Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thank You for letting me talk to You today, and thanks for taking time to listen. Lord, I am just a sinner saved by Your grace, and I really do appreciate that You went to the cross for me and not just me but for all of us. Lord, Vicki needs Your touch this day. She has been told if she gets near smoke she will die. Please protect her from that second-hand smoke. Lord, we have folks on this line who need Your touch on their eyesight, on hearing, to just get around. Lord, I pray today for those in authority over us here in the United States. I pray today for all those who suffer depression, and I pray for those who have turned and walked away from You. Please be with all those who work for You and I pray that all pastors in their messages this week will preach the real truth as found in Your Holy Word, our Bibles. Thanks for trusting me enough to work and write for You, and yes, I need Your help now with the daily message and to get it dispatched, so Lord, please help me with that. In Jesus' Wonderful Name, I pray. Amen.
My dear brothers and sisters: Can you believe that February is just about finished? It seems just like yesterday that those people were out in the rain and cold watching a groundhog trying to tell the world what God is going to do. I guess people just need something, an excuse maybe, to justify having a party and getting drunk. Please pray today for Vicki. Vicki is a long-time warrior on this line and has many health issues. Please, warriors, pray for our country and pray for the safety of all Christians, and really pray for those who are missionaries working in foreign countries. Also pray, really pray, for the unsaved, and pray hard for those who are coming after you, more than likely some will even call themselves Christians, but in reality they are not real followers of Jesus. Worldwide, in America, in our home states and even in our own homes, Satan is trying to get a foothold. Stand firm, brothers and sisters, stand firm, for in the end, in the very end, WE WILL WIN!!! Now let me get to the message, and we are still working on "Talking to God and The Lord's Prayer."
Friday: February 27, 2015: Talking to God! (Day Three)
Matthew 6:9b - "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." (KJV)
Today, dear brothers, we will start with verse eleven, "Give us this day our daily bread." As Jesus is teaching us this prayer, we know He is also setting an example for us. Give us this day our daily bread, we are taught to pray. Here is an example of how not only God is hearing this prayer and answering this prayer, He is giving us so much more than what we are asking for. Think about it, how long has it been since you have had just bread? In some countries, people would be happy to have a few more crusts of bread, but in America we have been blessed to have so very much. Think about it. Just this morning when I woke, I made coffee and put some really good bread into the toaster. Then when the toast came up, I laid a layer of butter on it that would have been enough to butter a loaf of toast. So often we just take our "Daily Bread" like it is something we should have. It is our right to have bread. Shame on us, shame on us, and then so often we don't even say thanks. Let's work also on verse twelve today.
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." Forgive us our debts, and that could say trespasses or sins. The word "debts" is meaning our moral debts. I do wonder just how many people when praying think in this prayer we are asking God to forgive us of those credit card debts, etc. So let's go over this first part of verse twelve. Forgive us our debts, our sins, our trespasses, and we are asking God to wipe our slate clean. That is what we are praying. But wait, are we really praying for a clean slate? Listen now as we add in the second part of verse twelve. AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS. Yes, I made that big and bold and underscored it. What are we praying here? We are asking God to forgive us just the same way we forgive others. Oh my, are we in trouble here? Yes, I asked that question, are we in trouble here? If we do not have a forgiving heart when it comes to forgiving others, how do you expect God is going to forgive us? Just today, just today I had to ask Dolores to forgive me because I yelled at her. I really did, and I was out of line. What happened was not her fault, it was mine, and I asked her to forgive me. And she did. Sadly, she might not forget it for a long time, but she forgave me right away. You need to have a forgiving heart. One thing we do not want to do is keep going back over and over again asking God to forgive us of our sins of years and years ago. Sometimes we must just forgive people who have hurt us without bringing it up to them. We do not need to run to them and say, I am forgiving you and I want you to know that. No, just forgive them and then put it to rest. Don't bring it up again and again. Why not? Well, once you ask God to forgive you and He does, He will not hold that over your head again and again. God will not say to you, after He has forgive you, do you remember when you did this or that? When you come to God and ask Him to forgive you, He will know if you have forgiven others. You see, God knows us inside and out. He knows our hearts. So today, please ask yourself, am I holding back forgiving someone who did something against me? Brothers and sisters, let it go, let it go. I SAID LET IT GO, and forgive them, and know that God will forgive you. Then it is a done deal. Look at it one more time. "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." Okay, that is it for this day. And as we have been doing in this series, we have been closing with this great and wonderful prayer that our Lord Jesus taught us to pray. Please think about what you are praying.
Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen
Now go forth and share your blessings and stay warm. Love ya. Please share God's blessings and mine also.
