Mon/Tues 2/2-3/15 Jesus is Calling Us!

Dear Heavenly Father:  I love You very much.  Please forgive me of my sins and help me to repent from sinning.  Please, Lord, watch over this line and Lord, please open my brain.  Take away some pain and help me to get back to writing for You.  Thank You, Lord, for that blessing.  Thanks for watching over this line and thanks for watching over families and friends.  Please, Lord, please keep blessing us with those blessings.  Now, Lord, please help me with the daily message and to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  It seems there were two non-believers, atheists, who were also environmentalist wackos, who had died and went to hell.  While standing there in that fire, one said to the other, "I tried to tell those who love God about global warming and they would not believe me."  Yes, I confess I made that one up.  A lot of truth in that joke.  Please join me as I get to the message.

Monday/Tuesday:  February 2 &3, 2015:  Jesus is Calling Us (Day One)

Mark 1:16 - As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."  At once they left their nets and followed Him.  (NIV)

When Jesus started to teach, His message was the same then as what we are to be teaching today.  This from Mark.

Mark 1:15 - "The time has come," He said, "The kingdom of God is near.  Repent and believe the good news!"  (NIV)

That message of course is the "Good News" and over the next few days we will be talking about that "Good News" and just what it is.  We are also to be talking to others about the Kingdom of God being near, yet we are not to be wasting our time trying to figure out when for not even Jesus knows that.  We are to be letting the unsaved know it is coming.  We are also to be talking and also doing it ourselves and that is repenting of our sins.  We are also to be talking to others about believing in Him as our Savior.

I want you to note the name of the subject is Jesus is Calling Us.  Not just you and not just me, He is calling all of us, and His call is really a command.  It is not a request but an order.  For that command I want you to look at Mark 16:15.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation."  (NIV)

I want you to note that Jesus tells us to "Go."  He does not say please go or if you have time go or if you feel like it go.  Jesus just tells you to "GO."  When He called His first disciples Jesus said, "Come Follow Me."  So again I tell you His message is the same to all of us and it holds true today.  Here is proof of that.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  (NIV)

Now we, brothers and sisters, have a choice and we need to make it.  I have made my choice and I am going to "pick up my net and follow Jesus closer than I have been."  So my questions today for you:  Are you following Jesus now?  If so, are you going to join me and follow Him even closer?  If you are not following Him now, will you start today?  To put it to you the way it is, tomorrow might be just a tad TOO LATE!!

Let's pray about this.

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to repent and follow You, even closer than I am doing now.  I need Your help, for I am a sinner and must hold onto You, for when I do not hold on, I slip and fall.  So hold me tight, as I grab onto Your garments and walk and follow You.  Help me each day, wash me clean.  Please give me the words to say and the courage to say them to others about the Good News.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Remember that Jesus loves you, and I love ya also.  Please share the love of Jesus and also my love with others.

Pastor Dan
