Tuesday 2/10/15 Harvest 3

Dear Father in Heaven:   Please forgive me of my sins.  I love You, Lord.  Thanks for taking care of us this day on the road and bringing us back home safely.  Thanks for hearing our prayers and answering them according to Your will and in Your time.  Please be in watch over Your people, dear Lord, and protect us from those who want to kill us because we are Christians.  Please help me with the daily message and to get it dispatched.  Please also, Lord, help me as I want to read a book.  Please help me to read and understand it.  In The Wonderful Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, what a great day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  A light snow this morning, which I pushed off the driveway with my plow truck; when arriving home the sun had melted the rest.  We need to be praying for the people in Boston who have so much snow.  They say they have no place to put it.  We should pray for those folks.  Let's do that right now.

Dear Father in Heaven, please be with our brothers and sisters up in the Boston area and protect them from the weather.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

It is so nice to just be able to stop and pray anytime.  Amen.  With that said, I do want to remind you that each day we will be ending the message with a call for Salvation.  Those of you who are saved know why I do this.  Those who do not understand why I am doing this each day just might not be saved.  I should  have been doing this since I started writing daily messages.  It has been a lot of years, about sixteen or maybe a couple more.  Just to keep you up-to-date on how the ministry is going, today our local police came to our home and picked up food for a homeless person.  We picked out all foods that did not need to be cooked, like soups, tuna, canned chicken, baked beans, etc.  Also tried to find all pull tab cans.  Next the Silver Spring Township police are making a registry of all folks with dementia and/or Alzheimer's issues and we are going to make a donation to the Township for start-up funds.  (They did not ask for this.)  Thanks for all of you who keep supporting the ministries of Carry The Light Ministries.  It is appreciated.  Now to the message.

Tuesday:  February 10, 2015:  Harvest (Day Three)

Ruth 2:2 - And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor."  Naomi said to her, "Go ahead, my daughter."  3 So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters.  (NIV)

Do you folks know that we still have harvesters working the fields today?  I am talking on real farms.  Yes, we do, and they are called International Harvesters.  Okay, a joke to start today.  Anyway, this scripture points out how people who did not have a lot to eat would get food back in those days.  They would glean the fields, which was the gathering of what the crews would miss.  I can't help but wonder today how many people who do not have enough to eat would go out and glean a field after the farmer had gathered crops?  Or would they just go to the food pantry for the handout?  It was not all that long ago that the United Methodist men would go out and ask farmers if they could glean the fields and they would take it to the food pantries.  I do not know if that is still done or not.

I do not work much out of the books of the Bible which bear the woman's name, but we have had a lot of very, very good women named in the Bible.  Most often we think of Mary, the mother of our beloved Savior Jesus.

2 Corinthians 9:10 - Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.  (NIV)

We know that the "He" talked about is God for He supplies us with all things good.  The term "Harvest of your righteousness" is talking about how if we stay near to God and we work hard at doing His will and our righteousness will keep increasing until it is the day we ourselves will be called home by our Lord.  The word also talks about how our seed will be increased.  This is another way of saying the harder we work for our Lord Jesus the better our rewards will be when it comes harvest time for us.  You know, I have never given much thought before to  how indeed we will be harvested when our time comes.  Another term that we can add to being called home or some of the other terms like "he bit the dust" or "he bought the farm."  Yes, indeed, harvested by our Lord God.  And harvest time is near.

Galatians 6:9 - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  (NIV)

Here it is plain that if we just do not give up, when our time comes we will reap a harvest.  We are being encouraged here to keep on going and doing good.  Let me say that in today's world when we look around us we can get weary when doing good.  It is hard when so much other junk is going on around us.  Just keep your "eye on the prize," our Lord Jesus, who is our biggest reward when it comes to our harvest.  Oh, we will have a few other things, we will have a big mansion with a lot of rooms and we will NOT NEED TO PAY PROPERTY TAXES ON IT.  We will also have gold streets and the gate to our city, wow, it will have pearls on it.  Yes, a Pearly Gate.  More tomorrow, maybe a new subject.  Tomorrow is Salvation Wednesday.  Let's pray.

Dear Lord, please forgive me of my sins, for this is the day I want to be Born Again.  I believe You died for me and were risen from the dead.  Please save me and then help me repent and go to work for You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please share my love.

Pastor Dan
