Mon/Tue 4/30 5/1 2012 Promises from God 10

I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Good May day Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. May 1st already, time sure flies when you work for God!!

When I look back at my days in school (I hated school) we would go to home room for the last 5 minutes of the day, and we were dismissed at 3:05 PM. Do you know how long that 5 minutes was for a 16 year old with his car parked right outside the school? Then it was off to work starting at 3:30 PM and working to 11:00 PM and then off to something to eat and then home to bed. Seems like since I got out of high school the clock started to go faster and faster... Knowing what you know today, how many would just love to go back to the days of sweet sixteen? More about this in the message today.

I am sorry I missed yesterday and the day we pray for our our troops... So today we will do just that... Also, THIS SATURDAY, on the Capitol Steps in Harrisburg Pa. at NOON, the annual support our troops rally> This event sponsored by WHP radio morning show, RJ Harris, Dan Steele and others, made this promise, the first Saturday of May each year we will have a support our troops rally, until the last one comes home. I am honored once again to be giving the prayers... Hope to see you there... COME AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and the Merchant Marines. And all the reserves units...

Also pray for our leaders and for Vicki who had knee surgery on Friday. Thanks for your prayers for Dolores, her heart tests showed no heart problems. Praise God. Now pray for that infection to leave.

May 1 2012. More promises from God (Day 10) Matthew 3:11 - I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (NIV)

Let me finish my statement from my opening. Knowing what I know today, would I want to go back in time and to what year would I want to go? Yes, I would like, knowing what I know today, to go back in time, and yes, it would be to sixteen, or the day after I turned 16 and got my drivers license. (I already had two cars and a truck.) My mother was also alive that day. Now if I could go back, and looking back, what would I change? Number one would be, I would have not walked away from God. I would pray that I could have honored my mamma's wish back then and have become a "preacher man" as she called them back in the day. I would of course make other changes, and pray that I would walk out my life as Timothy Beitzel has and is walking out his life, but since we cannot go back in time, we move forward and I pray each day I can and will walk it with God, hand in hand with Jesus. Helping others and trying my best to get the word out to others to do the same... God is good, have you spent time with Him today?

And now the scripture of today and the promise or promises that we see in this scripture. First, as we know this is "John the Baptist" talking and baptizing folks with water and asking them to repent of their sins. This, folks, is what we should be doing today, not that we need to baptize people each day, but we need to be praying with them and asking them to repent of their sins. Oh, and this morning I picked up bread for our food pantry at the Giant and yes, I got to pray with a person outside the store. Brothers and sisters, when God opens a door for you, please do not be afraid to step through it, and sometimes you must do it on the spot, for that door might not get opened again. For example, this morning, a young man sitting at the smoking bench at the Giant came over as I was loading the bread into my hearse. (The bread was not dead, but I use the hearse as a hauler for the food pantry.) Anyway, he asked what I do with the bread and I told him about the bread and the food pantry. He told me he just got out of jail for a DUI and we talked a while, and then I prayed with him. I never saw that man before in my life and might not see him again, so I got the chance today and took care of it. Sorry to say I have missed so many chances of doing just that, like when I was not walking with God... So you can quote me on this. "When God opens a door for you, do not be afraid to walk through it as He will protect you and walk with You."

Now let me look at the main promise on this verse of scripture. "He (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." So let me ask you this day, are you on FIRE FOR JESUS? If you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit, if you claim to be born again and walking with Jesus you should be on fire for Him. Ready to tell all about how you were saved by the Amazing Grace of our Lord Jesus. Don't hide your light, let that Jesus light shine... The promise of today is of course that Jesus will baptize you and will walk with you. So get on fire for and with Jesus... And someone said AMEN.

Dear Father in Heaven, please this day, put me, put us, on fire for You and open doors for us to do your work... be with our troops and all of our leaders, and be with the leaders of our troops. Please protect our president and I pray for his salvation and his soul. Lord Jesus, I pray that President Obama finds You and hooks up with You. In the name of Jesus,  I give thanks... Amen.

Now go forth walking with Jesus looking and seeking out His love and for others to share that love with, and yes, His love for you is a blessing and may be the best blessing you have to share. But as always, I say this in closing, please share your blessings. I love ya,  Pastor Dan.
