (NIV)

Answer me this, brothers and sisters, how many times in life have you gone to Jesus in prayer, asking Him to forgive you and telling Him that your pain is overwhelming, be it physical pain or mental pain? I sometimes think the mental pain is worse than the physical pain in our lives. The bumps and lumps of physical pain is hard, but that mental pain, often coming from what we have done in the past, can cause us a lot of undue pain. Undue pain? Yes, undue pain, for if we come to Jesus and come in faith and ask to have our past forgiven, we will find out that it is done.

Brothers and sisters, I am happy to tell you this day that once you come to Jesus, YOUR PAST IS GONE!!! Please, brothers and sisters, turn your past over to Jesus and then try and not let Satan and his workers rub your nose in it. It is gone, it is gone, Jesus has died on the cross to take away your past sins and crimes. Please today come to Jesus or renew in Jesus and then take His Word on the road with you trying to tell others about his great Love for all of us. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and sinful behavior. I love You and I confess to You that I want to be a follower of Jesus. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me and that He was risen from the dead and will judge me someday. Clear me this day, wash me white as snow. In Jesus' Name, help me then walk with You daily, holding onto Your love and telling others about the Salvation of the Cross. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Please go forth now loving Jesus and sharing His love for others. And by all means, if you can use my messages to help others, use them. Love ya.

Monday 10/12/15 Psalms of Salvation (4)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I appreciate all the love You have for all of us. I appreciate that You love even those who do not love You. What a great example of love that You set for all of us to follow about loving our enemies. Lord, help us all to keep our eyes upon You and to follow Your guidelines for us in Your Word, our Bibles. Please watch over us this day and please help me with the message and to get it dispatched. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am going to try and get back to daily writing. I am still having trouble sitting at the computer as when sitting it hits right on the cut line of the surgery. God is wanting me to press on with the subject of Psalms of Salvation, so let me get at it.

Monday: October 12, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Four)

Psalm 62:1 - My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from Him. 2 He alone is my Rock and my Salvation. He is my Fortress, I will never be shaken. (NIV)

Is your soul tired and restless? Do you struggle each day in your daily living? I am talking about getting things done and pressing on each day. We all need to take lessons from these scriptures. Look here, it tells us that our soul finds rest in God alone. Some people who are tired and weary don't go to God, they go to a bar or a bottle. Some might even go to others who are Christians just to talk to them, some might even go to a shrink and pay big bucks. The truth is that God is our answer and He alone is our answer and we can talk directly to Him any time we choose. It also tells us that our Salvation comes from Him and He alone is that Salvation. No one else can save and heal our soul, only our Lord Jesus.

In verse 2 we see He can be our Rock and also our Fortress, and I say He can be, He wants to be, it is just all up to us to come to Him and talk to Him. Let us take a look at a few more scriptures.

Psalm 62:7 - My Salvation and my honor depend on God, He is my mighty Rock, my Refuge. 8 Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him for God is our Refuge. (NIV)

If you want honor in your life you need Jesus. Yes, you need Jesus, you can see it right here in scripture. We all know that our Salvation depends on Jesus, but did we ever take time to think about our honor? I did not, not before I was pointed to this scripture by God today. In verse 8 the scripture tells us to trust in Him AT ALL TIMES. Do you get up some days and you are feeling so good so you get stated in your daily things sort of forgetting about talking to God? How did that day work out for you? I have done this too often in my life. I tell you the truth, I can't do it alone anymore and the truth is I never could, I am just now ready to admit it. I mention going to a shrink, and paying. Well, God does not charge, but let me walk you back a few years when I was at a very low point in my life, things had fallen apart. Marriage number two going down the drain. So I went to see a doctor of the head. I did all the puzzles and was asked what day was the worst for me. I told him Sunday as my service station was closed and I was lonely. So he had me come to his office at his home. I went to church and then to the doctor's. I rang the doorbell and he answered and sent me to a side door. It was his office. I went in, sat down, and soon he came in, dressed in a tee shirt and boxer shorts. I was dressed in a suit and tie. I talked to him for 30 minutes, gave him 75 bucks and left thinking which one of us was nuts. Soon after that I gave it all over to God and set out to re-start my life learning from my past mistakes, or trying to.

Brothers and sisters, if I could teach you one thing today, one thing that would really stick for you, it would be this. Learn to trust in God, not just for your salvation, but for everything in Your life. God is good.

Are you trusting in God today? Are you walking daily with Him? Will you take time right now to renew with Him? Let us pray together.

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to be a full-timer with You, not off and on. I want to walk daily with You holding on to You around the clock. Please forgive me of my sins, and please wrap Your loving arms around me and hold me tight, for You are my Fortress, my Rock and my Strength, and indeed my Life and my Salvation. I love You, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, please go forth now loving and sharing Jesus. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 10/7/15 Psalms of Salvation (3)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Praise You, Lord Jesus, for all things we have, for taking care of us, for watching over family and friends, for Your support of this line and trusting me to work for You by writing on this line. Thanks for all You do for others and special thanks for Your dying for us on the Cross of Calvary so we are saved from our own sinful ways. Please watch over Eleanor Saylor and heal her from cancer. Please keep Your healing hand upon Dolores, and please keep Your healing hand on others who use this line. Please help Alan find employment. Please help me now with the daily message and then please help me to get it dispatched. Lord, help us this day to seek out the lost and lead them to You to be saved. In fact, Lord, please  help us to do that daily. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Hi, dear brothers and sisters. God is so good. Please rely on Him for your daily needs and to  help you with your daily struggles, and if you are like me, you have daily struggles. Yes, it is Thursday, however, I wanted to start writing again on Salvation Wednesday, so I am doing some back-dating. Please keep Eleanor Saylor in your prayers. This dear sweet lady, and I do mean lady, has been told she has breast cancer.

Please keep praying for our police and firefighters and all others who work hard to keep us safe. Now let me get started on the message, Psalms of Salvation.

Salvation Wednesday: October 7, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Three)

Psalm 40:10 - I do not hide Your righteousness in my heart; I speak of Your faithfulness and Salvation. I do not conceal Your love and Your truth from the great assembly. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, when you invited Jesus into your heart, did you conceal Him there or do you "wear Him on your sleeve" so to speak? What this scripture today, this Psalm of Salvation, is telling us to do is to NOT hide Jesus, but once you have come to Him, you are to witness for Him. In other words, get out into the fields of harvest and get working to help Jesus with the harvest. Remember the crop is ready, but the workers are few.

Psalm 40:16 - But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation always say, "The Lord be exalted!" (NIV)

This scripture like so many in The Bible is telling us how we should be giving Praise and Honor to our Lord Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 50:23 - He who sacrifices thank offerings honors Me and he prepares the way so that I may show him the Salvation of God. (NIV)

In this Psalm of Salvation it points out how our offerings honor God and that helps with the work of our Lord and helps us and others point the way to Salvation to those who are still lost.

Psalm 51:12 - Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me. (NIV)

Have you ever slipped away from God, even if just for a few days or so, sort of given up so to speak, and when doing so you found yourself "down in the dumps"? I have over the years had that happen to me. Have you noticed that when you came to God confessing your sins over to Him again that your joy of Salvation has been restored? A lot of things in life can upset you, but when you are not walking right with God, even though you will have your salvation, the joy of Salvation through Jesus does not seem the same. It is with pure joy we can walk in Salvation of our Lord Jesus. I think we should close by singing about some joy today. Will you join me?

Down In My Heart by George Cooke

I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart,
down in my heart, down in my heart.
I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart,
down in my heart to stay.

I have the peace that passes understanding down in my heart,
down in my heart, down in my heart.
I have the peace that passes understanding down in my heart,
down in my heart to stay.

I have the love of Jesus, love of Jesus, down in my heart.
down in my heart, down in my heart.
I have the love of Jesus, love of Jesus, down in my heart.
down in my heart to stay. (Let's do it again.)

Dear Father in Heaven. Please bring us the joy and peace down in our hearts when we bring the Love of Jesus down in our hearts. Thanks for that Love, Joy and Peace. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and praise. Amen.

Now go forth and please serve Jesus. Love ya.

Saturday 10/3/15 Psalms of Salvation (2)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thanks for watching over us. We really appreciate that You do that. Thanks, Jesus, for dying to save us from our own destruction. Please help us through this day. Please help me with the message and please help me to get it dispatched. Also, Lord, please watch over and heal me as I go through surgery. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I covet your prayers as I head to surgery early on Monday morning. I will try and be back writing by "Salvation Wednesday" of this coming week. Let me get to the message, Psalms of Salvation.

Saturday: October 3, 2015: Psalms of Salvation (Day Two)

Psalm 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? (NIV)

Well, let me address this verse of scripture. The answer to the question is this. Have a reverent fear of God and fear no one else, period!! Also, please remember that Jesus is our Light, and He is the light of the world, and again that is how we adopted our name, Carry The Light. Carry Jesus to the ends of the earth.

Psalm 28:8 - The Lord is the strength of His people, a fortress of Salvation for His anointed one. (NIV)

Do you ever wake in the morning feeling very weak, no strength, just do not feel well, yet you are not sick? Of course you have. Then you call on The Lord for He is our strength, and He is our fortress. In other words He is our protection. So we call on Him and then we move out. Yes, call upon the Lord, and it is best done right from your bed before you even move out in the morning. Someone say Amen.

Psalm 35:3 - Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, "I am your salvation." (NIV)

The Lord protects us in battle and replenishes our soul when He reminds us that "He is our Salvation." Here we are even asking God to remind us of just that, and yes, there are days when we need a reminder.

Psalm 35:9 - Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in His Salvation. (NIV)

Yes, after our Lord Jesus speaks to us and we are reminded of His Salvation, then our soul will rejoice in the Lord and again delight in His Salvation. Yes, we need reminded once in awhile.

Psalm 37:39 - The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I want you to notice that throughout this series that our Salvation through Jesus is not just for when we die, but all throughout our lives once we come to Him we have Salvation, for Salvation through Jesus comes in many ways. Protection, knowledge, healing, strength, jut to name a few. As a child we would build a fort, a place to hide from those we fought against in our minds. We were the good guys and we hid from the bad guys. We had our fort, or our fortress, and that was our stronghold. Now we have our Lord Jesus and He will protect us from the "bad guys," the forces of evil, and we have our Lord Jesus to protect us in all we do.

Do you have storms in your life today? Let us sing this song. Written by Stephen R. Adams, but I loved hearing it when Duane Nicholson would sing it.

There is peace in the midst of my storm-tossed life.
Oh, there's an Anchor, there's a Rock to cast my faith upon.
Jesus rides in my vessel, so I'll fear no alarm;
He gives me peace in the midst of my storm.

Notice the song says there is Peace in the midst of MY storm. Not talking about the weather here, we are talking about the storms of life which can come more often than weather-related storms. Let us sing it one more time.

There is peace in the midst of my storm-tossed life.
Oh, there's an Anchor, there's a Rock to cast my faith upon.
Jesus rides in my vessel, so I'll fear no alarm;
He gives me peace in the midst of my storm.

Dear Father in Heaven, protect us as we go through storms in our lives and help us to cling to You and Your Salvation. Thanks for being there for us, even when we were not walking with You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth and please serve Jesus. Love ya.
