Monday 5/7/2012 More Promises from God

"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For when two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, and boy do they need prayed for. Pray first for their salvation of course. Did you hear the Vice President of the United States this weekend stating that "he supports men marrying men and women marrying women" and then they try and tell everyone they are Christians. I would love to have anyone show me that in the Bible. Our Lord Jesus tells us we are to love everyone, yes, as I put it, love the sinners but hate the sin. We also need to pray for our veterans and for our troops, also police and firefighters and all who work to keep us safe, healthy and free.

You will love this story. Carry The Light Ministries has many supporters and we have a lot of teens that come and help us when we pack and hand out food. Last week, a high school girl from Mechanicsburg High school was in the nurse's office and she overheard another girl telling the nurse how they do not have enough to eat as her mother has cancer very bad and had to leave work, and her dad misses hours to take care of her mother. She told the nurse that they were selling things to buy food. So the teenager who comes to help us, told the nurse she overheard this and knew where she could get food help for the family. This young girl stepped out in faith to help a classmate she did not even know. Turns out the family has 3 of their own kids and have taken in 3 more. The mother has just turned forty and really needs prayer... Food was picked up by the family who comes to help and delivered to the ones needing food. Brothers and sisters, only God works things out like this and this is why when God opens that door to witness you must walk through it.

I withheld all the names except the one needing prayer for healing of cancer. Her name is Tonya. Also on Sunday, and I do not have a name on this yet, but it is coming, a 14 year old boy in our area was put on our prayer list at church, he is waiting for a heart transplant. Brothers and sisters, when you have some back pain, or leg pain, take a look around you and think of the others, it might help you carry your pain better, and if that does not help, think of a nail going through your foot or hand...

5/7/2012 More promises from God. Matthew 18:18 - "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For when two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (NIV)

One of the greatest promises of our Lord Jesus is quoted often in the Bible and is just five short words... The promises!! "I tell you the truth." Now let's look for other promises in these three verses of scripture. From Matthew 18:18 we have "I tell you the truth." Plus "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven."

Now let's look at Matthew 18:19 - "Again I tell you that if two of you agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in Heaven." While the promise here is about two of us agreeing on something, and of course that would be something good folks... It will be done for us... But what really stands out to me here is how Jesus has this faith in His Father, so much faith that He can make a promise in His Father's name. And you see how Jesus takes that step out in faith, and uses it to teach us how we should also step out in faith. Did you see this, and I did not plan it this way, but think about it, how Jesus stepped out in Faith by telling us that His Father in Heaven would fulfill this request, and we just saw this teenager from Mechanicsburg High School step out in faith, knowing that Jesus made promises like this, and knowing her earthly father would help and she had help from us, but ALL OF IT COMING THROUGH THE HANDS OF JESUS. And all glory and honor to God for this, none for the rest of us. Do you see how God always works it for good when we trust in Him?

Now one more verse... Matthew 18:20 - "For when two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." So when two or three of us come together in prayer and in God's name, there we will find Jesus right in there with us. By the power of the Holy Spirit He is right in there with us... GOD IS GOOD...

Dear Father in Heaven, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO and all the promises that You have given to us to hang on to. Lord, hear our prayers of today and act on them according to Your will for us all... In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
